kel4soft: If the Honourable minister has said that the Maiduguri-PH rail line is still undergoing work. You wouldn't have seen my post. But, I got angry when he said, the project is almost complete and I find that insulting to the people of Rivers State.Just some months back a train moved from the railway station in "Station" Waterlines to Enugu..it was to test both the tracks and also carry equipments...a thread was created on that in nairaland here and it made it to front page |

Mr. Al-Mustapha said he has forgiven everyone involved in his incarceration. The former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State, Sani Abacha, Hamza Al-Mustapha, has reacted to postulations by former president Olusegun Obasanjo in his famous letter to President Goodluck Jonathan that he (Al-Mustapha) was released from prison to help the president train assassins to eliminate opposition politicians. Speaking to the Hausa Service of the Voice of America, VOA, monitored in Abuja on Wednesday, Mr. Al-Mustapha challenged the ex-president to a public debate on the allegations he raised. Mr. Al-Mustapha said he was away in India receiving treatment for injuries he sustained while in detention during the administrations of Abdulsalami Abubakar and Mr. Obasanjo when he heard of the allegations via a letter published exclusively by PREMIUM TIMES. “I read Obasanjo’s letter and subsequent comments by Nigerians, I would have responded immediately, but I was away in India receiving treatment,” he said. He also said although his name was not mentioned in the letter, he was sure the former president was referring to him. “If he has anything to say on me, he should mention me directly or even challenge me and not make allusions,” Mr. Al-Mustapha said. The former presidential security chief challenged Mr. Obasanjo to publicly ask him anything; saying he would provide him with answers. Mr. Al-Mustapha swore that the allegation that he is being used by Mr. Jonathan to train assassins is false. He said he has always been in the vanguard of coming to the aide of people from the north to be recruited into the military and para-military agencies; and would therefore never involve himself in anything that would hurt the region. “Perhaps it is Obasanjo and his cronies that are planning what he was insinuating,” he added. I have forgiven all Mr. Al-Mustapha said he had decided to forgive all those who had a hand in his incarceration when he was being tried for the murder of Kudirat Abiola, wife of the winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Kudirat Abiola. He was initially convicted for the murder by a Lagos High Court but was discharged and acquitted by the Court of Appeal. He, however, added that such people, including Mr. Obasanjo failed to accept that fact and still harbour fears about him and what he knows about them. “I urge everyone to pray for Obasanjo to accept my challenge for a public debate so that the truth will come out,” he said. Mr. Al-Mustapha said he is focused on helping Nigeria find its rhythm by uniting the people, especially the youth and the poor. “From 1974 to the present, a lot of things are buried with all sorts of lies. But all would be revealed one day,” Mr. Al- Mustapha said. premiumtimesng.com/news/152050-letter-jonathan-al-mustapha-challenges-obasanjo-public-debate.html?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=letter-jonathan-al-mustapha-challenges-obasanjo-public-debate |

Less than 10 days for this year to end,Kwankwaso presented a supplementary budget of N25bn and the state house of assembly hurriedly approved it...Is it wrong for the EFCC to invite them over and ask why? |
saxywale: choi....see damage control.Bro this is not damage control....just look at the items listed... building and installation of oxygen/other gases generating plant at N70m; construction of VIP Wing -N1.3bn; completion of extension of Dental Wing, N50m; construction of central sterilising building,N50m and the provision of MRI building and mortuary conversion at the cost of N17.5m. An X-ray machine will be purchased at a cost of N35m;mammography machine, N60m; embalming machine,N1.65m and hydraulic post-mortem table,N4m. The purchase of sports kits for the State House Sports Club will gulp N4. 2m.Which past govt did something like this?...let's even get down to states...does any state govt list the components of their budget like this;ltem by item Now they have been listed for us as citizens we can participate by looking at the items and encourage the National Assembly to remove those we find either unnecessary or wasteful...That is how democracy deepens |
Obiagelli: I totally commend gej for this effort, i know the problems I face every Xmas from fuel scarcity, i actually stocked up fuel as early as November. This is what I call development. Touching the common man. Though I won't vote him 2015.Lol...why?....Good you acknowledged this though |
I just love the way this Govt lists every item in the budget even to the minute details...that is a very good attempt at ensuring transparency and accountability However,I want to know why the villa thinks acquisition of animals is a priority next year |

Sincere 9gerian: I consider your post on this thread very unfortunate. How do we reconcile your post with the statement below, which you made prior to GEJ's rebuttal?I have tried as much as possible to restrain from tagging ba7man as tribalist or a full fledged APC member but the harder I try..the more he shows me reasons to rightly give him that name |
blink182: I hope the air-conditioning and toilets work.Kindly go board a flight and check |
Since, as President, you also served for many years asApt!...GEJ reminds us how the oil industry was run during Obj's time What I have not done is to influence the electoral process to favour our Party. You were definitely never so inclined,GEJ simply telling Obj No..I don't rig elections like you.. |

Press Release Expanded Terminal opens at Lagos airport. Passengers flying through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos to other parts of the world were giving a pleasant Xmas surprise with the opening of the new departure/screening points of the terminal at about 6.00 am on Saturday, December 21, 2013. The extended Departure Hall feature 5 nos state – of-the-art screening machines and 2 nos Body Scanner at each of the wings in addition 30 nos new immigration counters. A distinguishing feature of the new screening machines is the ability to detect explosive materials and potential threat items real time with the lowest rate of false alarm. The introduction of 30 nos new immigration counters as against the previous 9 nos has taken passenger facilitation to another level. The extended Departure consists of 14 check-in counters, seven hand-luggage X-ray machines and eight walk-through body scanners at the E finger. The facility is equipped with 11 toilet facilities for both male and female passengers, as well as disabled persons. The new extension comes with commercial offerings. These duty free shops will afford passengers the opportunity for last minute shopping, refreshments and other conveniences in line with global standards and recommended practices. The improvements in physical extension of the passenger handling area is by one and a-half times or 150 per cent more than its previous size. Three new hi-tech conveyor systems have also been installed in this new section since early this year. Already, this has been easing the experience of passengers who now enjoy faster processing of their luggage and personal effects. The new conveyor systems can process the luggage of a 1,000 passengers per hour. Passenger processing is now faster and the congestion has been eradicated in line with the Aviation Road map initiated by the Honourable Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah. The ongoing remodeling has led to an expansion of about 25% as against the former operational area, in expectation of the expected passenger growth. The new facility is part of the strategy by the President Jonathan Goodluck to make Murtala Mohammed International Airport, the preferred regional hub in the West African sub- region. The Managing Director of FAAN, Mr George Uriesi, who personally supervised the operation expressed appreciation to Immigration, Customs and other security organisations for their support.
