kennyung: I am not my hair

is it true that you are not your hair
Yes na, have you not listened to india arie's song where she sang 'I am not my hair'? That's the message I'm trying to potray. We don't judge people based on hair types neither do we judge based on physical attributes but on the inner person.

I use Otentika, I mix in glycerin and funbact A into it. I prefer this cream cos I can verify through the code if it's authentic or not. It also has expiry date and NAFDAC number, things u hardly see in other skin care products.

RomanceRe: Love Me As I Am: The Greatest Undoing In Relationships by avuekwe(f): 4:39pm On Jul 27, 2014
There are serious flaws such as lying or having double standards, that we need to change for us to be better . However, if you discover that a friend has a different personality say being quiet in the midst of others, as long as you can put up with it, then love them as they are. It would be wrong to change them to loquacious beings just because u love being social. But annoyingly, some will pretend that they like u for ur character and later use it against u.

FamilyRe: Counselling: Strictly For Couples And Intending Couples! by avuekwe(f): 9:43am On Jul 26, 2014
hispinkolo: No one size fits all my dear, but generally I'd say it's better to love from a distance. At least until you study them and see what their attitude is towards you.No need doing unnecessary things cos the day you don't do,it will be held against you.
Everything should be in moderation.Polite, kind, considerate and respectful should be your watchword and even while you do all these, there will definitely be someone who may not be satisfied.
Just do your best and face front. Hopefully, you get into a family of people who genuinely love you and accept you.
My sister, e-hugs for this ur timely advice. I wish I had an elder sis like you but I'm d firstborn so I'm navigating these type of situation alone.
FamilyRe: Counselling: Strictly For Couples And Intending Couples! by avuekwe(f): 1:57am On Jul 25, 2014
hispinkolo: My dear , when it comes to In law matter you have to do things in such a way that if you enter a court of law,you will be absolved of all blame.
Over salting food constantly will look suspicious..I'd rather poke holes in mosquito nets in her room so that the quitoes go chop am day in day out.How will I ever be caught?Am I a mosquito? grin cheesy..This is just an illustration oo..You just have to learn to pass your message indirectly.

What I learnt is that I have to be verry subtle if I feel the need to attack/defend myself or simply turn the heat on hubby..

I have come to realise that this whole treat them like your brother, treat them like your sister no dey work especially when the people involved act like stubborn grasshoppers.I have resolved to give that privilege only to people who deserve it.As I said before,I am not Jesus.

Best is to be polite, respectful and courteous..from afar till you know if they really look at you as a real part of them..When people accept you as you are,you know it.Its in the way they address you,the way they listen to you,the way they act towards you.

@elektra
Pray for lovely inlaws,they exist.
Is it advisable to love dem from a distance evn before u marry into their family? Cos I tried it o and they are complaining that I'm too quiet and I don't socialise. Fyi, I stay in lag and they stay in d east. We only see in dec during d hols.
FamilyRe: Counselling: Strictly For Couples And Intending Couples! by avuekwe(f): 1:53am On Jul 25, 2014
bodashee: That is where the problem is? I guess that is why life is life sha. Sometimes you come accross a sweet man with troublesome family members.....then u leave because of prospective inlaw wahala and probably meet an annoying asshole with a nice family that will always be there to cushion the effects of their sons's misbehaviours.....makes it diff to choose.
That is exactly my experience and utmost fear. Family of ur hubby to be are much more powerful than that of the lady. Imagine them putting so much pressure and unnecessary fear in the young man going as far as wishing death upon themselves just because they don't like their son's choice. I pray that God gives us women d strength to fight this battle and come out victorious cos even before marriage, the battle with in laws have started for some.
CultureRe: What Particular Tradition Do You Dislike In Your Community by avuekwe(f): 11:57am On Jul 24, 2014
I only got to learn of the tradition of a certain village in abia state, the men from that village only marry women from their village but their women can marry from any state but preferably d next village. The village starts with 'I'. Ladies should find out about dis beforehand cos in my own case, u'll regret it when it's too late.

Another tradition is paying bride price to the father of the girl whether he was responsible for her upkeep or not. If a woman struggles to take care of her children singlehandedly, the bride price should be hers or bettter still, pay it to the law court.

kellystech: sister u just have to endure the pain,i understand what ur going through now,its not easy to date for that period of time and one day u wake up to find out everything is over when the problem did not come from you. You really need to ask him to tell u the truth y his mother hates u dat much and u hav to speak to the mom to know where the problem is comin from.
I just spoke with his elder sister yesterday and she said that his mum says I'm too quiet for her liking. I am naturally a shy person but I love reading a lot cos of my background, dad being a principal and mum being a teacher. Is that enough reason to hate me? I have asked them if there's any other reason but that's all they are saying. She requested that I come home to their village this dec so that all will be discussed at the family meeting. I will kip u informed as my story unfolds

I am undergoing one presently, he said his mother said that it will be over his dead body for him to marry me so for that he has decided not to go ahead with me anymore. He refused to tell me what I did wrong to her so I can apologise. He said that his mum gave the reason that she doen't know me too well. I have volunteered to go and stay with her in d village so she can know me better(fyi, I have gone to the village wit my boo r times in a row and each visit lasted up to 2 weeks in a row) We've bin dating for 6 years now and we were supposed to tie the knot by dec 2014. At first, I caught him cheating on me with another girl from his village. He apologised and I forgave him. I've never cheated on him, I've always given him my heart , body and soul. At night, it feels like my heart wants to stop, I've thoughts of suicide . I want to stop the pain but it won't go away cos I love him so much. He's my first , only and one true love. He's also a nairalander like me. What did I do wrong? All my life, all the men in my life have let me down . My father left my mum and us when I was 8 years. The next man to come into my life is my fiancee. Father help me cos I'm losing my mind.

Forgive me nairalnders for the long epistle, I just had to pour out my heart.
