take dat: I am not against privatization in its purest form. I am only afraid of how this relatively small cabal of fraudulent businessmen and their abettors in Government are gradually selling the whole of Nigeria to themselves using our collective wealth to buy them. But this power Privatization was to a very large extent very pure...The rules were tough and strictly adhered to..alot of check and balances was introduced..all this can be evidenced by the minimal or no Litigations that have trailed the process... |
take dat: Privatization in Nigeria has fostered the worst manifestation of crony capitalism. I won't be surprised if those who are going to win the bid for these refineries are the same characters who recently bought off the privatized GENCO's and DISCO's. The on-going privatization of state owned assets to cronies reminds one of Russia Nigeria, a place where large scale privatization of state owned assets resulted to a situation where a good deal of National Wealth fell into the hands of a relatively small group of so called Business Oligarchs, and the wealth gap increased dramatically. These forces of high privilege and regression who should be in jail for accumulating public wealth at the expense of the people and their fraudulent business tycoon allies who have committed heinous economic crimes against the people of Nigeria in the past are the ones buying these state owned assets. The Forbes promoted fraudulent billionaires and corrupt Government officials will keep on getting richer while ordinary Nigerians continues to feed on hopelessness. What's your alternative to making the best out of this Moribund Government corporations? |
We have past this road before: The main thing is that the Fed Govt is dead broke! They are just looking for any means to sustain their ever increasing quest for corrupt enrichment. Or how else can one describe the slamming of high tariff on imported cars without first of all addressing the gap that may crop up due to the policy? Why not do a gradual increase on tariff while allowing the local manufacturers time to do the needful? What happened to the tariff slammed on rice importation? Has it helped boost local production thereby creating jobs? Are Nigerians not still dependent on foreign rice for sustenance albeit on higher price? What happened to the Fuel subsidy removal? Has it led to the building of local refineries? Has it created Jobs as we were tutored? Where is the SURE-P? Has it created any new job? Look all these are just wicked policies targeted at the poor masses, no matter how they are coated by Ngozi Okonjo! The rich and the corrupt would always find their way. Jonathan, we have had enough of your cluelessness
The target year on achieving self sufficiency on rice production is 2015...and so far alot has been done..alot of Rice mills have springed up and even dry season Farming has been boosted in many parts of the north...alot of peeps whr gainfully engaged during this period..Most of this jobs on farming are not permanent but seasonal The problem with folks like you is that you are either short of Info or sees it and deliberately turn the other way |
Our correspondent gathered that apart from theWhat is wrong with starting with what you have at the moment?...the bolded above shows clearly that new aircrafts will be added to the fleet come March 2014..then why exactly the hue and cry?...we all know aircrafts are not bought off shelf but pre-ordered...Pls our Journalists should spare us this idiotic sensationalisms |
Read Pa Kolade's full interview here www.thisdaylive.com/articles/christopher-kolade-mischief-makers-behind-rumour-of-missing-n500-billion-sure-p-funds/165108/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter He does not regret been a part of Sure-p |

take dat: Amaechi did not deny asking together with other governors for the deduction of $1billion from the ECA, but is $1billion same as $5billion? Forget about Amaechi's shenanigans, we as Nigerians must know how the economy is being managed. Lots of accusations and counter accusations in the news these days, NOI should answer the questions not for Amaechi but for all Nigerians. Openness is the antidote to the constant criticism!Lemmie ask you..how many times did FAAC end inconclusive with the Commissioners of Finance walking out on the Minister of State for Finance? If you can also remember what was the reason behind this walkouts and how was the issue finally resolved? |
It has been the understanding of the Rivers State Government that SURE-P is funded from the extra money realised from the pump price of petroleum, which Nigerians protested against when the pump price of fuel was raised. Is the Honorable Minister telling Nigerians that the SURE-P is now being funded from the ECA! Might it then be true as was recently suggested in the National Assembly that over N500billion of SURE-P money may be missing? The question is how does FG realise the money from pump price of Petroleum products..Does FG pay Oil Marketers or does Oil Marketers pay FG?...Simple Answer is FG pays Oil Marketers. Next is how does FG realize the money it uses to pay Oil marketers?...FG pays Oil marketers from Money it budgets for in the annual budget... How is the extra money from pump price which translates to sure-p realized?...From the money govt budgets for paying oil marketers, instead of paying the total amount it deducts N32 and this forms the subsidy savings What is the purpose of ECA and what has it been always been used for?...ECA is use to supplement budget allocations when revenue targets are not met.. Now if ECA was used to fund budget and from the budget we pay Oil marketers and make deductions from Sure-p..Isn't it logical on how ECA was used to fund sure-p... Pls amaechi should go and rest and desist from playing us with semantics |
