Stricker321:Don't get your point... Read again and digest it. Your point is incoherent. |
idupaul:Its so easy to let loose so much under the influence of oral Diarrhea. Nobody is justifying anything... only educating us of the causes and occurrence of friendly fire. Read this: https://www.nairaland.com/3578266/foreigners-mock-nigeria-over-accidental Refrain from using insults... It shows poor character. |
onnenka:Stupid and Yoruba don't apply to me... Clearly, your logic is bitterly flawed,. |
midol:who is the Muslim you speak of? and Yoruba? not connecting... |
Backgrounder: https://www.nairaland.com/3578266/foreigners-mock-nigeria-over-accidental War is a terrible thing I'm sure we'll all agree and Nigeria is witnessing its share however how small. One of the negatives of war is the case of 'friendly fire'. Unlike the name there is nothing friendly about the fire, it is a term describing an incident where forces inflicts damage on its own side, this could be as a result of equipment malfunction, weather influence, poor navigation, and yes... human error. The damages can be inform of loss of lives, assets and others. For those informed Nigeria recently experienced one involving the Airforce. Before we start cursing... suffice to say not unique to Nigeria nor Third World Countries... below are similar occurrence across the globe. In the Tarnak Farm incident of 18 April 2002, four Canadian soldiers were killed and eight others injured when U.S. Air National Guard Major Harry Schmidt, dropped a laser-guided 500 lb (230 kg) bomb from his F-16 jet fighter on the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry regiment which was conducting a night firing exercise near Kandahar. Schmidt was charged with negligent manslaughter, aggravated assault, and dereliction of duty. He was found guilty of the latter charge. During testimony Schmidt blamed the incident on his use of "go pills" (authorized mild stimulants), combined with the 'fog of war'. The Canadian dead received US medals for "bravery", AND an apology. In Sangin Province, a RAF Harrier pilot mistakenly strafed British troops missing the enemy by 200 metres during a firefight with the Taliban on 20 August 2006. This angered British Major James Loden of 3 PARA, who in a leaked email called the RAF, "Completely incompetent and utterly, utterly useless in protecting ground troops in Afghanistan". Operation Medusa (2006): 1 – Two U.S. A-10 Thunderbolts accidentally strafed NATO forces in southern Afghanistan, killing Canadian Private Mark Anthony Graham. 23 August 2007: A USAF F-15 called in to support British ground forces in Afghanistan dropped a bomb on those forces. Three privates of the 1st Battalion, the Royal Anglian Regiment, were killed and two others were severely injured. It was later revealed that the British forward air controller who called in the strike had not been issued a noise-cancelling headset, and while he supplied the correct target co-ordinates, in the confusion and stress of the battle incorrectly confirmed one wrong digit mistakenly repeated by the pilot, and the bomb landed on the British position 1000 metres away from the enemy. The coroner at the soldiers' inquest stated that the incident was due to "flawed application of procedures" rather than individual errors or "recklessness". On 26 September 2007, British soldiers in operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, fired Javelin anti-tank missiles at Danish soldiers from the Royal Life Guards, killing two. It is also confirmed from Danish forces that the British fired a total of 6–8 Javelin missiles, over a 1½ hour period and only after the attack was completed did they realize that the missiles were British, based upon the fragments found after the incident. folks keep blabbing... "terrorists that have been defeated?'' like they're supposed to stay defeated... its a war... RIP to the dead... this is an added reason for equipment upgrade in the NAF. |

Wow A PICTURE they say is worth a thousand words. Won't say more than that. |
Yes ... You're right. Thats the onlllyyy boat we've got. Ghana and South Africa only have new shinny boats. |
FX:Happy married life... YOUR union shall be lasting and fruitful in Jesus Name... Amen. #God_speed. |
Dharnchuks:Seriously!!! Thought I was going to have to S P E L L it out. |
ElekeNtioba:there is something poetic about this statement.... but...Too much colour... #language |
maiquel:Intentional Misleading Title... OP has a loose screw... #No_Offense |
bidexiii:guess this means you partially agree with me... because I'm not privy to the direct feed from the drones... only what I see on the net (Pictures and videos). My comment is simply on the picture quality I've seen. Kudos to you for your efforts... believe it or not, it has improved the image of the armed forces significantly. |
bidexiii:This is so much clearer than what we've been getting from Nigeria's UAVs... |
why not solid minerals? while seeking to diversify our source of crude seems reasonable... our economy deserves more. The sad part is this seems more like the North trying to cover its own end. what we need is Economic Diversification (a shift from mono-economy)... like we've forgotten the scenario that played out when supply for oil outweighed demand. #agriculture #solid minerals (iron ore, gold, etc.), #tourism, #education... etc. anyways... we hope for the BEST... #interesting days ahead. |
Anyone notice how crisp and clear the pictures are? Nice development. |
hinwazaka: I wish you'd have the BALLS to say this in a video.which president or leader since the inception of Nigeria can boast of the Knowledge of economics? Kindly refrain from being derogatory. all you've done is complain and pass insults... yet you have provided no solution. Makes me wonder if you have any knowledge of economics. PMB may not be the most equipped to manage this country (he likely isn't) but thanks to democracy he is in. Best give him the support he needs and ensure he doesn't return again. |
hmmmm from the comments posted... it is clear Nigerians have lost faith in WORDS. . . . and.. they sadly bastardize action with the gleam of ethnocentrism and whatnot. |
Nigerians and Double standards... Please... we should learn to critically assess national issues without rubbishing our status as educated people. Everyone is innocent until declared guilty by a competent court. Because his name is Muslim or Northern shouldn't mean anything. He's another man who stands accused. If he's guilty... Send Him to the Gallows... no media trials please. |
Built2last:I understand your position... I'm from Kogi state... But... its not written anywhere the state he's from... unless this tiredness has blurred my reading abilities. I'm Guessing he's NUPE and not HAUSA. As long as he does his job effectively... I'm good and btw... WHY IS THERE NO SOUTH-CENTRAL? Please Bring the #MiddleBelt Back. No More political Misrepresentation. |
Seriously! If you know little or nothing about economics and aren't interested in learning its best you refrain from commenting. Jeez! can any government please you? ![]() This Policy is much better than the said fine... as long as it is properly implemented. Lets run through this briefly: which is better? A foreign company making loads of money from Nigeria and shipping all their profit out of the country for years and years without Nigerian's benefiting Directly from the success of the Business while settling a tiny-tiny debt? Let us benefit from the company. I just hope the shares are reasonable enough. The policy is good... the work lies in the IMPLEMENTATION. More foreign companies should be made to reserve a bulk of their shares to Nigerians... its time for us to reap from the wealth we create. God Bless Nigeria. |
Lawmakers should speedily take advantage of the momentum and push forward a bill to that effect. Lets end this once and for all. God Bless Nigeria. |

I wish you'd have the BALLS to say this in a video.
can any government please you?
