I just noticed. I have a feeling we are about to see some blood.
Looking more like sideways trading to me.

180k is apparently no longer feasible this month

Maybe 172k at best.

Happy 2026 All, may our loot be exponentially greater than last year 🙏

Now, I sent a funds Withdrawal request to Morgan Capital about two weeks ago, but it has not yet been processed. I find this delay unusual and somewhat concerning, as it raises questions about whether there may be deeper issues within the organisation

I would therefore like to ask whether this is a one off experience or if anyone else has encountered, or is currently experiencing similar delays before I would take any further action
My last withdrawal request to them was last Wednesday 14th. It was processed that same day.

Did you follow up with a phone call? sometimes tha is necessary given how many retail investors operate accounts with them.

I have suggested they use virtual bank accounts to automate deposits and withdrawal, until they implement something of suc, you might need to always follow up with phone calls.

You're welcome on Board 🙌
Proceeds of shares sold are always available almost immediately after sales.....could be within 2/3 minutes sometimes due to network issue maybe.....
You'll have to be refreshing the page....

* You can also communicate your concerns to the Oga in charge for immediate rectification.
I'll forward it to them as well. Thks.
Okay, thank you!

10,000th page, Awesome 🎉🎉🎉🎉

@yMCy56, I reached out to DLM yesterday after market close, now i'm trading on their platform.

I've already done about N200k worth of trades.

But the platform isn't quite as smooth as Caladata's.

A major issue I've so far noticed is that proceeds of shares sold are not immediately available for a new purchase. That's for an account that's not DCS. Also, the available balance sometimes doesn't update in real time when orders are modified or cancelled.

I hope they resolve these, then it should work.

BARGAIN HUNTERS TAKE NOTE!
Bargain hunters should take note of bargain opportunities in OCEANIC? 😁

You earned interest but back charges will be more than the interest because of excess withdrawal
Are you saying this from experience or just what you think? If the former, you might need to get your bank to clarify what they charged you for as it's definetely not WHT in that context. if the latter, you're not accurate.

Regulation is that 30% of MPR is paid as interest on savings accounts. That's currently 8.1%, if you're disqualified due to exceeding the debit counts, you do not qualify for said interest, so you do not earn it and thus cannot be taxed on it.

You make it sound like you earned X as interest, but the the bank then charges you X + A as fees for breaching their debit count, that's not the case. Being under the debit count per month is a prerequisite for earning the interest, by breaching the count, you become ineligible for the interest, not that you get charged any fees hat outweighs the interest.

And just now, Nairametrics is reporting an updated SEC regulation.

STANBIC now only needs N1.5bn for its asset management subsidiary

I hope the regulators will force these Asset Management companies, registrars and stockbrokers to list on the exchange.
Some of them are already listed indirectly via their parent companies 😁
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 9:59am On Jan 17
Ai says it's N20bn base capitalization plus 1% of AUM, so my N100bn estimate is exactly right if their AUM is N8trn.

They have till December 31st to meet up.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 9:55am On Jan 17
STANBIC just finished raising N200bn to recapitalize their banking subsidiary, now they'll need to raise another N150bn for their asset management subsidiary.

My estimate is that they hold up to N1.5trn AUM, and new regulations says they need 10% if AUM

I Think there's a pencom regulation too that'll require them to have above N100bn for their pension subsidiary, given that they probably hold up to N8trn in pension money.

That's the cost of being the only actually dominant financial services holding company in the country.

How will you know the worth of a stock at IPO for eg a stock like Dangote refinery and it's earning power. I am concerned that it may be overvalued initially because of all the hype you listed. Will it be fair at 10k per unit and what metrics can we use to say so.
Price/Book value below 2
PE below 15x will be fair considering that it's a low margin business.

If the new MD looks at his data, he may really need to consider how to make you as comfortable as possible as someone suggested earlier.

If possible, he can ask 'if you like fair skin or dark skin, tall or short, endowed frontally or back'

You can pass them to your friend Agba if things like that non de freak you.

On a second thought, this will not be a good idea as it will distract you and may propel you to start making losses.

Make they you buy you a more comfortable office table and chair, and include an Nvidia based PC
😁😁😁
Let Agba have the fair and dark skinned.

This may pose as a concern but the risk to investors using them is negligible.
That's investors o.

Traders like me sometimes have up to 70% of our portfolios as cash domiciled with the brokers grin

I called them though, they said it's the NGX that has failed to announce a new MD. That they do indeed have a new MD.

Maybe I will trim my size with them for now, till I have better clarity.

Good luck to the guy and perhaps all those that heeded the call.
The truth is, if one runs away from Mecure then, it wouldn't be termed a bad investment decision. I await anyone to lecture me on what else Mecure does other than the diagnostic centers in Ibadan, Lagos and perhaps other places in Nigeria.

There are many in the category of Mecure like that.
If you're not a trader. There are dozens of fundamentally sound stocks that will absorb your funds easily even if you're investing billions.

It's prudent to stick with those, and not be bothered about any quick 300%

The headline isn't always accurate.

Like when we read that NCR did 1300% in 2025.

The reality is that less than 20 people in the whole country could have held up to 1 million units of the stock, more important is that fact that those who bought at the year low and sold at the year high are even fewer.

Comparisons Should be done of my portfolio this year vs my portfolio last year, that's the only comparison that really matters. If anyone likes let them make 7000% on a position, I'll be good with my 2-5% .
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 6:52pm On Jan 15
I'm reading a funny report from NBS that November 2025 inflation which we already celebrated to be 14.45% is now indeed 17.33%

😁😁

So this 15.15% is still over 200bps drop.

Basically, they had to change their math 😁😁

Some people here will still yab them for this.

Today, market dipped for the first time this year.

If I made a loss, I would have posted it so at least some people can find joy in that 😁😁😁

But as it turned out, I did not.

Later, I will post a screenshot of my session. It's another ATH for volumes. Third ATH for me this week.

Week has been my best, thank God!!!

I knew him to be a gentle, easy going guy but he should be diplomatic in his remarks and careful how he defends the govt.
After completing the job (reform proposals) as a consultant, he should allow the Finance minister and NRS chairman to do most of the talking, but he is still the loudest amongst them.
I thought you said he's the only one that understands the tax laws na .

Doesn't that explain why he has to do most of the talking?

Do you honestly believe the NRS chairman understands all that's written in those laws?
😁😁😁

That's why NRS is waiting for Mr Taiwo to develop implementation guidelines for him na.

these people whether novice or failures should learn to only comment only on things they understand, and only offer their useless advise to those who solicit them.
That should not be hard

@ awesomej
This your line get as e be oh.If you jam another street like me the fight go long for this thread
It's a simple statement.

If someone asks you for advice on how to trade this market, you respond.

Lots of newbies do it here all the time.

Those who do not understand depth, but like to think the market stops at the limit of their knowledge will and should always be resisted when they push funny opinions.

I mean since when does it make sense for anyone to think that because they failed at something, then everyone else must fail at it, why aren't you calling out that actual arrogance?
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 2:44pm On Jan 15

This is totally unwarranted.

Indeed, it is becoming a fearful venture to response/reply you.

NOTHING is foolproof... smiley
You're simply misinterpreting.

A guy failed at trading, someone else says he values the guys experience, then I wished him the same experience. Why do you see that other than what it simply is?
