However please continue to monitor the coolant level. Like you stated, the coolant is supposed to go back to the radiator. But if otherwise, a faulty radiator cap could cause it.
So just get it checked. If found faulty pls replace.

Please do not allow any mechanic remove your thermostat and wire fan directly.

I'll suggest you drive the car and observe the temperature gauge and coolant level in the reservoir. Then let's have the results.

From experience, it will take your car longer time to reach optimal working temperature because of the increased size of your radiator

Good Evening everyone. My Toyota corolla 2003 starts and revv well in park but start stalling when put on drive.
What could be the problem?

Dirty throttle body could be the cause.
Basically what happens is the engine power at that time is not enough to compensate for the additional load.
Check for dirty air filter, dirty throttle body, clogged injectors, check fuel pump pressure, check the coils and plugs are in good condition.


If any of the above is not as it should kindly do the needful.

Whenever I start my car and shift my gear to drive, I do experience delayed gear shifting, especially the low gears. Engine keeps revving but the car does not accelerate appropriately.

Have you been able to get it fixed? Otherwise check your transmission fluid. If low top it up and monitor the performance.
Scan to see if there is any related error code stored in thr ECU.
You can also do a simple visual inspection of the wires & connectors go to the transmission.

A Vacuum leak will throw a P0442/P0456 code and trigger the Check Engine Light.

Sorry not always.
Not all vacuum leaks throw codes. Some will cause an ignition misfire, some will cause a rough idle etc. If you follow error codes, you will keep fixing stuffs that aren't broken. Don't be deceived. Not all vacuum leaks throw codes.
For the codes you dropped;
P0442 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak) - this is a leak in the emissions system. The only way this will cause higher fuel consumption is if the purge valve is stuck open thereby allowing fuel vapour directly into the engine. This will result in negative fuel trim figures.

I don't think so. Scan confirmed that the car takes more fuel at idle. It was scanned at idle and in motion .

Higher fuel consumption at idle compared to when the vehicle is in motion is usually a factor of the presence of a vacuum leak.
Because at idle the unmetered air makes the ECU/PCM spray more fuel to compensate for extra air. However when in motion the extra air getting in is negligible since the amount of air intake is more and might be closer to atmospheric pressure.
Reverse is the case if the MAF was dirty.
So OP kindly check for vacuum leaks among other things...

Vibration and blinking check engine points to a misfiring engine
You need to find out the cause of misfire.
Ot could be mechanical, fuel related, air related, vacuum leak, ignition related.

Your park/neutral switch might be faulty.
Replacing it would solve your problem. However since the vehicle starts in Park... Why give yoursef unnecessary headache?
