Chief, you said you trade the index, the last time I asked but I have tried to locate the ticker for the index but I can find it. Please can you help me navigate through this to locate it.
Thanks bro.
I use Morgan capital
I don't trade the index o.

If I did, I would only have made 0.78% today,

But I made over 6%.

I don't think you can trade the index.

Except you mock it.

Like build a portfolio that replicates it in composition and weighting.

In line with my projection, naira broke below 1350 today to close at 1348.95

Next psychological resistance is a break below 1300.

Naira at 12xx.
We hope for that to happen this quarter. 🤞

well-done. I like the fact that you kept faith with your strategy and did not allow other opinions dissuade you. Although i personally may not try this method
Everyone will stick to their opinions na.

If about this time last year, I was trading a N2m portfolio and borrowing N1m from funny lenders at 156% APR, and now I'm made N2.6m in a single day, with the portfolio having grown over 2000% to now almost N50m, do I really need any one to convince me that I've been blessed with a working strategyhuh
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 4:03pm On Feb 11
My highest single day NGX earnings so far:

- N2.66m
- comes to about $2000 for 5 hours of work
-comes to around $1m annualized pre tax earnings.
- over 3 years of minimum wage in a single day
- gotten with a portfolio below N50m
- about 56% are already realized

- more than my monthly earnings in October and November last year when market was slow

- more than my earnings for the whole of Q1 2025

God is awesome 😎

InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 3:30pm On Feb 11
On Monday I was shocked to have done almost 800 deals in one day,

Today, I am shocked that I made the largest single day profits since I started trading on the NGX.

Atlass is delaying trade uploads for me to confirm the actual figures, but I'm already shocked and grateful.

We still make money in bear markets, but in bull markets, you just get shocking results 😁😎

This is what may also happen when Providus-Unity is eventually listed.
The funds in the market will pursue it like mad
It won't be as aggressive.
Full Bid may not last more than a week, cos the bankers will already price the listing price about fairly.

@AwesomeJ may buy that his car sooner--you won't have to wait much longer.
grin grin grin

Certainly, but i want to grow my portfolio first through Q2, Trading a N100m portfolio is easier.

Plus I will be financing the car, and the payment schedule is about N1.8m monthly for 36 months, with N17m downpayment.

I need that N1.8m monthly payment to be something i can consistently make from 2 days of trading.

Finally, my trip to the village where I want to go show it off isn't happening till September.

Index pushing 178k, MTNN should go up and take it to 179k

naira set to close below 1350 today.
GTB is already selling to card holders at 1358, they're buying at 1325.

Naira may also soon be overvalued, if oversold too because our deficit budget still out of control and budget performance is still poor. Government needs to be more serious on corruption prevention and rule of law. We still have very weak systems. Feeling our equities are not pricing that risk. Many what if's. Not selling off but taking more short-term bonds. Don't need to beat market always, but protect capital and it value. How is your trading going.
Great. I hope to hit N1bn in 2 months instead of 3, I hope to hit my 1% target in less than 3 years. grin grin

it depends on how one is lucky. Bought dollar at 750 2023, sold at 1750 averagely to buy dollar priced commodities, Wapco, OKOMUOIL, presco. Some companies with pricing power. Right now am buying us stocks as small caps are getting beaten down with quality growth engines like appfolio, copart, next power, but still chop beating in bath& body works, occidental corporation. If you have small capital so many opportunities just avoid temptation of over- diversification or over-concentration
Yes sir.

Sometimes it's beyond luck though. As of Q1, 2025, it was no longer prudent to hold idle dollars vs naira assets.

I think the latest arrangement is made to close the gap between the official and the parallel market rates.
The news out there is that the cbn has started to buy dollars from the market to slow down the naira appreciation.
Which ever way, I want to the believe the cbn has done well and it is a good one for the country that the naira is doing well.
Yes sir 💯💯

1k will be best
If market forces take us to 1200, let it stabilize there first and our improved exports can then take us to 1k over time.

1200 is also gonna push our GDP back to $350bn making us the 3rd largest economy in Africa which is slightly less embarrassing than calling us the 4th.

Awesome! A stronger Naira is a WIN for companies that import raw materials and the ones exposed to foreign loans. This will definitely make 2026 a better year for some companies.
It's a win for everyone actually.

Rice will crash further, PMS will crash more. Maybe below N600.

Those of us planning big purchases like a car will save close to N10m on the cost.

etc.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 2:19am On Feb 11
To think that exactly 2 years ago in February of 2024, this same USD was selling for 1900.

Someone with N19m who bought $10k then is now probably going to soon have his money worth just N12m after 2 years, whereas if he had put it any any set of sound stocks on the NGX, it would be worth N60m at least (5x)

If he had diligently picked winners, it would be worth up to N120m(10x)

Even if he had just locked in fixed income at average 26% yield, it would be worth N30m compared to N12m from the preachers of "hold dollars"

At this rate we might hit 180k this week, making my projection just 2 weeks delayed 😎

I am talking about sustainability not a one off thing that will go back to status quo within few years, in the next 10 years do you think a company whose stock price appreciation is not backed by numbers will continue to sustain their elevated share price?
But you won't stay in such stocks perpetually na.

If I make 300% on NCR or even 800%, prudence and smartness means I will take the profits and either hold as cash or put in more stable assets (the ones with the right numbers)

There's no contradiction in both your positions.

Numbers are essential for long term sustainability -->> 💯💯

Sometimes, some stocks on the NGX trade at prices that completely defy numbers , this too is true.

It's poverty mentality. Stocking up money while needs remain unmet and poverty runs amok
Haaa.. this your perspective get as e be o.

Foreign reserves is not for the purpose of providing social amenities, it's to guarantee value of the local currency.

The government at all tiers have what's called budget, I think that's what they should plan and implement well to alleviate poverty, not draining the external reserves as you seem to prefer.

If anything, there's a strong correlation between reserves movement and the value of the currency. When the currency is worth more, citizens simply have more purchasing power with their local currency.

Maybe tokunbo Corolla will again go below N5m in a few months.

Even I am sort of waiting a few months to see if USD crashes more before I make a car purchase. N200 gains on $30k is N6m.

Even N100 gain is N3m difference.

We just might hit $50bn this quarter 😎

Really, @ numbers are merely academic exercise?

Numbers are not merely academic exercise in business and investment if you want to build a long term sustainable value and wealth through business or investment
To be fair the gentleman did say "numbers on some stocks" and he is obviously right:

Deepcap, NCR, eunisell and the likes.

You agree numbers on them are at polar opposites to what the market trades them for.

He's not disputing your point, you're the one who seem to have read his post out of context sir.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 2:06am On Feb 10
Sometimes I'm wrong though, but you don't need to be right Everytime to win in this game.

Even a 60% win rate is sustainably successful.

If you have 90% or higher, you will be incredibly successful.
