Politics / Tyranny And Fascism, Unwritten Manifesto Of The APC, Says PDP by awodman: 5:57pm On Dec 01, 2013

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP says events such
as the recent bare faced tyranny meted out to a
hapless Edo widow by Governor Adams Oshiomhole
as well as other anti people utterances and illegalities by the leaders of the All Progress Congress are lending weight to myriads of reasons that stand the APC as the most unelectable political party in the present circumstances of national challenge.

A statement by the National Publicity Secretary of
the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh on Sunday flayed the
inherent contradictions in the Messianic pretenses
of the APC against its lead role in the cascading anti
people actions and utterances.

“What a double faced political party the APC is! This
minute, the APC evangelizes Nigerians on fine
points of good governance and nationalism,
claiming they are the ones sent, while the next
minute, the same APC leaders are caught with
sharp sword on the soul of the nation.

“The actual meaning of APC is ‘Anti Peoples
Congress’ and this party’s main ideology is the
dehumanization of Nigerians. This is a party that
relishes not only in causing disaffection among
Nigerians but in directly inflicting pains on them
through tyrannical rule, incitement of violence and
bloodshed and imposition of heavy taxes in states
under their unfortunate control.

“This nation is not in a hurry to forget that the APC
Deputy Leader, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, in line
with the underlying ideology and mission of his
party, had last year boasted that there would be
tears and blood should the party lose the 2015
general elections. Buhari described Nigerians as
dogs and baboons, who he predicted will be socked
in blood should he lose in 2015. Since then, this
group of unpatriotic elements has continued to
unleash their evil machinations to dehumanize
Nigerians”, the PDP said.

The statement reminded Nigerians of the attempt
by the same APC to unleash massive violence
during the November 16 governorship election in
Anambra by importing thugs with dangerous
weapons from Osun but for the timely intervention
of the security agencies.
Lamenting the wicked disposition of the APC, the PDP recalled; “over the weekend, we saw the Pharaoh Khufu of the 4th dynasty Egypt play out in Edo where the sorrowful tears of a down trodden widow, prostrate at the feet of the governor, pleading for leniency, could neither provoke emotion nor leniency nor restraint, rather, a piercing arrow of a wicked utterance unbecoming of an
elected public officer”.

The statement argued that the implication of the
Edo scenario as captured in the “go and die”
utterance of Adams Oshiomhole is that under the
APC, there is no milk of human kindness, therefore,
a warning to all down trodden Nigerians that a
chastise of scorpion awaits them should the APC be
in power at the centre.

“In taking laws into his hands and becoming the
prosecutor and the judge only to confiscate the
belongings of the widow, Oshiomhole betrayed
APC’s disdain for the the principles of rule of law as
enshrined in our constitution and gave a glimpse of
the recklessness and oppression that will be the
order of the day if APC is allowed to hold power at
any level in 2015.

“But for the prompt intervention of the PDP in Edo
state which came to the rescue with financial
lifeline, this widow would have added to the
growing population of destitutes created by the APC
in states currently under their control” the PDP said.

Buttressing the fact that tyranny and fascism run
deep in APC, the statement alluded to a recent
statement credited to Mallam Nasiru El Rufai where
he told Nigerians of other faith that he could
impugn and mock their religion. This, it said is in
addition to spirited efforts by the APC to impoverish
the people and destroy the unity and mutual love
that exist among Nigerians.

“Only recently, Nigerians witnessed the
dehumanizing ‘ deportation’ of innocent citizens by
the APC government of Lagos state. In flushing out
these Nigerians living legitimately in Lagos like
illegal immigrants the APC showed that it is a party
completely lacking in brotherly love and national
spirit.

“In pursing its wicked ideology the APC has since
engaged in reckless looting and brazen exploitation
in states where they currently hold sway. Nigerians
living in Lagos state are now under the burden of
heavy taxes through levies by local governments
and toll gates to finance the wasteful life style of
their leader, their Lion of Bourdillon, Bola Tinubu
who has turned Lagos and some southwest states
into his personal estates and is now busy imposing
his cohorts as leaders and converting state owned
property to personal belongings.

“This looting spree and squandermania has spread
to other APC states including Imo state where APC
Governor Rochas Okorocha has not only frittered
away the resources but has mortgaged the future of
the state through reckless borrowings to finance his
profligate lifestyle.

“Findings by the Debt Management Office show
that this unfortunate state now lacks the ability to
pay back the loans obtained by the APC administration in the next 25 years. Already, the CBN has blacklisted and declared it unfit to borrow more money due to its rising debt profile under the APC.

“This is the form of government the APC can offer
Nigerians. A government of religious and ethnic
bigots who delight in violence, divisions and
causing confusion among Nigerians. Indeed
committed Nigerians often wake up with a
nightmare of APC ruling and the kind of tyranny
heavy taxes, looting and violence that will be the
order of the day”, the party said.

The PDP therefore asked Nigerians to reject the APC
as their real motive which is to pretend its way to
power and unleash hardship on the people is being
daily exposed. “Leopards do not change spots. No
matter therefore how hard the APC pretends, its
commission and omission will continue to expose it
as the party of an ineffective wicked regime as seen
in Edo, proclivity to violence as espoused by Buhari,
fraudulent as epitomized by Tinubu and its
governors while the religious and ethnic jingoism of
El Rufai provides an unfortunate recipe for a fertile
concourse of anarchy.

Signed:
Chief Olisa Metuh
National Publicity Secretary.

Politics / Ubah Sets Up Committee To Recover Campaign Vehicles And Money ;D;D by awodman: 7:55am On Nov 29, 2013
The candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Chief Ifeanyi Ubah has set up a committee charged with the task of recovering all the campaign vehicles and monies he gave out to his directors, coordinators and agents in the state’s 21 local government areas, wards and the three senatorial zones during the campaigns for the election.[/
b]

THISDAY checks revealed that Ubah who came fourth with 37,565 votes in the already announced results of the
election was taken aback and felt aggrieved that majority
of his campaign workers betrayed him and worked for rival candidates in the election.

[b]Thus, the setting up of the committee, THISDAY learnt had caused many of these campaigns workers to go
underground around the state.

For instance, a source said some of his agents went as far
as negotiating with coordinators of his rivals to trade off
their support for him on the election day and looked the
other way while the election was allegedly being rigged to the detriment of their principal’s interest.

“Ubah was particularly peeved that these directors,
coordinators and agents betrayed the trust and confidence he reposed in them,” the source said, adding that retrieving his vehicles was like a way of getting back at them.

A member of LP who craved anonymity told THISDAY in
Nnewi yesterday that they have heard about the formation of the committee but felt it was a way of losing badly and a sign of political immaturity.

“It depends on what he is talking about anyway. Did his
campaign workers ask him to give them bribe or vehicles
to work? He voluntarily gave out vehicles and no one
forced him. If he is recovering vehicles, it smacks of
ingratitude because those people rendered services to him during the campaigns.

“Can he quantify their services in monetary terms except
unless there was a written contract he had with those
people before the election,” he said.

But the Media Director of Ifeanyi Ubah campaign
organisation, Mr. Afam llouno, said what his principal did
was not setting up a debt recovery committee but a
general stock taking after the election, adding that “he
wanted to know what happened, the area he did well and
where he didn’t,”

The committee he said was in line with his principal’s
avowed practice of accountability which he had been doing even before his foray into politics.

“Even when he was running his campaign organisation, he was very prudent and if you are given a task, you report back and render account of your stewardship. After the election, he called his coordinators in the wards, local
governments, state and the senatorial zones to try to
establish and know how things went down the line but
people started blackmailing him. It is not a new thing to
people that work with him except those who want to be
funny,” he said.

Politics / Hand Over Of Party Structure To Saraki Will Spell Doom In 2015-kwara APC by awodman: 9:02pm On Nov 28, 2013
The national Leadership of the All Progressives
Congress,APC, has been warned against handing over the leadership of the APC in Kwara State to Senator Bukola Saraki or Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed as being
contemplated.

Addressing the press in Ilorin on Thursday 28
November,an APC chieftain in the state,Rev. Bunmi
Olusona,on behalf of all the stakeholders of the party, said
doing so would spell doom for the party in the 2015
elections.

The former chairman of Kawu Baraje faction of the
PDP,Alhaji Ishola Balogun Fulani,stirred the hornet’s nest
when he said, during a press briefing in Ilorin on
Wednesday, that the APC to which the nPDP members are
defecting into in Kwara state has no structure on
ground ,adding that “anyone who wants to be part of the
APC in the state should and must come to them.”

To Rev. Olusona, such statement was reckless, wondering how a stranger being offered a shelter would turn round to tell the person sheltering him that the house actually belongs to him,the stranger. This is not only immoral but also absurd.

He said:”Fulani and his people are up to certain
mischief, targeted at forcefully and fraudulently arrogating
to themselves what do not belong to them. It is so soon to get so desperate, even though we are conscious of the
antecedents of these people.”

While they (nPDP) are welcome in the party,he warned
that they must be ready to come to terms with the
dictates of those they meet on ground.

Since the nPDP members claimed to have quit their old
party because it was lacking democracy,Olusona said
comments ascribed to Fulani gave the impression that
they indeed may be the ones wanting to impose their will
on their fellow party men, adding that if their fellow party
men didn’t tolerate such excesses from them, they should
not expect their hosts in Kwara APC to look on while they
violate the rule of modesty.

Should the national leadership fail to accede to their
request of not giving the APC leadership in the state to
new comers,Olusona said they have other options, which
will not be palatable for the party in the long run, adding,
“to be forewarned is to be forearmed.”

But the Statement just issued by former Secretary of new
PDP in Kwara State,,Prince Yemi Afolayan said there was
no time the nPDP said the APC has no formidable structure in the state adding that the former Chairman,Hon Ishola Balogun-Fulani must have been quoted out of contest.
He therefore advised all Kwarans to see the merger as a
clarion call on all to be state builders with a view to
transforming the state into a model State in the country.

Politics / Presidential Jet Not Used To Ferry Dokubo To Abuja – Abati by awodman: 8:38pm On Nov 28, 2013

The special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity,Dr Reuben Abati has denied reports that a presidential jet was used to bring Asari Dokubo to Abuja after he was released by Benin Republic police.

In an interview in Abuja yesterday, Dr Abati said “There is
no truth in the report that a presidential jet was used to
convey Asari Dokubo. Again, what we see here is the
attempt by people to just tell lies and try to package lies as the truth.

“I have read some reports in which they said “unconfirmed reports indicate..” Nobody has been able to say anything categorically and I think it is very sad that people, in an attempt to just play politics with anything at all, will start packaging lies hoping that gullible persons will believe them.

“An aircraft is not a ghost in the air. The movement of any aircraft is properly documented and people will see the aircraft if it lands anywhere, particularly the presidential aircraft.

“Nobody can come up with any evidence that any
presidential jet was sent to Benin Republic. I can tell you
that President Jonathan did not send any presidential jet to Benin Republic.

“Or has Asari Dokubo told anybody that he was brought to Nigeria in a presidential jet? So what is this all about?
Blackmail and mischief obviously” he said.

Gbawe: They are now complaining. Only in Nigeria. Did these shallow and opportunist profiteers, with nil power sector knowledge, not do their feasibility study to see what they are getting into? Wait, I forget it was AGIPs, oligarchs and callous profit-seekers who won ' transparent bids' for conceded power Stations and utilities.

I stand vindicated. Anyone can check the archives to see I talked of the danger of how "pseudo-privatisation" may be all GEJ will deliver given the ultra-corrupt and amoral "awon boyz" government he leads that is midwifing the "privatisation" of our power sector. Everyone heard "privatisation" and the premature jubilation began. We all forget that numerous evidence, far too many to count, show that the current PDP government , just like others before it, is the sort to cynically bastardize and ruin processes by putting personal aggrandizement above everything else . This is why every institution tha should be independent in Nigeria today remains heavily compromised and unable to delivey.

What, as I argued in the past, was wrong with giving, as first line solution in a true federalism, Nigerian States the freedom to device their own electrification solution As Fashola, Amaechi and other serious Governors demanded? Instead we had Abdusalami, a soldier turned Politician, and his rapacious layman sort 'winning' bids all over the place. Not good at all. It was always going to end in tears. Nigerians, enjoy your "privatisation". You deserve it for thinking thieves could care about you when their actions show they live to fleece you. I sincerely hope the "privatisation" of the power sector works for Nigeria but excuse me for being cynical.
Abeg its too early for you to start Masturbati*ng...

If its not well done with the transparency that is required of it then we are all back to squre one...was Ajaokuta not privatised? what has come out of it..litigations and litigations..
But you can't say that the only privatization carried out by the Jonathan administration(which is the Power privatization) wasn't transparent...little or no litigations have trailed the process
