Politics › Oba Of Lagos Blames Obasanjo, not Jonathan For Nigeria’s Woes by Ayed44(op): 8:50pm On Jan 08, 2015
The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, on Thursday
said President Goodluck Jonathan should not be
blamed for the problems of Nigeria.
Oba Akiolu said this while receiving the president
Jonathan at his palace in Lagos.
He said that many of the problems in the country
predated the Jonathan administration.
Mr. Jonathan was in Lagos State for the flag-off of
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP’s) presidential
campaign at the Tafawa Balewa Square.
He was at the Oba’s palace to pay homage to him
and seek his blessings before going to the
campaign venue.
Mr. Akiolu said fighting corruption was the
responsibility of every Nigerian.
“What will be, will be; God Almighty will give the
best person the opportunity to lead this country.
“Mr President, God knows the best; I am happy;
what I want are free and fair elections.
“I am happy that Mr President directed INEC to
ensure that voters’ cards are distributed to every
eligible member of the electorate,’’ he said.
He urged INEC to ensure distribution of voters’
cards, saying that Lagos had more than six
million eligible voters.
The monarch urged that security agents should
not be unfairly used against any citizen during
the general elections.
According to him, both the PDP governorship
candidate, Jimi Agbaje, and his APC counterpart,
Akinwunmi Ambode, are his children.
He said that he had presented Mr. Ambode’s
candidature for God’s blessing at the 2014 Hajj in
Saudi Arabia but noted that God would always
have the final say.
The Oba expressed confidence that Nigeria would
be more united after the elections.
Mr. Akiolu accused former President Olusegun
Obasanjo of not treating Lagos well during his
administration and leaving many problems
unsolved in the country.
Earlier, Mr. Jonathan said he went to the palace
to pay homage to the royal father and sought his
prayers and support for his ambition.
The president said that the Nigerian government
under the PDP had done much for the country,
contrary to claims by the opposition.
He said that his administration did not believe in
blowing its trumpet but determined to meet the
expectations of the citizenry.
Mr. Jonathan said his administration had revived
rail transport system, improved road network,
created jobs and implemented policies aimed at
economic advancement, among other
achievements. (NAN)

Vanpascore:
Before being MILITARY Head of State, Buhari had been Governor of one of the Northern States (under Obasanjo’s Military government) as well as Minister for Petroleum. He later served as Chairman of PTF under Abacha. Please consider the following unassailable facts: -

He birthed and supervised the establishment of our existing refineries. - There was no religious crisis while he was Head of State. It started under his successor IBB! -

In his time as Head of State he reduced inflation from 23% to 4%, by fiscal discipline and a homegrown economic team (not achieved under any other era, even military).

JJ Rawlings of Ghana took over 2 years before him, and killed all the corrupt leaders, while Buhari only sentenced the corrupt leaders here to prison.

Under his watch as PTF Chairman, what he did in road construction in that short period hasn't been matched by 12 years of the PDP. - Hospitals and universities around the country never witnessed as much benefits as they got from the PTF from any government after or before his time.

Despite serving in senior capacity in the oil sector, first as Minister for Petroleum and then Petroleum Trust Fund, Buhari has no petrol station, much less a rig, refinery or an oil block like so many of our leaders.

He could have retired into nauseating opulence like an IBB or Danjuma or even OBJ but didn't.

Instead of hobnobbing with the high and mighty, he has cast his lot with the ordinary man most of who follow him out of hope and belief in his values.People who know him have said of him... "All I need from Buhari is his word, I can take it to the bank".

He is the only politician in the North today who fills rallies without renting a crowd. The Kaduna rally of 2nd March is eloquent proof.

He refused to collect an allowance while serving as Chairman of the PTF because he said since he was already drawing a pension from government, his conscience would not allow him to draw another salary from the purse of the same government.

He is the only former head of state that does not own property or land in Abuja.

Every attempt to rubbish him through probes in time past ended up vindicating him! The man who was asked by OBJ to take over the running of PTF before it was scrapped with the aim of probing and indicting Buhari, was the one who ended up being prosecuted for misappropriating $100m of PTF funds! Buhari again, was vindicated

He has OPENLY challenged those who accuse him of religious fundamentalism to come out and show proof. No one has till today, taken up the challenge. His personal driver of many years is a Christian from Plateau State.

His government initiated the War Against Indiscipline that has made environmental cleanliness, queuing up, not urinating by the roadside etc features of our national life even till today
my dear, a minister does not have the power to establish a refinery.

It is either you did not understand my question or you are deliberately dodging my question. I will assume you did not understand my question.

Here goes my question again:

List the achievements of Buhari as the HEAD OF STATE ( that is between 1984 and 1985).

I'm waiting for your response.

Does Buhari believe in the "project Nigeria"? Hell no!

What has Buhari contributed to the development of Nigeria since he left office thirty years ago?

For those of you who do not know, Buhari is only interested in Nigeria if and only if he is made the president. And anything less than that, he is not interested.

And what is he hiding? The same guy was once in the Nigerian army, and rose in ranks to the top. Ruled the country once. And has contested for presidency more than once, before this one.

So, does it really make sense to you? Use ya brain.

The whole thing is just childish and silly.
pls don't take it personal.

Buhari was once in the Nigerian Army. We know that. But is that an excuse for him to hide his certificate? Buhari is not the only person to have served in the army. But wait, do you know the criteria for admission at the time Buhari entered the military? The fact that u were once in the military does not necessarily mean u were qualified to be in the military. Hope you have heard about the quota system before.

You said Buhari rose to become head of state. For your information Buhari did nt become head of state on merit. He seized power at gun point. He is a coupist, a felon.

Let me ask you a question, is it possible for Buhari to have a certificate and keep it and go to present affidavit to INEC instead of the certificate? Think about it.

SirShymex:
The whole back and forth about certificate and illiteracy is both utterly shameful, and hysterical. Tragicomedy really.

If he never had a certificate, how was he able to get into the Nigerian army, and moved up in rank, to rule the country? Oh, he had a certificate then - but he has none now, no? It basically just shows how useless the Nigerian army is - and also how childish and idi.otic Nigerian politics is. Obviously, they know most Nigerians are stark illiterates, and it isn't shocking that folks can keep peddling absolute tosh, for childish smear campaign.

How about use something more meaningful and cerebral to attack the guy, and not all these useless gimmicks? All these folks are clowns! undecided
why is hiding his certificate? How much will it cost him to present his certificate to INEC?

There is no doubt that the body of Christ is deeply involved in the politics of 2015 elections. We are seeing conflicting prophecies all over the place purportedly from the same God. We have seen churches directly and indirectly endorsing political parties and candidates. We have seen churches delivering "political sermons" from the pulpit.

My greatest concern is that we are not hearing this type of news from the mosques. Some people believe that Christianity is a religion of inconsistency and confusion and that is why they insist that sharia will serve Nigeria better. Are the recent actions from Christian leaders not a sign that Christianity is a religion of confusion?

My question is: what will happen to the integrity of the body of Christ after the 2015 elections?

Its not surprising given that most church members and churches alike encourage materialism and unnecessary materialistic competitions into the church, where you see a family starving at home but save their annual wage to buy a ride to flash in church on sunday or people playing the who is the richest in the church game like worldly competitions, rubbish. so it was only a matter of time before politics enters into the house of God.
my dear politics is already in the church, the only thing is that we should pray that politics should not take over the church.

I see churches presenting candidates for elections in the near future.

Politics › 2015 Prophecy: PDP Will Win Presidential Election - Primate Ayodele by Ayed44(op): 11:42am On Jan 04, 2015
THE founder and General Overseer of Inri
Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah
Ayodele, has said that the winner of February 14,
2015 presidential election has been revealed to
him by God.
In an exclusive interview with Sunday Tribune,
the cleric, renowned for the accuracy of his
prophecies, including the election of Ayo Fayose
as the governor of Ekiti State and the recent
leadership crisis in the Central Bank of Nigeria,
revealed this in his prophecies for 2015 on issues
that will affect the country and the world at large.
According to Ayodele, “2015 elections will hold
but will be peaceful in some areas and not in
other areas. As it is, from what I see at the
moment, PDP will win, amidst serious criticism.”
Speaking further on popular speculations about
the APC clinching the presidential ticket, Primate
Ayodele stated that, “APC and PDP will share the
North; PDP will win a state in the South-West, the
East and the South-South but the core North will
be a bit difficult for the PDP to win. However,
when Jonathan gets a second term, I don’t see
peace; except the president obeys the word of
God. I don’t see the APC winning the presidential
election. Even if Buhari wins, he can’t put an end
to insurgency, nor can he fight corruption. His
will be worse than Jonathan.”
Ayodele also made predictions on the economy,
the aviation sector, entertainment, media,
agriculture, electricity, security, health, religion,
education, telecommunications, oil and gas,
judiciary and the international community.

Politics › 2015 Prophecy: APC Will Take Over —Cardinal Odunmbaku by Ayed44(op): 11:06am On Jan 04, 2015
. CARDINAL James Omolaja Odunmbaku has revealed that God has hearkened to the cries of Nigeria and He is ready to install the much-needed change at the federal seat of power.

In his New Year message to Nigerians, when the Buhari Campaign Organisation visited him in his office, the spiritualist, whose past warnings and predictions had saved individuals and establishments said 2015 would be joyful, fruitful and progressive for Nigerians.

Cardinal Odunmbaku who is incidentally the Deputy chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State and Chairman of All parties Campaign Committee in this year’s election declared that, ‘’ the era of suffering by the masses is over, God has decided to put smiles on their faces in 2015.”

The Lagos APC deputy chairman had earlier distributed 57 brand new campaign buses to the party leadership in the 20 local government areas and 37 Local Council Development Authorities (LCDAs) in the state as directed by the party’s apex body with state governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), the party’s Governorship candidate, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, the party’s chairman, Otunba Henry Ajomale and other party leaders also in attendance.

The clergyman cum politician, in his statement added “I am not speaking from my canal knowledge, I speak with the inspiration from the Holy Ghost and in spiritualism, there is no partiality, God’s message must be delivered the way it comes.

“Apart from the obvious jitters and confusion in the ruling party, people raised their voices in agony and pains, calling for a divine intervention, which God ,in His infinite mercy, has answered and would manifest through the elections in February ‘’ Cardinal Odunmbaku disclosed.

Baba Eto, as he is fondly called by teeming party followers, used the occasion to commend the state party chairman, Otunba Henry Ajomale for his pivotal role and strong belief in him (Odunmbaku) to champion the campaign of the party in the state.

Politics › Breaking: We Are Not With Buhari's Original Certificate - Army by Ayed44(op): 2:38am On Jan 04, 2015
To assert its innocence that the original credentials of
former Head of State and presidential candidate of
the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen.
Muhammad Buhari (rtd), are not in its custody, the
Nigerian Army has thrown the ex leader a poser.
The Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Brig-
Gen. Olajide Laleye, asked: "if indeed the Army is in
possession of those certificates, why has he (Buhari)
not demanded for them since 2003 he forayed into
presidential elections and had other shots at the
presidency in 2007 and 2011 respectively?"
The Army spokesman wondered why this should be
an issue now when the same candidate had
contested three times for the presidency and must
have presented some sort of credentials to the
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He insisted that contrary to insinuations, the Army
does not have in its possession the originals but only
copies of credentials of all its officers whether
serving, retired or deceased, including those of Gen.
Muhammad Buhari (rtd).
While responding to THISDAY inquiries on the issue
Saturday, Laleye explained that the Military Secretary
(MS) has the copies of the credentials, with the
original in possession of the individual officers.
Laleye added that even the copies domiciled with the
MS are accessible to their owners within 24 hours.
"The Military Secretary is the custodian of the
military records of all officers serving, retired or
deceased. Therefore original credentials are with
the officer while copies are with the MS. Gaining
access to one’s credentials in the MS is possible
within 24 hours", he said.

Politics › Nigerian Army Says It Has Buhari’s Academic Records, But He Needs To Apply by Ayed44(op): 5:30pm On Jan 03, 2015
The director of public relations of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier Olaleye Lajide, has dismissed reports in the Nigerian media claiming that the army could not find academic records of General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.), the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Brigadier Lajide described the reports as false.

The military spokesman made the disclosure while responding to a text message from SaharaReporters seeking clarification about the status of Mr. Buhari’s records. Brigadier Lajide affirmed that the Nigerian Army is in possession of all records of serving, retired and deceased officers since its inception. He added, however, that all military officers are supposed to keep original copies of their certificates.

According to him, in the event where an officer loses his or her original copy of records, the concerned officer must officially apply for copies from the army. He stated that the army responds to such requests in an expeditious manner.

Brigadier Lajide told our correspondent that he was a former director of records at the Nigerian Army headquarters and had seen records of older and retired generals. He added that he was in no doubt that General Buhari’s records were intact.

Brigadier Olaleye insisted that the claim in a major Nigerian newspaper, that the army could not locate Mr. Buhari’s record was untrue

He described members of the

He particularly mentioned Kano

He said his former G7 Governors

“People like Rabiu Kwankwaso,

who have everything in common

because they are frustrated out of
the party today they are talking of

Nonsense.” He said
Governor Lamido made the
statement at the Peoples

in Gwaram Local Government
Area of Jigawa State.
His words: “In fact, they say
General Mohammadu Buhari is
the only saint, clean,
incorruptible, yet he is the one
harbouring the most dirtiest
people in the country today.
“Buhari is a white curtain that is
hiding the dirty people who are
all from the PDP which they said
is a dirty party, a party of
criminals, a party of thieves, yet it
is the same party that made them
to be what they are today.
“Therefore Allah will surely judge
us right in this world before we
even part to great beyond, how
can a child begotten by a leper,
breastfeed by her and yet when
the child grow is now saying the
leper is dirty and smelling?
Lamido urged Nigerians
particularly the people of Jigawa
State to maintain the good legacy
of PDP and cast their votes for the
party in the forthcoming polls.

Politics › 2015: Sambo’s PDP Reconciliation Moves Unsettle APC by Ayed44(op): 8:22am On Jan 02, 2015
As political manoeuvres towards the 2015 general elections intensify, the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) is jittery over the moves by Vice President Namadi Sambo to reconcile aggrieved members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the country, Daily Sun can now reveal.

Vice President Sambo has embarked on an unexpected peace drive across the country, reconciling aggrieved aspirants of the party and galvanising support to ensure victory of the party in the coming polls.

Sources close to the APC revealed that the party was unsettled by the successes so far recorded by Sambo, especially in some key states.

The source said: “The APC is clearly shocked by the recent successful reconciliation between the two major contenders for the PDP ticket in Lagos State, which is an APC stronghold. Opposition leaders were pleased with the earlier division in the Lagos PDP following disagreements on conduct of the primary election. But now the story is different.

It was also gathered that the strategy by Sambo has also effectively checked an impending mass exodus from the PDP following disagreements over the conduct of primary elections in some states. The APC was banking on such defections to consolidate its hope for victory in 2015.

The Lagos APC has since noticed the implication of the reconciliation between the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Mr. Jimmy Agbaje and his major opponent, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro. It was Vice President Sambo that succeeded in bringing the two men together with both agreeing to work together for the victory of PDP in Lagos.

“The APC is apparently aware of the PDP inroads in the state, that is why the state Governor, Babatunde Fashola and other party stalwarts have stepped up campaign for their party’s candidate because they are now aware that it is not going to be a tea party,” the source revealed.

The Sambo reconciliation train has also been to Yobe, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi and his home state, Kaduna.

It was further gathered that in all the states, Sambo recorded success, as all aspirants agreed to work with the flag bearers of the party in bringing electoral victory to the PDP this year.

In Lagos State, for instance, the APC is said to be jittery over possible protest votes by the large population of voters from the South East over a protracted disagreement with the Fashola regime, which deported Igbo from the state in 2012.

LAGOS—NATIONAL Coordinator of Odu’a Peoples Congress, OPC, Otunba Gani Adams, Tuesday berated former President Olusegun Obasanjo for allegedly laying the foundation of Nigeria’s current problems.

He also expressed worries over the conduct of the 2015 general elections noting that utterances made by politicians could lead to crisis.

Otunba Adams, who said this while addressing newsmen said the concern was borne out of genuine fears that no matter who wins the presidential election between President Goodluck Jonathan and General Mohammadu Buhari of All Progressives Congress, APC, the nation was likely going to erupt in violence.

According to him, if Buhari loses next year’s election, crisis may erupt in the north, while the Niger Delta region is likely to be engulfed in crisis if President Jonathan loses.

Blaming the former president for major problems confronting the country, he said “the very cabal that Jonathan complained about was created by Obasanjo. All the problems that are existing in Nigeria today, the foundation was laid by Obasanjo.”
On the issue of a planned interim government, in case the 2015 poll became inconclusive, Adams said that could not be the solution.

Aliyu in an interview with journalists after the fund raising campaign organised in Dutse, said “Though we know Governor Lamido has problem, because some times he talk in support of General Buhari by asking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP supporters to vote for him (Buhari) secretly during the forth coming elections.”

According to him Lamido openly criticised General Bahari and at the same time he showed support for President Goodluck Jonathan. “For this, I am assuring you that in Jigawa, Buhari will get over two million votes and Jonathan will get only but one vote, that of Lamido himself.

“General Buhari has never talked about Sule Lamido in anyway, under whatever circumstances. Buhari is not his mate, he is far ahead of Lamido. It is only Lamido that can double talk, criticise even Jonathan he always claimed to be supporting by asking his supporters not to vote for him.”

He also explained that Nigerians were ready to donate their money to General Buhari because they trust him. “The money realised from Nigerians through the sale of scratch cards will be used in hiring vehicles for campaigns, payment of agents during election as well as other logistic in support of the party.”

According to Aliyu, Governor Lamido was pained for the defection of one of his reps member representing Birninkudu/Buji federal constituency, Mr Sabo Nakudu, who is now the senatorial candidate of the APC in South-West senatorial zone.

Politics › Re: Reps Aspirant Dumps PDP After Winning Party’s Primary, Joins APC For Osinbajo by Ayed44:
Hmmm.... This is serious. But wait a minute.

This woman spent millions of naira to purchase PDP's nomination form.

She spent millions of naira to execute her electioneering campaign.

She contested with and defeated the incumbent in the PDP primary election.

She won the PDP ticket.

And she woke up one beautiful morning and threw away the ticket she fought so hard to win, and she preferred to join APC as a floor member.

I smell lies......
