If the Honourable minister has said that the Maiduguri-PH rail line is still undergoing work. You wouldn't have seen my post. But, I got angry when he said, the project is almost complete and I find that insulting to the people of Rivers State.

Note something, I never responded the honourable minister claim on other projects accross the country cos I am not on ground to verify his claims. I am more interested on what is going on in my domain. If you go through my threads, I applauded them for the pace of work going at East-West road. I don't join issues, just to join the bandwagon. Go through my threads and comments. You will see I have been balance. I am more interested with benefits my state gets from every angle.

You don't know how I tackle my state Government on twitter, facebook, forums and so on. Strictly on development in my state.

Sometimes I pay my personal transport to ascertain if our commissioner of works is on point on some of his press releases. I have also taken my time to visit some projects going on in my state going as far as asking the contractors questions. There was a particular time I visit a certain bridge going on around my neighbourhood every sunday to see the progress of work. And if am not satisfy, I quickly send my complains to them.

Even though I have never criticised Amaechi here doesn't mean I don't agree on some issues levelled against him. But, I try my best in clarifying where necessary and leave the rest for posterity to judge.
Just some months back a train moved from the railway station in "Station" Waterlines to Enugu..it was to test both the tracks and also carry equipments...a thread was created on that in nairaland here and it made it to front page

Politics / Letter To Jonathan: Al-mustapha Challenges Obasanjo To Public Debate by awodman: 2:58pm On Dec 25, 2013
Mr. Al-Mustapha said he has forgiven everyone involved in his incarceration.

The former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State, Sani Abacha, Hamza Al-Mustapha, has reacted to postulations by former president Olusegun Obasanjo in his famous letter to President Goodluck Jonathan that he (Al-Mustapha) was released from prison to help the president train assassins to eliminate opposition politicians.

Speaking to the Hausa Service of the Voice of America,
VOA, monitored in Abuja on Wednesday, Mr. Al-Mustapha
challenged the ex-president to a public debate on the
allegations he raised.

Mr. Al-Mustapha said he was away in India receiving
treatment for injuries he sustained while in detention
during the administrations of Abdulsalami Abubakar and
Mr. Obasanjo when he heard of the allegations via a letter
published exclusively by PREMIUM TIMES.

“I read Obasanjo’s letter and subsequent comments by
Nigerians, I would have responded immediately, but I was away in India receiving treatment,” he said.

He also said although his name was not mentioned in the
letter, he was sure the former president was referring to
him.

“If he has anything to say on me, he should mention me
directly or even challenge me and not make allusions,” Mr. Al-Mustapha said.

The former presidential security chief challenged Mr.
Obasanjo to publicly ask him anything; saying he would
provide him with answers.

Mr. Al-Mustapha swore that the allegation that he is being
used by Mr. Jonathan to train assassins is false. He said he has always been in the vanguard of coming to the aide of people from the north to be recruited into the military and para-military agencies; and would therefore never involve himself in anything that would hurt the region.

“Perhaps it is Obasanjo and his cronies that are planning
what he was insinuating,” he added.

I have forgiven all

Mr. Al-Mustapha said he had decided to forgive all those
who had a hand in his incarceration when he was being
tried for the murder of Kudirat Abiola, wife of the winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Kudirat Abiola. He was initially convicted for the murder by a Lagos High
Court but was discharged and acquitted by the Court of
Appeal.

He, however, added that such people, including Mr.
Obasanjo failed to accept that fact and still harbour fears
about him and what he knows about them.

“I urge everyone to pray for Obasanjo to accept my
challenge for a public debate so that the truth will come
out,” he said.

Mr. Al-Mustapha said he is focused on helping Nigeria find
its rhythm by uniting the people, especially the youth and the poor.

“From 1974 to the present, a lot of things are buried with all sorts of lies. But all would be revealed one day,” Mr. Al- Mustapha said.

Politics / Re: Budget 2014: Lagos-ibadan, Other Federal Roads To Gulp N100bn by awodman: 10:13am On Dec 25, 2013

According to the proposal, N20 billion naira was allocated
to Lagos-Ibadan Expressway; N20 billion was budgeted
for Lokoja-Abuja Road; N10 billion naira to go for Benin-
Ore-Sahagamu Road, while Calabar- Katsina Ala Road has
N5 billion.

Other roads targeted through the Sure-P fund include
Kano-Maiduguri dualisation, which got N12 billion; Port
Harcourt-Enugu-Onisha with N11 billion; second Niger
Bridge with N10 billion naira as counterparts funding,
while special presidential intervention across the country
was allocated N12 billion
.
The long running East - West Road was also
accommodated with a whopping sum of thirty billion
naira, while Oweto Bridge got N7 billion.
[quote]

This is Sure-p funds aside from the main line budget...very commendable..if all these money can be released and utilized judiciously we will make remarkable progress

[quote]
The budget proposal also targeted investment in rail
transportation, with Lagos-Ibadan getting N5 billion naira; Port-Hacourt-Maiduguri rail revitalisation allocated N16 billion and Abuja-Kaduna rail covering track and rolling stock got a total sum of N22 billion naira.
Does this mean the Lagos-Ibadan Standard guage line will finally kick-off next year?...if yes..very good development

building and installation of oxygen/other gases generating plant at N70m; construction of VIP Wing -N1.3bn; completion of extension of Dental Wing, N50m; construction of central sterilising building,N50m and the provision of MRI building and mortuary conversion at the cost of N17.5m. An X-ray machine will be purchased at a cost of N35m;mammography machine, N60m; embalming machine,N1.65m and hydraulic post-mortem table,N4m. The purchase of sports kits for the State House Sports Club will gulp N4. 2m.

Which past govt did something like this?...let's even get down to states...does any state govt list the components of their budget like this;ltem by item

Now they have been listed for us as citizens we can participate by looking at the items and encourage the National Assembly to remove those we find either unnecessary or wasteful...That is how democracy deepens

I consider your post on this thread very unfortunate. How do we reconcile your post with the statement below, which you made prior to GEJ's rebuttal?

https://www.nairaland.com/ba7man/posts/1
What is clear is that you and other APC e-warriors are perpetually looking for faults to use against GEJ and sustain the barrage of attacks on him. This is why many people believe that the hatred you and other APC e-warriors have for GEJ is born out of tribal bigotry and nothing more.
I have tried as much as possible to restrain from tagging ba7man as tribalist or a full fledged APC member but the harder I try..the more he shows me reasons to rightly give him that name

Since, as President, you also served for many years as
Minister of Petroleum Resources, you very well know the
workings of the corporation.

Apt!...GEJ reminds us how the oil industry was run during Obj's time

What I have not done is to influence the electoral process to favour our Party. You were definitely never so inclined,
since you openly boasted in your letter of how you
supported Alhaji Shehu Shagari against Chief Obafemi
Awolowo, Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe and others in the 1979
presidential elections while serving as a military Head of
State. You and I clearly differ in this regard, because as
the President of Nigeria, I believe it is my duty and
responsibility to create a level playing field for all parties
and all candidates.

GEJ simply telling Obj No..I don't rig elections like you..

Travel / Expanded Terminal Opens At Murtala Muhammad Airport Lagos(photos) by awodman: 4:13pm On Dec 22, 2013
Press Release

Expanded Terminal opens at Lagos airport.

Passengers flying through the Murtala Muhammed
International Airport, Lagos to other parts of the
world were giving a pleasant Xmas surprise with
the opening of the new departure/screening points
of the terminal at about 6.00 am on Saturday,
December 21, 2013.

The extended Departure Hall feature 5 nos state –
of-the-art screening machines and 2 nos Body
Scanner at each of the wings in addition 30 nos
new immigration counters. A distinguishing feature
of the new screening machines is the ability to
detect explosive materials and potential threat
items real time with the lowest rate of false alarm.

The introduction of 30 nos new immigration
counters as against the previous 9 nos has taken
passenger facilitation to another level.

The extended Departure consists of 14 check-in
counters, seven hand-luggage X-ray machines and
eight walk-through body scanners at the E finger.

The facility is equipped with 11 toilet facilities for
both male and female passengers, as well as
disabled persons. The new extension comes with
commercial offerings. These duty free shops will
afford passengers the opportunity for last minute
shopping, refreshments and other conveniences in
line with global standards and recommended
practices.

The improvements in physical extension of the
passenger handling area is by one and a-half times
or 150 per cent more than its previous size. Three
new hi-tech conveyor systems have also been
installed in this new section since early this year.
Already, this has been easing the experience of
passengers who now enjoy faster processing of
their luggage and personal effects. The new
conveyor systems can process the luggage of a
1,000 passengers per hour. Passenger processing is
now faster and the congestion has been eradicated
in line with the Aviation Road map initiated by the
Honourable Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella
Oduah.

The ongoing remodeling has led to an expansion of
about 25% as against the former operational area,
in expectation of the expected passenger growth.
The new facility is part of the strategy by the
President Jonathan Goodluck to make Murtala
Mohammed International Airport, the preferred
regional hub in the West African sub- region.

The Managing Director of FAAN, Mr George Uriesi,
who personally supervised the operation expressed
appreciation to Immigration, Customs and other
security organisations for their support.
