I think something's are not too fine from some of your responses here. Most of your answers are one word. Like; uncle, yes, no, master and stuff. For every such answer and you expected to support them with more positive responses. Like (1) who is your sponsor? My uncle has agreed to sponsor/ support me. He has been in charge of my education right from my secondary school. He has given me support letter and statement in regards. He works.....
(2) Highest qualification. Master degree in bla bla which is why I am going for my Phd in bla bla........Relate it to the program you are going for.
3) Are you married? No I am married. I plan to marry as soon as I come back to naija after completing my program. NOTE that this question is home tier. Convert it to another advantage for yourself since you are not married. I will be coming back after my program for my wedding. Do you you get the point there?
4) Do you have travel history? You are to SELL YOURSELF WELLA HERE WITH YOUR YES. Stuff like. Yes, i travel to so so place for a training relating to the program you are going for in so so place.
Don't stop talking until the V.O cuts in. But all your response must be positive responses to explain every answer s like above. BEST OF LUCK .

Hello, i applied but haven't submitted my wes transcript. Im trying to ask if they can collect the unofficial but not getting responce. Also, how long does it take for them to get back about admission status?

Unofficial transcript is not accepted in most case. Admission for fall 2022 will start around February,2022. Application will close by January ending. Though it sometimes depend on department. Try apply for scholarship as well and submit application on time. BEST OF LUCK.

So I went for my F1 visa interview today. I got the white paper but the VO told me she will be placing me on administrative processing until am able to ask my school to give me a new i20 with the TA I said they gave me in fall 2021.

But i think she didn't really hear me well. I told her i had a TA but couldn't continue due to the fact that I didn't get an early date.

Please what could this mean gurus?

You simply need to get an updated I-20 FOR the new session (maybe Spring 2022) with same T.A you got for FALL. Just contact your sch for that. And I hope that your sch will still offer you the same T.A they gave you for FALL. If not, you will need to present money that will cover your program for one year to get your VISA.

[/quote. You will request for I-20 for your spouse and children from your school , if possible along with yours. The I-20 will show the exact amount that is needed. Sometimes it is better you travel first and your family joins you latter. But if you can defend every questions smartly and with confident you can go ahead with your family. What you need now is the 1-20 in order to shchedule your interview first before vaccination. With God nothing is impossible. Best of luck.

My appointment confirmation number reads the DS160 number from my 1st Appointment which was in October, 2021 and it differs from what is on my current DS160.

How do I go about fixing it, my 2nd appointment is scheduled for December, 2021.

PLEASE IT IS LATE DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES AGAIN.JUST GO FOR THE INTERVIEW WITH FAITH IN GOD. CLAIM YOU ARE AWAITING DEFFERED LETTER TO START IN SPRING OR YOU ARE WAITING FOR EXTENTION LETTER FROM YOUR SCHOOL.

The first appearance B1/B2 in 2019 and second one was 28 ,2021 with full GA. The third is August 24.

3rd attempt at Abuja on August 24 gave me the long await VISA APPROVAL

After my rejection on June 28, I reapplied and available date was December 15. I deferred till Spring 2021.While wait for updated I-20, I keep checking available dates and re-applying for EA. EA was rejected 3 times at ABUJA from July- August 15,2021.On August 16 EA was APPROVED and I changed to September 24 with the hope that I can still make fall 2021 or just wait till Spring 2022. On August 21 I requested for another EA and it was approved within 25 minutes. Available dates was August 24 from September 24, I could not pick the date. It was so close and I stay in Lagos while interview is Abuja. (Friday 21 is not far from Tuesday 24) .After consulting my friends and wife, I picked August 24. Monday night I enter Abuja, after serious prayer and fasting.
10.AM with a young white lady.
V.O : I see you are going to Eastern Michigan UNI. with 100%G.A to for a doc. degree in Eng. Tech.
Me: I said yes ma and i completed the statement by mentioning my area of conc.
V.O : what will you do after this?
me: I will return to Nig. to take the position of the country manager in R& in my company
V.O: SHE checked where i work in her system and mentioned it.
me: Yes ma.
v.o: Is your wife travelling with you?
ME: No, she enjoys her career here in Nig. she works in an oil n gas firm( I mentioned the name) as Professional accountant and she has given her support and consent to start the program.
V.O: your VISA will be approved.
ME: I was shocked, just like that. All the questions i prepared for have not been asked. I tried to pay attention to what she was saying after getting the white paper but i did not hear much other corvid 19.... restriction.
I was crying that wao...... this is God. People taught I was rejected. Mean while i dressed very very causal and people were actually looking at me that do i really come for interview. Thank God for everything. This is just to encourage someone, don't give up until you hit the target.

My EA was approved and I have picked September 24 for appointment as earliest date. My program starts August 27.
1.Can I still travel after September 24 after VISA approval?
2. Wouldn't that raise an issue for VO especially the dates?
3. Should I defer and attend interview with new I-20 for spring if i-20 will be available by then?
Please what is the best option?

Update using the new DS 160 code with that your appointment should automatically update to the new barcode. Best wishes!

Ur reason for why d school and the program are not strong enough. Let ur first few sentences answer the VOs question before u continue with the other supporting stories. But believe me ur reasons are not strong OR let me say the way u delivered ur points was weak. Establish how the program will help ur career when u get back and try to go straight to the point. Ofcourse for F1 visa at that age(except u r a lecturer in Nigeria OR u r going for MBA or ur company is sponsoring you), u have a lot of convincing to do, and its not about how much u say BUT the quality of what u say and how u deliver ur points.
Are u also sure, what u filled in previous DS160 doesnt contradict what u filled now.

Sorry about the denial. I noticed you talked to much but mostly spewing word that doesn't connect and very generic.

Are you married?

I am married with three kids. This is a yes or no response. You mentioned three children and you encouraged the VO to ask another question on the children. Also, does what you filled for your B1/B2 application tally in times with your F1. Do you have three children then too? Even with full ride scholarships the 3 children tells the VO you have lots of responsibility & I am not sure you had full ride cos I noticed you mentioned personal savings. To be sincere a lot of things needs to be set right if you choose to go for another interview. The US embassy is not where to rush to but address the possible red flags before reapplying & you also didn't help yourself by not posting the school. I am sure if you are going to an ivy league you would have posted...lol

Thanks so much for your advice. I really agree with the points you raised. The sch. is Eastern Michigan University. One last question, is it proper to say self sponsor, even if you have full or part scholarship in the form or at interview? Do one really need to present Proof of funds more than one year if he is on G.A?

mE. It is part of the money available to me as i have secured GA position. That is where the issue start from. Tuition differential is appearing under funds available for me. Total funds i need is $41,357 and deficit of $423 and funds available is $44,937. My personal funds is $4000.

In my I-20, UNDER FUNDS AVAILABLE I HAVE PERSONAL FUNDS $4,000,TUITION DIFFERENTIAL $12,879 AND ON CAMPUS EMPLOYEMENT IS $28,453.THEY ARE ROUND FIGGURE,NOTE THIS IS INFORMATION IS FOR THE READER, NOT TO THE V.O.
