Watch the YouTube video. It’s all starts with people thinking they are smarter and they know more.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02POqrHMhyg?si=iiFXAdBORy6kRyEy

I will stick with the basics.

Do what works for you wink cheesy
Time is precious.

I don't watch unnecessary videos.

You on the other hand should learn about leverage.

The evidence that it's you who needs it is the fact that you still think leverage is about paying rent or fueling your car.

We have seen people like Alhaji change the economic lot of an entire country simply by being bold and knowledgeable to use leverage.

Alhaji borrowed not to buy yatch, everyone including you is benefiting from that decision today, that singular decision is the reason you're buying fuel today below #800.

Better leave useless videos and expand the scope of your knowledge.

That is for you. For me borrowing for anything at all implies “I’m living above my means”

Do what works for me.
That as well is for you.

People who know more than you understand that borrowing isn't always about overspending.

You think Dangote was worried about personal expenses when he took a syndicated loan in 2013 to start a refinery.

You need to reach a place where no matter how lavishly you spend, it's insignificant compared to how much you're borrowing.

Consumer loans are one level of growth, there's a higher level where no matter how reckless you become, your personal expenses can't even reach 1% of what you're borrowing. When you get to that stage, you will unlearn all this talk of living above your means.
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 6:52pm On Dec 30, 2025
I also think it's worth mentioning that we're currently ranked 1st out of 24 in the current games.

Worst possible position at this stage is 2nd out of 24.

4 more wins are all that are required.

Who else noticed Otedola GEREGU exited at just around half the current share price.

If the $750m figure is true, it comes to just about N600 per share compared to the market price of N1141.

You heard what was said about “Leverage”.

One thing i can never do is borrow. Whenever the discussion comes up and people ask me - i tell them the dumbest thing - “God told me never to borrow”. They likely laugh but it is truth? Yes. cheesy

Apart from this, with borrowing I feel I am negating rule 1 - always live below your means.
Borrowing only implies living above your means if you're borrowing for consumption.

For instance, I spend less than 20% of my income (on rent and other personal expenses).

I have minimal transport cost cos I work from home.

Yet I borrowed so much in 2025.

In my case, the borrowing I did has now helped me come to a place where I don't need to borrow anymore.

This past week I still got 2 different offers from banks, but I was able to say "no thanks" . Whereas about this time last year, I was ready to even borrow at 300% annualized. I was strapped!

I don't think we should wrap every kind of borrowing in one blanket of good or bad. The purpose -and more importantly the results - determine if it's good or not.

If you're convinced, God hasn't approved it for you specifically, please stick with that conviction. He has His different dealings with each of us, no need for unnecessary emulations.

He is already an investor in DR
How do you think Dangote raise his capital
You make it sound like it would be a substantial stake.

I'd say less than 5% if it exists.

That 5% sef would have added another $1bn to his net worth if he had it.

Alhaji raised via cement's dividends to DIL and AFREXIM BANK mostly.

But of course you might know something else I don't.

The major reason i don't touch any stocks he is associated with. He will succeed to hype the stock and suddenly he will exit the stock and the stock will trend downward immediately.
It's worked for him.

I don't know what he says in his "Making it Big" book o.

But what I know is that he sold forte oil at an excessive premium, plugged part of the proceeds to GEREGU, then pumped GEREGU from less than #200 to over #1100, and Forbes re included him in their billionaires list, not minding that his GEREGU assets were at inflated price.

Tony will probably be watching transcorp again.

Cos Otedola needs an avenue for this his new N1.1 trn loot.

Femi Otedola don sell Geregu for $750,000,00.

Is this true? https://www.billionaires.africa/2025/12/29/femi-otedola-cashes-out-of-geregu-power-with-750-million-deal/
He has sold and exited Amperion.
No direct shares of GEREGU were sold.

@Agba, looks like you will get this one for #300 in Q1.

Same way this guy's exited forte oil at #65 only for the stock to go back to #16.

I paid school fees on that.

Be like I'm begginning to see a pattern in this guy's strategy. He seems more interested in playing the stocks than the business, and this has helped him regain billionaire status.

6 months is more than enough to have pushed an upgrade.

Deals could top 50k today.

Even if it's to eliminate this delay in trade streams, can't they start with that?

If you can't stream trades for 160 companies in real time without lag, how do you intend to do it for 1000 companies, or when there are up to 500k deals per day?

people close to these guys should be ringing these things to their ears please 🙏🙏🙏

I suspect what I am about to type will not apply going forward but if for the last 40 years of your life you have applied a buy and hold strategy for the Nigerian index you would be a lot poorer today.

The Nigerian currency and economy has been on a downward spiral for the past few decades. This i suspect is changing. You want to compare buy and hold for the best company in Nigeria to buy and hold for an apple or an Nvidia or Costco or Walmart. Dey play
There's basically not one strategy to work this market.

Why do we always try to make it seem like one is better than the other.

Some people's temperament, insights, goals etc will only work with buy and hold, if they try anything else it will likely end in regrets.

For some others, we're not that patient. Every Stock I've tried to hold , ends up crashing, then I sell to cut my losses, one or two weeks after I exit, the stock starts rallying. Easily you would think simply holding for x + 2 (x being the average number of weeks I previously held for) would solve my problem, the issue is, x+2 would come, the stock would till be crashing.

I knew that hold thing was not for me.

Similarly, i'm sure there are people who have tried trading only to realize they end up just enriching their brokers.

There's usually many ways to achieve same goal.

Even those(Agba) still waiting for GTB at #18 have an awesome strategy simply because they have the results as proof!

I see the debate of hold is bad, premature sell is bad as immaterial.

Not if it keeps growing topline at 30+% at constant gross margins.

This indicates pure volume expansion and true scaling of the business. I don't get how it's doing this and how sustainable the growth is, so I'm not buying now. But I imagine people don't buy mattresses and pillows on the spur of the moment. There's something fundamental about this business that we're missing.
Constant gross margins doesn't imply volume growth. Do you mind elaborating on why you think it is?

I I bought something at 700k and sold for 1m, I would have sold with a 30% gross margin.

If that same thing now costs me 1.4m, and I sell for 2m. I would have had higher revenue and constant margin, but the higher revenue would be due to price hike wouldn't it?

There must be a different perspective you have to this. Please share.

Folks talking about crypto, it's more like a been there, done that for me 😎

up to N350m in a month when I had the time.

Now it's this market we're committed to, and we'll see it grow. First to $100m in daily trades and ultimately to $1bn daily.

But they need to build depth.

Introducing CP listings is a good start, but it's still targeting the old folks mostly.

Exiting Vitafoam when you did should have been based on strong, rational grounds—the company's fundamentals haven't changed at all.
It remains a true compounding stock: consistent annual dividends, steadily growing revenue year after year, a strong economic moat, moderate OS(1.25B) and relatively good liquidity.
I truly empathize with you for exiting too early.
Your story is remarkably similar to Madam Flo's, who emotionally sold off her FIRSTHOLDCO shares.
More wealth has been surrendered by exiting good companies prematurely than by market crashes.
You didn't just miss the ₦3.00 dividend—you also missed the 1-for-5 bonus issue and the powerful future compounding that could have followed.
Is it that when you guys exit companies, you blow the moneyhuh

Cos I don't understand.

The TOTAL that I sold off at 576 (#64 paper loss), the proceeds have been put in other stocks where I've probably made over #100 profit.

Why do you compare exits with a zero basehuhhuhhuhhuh??

Aren't you supposed to first ask where he deployed the proceeds, then compare the performance he's gotten there to what Vitafoam is now offering.

If he deployed to NCR at N27 for instance or EUNISELL or even BERGER at #35, would this your analysis still hold water.

The fact that you don't even know to ask that fundamental question already show a huge gap in all these talks of premature liquidation you give. Maybe you're just saying the much you understand about the market sha.

As long as it's done in good faith, who can blame you?
