MEET ENDY STEVENS, THE NEW DEAL IN CORPORATE EMCEEING. The lights shine down and the music from the D.J's turn-table surrounds him as he makes his way across the stage onto the spotlight. The audience roars its approval as the music gradually fades. This is followed by a deep baritonal voice kissing the microphone as he effortlessly and expertly begins his opening speech. It is just another workday for stage sensation, Endy Stevens. At 30, the Abuja based Masters of Ceremonies, whose niche is in the ''Corporate events'', is taking the industry by storm. "I cherish every moment on stage, surrounded by the lights, the music and beautiful people, speaking to an audience and hearing their applause," Endy said. "It's something most people will never feel, but it's one of the best feelings anyone could ever imagine." As exciting as it is, being an Emcee (MC) can also be overwhelming. "It is surprising that I was able to go straight onto the stage with my little or no real time experience'' he admitted. "But it is also more work and more pressure being new, because everyone else has so much more experience." “I do not allow too much pressure get to me though, because I feel that my work comes from within me and my creative imagination, not from outer influences” said Endy Stevens, who views himself as an artist rather than just an MC. He discovered the art of speaking to an audience in his secondary school days. During breaks in school, he would gather his friends and summarise the lessons. He was fondly the ''go between'' guy in his class. Endy's desire to learn the art influenced his choice of course he studied in the university. Following his graduation from secondary school, Endy applied and gained admission into the Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH, where he studied Mass Communication and graduated in 2016. He took a one year intensive training and mentoring with MC Sam, an Abuja based MC and Comedian. “It was a dream come true for me, and I was really overcome with joy, when I first mounted the stage” said Endy, who is gaining popularity among events organizers and managers in Abuja. In this fast rising journey of his, he has covered events of all kinds and he sure is a strong force to reckon with. DJ Bass, an Abuja based DJ has this to say about Endy Stevens "Endy demands a lot from himself. He will not accept anything that is not excellent. He is very easy to work with, and because he is, you want to work with him." As the media begin to beam the spotlight on him, he is sure his schedule is about to get a lot more hectic. But Endy is ready. This is what he's trained for. "My love for anchoring and emceeing events keeps me going, even after a hard day or a disappointing one," he said. "I just think about how much I love it, and it's my dream. And I have never been one to quit or, trust me, I would have quit already. Anchoring events is very demanding, and you have to be a strong person to take the criticism and hard work. But with each event I cover, I hope to improve and achieve something new” he said. ojoshu:State? |
Where is your location? State and area determines to a great extent how much you spend in events. Of you're doing a birthday in say Iyana Ipaja for instance, the cost is most definitely going to be less than when it is held in VI. Consider those factors and you're on your way to a successful event. Anyways, for MC and if it's in Abuja, I can help you out for an affordable price. 08064286492 |

HeyCorleone:Exactly! Just like that meme of Lai Mohammed that says the President is doing lots of projects but that the projects are too big for Nigerians to see. I don't know if he actually made the statement! ![]() |
From my personal observation, I have come to the conclusion that the most used phrase by the President Muhammadu Buhari's supporters is A robust economy. Daily on the programme, Sunrise Daily by Channels TV, whenever members of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, are brought on to the show, they keep repeating the words; ''The President is putting everything in place to ensure a ROBUST ECONOMY''. Or, ''the president has ensured that everything is in place for a ROBUST ECONOMY''. Or, ''Nigerians can tell how the President took us away from recession and handed us a ROBUST ECONOMY''. His online supporters are not left out. You can easily find the combination in Sarrki, NgeneUkwenu, Usba, yarimo, Omenkalives, Mynd44's comments here on Nairaland and other members of his ''Supporters' Club''. The combination of the words; ROBUST and ECONOMY seems to be the creed of the government and its supporters. My question is: do we really have a robust economy? Are they trying to appeal to psyche by infusing the phrase? What do you say? |
pocohantas:You get mind! Salute. It's a prison to guys. I do not wish it for my enemy. You keep hoping one day she will realise you're there. Keep hoping and wishing her relationship hits the rock so you can step in. You can be there for years. Well, that's in the past now Shaa. I've learnt the hard way. Now, na me dey friendzone babes! Sweet! ![]() |
pocohantas:You're funny. Yeah, we're generous. Most times out of pity for the lady in question. That should not in any case, be interpreted that we lack ''choice'' which is the bone of contention here. Meanwhile, this phrase is hilarious: ever ready to administer. ![]() |
pocohantas:That's my point. Some ladies do not want to accept the fact that guys have the right to turn down advances. |
Hello Nairaland Community, I trust your weekend has started on the right footing. I have had issues dealing with ladies I do not consider ''sexually appealing'' to me. Even though I like some of them, I take them as either friends or sisters. But I have been called ''rude'', ''full of myself'', ''show-off'', etc, for simply not sharing the feeling of the opposite sex. Most ladies block you and begin to act very petty because they were rejected. I take it that ladies generally do not know how to handle rejection. Whereas, guys get rejected and friendzoned on daily basis. I have suffered not less than three friend zones, I have been there. Now that I think I have it going down well with me and with proper packaging, don't I have the right to accept or turn down advances? Guys share your thoughts. How do you manage the situation where you're not sexually attracted to a Lady? Ladies, how do you handle rejection? Or friendzone? |
psychologist:Where you get that picture from guy? That's First Bank ATM Gallery, Check Point, opposite GTB Nyanya, Abuja. Hahahahaha. I know Nigeria. |
lordkush:Lol |
Nbote:That's what it looks like |
When it comes to ''badmouthing'', give it to Nigerians. See what a Twitter user said about M.I Abaga on twitter,

Mexzy4sho:You funny! There should just give us the trophy then. If we must be taken seriously, we have to prove it by taking on recognized opponents. After all we defeated Argentina, remember ![]() |
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been placed in pot four as Peru completed the line-up of 32 teams for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, completing the seeding pots for the Final Draw on 1 December. The Organising Committee for FIFA Competitions confirmed earlier in September, that all teams will be allocated to (eight-team) pots 1 to 4 based on sporting principles. The October 2017 edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be used to allocate all qualified teams to the four pots according to their ranking in descending order, after hosts Russia, who take the top seeding spot. With those factors in mind, here are the final pots for the Final Draw: The Final Draw will take place on Friday 1 December at Moscow’s State Kremlin Palace. It is worth remembering that the principle of drawing the teams into the groups will remain unchanged. With the seeding, it means no teams from the same confederation, with the exception of UEFA, which could have up to two teams in the same group, will be drawn into the same group. http://saharareporterssport.com/nigeria-in-pot-4-as-fifa-unveils-plan-for-final-draw/
