This is a very beautiful story. Thanks for sharing this with us. Revenge isn't the answer because it always leaves all parties involved bitter at heart.
I love the twists and turns in the story. Nice thriller |

Education › Re: The Untold Story Of TASUED Redemption by Ayanfe29(f): 4:47pm On Apr 29, 2019 |
Continue to rest in the bosom of the Almighty, Humble Tjay.... you legacy in RotaTasued lives on!!!! Honbabajide: The Untold Story Of TASUED’s Redemption. Written by Oyewole Moshood Ankaurspeaks, edited by Adegbite Ayodeji Doybet Once upon a Valentines Day… Six years ago my perception about Valentine's Day changed. Or perhaps witnessed a rebirth! The 14th of February 2012 was bloody and sad. Students that got admitted into Tai Solarin University of Education after this incident might not really understand what we went through, but for most of us that fought against the proposed scrapping of the school by the then state government, the entire days of February 2012 were black. It was a black February! We put our life's on the line for the continuous existence of TASUED and one life was taken to redeem us all, to redeem TASUED! The life of a gallant and courageous comrade, the life of an humble man, the life of comrade Olatunji Fashina PKA Humble TJ. It all started some weeks after the Student Union elections in 2012, the election that brought in the Welfarism team. While planning for the swearing in ceremony, the rumour about the scrapping of TASUED began to spread amongst students like wild fire. Majority of the student began to panic; some took the courage to ask questions while others debunked the rumour and called it false. The elected Student Union officials and the public relation officer of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) who happens to be a student of the University was invited for an urgent meeting at the vice chancellor's office by the school management, it was then revealed to us the purported plans by the state government to scrap the school. The elected Student Union officials and some vibrant Alutarians moved swiftly into action. We decided to visit a press center- Iwe-Iroyin- at Abeokuta to show our grievances against the callous intention of the state government. We took an Aluta Jet, but en route the location, after our bus had only moved some meters away from the school gate, we heard the shocking information from a radio station "the pronouncement to scrap our school". We remain undaunted and decided to continue our trip to Iwe Iroyin in order to accomplish our mission. On getting back to school the next day the elected officials of the Student Union Government had an indoor meeting with the school management to discuss and strategize on the next point of action. And for the first time in the history of TASUED the elected officials were sworn into office in the Vice Chancellor's office. The swearing in came earlier due to the urgent situation at hand and it wasn't ceremonious as expected. The struggle then began and it was tagged "Occupy TASUED". The pressmen had been invited and all students had been informed to occupy the school premises to show their displeasure against the Ogun state government and to also appeal to the Federal government of Nigeria to intervene and save our school. Days passed by and we heard nothing from the state or federal government despite having us on all dailies, television and radio stations. We went back to the drawing board to re-strategize and at the end we gathered from a reliable source that the state assembly will be discussing extensively on the scrapping issue on February 14 2012. The student union executives all agreed and decided to move our protest to the state secretariat on the said date. On the appointed day, which happened to be a Valentine’s Day, students were gathered at the Mini school gate and more than fifteen buses are ready to convey us to Oke-Mosan the location of the state secretariat. As agreed at the meeting, the president of the Student Union and clerk of the house was selected to visit Channels Television in Lagos, while other executives in attendance will leave for the venue in a bus before all other buses. Comrade Clement Olusegun and Com. Olatunji also joined the executive bus due to their vast experience in student Union struggle. At Abeokuta once again and our journey was smooth, or so we thought, until we heard from a radio station that Comrade Clement and some Union executives had reached an agreement with the state government to scrap the school. Comrade Clement got angry and decided to put a call through to the station to clear himself and others. On the verge of dialing the number of the radio station we heard a big blast, it was one of the bus tires that got busted, we heard the second blast and the next we saw is a bus tumbling on a highway as you would see in Hollywood movies. The bus tumbled four times and slid on the ground for several meters before it finally stopped. I and some executives found our way out of the bus, Com. Olayemi collapsed due to the shock while Com. Olatunji was trapped under the bus. We all struggled to bring them out, but I fear most for Humble TJ because I carried him and I saw him losing too much of blood. Effort was made by passersby to stop a police truck that took them to the Federal Medical Center. On getting to the hospital, the doctors urgently attended to them and Com. Layemi was revived, Com. Olatunji’s situation looked even more critical as blood was gushing out of his arm. One of the doctors approached us and said "we will have to amputate his arm". I could remember vividly that we all disagreed with the doctors and plead with them to save him with his arm intact, but they said that was the only option to keep him alive. With soberness we finally agreed with the doctors. As he was been rolled off on the wheel to the theater, we heard a voice, we heard a voice of a helpless but courageous comrade still fighting for the existence of TASUED. The last word we heard from him was TASUED! TASUED! TASUED!...that was how he signed off. If Humble TJ can still fight for Tasued when he was so weak and helpless, what are you doing to make TASUED and Nigeria a better place? Thus, this is a challenge for you and I, to engage in positive acts and move TASUED and Nigeria to the great height where it truly belongs. No one is promised tomorrow, so make the best of today, to fight for what is right, to live life fully, to love, and to impact positively. Continue to rest on my brother, God bless TASUED. Aluta Continua!!! Victoria Aserta!!! Comrade Oyewole Moshood Welfare director Welfarism 2012. |
