D1official: You sound unintelligent, please pardon me for being blunt with you! Atheism is neither an Order nor Religion. It is just a word that describes the views that there is no universal being that acts like the traffic Warden in humans' lives. If you believe that god exist but can't prove his existence, except quoting some verses written by drunkards and people who constantly hallucinate. I on the other hand, do not believe he does exist, because I cannot prove he truly does exist. Who is Madder? 6 Likes |

emmayayodeji: Believe me, I've seen worst. I have even created a topic to that effect. Often times, people who know my views about religion take me to be the devil's first born. I just catch fun in the process if I like to or simply smile at their ignorance. Most times I tell them one day they will see the light and they will be like ''god forbid''. 2 Likes 1 Share |

emmayayodeji: I do not pretend about my position on issues. I know my worth and it is not attached to my religious stance. I was only employed because I am qualified to work there. So if knowing that I share no same belief with my employer will make me less qualified, then I take my leave. At my work place currently, every Friday from 8:00am-9:00am ( 1 long hour), they hold fellowship where ''men of god'' are often invited to come minister. I had to communicate my boss, telling him where I stand in terms of religion. He weighed my inputs against the effect of having an Atheist in his organization. The outcome I resume work 9:00am every Fridays, and it has been that for exactly one year and three months today. Do not pretend about who you are, because you fear you may get fired. 1 Like |

Okay, so I saw a post on Facebook bashing the APC Chieftain and accusing him of swindling Lagos State. So I decided to create this thread, listing some investments that have been linked to Bola Tinubu. P.S: there is no confirmed source about whether Tinubu owns these businesses. But I'm sure you must have heard people linking him with these investments. If you have a way of confirming any on the list, please do. Now let's roll. 1. Oriental Hotel 2. Falomo Shopping Complex 3. First Nation Airline 4. Lekki Concession Company 5. Apapa Amusement Park 6. Maiyegun Land Project 7. The Nation Newspaper 8. Renaissance Hotel 9. Tejuoso Market (Joint ownership) 10. Politics / Oxford Scholar Recommends Jonathan’s Youwin To Developing Countries by Axelrod(m): 11:17am On Jul 09, 2017 |
AN Oxford University scholar James Burton who recently conducted a research on the success of Jonathan administration’s Youth Enterprise with Innovation (YouWin) programme has recommended it as a model for Africa and other developing countries, for enterprise growth. He added that the World Bank and many other organizations are now looking to replicate YouWin’s success, in other countries. Burton described YouWin under Jonathan as a highly efficient economic programme, that even out-performed the United States fiscal stimulus, quoting a World Bank-funded study, led by senior economist David McKenzie. Citing the McKenzie report, he wrote: “YouWin even compared favourably with United States fiscal stimulus, proving 44% more efficient than government spending and 130% more efficient than tax cuts.” The study further emphasised that YouWin performed better than similar initiatives when compared with efforts specifically targeted at employment generation around the world, the affirming that the numbers were deeply impressive. Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan “McKenzie found that YouWin was two and halftimes as efficient as a 2013 management consulting program in Mexico, four and a halftimes as efficient as a 2014 wage subsidy program in Jordan and almost ten times as efficient as a 2011 vocational training program in Turkey.” The report which is contained in Reno Omokri’s new book ‘Facts Versus Fiction: The True Story of the Jonathan Years, Chibok 2015 and the conspiracies’ quoted the World Bank study to have “found that by the end of the programme’s third year it had directly generated approximately 7,027 jobs.” Espousing the success of the programme Burton noted McKenzie confessed in the study that his “extremely conservative” assumption that all YouWin firms would close-down in one year was proved down. “In fact, YouWin surveys taken in October 2016 show that YouWin-1 awardees currently employ 7951 people, Youwin-2 awardees employ 6572 people and Youwin-3 awardees employ 11,816 people. My in-depth interviews with over 50 Nigerian entrepreneurs, half of which are YouWin awardees and half who applied for the program unsuccessfully, has suggested several clear reasons for the programs success in facilitating business growth.” He noted that primarily, YouWin effectively gave awardees the resources to overcome key barriers to growing their businesses and helped them to mitigate the risks of operating an early stage venture in Nigeria’s challenging business environment. “When the Jonathan government first proposed YouWin, it was heavily criticized and many still doubt its efficacy despite clear evidence in its favour. Giving such large sums to so many early stage firms in a country like Nigeria was unheard of five years ago and, though the World Bank and many other organizations are now looking to replicate YouWin’s success, the model remains rare. Hopefully, future African heads of state will see similar potential in their own entrepreneurs and have the courage to support it.” According to him, the programme succeeded because former President Jonathan took special interest in and personally supervised its processes. “Beyond financial support, the president (Jonathan) also took a special interest in the YouWin awardees, many see him as the father of their businesses and display pictures of or with him in their offices. In 2014, Jonathan called for an exhibition in Abuja which allowed many of the successful awardees to model their products. He went around to each stall individually, meeting the entrepreneurs and admiring what they had produced. “After the event, he asked for sit-down meetings with a sample of the awardees. One such entrepreneur remembers the experience vividly. He describes Jonathan’s protocol staff prepping the awardees on what to say and what not to say to the president. They were to be entirely complementary about their experience. However, as the young business owner tells it, the president immediately threw protocol out the window, dismissing his staff and requesting one-on-one meetings with each participant. The president asked them what barriers they faced and how he could help. “In this case, the entrepreneur explained that he had been having great trouble getting approval for his products from the National Agency of Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). He complained that small businesses could not afford to jump through endless hoops, wait months for feedback or pay consultants to help them navigate the process. Within weeks, the president had mandated that there be an expedited NAFDAC process for Small and Medium enterprise and a specific desk was set up to service their needs. Some YouWin awardees even had their application fees waived entirely. “One awardee, the founder of a robotics company that went on to produce everything from hand held consumer devices to military grade drones, complained that financiers did not understand what a robotics company did in the early days and largely still don’t. He applied to several banks before YouWin and despite showing clear market need and healthy financials, he was unsuccessful in every case. “The founder of a recycling company tells a similar story. He approached all the major banks for loans before YouWin and was turned away. As it happened, his wife worked behind the desk of a microfinance institution at the time and he recalls how dejectedly he approached her with his hat in hand, only to be denied equally quickly. The equipment he purchased with his YouWin grant helped him to grow the business from an annual turnover of around 500,000 Naira to 50 million Naira in just under 2 years. Burton further affirmed that YouWin supported many entrepreneurs that were not independently wealthy and could not have simply borrowed necessary capital from friends and family. “Without such financing, most respondents felt that their firms would be years behind in growth or have been forced to close their doors by now. Though many of them overestimate this impact, the McKenzie data shows that plenty of them are right. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/07/oxford-scholar-recommends-jonathans-youwin-developing-countries/

Politics / President Buhari Suffers Speech Impairment In London - Sahara Reporters. by Axelrod(m): 5:44pm On Jun 20, 2017 |
President Muhammad Buhari, who left Nigeria 45 days ago to resume treatment for an undisclosed medical condition believed to be cancer, has developed speech difficulties, presidency sources said today. Previously, Mr. Buhari was also said to be suffering memory lapses. The latest revelation stems from recent attempts to return the President to Nigeria by members of a cabal managing his health and using it to deceive Nigerians. Several of President Buhari’s aides who traveled with him are reportedly not in touch with him, reports say, while others were ordered to return to Nigeria, with nobody having any certainty about the prospects of Mr. Buhari’s date of return. During his last trip Saharareporters revealed that his London doctors rejected the idea of his returning to work. They asked that he remained in London for four months to see how best they could treat his illness. Nonetheless, the cabal managing the president brought him back to enable him to undertake a number of acts including military postings and appointments that would have been impossible with an acting President on seat. At that time, Buhari revealed he had been very ill and had received blood transfusion, and indicated he would soon return to the UK for further treatment. During the period he was in Nigeria, he was rarely seen outside, but managed to attend a few Federal Executive Council meetings which he left as soon as the photo opportunities were done with. Two weeks after that return, his condition deteriorated and doctors had to be flown in from the UK to embark on treatment, but that phase lasted only for a few weeks. The president then stopped attending the weekly FEC altogether, but to maintain the ruse that he was healthy, members of the cabal would shepherd him to the mosque on Fridays hoping to generate sentiments within the core Muslim north where a rumor had circulated that the president had been “poisoned”. Buhari eventually left for the UK abruptly on the evening of May 7, shortly after meeting with some Chibok girls who had been released the previous day by Boko Haram. Although Buhari spoke at the event, his voice was barely audible, as he had lost a lot of weight, his condition reportedly complicated by Crohn’s Disease. When the President was leaving for the airport, he shocked his aides when he asked if they were going to Sokoto, perhaps one of the first signs of his deteriorating memory. It has now been learnt that President Buhari has not spoken to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo by telephone since his departure. Only last week, the Acting President was asked to await a phone call from Mr. Buhari but when a call eventually came in, nothing coherent was heard from Mr. Buhari, despite the cabal having kept telling people of his “tremendous” improvement. The cabal is also reportedly behind the rumors of a possible coup by some military officers a couple of weeks ago, as well as the recent quit notice by some Northern youths to the Igbos in that area, which they figured would make western countries view such an attempt with understanding if they thought the action would protect Nigeria as an indivisible entity. Meanwhile, several top western diplomats including the Ambassadors of the US and the UK, are scheduled to meet with Acting President Osinbajo in the coming days. It is unclear if at that meeting the UK will brief Osinbajo regarding Buhari’s exact condition, but a State Department official told Saharareporters that they are more concerned about Nigeria. http://saharareporters.com/2017/06/20/buhari-suffers-speech-impairment-london
