TALK2FABO:
You can decide not to travel within that period because visa is just for traveling purpose so just renew your study permit and get your passport renewed also in that period, then you can renew your study permit to 2020 when you have your passport and work on the visa renewal also. You might see anyone else that can show you a better way but this all i can tell you with my knowledge.

Please people who have been in this situation should tell me more about it please. Does renewing my passport mean that i will have to apply for a new study permit? Or i can still use the one on the old passport?
And also if i decide to renew the study permit, will i be asked to bring the old passport or they will just stamp the new passport alone?

So i should renew my passport first before renewing my student permit?
my main reason for asking this is because i am trying to prevent applying for a new visa because of the new passport.
I just want to renew my passport when it is due.

I do not know if anybody remembers me.
but here is my testimony.
I applied for a student permit on October 5th.
It was a very mesy application acording to you guys because my dad only had 4,000,000 as his statement of account.
but he had other assets.
I came to Niaraland after I had already submitted my application and when i asked if I could submit again to correct the mistakes you all said No.
I was very scared as I am still a teenager and i wanted to resume school as soon as poosible.
But I just had hope In God and just continued with the application.
after about a month and half my dad told me he had lost the password to the myCIC account. this caused alot of commotion and made everyone in my house sad.
I even finalized that there was no longer hope again and already deneied myself the visa.
so after a month later which was this december my father finally got the password. and we saw the medical forms in it. we didnt the medicals the next day.but we were denied the next day after the medicals due to the fact that we hadnt done our medicals in the 30 dasys gap.
while all this was happening, my parents had already gotten their visting visa as they were supposed to acompany me to canada.
but I do not know what happened. I checked the myCIC account the next like 3 days and in the application information tab i saw that my Meidcals had been passed! and my passport was requested for. I immediately showed my parnts and they submitted it.
to cut the long story short. I got my approved mail today.
PLEASE TRUST GOD. WHAT IS WRITTEN IS WRITTEN.
all this happened on my first application.
Thank you all.

Good day house.
Does getting a medical request mean that you have passed the state of financial documents?. I know that at this point it is still possible to be denyed. But would the denial still be based on financial documents?.. Thank you.

You can use the same study permit/TRV.. If it expires before the end of your studies, you can always extend
I hope extending is not as stressful as apply at first

Good day house,
I have a huge problem at hand.
I applied for the student visa and did the biometrics.
We applied through the online route
While we were trying to track the application on the cic portal we couldn't log in. My dad said he might have forgotten the password.
But after the biometrics, VFS sent me an email with the tracking number and there website.
Is this enough to track the entire application?
Would I be contacted for both medicals or passport through the CIC portal or through email?
What I'm saying is that can my application still go on as normal without being able to log into CIC but with the tracking number. Thank you house.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by AverageNed: 7:18pm On Nov 08, 2015
So I can use either the tracking number or the CIC portal?
metrecube:

You will soon receive a mail with your track number. With this you can track your application and know d progress. If u applied online u can also know d progress through cic portal.

No it is not a guaranteed denial. You just have to hope for the VO's generosity.

Anything is possible, though your chances are more like 50:50 (or lower) in this situation. But given that it is your dad/parent that is your sponsor, and he seems to have a good source of income and high net-worth assets, the VO could still give you.

Don't stress yourself about it. What is done is done. This is what is called a sunk cost that you shouldn't stress yourself worrying about. What you can do is come up with a contingency plan of what do in the case the app isn't approved. So, I'd advise you find a way to boost your dad's account (and/or brokerage/investment accounts) to at least N9m within the next 4-6 weeks. In case the app isn't approved, you would then be able to reapply immediately with sufficient liquid funds.

I know i am disturbing you all with my situation.
But i just wanted to know if there is anybody who has successfully gotten the student permit in my situation.

Why did you let your dad submit it? What is worth doing is worth doing well, bros.

In any case, you can't start a fresh application until you hear back from CIC about the application you just submitted.

When did your dad submit the app? Did you tell him about the bank statement balance issue?

I sent an email to him, and he told me he had already submitted it before seeing the email.
So does it mean that i am guaranteed denail with the documents i sent?
are my documents that bad am i entirely hopeless?
sad

You must understand that any response or counsel given here is done with the best intentions (to help out).

Undergraduate study costs are recurring over a 3-4year period and as such the proof of funds has to be strong & sustainable over the course of study.

The currently available balance in the account does not cover your expenses for the first year (tuition 20,000 + living expenses). So the VO would be thinking, even if your sponsor sells the land to pay your bills this year, what would he have left to sell next year? Not forgetting that he needs to meet his needs & cater for three other children as well.

As for how often teenagers are rejected, I do not know but if you ask are teenagers rejected, the answer is: yes. The VO isn't as concerned about your age as he is about the strength of your application.

Read through the previous parts of the thread to learn from others who were refused on financial grounds.

"its better to take the time required to sharpen your axe before attempting to cut down a tree than to go ahead striking the tree with a blunt hammer". (seen on NL)

Try to do as @ayooluwatoni & deedee0 suggested: beef up the account, if the duplex is a rental property then that's another steady income source.

God of mercy!! my father has already submitted the application.
Can i start a fresh new application?
Will I be penalized?
Please I just want to get this right once and for all.
Thank you.

Good day house
Please what are the documents required for somebody going for undergraduate
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by AverageNed: 1:35am On Oct 07, 2015
$20000
But what about the land? isn't it also important?
How often are teenagers rejected for under graduate?
montrealer:

For undergraduate you'll need more than that seeing as it's 4yrs. I thot you were postgrad. What's your annual tuition?
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by AverageNed: 11:44pm On Oct 06, 2015
Im going for undergraduate
ayooluwatoni:

Sounds good. I want to assume you going for Masters and that your total tuition is not more than 20k, max of 10k per year. Truth is the balance should be okay on a 50/50 chances (because he's your father), but if you can appeal to your dad to raise it up to say 5m, pls do. You've been able to show that you have sufficient fund, but you've honestly not shown you have available funds....... what they ask for is "sufficient and available funds". You can check part 8 for a sample rejection letter, and see for yourself, so u'll understand.

I wish you good luck

Good day house!!!

My Father has amended the documents for proof of financial Support
1) SOA of #3,250,000
2) Clearance for a Landed Property a duplex to be exact worth over #40,000,000
3)Reciept of two plots of land which he bought for approximately #9,500,000
4) a scannedcopy of his promotion letter in the company which he works which includes his name, name of organization, address, signature and signature of the CEO of the company with a break down of his annual salary with amounts to approximately #10,500,000
will this be enough to prove as proof?

Thank you house.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by AverageNed: 12:35am On Oct 06, 2015
I am the first born of my father. i have three other siblings.
And about the land in question it is valued at 9,500,000
I made a mistake cry cry cry It isnt sold
We also have a house which we are currently building.
I don't know if that can stand as an asset
montrealer:

depends on the value, if it covers all your expenses, it should be enough.

Do you have other siblings or does your father have other dependants?
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by AverageNed: 12:23am On Oct 06, 2015
If he has valued land is that all i need?
montrealer:

Get a co-sponsor or find if he has others assets ( land that has been valued, fixed deposits etc).
You need to show enough funds to cover your tuition plus about 10,000CAD for living expenses & a little left over afterwards.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by AverageNed: 12:02am On Oct 06, 2015
Thank you
so what do i do?
ayooluwatoni:

You really don't need all these, but it won't hurt if u add them anyway. The most important thing is ur dad's SOA with a good balance and a letter of sponsorship from him. He can further give his sponsorship claim more weight by transferring some funds (say the amount u'll need for a year in Canada or total amount u'll need for ur prog) into your account, and u'll also print your statement to reflect the payment made.
But if you present all the doc u listed up here and the SoA is missing, or no sufficient fund in the account......It will only take God's intervention for you to escape visa refusal on grounds of insufficient funds.

I wish you good luck

Good day House!
Please I wanted to know if these documents are suitable for my proof of Financial Support.
Everything is owned by my dad
1) a scannedcopy of his promotion letter in the company which he works which includes his name, name of organization, address, signature and signature of the CEO of the company with a break down of his annual salary with amounts to approximately #10,500,000
2) Reciept of two plots of land which he sold for approximately #9,500,000
3) Bank statement of his standard charted bank account with a balance of approximately 7,800 USD
Will these documents be able to prove as proof?
Thank you

8 weeks on average. I would strongly advise you to read through the thread. Read Part 8. If you can't read the whole thing, read like 200 consecutive pages of any part of Parts 6, 7, or 8. Most people on the thread ignore questions that have been answered over and over. Best.
Thank you. Really Grateful.
