PPR IS HERE OOO

I honestly considered letting sleeping PPR announcements lie sad... it's been too long.

Timeline

AOR - March 26th
IP1 - April 5th
Ordered GCMS notes and received (Eligibility recommended pass/VO Ottawa undecided)- July
IP2 - August 22nd

Sent emails and contacted the Minister before I decided to let Ottawa keep disappointing

Ghost update - November 19th
PPR- November 20th

What a wait! But I knew God's time would be the "equilibrium" time.

I have always been that person who believes that having options and taking advantage of every opportunity won’t hurt anyone.
Rewind to early last year when I decided to apply for a study visa to a Canadian university I had worked really hard to get into. My visa application was refused. I was sad but didn’t let it get me down. After seeing the rejection letter and getting over the sharp disappointment I felt, I immediately thought of the next step, which was to reapply.

This time, I called the school and they decided to assign an immigration lawyer to my case. They guided me on what to do and I followed all instructions to the letter.

Again, my application was refused. I couldn't even shed a tear; plus they didn't deserve my tears sef angry . I just said “God must have something better planned for me,“ and of course, He did.

I hung out with a couple of friends few days later and after telling them my situation, they told me to try the Express Entry application (Surround yourselves with people wey sabi).

Mind you, I had heard about it sometime in 2016 but I wasn’t interested because writing IELTS was just very annoying. So when my friends mentioned it again, I took it as a sign and decided to go research it for myself. That night I didn’t sleep; I stayed up going through almost every piece of information on the IRCC website.

I was convinced about the Express Entry application that night.

First step was to write the IELTS test which I did. However, I wasn’t able to get the exact score I needed in one of the sections. I took the test again and I got a better result… THEIR DADDIES!! undecided

IELTS 1 - 7.5, 8, 7.5, 7 (LRSW)
IELTS 2 - 8.5, 8, 8, 7 (LRSW)

CRS SCORE - 453

I didn't find this thread up until after I had submitted but I binged from Thread 1. I don't want to elaborate on how much I "stalked" each thread. The wealth of information on here just blows my mind.

I got the email on my way to work. I was in a traffic jam; Lord knows I almost replied the PPR email to say "Thank You Sir cry kiss.... Maybe I should have cause it would have been good page 1 material (Replying PPR emails) if they had replied "You're welcome." LOL

Thank you all for your endless contributions. God bless you.

No. Let's make it most fees smiley

ontarioissauga:
Including biometrics fee?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by AyeMayBe(f): 6:32pm On Oct 29, 2018
I heard of a situation similar to this just a couple days ago. All fees were refunded. Only hassle was having to go back into the pool, which isn't too bad considering... *Fingerscrossed*

ontarioissauga:
This is why people should arrange their available documents as they await ITA. If possible involve second eye. I'm not sure processing fee will be refunded.

[quote author=dumprep post=72134550]My great family. It has happened! The joy I feel right now cannot be described. My chest o!

I remember precisely on the 28th of September when;

iaatmguy said, "aswearoGod but i wonder why those announcing type short post and term it "LONG POST ALERT". Mods please lets enforce PPR announcement to be 1,000,000 words".
iaatmguy, i hope say you don fix that keyboard? Lol.

30 minutes later, Ifeoma77 replied saying, "I second this motion jare! Every time I see "It's PPR, Long post alert", e dey sweet my belle. We want more".

Tojued (talking to Expectantbee) said, "Congratulations! Eagerly awaiting the full gist! Like was suggested today, please make it as long as possible".

So please, abeg, biko, ejo, make una permit me to sweet Ifeoma belle, enforce iaatmguy's PPR-announcement-with-1-million-words policy and make it as long as possible for Tojued by declaring this announcement a #LONG FUNNY DRAMATIC POST. Enjoy!

Yes. I experienced exactly that. The doctor showed me the previous one to convince me that I couldn't do it. Then when i told her it was EE, she was able to open a new account for me under EE.
Is it possible that the person who attended to you isn't fully informed? I think you should explore that possibility and make enquiries before giving up. Keep us posted on the outcome smiley

The medicals done for study permit application is different from the one done for the EE process.

I had the same issue when I went to Abuja Clinics for my medicals. After I had left the hospital, I started thinking about it and quickly realised that I needed to stress that it was for EE; it didn't make sense to me that study permit medicals would stop me from moving on with my life undecided .

I went back to the hospital and informed the doctor. She said she didn't think to ask me what it was for and apologised.
She opened a new profile under EE and I was able to do my medicals smiley.
In my mind I was just thanking God for making my brain work cause the doctor had no idea at all. That's how I'd have been waiting for study permit medicals to expire cry

Adeyemmy24:
Congratulations to all ITA clinchers!
I also got ITA today, thanks God and to the wealth of information gotten here.
However, I have a situation...

My husband applied for a student visa in July 2017. He had his medical in May of 2017. By mid August of 2017, his visa application was denied. However, I as I got ITA today we visited the clinic for medicals, it was found that his old medical is still active in the emedical portal hence they could not create a new slot for him. We are doing the test without him. But Since he had the medicals in May 2017, it would have expired by now. What could be done to rectify this please?

I need to renew my rent. I am so frustrated and I feel like withdrawing my application. I am just so confused and frustrated. I do not know why mine went this way.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by AyeMayBe(f): 2:44pm On Sep 17, 2018
My thoughts exactly. Calculated that way to be safe.

Yakay:
This obviously shows the VO calculated July2016 to June 2017 as one year, den July 2017 to March 2018 gave 9 months, which is the correct way to calculate and not July 2016 to July 2017( this is more than a year)

I'm sure everything is good smiley. What's your AOR?

dumprep:
Hi my people smiley

So I just got my GCMS Notes now. VO is Ottawa. For us still in different stages of this Express Entry process, whether ECA, IELTS, Medicals, awaiting ITA/Post-ITA, may God crown our efforts with success and fill our mouths with testimonies (I know I'm ready to give a long testimony).

Let us keep the faith. It will surely end in praise.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by AyeMayBe(f): 11:22am On Sep 17, 2018
I haven't gotten PPR yet, but I got my GCMS notes. I claimed 1yr work experience from 23rd July 2016 to 25th March 2018 (40hrs/week). My calculation was simple, 23rd July 2016 to 31st (just to be safe) July 2017 would count as 1year; then August 2017 to March 2018 would be jara.

From my notes, the case analyst stated that I claimed 1year experience but summed up my overall experience, based on the dates stated, to 1year and 9months. If you want to be extra careful, maybe go with what others have said. Hope this helps.

bronze25:
Good morning fam. Please I have a little concern with regards to my reference letter.

Firstly, the words 'full time' was not stated in the letter but the number of working hours (40hours/week) was mentioned.

Secondly, I don't know if the date mentioned qualifies for one year (eg 23 March 2017- 11 March 2018).

These two issues have been bothering me. Please I would appreciate your kind advise.
Thanks

Hi. If you're able to max out the scores on all sections of the IELTS, it'll put you at 441. On the CRS calculator, change your writing of 7 to 7.5. Either that, or you should consider getting another certificate - Masters or PGD.

pweetygeek:
Hello house, I really appreciate everybody on this thread for all the info, if i open Canada immigration shop I go sell market well well. God bless you guys. So quick question my CRS is humbly sitting at 438 and the draw so far has been 440 upwards at least for this year, my ielts is L8.5,R9.0, W7.0, S8.0, Bsc accounting, 3yrs work experience, age 24. Please what do you think my chances are? Should i still calm down or start looking for ways to increase my point? Thank you.

Hi. You could try to get it online. Another option would be to get a representative who resides in Ghana to apply for you (that's how I did mine cause the website kept malfunctioning); my representative got it, then scanned and sent to me. It cost about GHC1200 if I remember correctly.

Hi. I have gotten transcripts several times. What I did was get a friend who was there at the time to follow up. I think it cost me 60cedis as at the last time I ordered a copy.

PS: I assume you want them to send a copy to WES. So, if you do get someone, make sure the person understands exactly how the school needs to package the transcript for sending so that WES doesn't reject it.

Also, I faced the problem of the school saying I'd have to send myself; what I did was get same person who helped to post it for me from Kumasi (not to WES though); she used the postal service on campus I think (so sender address was still KNUST). But I confirmed from my friend who sent to WES that she did the exact same thing and had no issues with WES.

Sorry for the long story when I'm sure you were expecting a phone number/email.

Hopesprings:
Hello everyone,

Please has anyone had to get a transcript from KNUST in Kumasi? Could you please help with a contact if you have?

Thanks a lot!

Hey Everyone,

Just thought to share how I was able to renew my passport with little or no hassle.

I live in Abuja so I guess this is mainly directed at those who live here or are willing to travel all the way.
Got a contact at immigration office gwagwalada from my friend and when I got to the dude’s office, he said 32page booklets (which cost 25k) weren’t readily available. I jejely just agreed to go for 64pages (which cost 30k). I wasn’t able to wait to pick it up cause I was ill but it was ready same day and I picked it up the next day (my contact sent it into town for me so I didn’t have to go all the way to Gwags to pick it up).

Hope this helps smiley

Probably because life and plans can't be on hold because one is waiting on CIC's decision. Important events may come up during that period.
But in making the decision to send your passport out to other embassies during the wait period, it'll be good for us to do so after considering the fact that PPR may come the very next day and have a plan in place if that does happen. smiley

Why do people start applying to US or UK in the middle of a permanent residence visa application?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by AyeMayBe(f): 2:18pm On Jul 26, 2018
Maybe you could contact CIC for another extension. However, if they decline, call home office and tell them you no want visa again. Make dem give you your kpali.lol. I reckon your PPR is more important. Right?

mosbiod:
Congrats to those that got ITA and new PPRs.. this thread is the bomb and happy to see people moving forward step by step.

So I've got a lil challenge as per my PPR.. after receiving a 30day extension from CIC while my passport is with the UK Home office and was due to be returned to me last week.. Home Office decided to write me a letter last Friday to inform me they need more time to decide about the application I made to them which means they will still have my passport with them. I have written to them attaching every evidence that I need my passport to be sent to CIC. However, looking at how close my new deadline is approaching I may need another extension from CIC undecided ... even if I have to cancel my application from the UK Home office and get my documents back, the procedure takes a couple of weeks.

Please house, how possible it is to get another extension from CIC based on genuine reasons? anybody knows anyone who has ever been in this case before? Please advice..

Thanks my people.. @Gliterringstar @Newmum0615 ..
