The N-Power scheme seem like the first most transparent recruitment process in Nigeria
If only government/privates can imbibe the same hiring strategy
The one that makes a candidate's qualifications supersede other hiring criteria
Not the fact that he's your business partner or a family friend or has a strong referrer

Politics › Re: Peace Corps Member Faints In Gombe After Buhari Rejected Peace Corps Bill(pics,v by Ayodejioak(m): 4:01am On Mar 01, 2018 |
AreaFada2: Very funny. You mean those 45% who can afford a gen set? Hope you did not include those with "I-Better-Pass-My-Neighbour".
In Buhari's 9ja well over 75% of the general population are poor. Middle class and average cannot be more than 20%. The rich should be around 5%: Politicians and cronies, big businessmen, big pastors, top looting officials/civil servants, etc.
Of course the poor bear the brunt of economic and social problems. More vulnerable to crime (cannot erected fences and maiguard/guard dogs), cannot afford good health care and nutrition, poor education for their kids, suffer from salary delays and impact of inflation and policy somersaults, etc. Well said! |
Art, Graphics & Video › Re: Ben Enwonwu's Portrait Of Tutu Sold At Auction For £1,205,000 by Ayodejioak(m): 12:36am On Mar 01, 2018 |
grandstar: Enwonwu is not entitled to a penny. He doesn't own the painting. If he still owned it, then his children or whoever he willed them to will be the beneficiaries.
So, if you bought from Ben for instance for N10m in 2017 and you decide to sell it for £10m in 2037, all the proceeds will go to you. Ben will not get a dime.
Also, you have centers for selling art works. The two most popular auctioneers are Sotheby and Christie and I think both are based in London. Thank you. Great to know! |

maasoap: In working countries, there are students' loans not to even talk about scholarships. That shows you how much education is valued. Your plan B, C and D is simply because you're living in a country-like shithole. In societies where education works, education has no limitation. I beg your pardon, You mean yourself? |

eyinjuege: It was stolen when his house was burgled in the UK.
They found it years later in someone's flat.
His family definitely knew about the auction. His son claimed that was his father's favourite piece of art. If this is true and known enough, Then Im interested in seeing how the world handles this |
