They love to deride Lagos and its template at any given opportunity (Edo no be Lagos) due to opposition politics yet most of their choice property, businesses, wealth & whatnot are domiciled in the same Lagos. Udom Emmanuel relocated back to Lagos after his tenure as Governor ended; matter of fact every governor of Akwa Ibom since Obong Victor Attah were Lagos based. It’s a known fact that Udom & the incumbent governor, Pastor Umo Eno speak & understand Yoruba. For the one who said “Edo no be Lagos” realized towards the end that indeed, while Edo no be Lagos, we fit replicate Lagos for Edo but he failed in his attempt to install a stooge (another Lagos boy) as his successor. Obaseki too, who was drafted from Lagos to become Edo governor for two terms, couldn’t even wait for his tenure to elapse before running back to the same Lagos: say what you will about that State, she may not be perfect and still punching below what we know she is capable of if her full potentials are unleashed, but there’s no denying the fact that as far as Nigeria is concerned at this moment, that’s the only state with any semblance of sustained development and systems that work (at least to a reasonable degree). |
Now that Reuters has said it, may be doubting Thomases will believe it; Nigeria’s problem isn’t power generation but distribution. We currently generate between 13,000-14,000MW of electricity (still a far cry from what we require to be self sufficient in electricity generation) but years of non-investment in distribution facilities as well as lack of maintenance of existing distribution networks over the years have ensured that we aren’t able to distribute what we generate only a fraction (around 1/4) of it. |
If Trump wins, Elon Musk will probably be the single most deciding factor that made that happen. May this U.S presidential election be more peaceful, free and fair than the last one. |
When you talk too much with embellishments here and there just to prove you’re who you’re not in the real sense, this is what your fate willl be. Any discerning person would’ve quickly suspected that the things Bobrisky was alleged to have said in that leaked audio recording were mostly lies but their loud mouth & penchant for always dropping names won’t let them know when not to cross the line; whether they bribed EFCC officials or not, slept inside prison or not, paid revered SAN Femi Falana or not to purportedly help secure a pardon, was information that wasn’t supposed to have been revealed to another soul moreso when they cannot be established by factual evidence. This one that Bobrisky entered so, it’ll be a long ride for them and hopefully they learn some valuable lessons. |
This actually tastes nice, may be eaten as it is not as a topping and it’s filling too. |
Capturing parts of the shameful episode on video and the traction it gained subsequently on social media was the Bolt driver’s saving grace if not imagine what the stupid Maitama Police Division was alleging that he went to fight a senator in his own house; how does that make sense? Everyone of the police men involved in this shameful act of detaining the Bolt driver and impounding his car should be seriously questioned and reprimanded while the House of Reps member should be suspended from sitting and made to publicly apologize for his disreputable actions. |
Is that Akpabio I see on the last slide seated comfortably inside the National Mosque? |
What’s the percentage of Nigerians that know who the deputy governor of Abia State is by reputation or looks compared to Obafemi Hamzat? If you put up a photo of Obafemi Hamzat & that of Ikechukwu Emetu without attaching their names or positions, who do you think most will immediately recognize as a deputy governor between the two? And talking about Emetu being a petroleum engineer, have you seen Hamzat’s academic/educational profile? Anyways, I said what I said & moved on without prejudice to others’ opinions but you’re the one who felt triggered enough to jump on my mention & give the name of a deputy governor of a state where the people rolled out the red carpet and danced in celebration of a Julius Berger logo! blueAgent: |
blueAgent:You could easily have made reference to the Abia deputy governor without labeling my opinion about Obafemi Hamzat, who also happens to be an Engineer as “rubbish”! But then, why am I not surprised? |
Almost everyone that is educated, enlightened, politically suave and in tune with what goes on in Nigeria, knows the deputy governor of Lagos either by name or face; same can’t be said for the remaining 35 states. Our state governors need to start picking deputies that are equally as smart, knowledgeable, active & capable as themselves just in case of emergency. Dr. Obafemi Hamzat speaks and carries himself like someone who will & can hold forte any day anytime should the need ever arise for him to do so; he’s not just another “spare tyre” but a useful & ready one! |
You probably need to change your barber. |
Well said. Most of these folks doing this secession thing lack originality and are just after making a quick buck here and there. nairalanda1: |
Lol. Another charlatan lacking in originality: petition no even reach 40 leaves exercise book no wonder they'd to detail the "mai gadi" to receive it from him at the door post. With just this photo ops alone, his audience will start sending hard currency & if this doesn't attract the volume of donations he anticipates, he will submit another petition in another country to hoodwink his gullible followers. |
Unfortunately, I can't take - even with a pinch of salt - a single word that purportedly comes out from the mouth of the cross dresser: they're known to tell lies and live a fake life all for social media validation. They initiated that phone call, spewed a lot of lies on it & in the process, dropped a senior lawyer's name just to make their claim seem legit: your acclaimed godfather could make arrangement for you "allegedly" to be held outside the correctional facility & dropped N5m but couldn't make it N10m because they'd offered plenty help? Anyways, that's their own problem. |
Calitoscassius:I've a stalker, an admirer even😂😂😂 or how else would you know I'm "obsessed" with Lagos you psychopath if you haven't been wanking to my posts/comments on NL, you deliquent juvenile! Anyways, feel free to quote me again like you did before now and cry more of those tears: cry me some more even as I now have to ignore your sorry ass.... |
I mean, even Steve Ndukwu mentioned that it was on Landmark premises and even went further to show Landmark in the video towards the end. It’s plausible the promoters of this particular building copied the exact structure of a pre-existing type elsewhere but this one in the video is in Lagos, Nigeria otherwise why would the content creator say it’s the first of its kind in Nigeria or even mention/show Landmark in the background? Showing a photo of a similar building from elsewhere doesn’t invalidate the fact the one shown in the video is in Nigeria and specifically Lagos. press9jatv: |
Lol. It takes an insane person to recognize another. So, cheers to your incurable insanity. And by the way, get some reasonable amount of data to watch the video to the end & stop depending on “they say, they said”! Author clearly stepped out of the building to show Landmark in the video and even mentioned it was located on Landmark property so except there’s another Landmark somewhere else in Nigeria that the rest of us aren’t aware of, you’re just another pained asshole who’s sad Lagos is in the news again for something good. Ok, run off now to go take your mental retardation meds, just might make you feel better. Calitoscassius: |
Mr. Taiwo Oyedele’s prints all over these tax reforms; kudos to him and his team for a diligent job. Implementing their recommendations such as those includes in this report is key! |
Lol. Maybe I am the one that’s not understanding what’s going on; didn’t this Isaac purportedly tell the security agencies who abducted him from his hideout to Abuja that he’s not Pidom whatever? Isn’t his strength as “Pidom” hinged on his anonymity and insistence that he’s not the one behind the handle that has been “exposing” highly sensitive & classified (some of them with national security implications) documents? Let’s not even talk about his exposé on the alleged fraudulent dealings involving the Ooni of Ife; how does Omoyele Sowore tying him (Isaac) to that Pidom account save him from what’s to come? One thing is almost certain, for whatever he’s being tried for at the moment that he has been granted bail, he could still be picked up on other allegations that’ll keep him busy from one court room to another. I don’t envy Isaac or Pidom! |
Lol. One thing you can’t take away from Lagos is its preeminent status as Nigeria’s foremost investment & tourist destination. One thing you can’t also take away from smart & futuristic investors is the recognition of Lagos as an investors’ delight & a city with guaranteed returns. While online warriors, ethnic champions, “haters” of Lagos & anything good were busy spinning a narrative about Lagos being “anti-investment” & urging investors and potential investors from a section of the country to “pull out” or halt any further investments in that state, the man on whose account that agenda gained traction on social media (Mr Paul Onwuanibe) was busy consolidating & very likely increasing his investments. The same landmark they swore was demolished, we saw the owner & Gov. Sanwoolu taking a stroll in the place in a video posted on X by Mr. Jags. Today, we’ve seen another video posted by Mr. Steve Ndukwe showing the structure is still standing, thriving business-wise & even expanding into uncharted territory via the first “upside down building in West Africa”! |
Watch how enemies of Nigeria, Nigerians and anything good will now make night traveling a nightmare for road users: these guys (and I mean the NSA & every other person who delights in propaganda) just keep going two steps forward and 10 leaps backwards everytime like clockwork! Is the ONSA coordinating the security architecture of Nigeria for better results at the moment? My answer is a resounding YES! But is it not Nigerians that’ll testify to whether there’s a general improvement in security of lives and livelihoods? Thing is when people in positions of authority such as NSA Nuhu Ribadu make these sorts of comments, they only serve as fuel for those (read enemies of the state) who wish to see Nigeria crumble to insecurity so that they can gloat and say “....didn’t I say so?” |
At the beginning of this PBAT admin, Bayo Adelabu was called all sorts of names with most, including myself, labeling him the most incompetent minister ever & for him to be sacked. However, today, no one in their right senses will call Adelabu anything short of a performing minister & silent achiever; he rarely makes media “noise” nor given to media attention but he’s now (in my opinion) one of the very few performing ministers today. Never imagined in my lifetime that a time will come in Nigeria when people will say they don’t want light (20-24hrs) & should be downgraded: it’s quite understandable that those affected (Band A) are crying out due to the prohibitive costs of electricity but because we’ve been enjoying subsidies on a lot of services (electricity, pipe borne water where it’s available, petrol, education, transportation specifically train etc) for so long we don’t seem to realize these services are very very costly to sustain/subsidize. Ride on Honorable Minister! |
Jags with the subtle subs in those tweets. |
Before he became President, Asiwaju was known for his visits to Europe (France & UK especially) for the holidays (whether medical holidays or rest holidays) hence I'm not surprised at his choice of the UK for his annual leave. However, what is shocking is that at a time not less than 80% of the population are reeling from the effects of his administrations hasty, poorly planned & executed policies, PBAT wants to go on a "vacay" to the UK; while he's in the UK (a country where majority of the political class are answerable to the people, not looters of the commonwealth of the people, not living ostentatiously while the people beg for crumbs etc) enjoying himself on taxpayers' account, many more Nigerians will be plunged into economic hardships because the political class under PBAT's leadership have become too greedy, corrupt, selfish & unbothered to care about what the people are going through. |
Lol. Is there anyone who still thinks Boko Haram, banditry & thé killer herdsmen menace in the north isn’t politically motivated? |
Some of you just need to leave your “comfort” zones and take a minute off social media & TV analysts’ views on the security situation in Kaduna and many other states in the North. If we’re to go by daily news reports, Kaduna is still safer than Anambra, Imo, Port Harcourt, Edo, Ondo & Osun. |
If anyone should take the chunk of the blame for the woes that have befallen PDP since 2015 (and the intra-political events in the party between 2013-2015 precisely), it's Alhaji Atiku Abubakar & the group of New PDP members who pulled out from the party to support join the other "legacy" political parties that formed the APC just because the then President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan didn't abide by a purported "zoning formula". While Atiku is touted by his praise singers as a sort of political genius, that singular move would turn out to be his biggest political miscalculation yet; if the northern political elite at the time led by Atiku had just thrown their weight behind GEJ/PDP to finish his maximum term in 2019, power would've undoubtedly rotated back to the North with political bigwigs such as the former VP standing in pole position to clinch the ticket. However, impatience, greed, false sense of importance & blind lust for power led Atiku specifically to jilt a sure path to the Presidency: in his mind, his friend, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would've supported him over a General Muhammadu Buhari to clinch the APC presidential ticket but he was wrong! He missed it then & has continued to miss it thereafter; a man can only reap what he sows and the betrayal Atiku & his ilk sowed in the PDP is what they're reaping today. After all the maxim of equity clearly states that “who comes into equity must come with clean hands"! Someone tell Demola Olanrewaju that his boss' hands are unclean therefore, he can't come into equity or make a claim for equity when he himself once worked in cahoots with others to deny someone the same equity and justice they now so desperately seek. |
I mean, why are most Nigerian leaders very backward-thinking, Mediocre & short-sighted? For someone like Prince Dapo Abiodun who was a very successful private business owner before public office & well traveled (a multi-billionaire by most standards), how does this structure qualify as an "international cargo airport"? while it has been certified so by the relevant authorities & bears the name already, Ogun State with it all its illustrious & industrious sons & daughters, after all these years of waiting, deserved better; just imagine Lagos State or nearby Oyo State under Engr. Seyi Makinde building an airport - whether it's cargo or passenger - in 2022 or even 2024, it'd be an architectural beauty with exquisite interiors not this one that looks like the sitting room of a young tech bro (and I say this with all due respect to the hardworking, resourceful, honest & brilliant tech minds out there). With its meagre resources, not-so-influential status & not an industrial state, you can't compare this with what then Gov. Sule Lamido built in Dutse, Jigawa State as far back 2014 (I won't even mention the airport built by Willie Obiano or Dave Umahi in Anambra or Ebonyi States respectively). And please, spare us the "this is a cargo airport" rhetoric; the Dutse airport was also conceived as a cargo airport ab initio. Even if we were to concede the Ogun airport is a cargo airport, it's obvious it'll operate more as a passenger airport with Valuejet being the flagship airline into & out of the facility. |
Many people seem to have forgotten that Sir. (Dr) Peter Odili, ex-Rivers governor has a perpetual injunction against the EFCC, Police, ICPC and any other agents of government from arresting or investigating him for corruption allegations. The only ex-governor of Rivers who doesn't seem to know their way around our judiciary loopholes is Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi; but from Odili to Wike, those ones have figured out how to use the judiciary to their own advantage. |
zoeymikey:20 years old and already a graduate of mathematics: that's an accomplishment especially if it's not a private institution of higher learning you attended. Anyways, it's unfortunate you've an "abusive" boyfriend who probably uses food, money, accommodation & sex as a weapon: if you can send me a message, there's a multinational retail business at Ibom Tropicana (Market Square) I would recommend you check them to know if they're currently hiring & if not, drop your resume with them to contact you once there's an opening. |
You said “Edo no be Lagos” even as the voters then kicked against Oshiomhole’s overbearing posture. You went on a widely publicized collision course with the Benin Traditional Council led by the revered Oba of Benin then you went on to alienate & in some cases betray almost everyone who ensured you clinched PDP’s governorship ticket after your own party (APC) shut its down against you? You refused to inaugurate majority of the State House of Assembly members for many years simply because they belonged to another party and you think that was right depriving a majority section of the state of representation? The same godfatherism that you fought against & won with the overwhelming support of Edo people is the same godfatherism you now imposed & you expected the people to keep quiet? I honestly don’t have any sympathies for Gov. Obaseki: he dug his own political grave with his own hands. Congratulations to Governor-elect Monday Okpebholo & Deputy Governor-elect Dennis Idahosa aka Denco! Barring any last minute judicial hara kiri these men will be sworn-in to office as governor & deputy governor respectively to the disappointment of Gov. Obaseki & those who can’t imagine that APC is still capable of securing a single vote in light of the current economic hardships & miss me with the rigging or INEC compromised rhetoric; if AI or OA had won, we for no hear pim! |
Lol. PDP Governors resorting to self-help over an election that only INEC has the powers to declare a winner. |
