Hello everyone , I will like to ask if i can reapply immeditely after visa application cancellation. I was about to pay for my TLS appointment fee before noticing I inputed the wrong intended arrival and departure date on my UK visa form, and I read on the uk site that the only way to correct a mistake is to cancel my application and reapply. My Question is, Will I be able to reapply immediately or do I need to wait for another a while before commencing a new application, also is it possible to write a letter stating my mistake and submit my application like that?

Xtianengr you can get admission from Nigeria or in Canada. Once you have your visa, even if a program says closed on any of the websites, call the college and tell them you have your visa. Most programs that indicate closed, they factor in time to process visa for international students. So even if a school tells you admission is closed, call and let them know you have your visa but only thinking of changing school. I know colleges admit people even when admission says closed provided they still have seats on that program. Colleges do this a lot but not sure about Universities.

However, I strongly recommend you are in Canada before you notify CIC because at the POE, if you show them a new LOA, they may ask why you changed school most especially if it is cheaper than the initial school for which you were given your visa. They will drill you

You can get admission for another school from Nigeria, get into Canada before notifying your former school and CIC you want to change school.

Ayomiposi2020 Kcosam and Xtianengr I think Newfoundland university collects 2k per semester (6K in a year). It also depends if they have your program.

Please find out if the school/college you has flexible payment plans. This will help.

Newbrunswick community college is another cheap school - I think it is less than 6k CAD for some programs, please find out.

Brandon University is another cheap school.

I know Sleekysoft attend Newfoundland university.

This is quiet helpful.
Would you know names of the affordable colleges in canada?. Cos I am thinking of changing school to a more affordable one once visa is granted
Naijaforeigner:

If your friend does not have money, let him defer his current offer while he tries to get admission for January into college/University. He should make sure it is a college/university where the fees are cheap (not more than 5000 CAD). I strongly recommend he goes for a program that has a co-op (most likely college). He should make sure it is a program that has at least 8 months co-op.

Once he gets admission into college, he should try and get money to pay for his 1st semester fees from Nigeria, his 8 months co-op will most likely sort out the rest if he is disciplined.

Please forget the idea of trying to defer and then work while in Canada for 6 months before school starts, It will most likely mess him up when he wants to apply for his PGWP.

Also, if your friend has a job in Nigeria at the moment where he can still get some money from now till January, no need to rush to travel to Canada. Except you have family members that are willing to accommodate you for free (food inclusive) in Canada, it is easier to save money in Nigeria than it is in Canada provided he already has a regular source of income in Nigeria. Save up money, save up money before you travel, you will need it.

This is for other students who don't have enough money

If you don't have money, no scholarship and you want to study in Canada, please be strategic.

(1) Make sure you apply to colleges or Universities with very low tuition.

(2) Make sure it is a 2 years program so you don't have to renew study permit while in Canada.

(3) If you choose 1 year PGC, you will need to renew study permit again and show money in account. If you know you struggled getting money in your account or sponsors, why will you want to go for a 1 year program?

(4) Make sure you choose co-op programs - you get to work full time for up to 8 months during course of study.

(5) you can always change schools even after your visa has been approved. If you need to switch to co-op program or cheaper schools, do it now. It is legal and allowed.

P.s For all those with Visa's or planning to come to Canada, please learn how to cut hair and ladies, if you can learn how to make hair before coming, you will make cool cash.

I cut my hair for 25CAD without shaving and 35CAD if I shave, do the maths (London, ON hair cut price).
I know a lady that charges 80 CAD and above to make ladies hair as a side hustle (she has her regular job). She attends to only 3 customers weekly because of her regular job. If you are a student, this will help you big time most especially when on break.

While waiting 6 months in Nigeria for visa, what are you doing with your time?

Hello Just Mellow, Thanks for reply but I dont quite understand all of it, Please can you break it down in simpler english. Thanks
JustMellow:

Hello Ayomiposi,

Every application of respective applicants is imbue with certain circumstances that connects the eligibility process ranging from "sponsorship, DLI, LE, Purpose of visit, Home ties etc of such filed application to "finance/financial sufficiency" which is paramount to a sponsor's "source of funds/availability of funds" minus the sponsorship expenses(tuition fees, LE); now enabling a focus to the new total available balance which could reflect in either a company or personal account on the occasion of such sponsorship pivoting around the "sponsor's (financial) circumstances."

What is of essence is to be guided orientally in order not to risk such sponsorship intentions by committing the source of funds to a bottleneck especially when most of the funds is domicile in a company's account. It only calls for scrutiny when a sponsor is using the company's account at the expense of its own risk to facilitate such sponsorship tendencies which would be a red flag.

In other to avoid this, the tradition of using a personal account was birthed as to a stretched length of a transparent guarantee/safety that the funds in such account can be accessed for any primary or even secondary reasons without derailing the financial flows of the source of funds when using a company's account.

In excerpt, whether its a company or personal account, for as long as it warranty the sufficiency in steady financial flows without sticking the source of funds in/close to mud, cause it would emanate to parading dirt(red flag).

I hope this answered your query.

Thanks So much, I will have them write a letter of sponsorship for me,using the company letter head, also for the CAC must I submit it with the memorandum, i.e must it go hand in hand? because am not amongst the directors. Thanks for your reply
Qudkom:

Hello, funds from COMPANY ACCOUNT are sometimes risky to use if your sponsors aren't going to use a savings account. The company account is a good way to show your parents have a RELIABLE source of income and can sponsor your education in canada. But they still need to show proof of a savings account and any other investment they might have. That way you can be sure of scaling the financial requirements. Try and do this:
1. Get a copy of their company accounts statement

2. CAC certificate and memorandum if you happen to be part of the directors*

3. Pay up your tuition for a semester if the institution allows (please familiarise yourself with refund policies of the school)

4. Have your parents tun their savings account to a reasonable tune.

5. Have them write and sign a letter of sponsor.

I hope this helps on the FINANCIAL issue.

Will this be a problem? Is it true that the embassy regards fund from only personal account. Please what should I do?

Dear Nairalander,

I will like your advise on my application, here is my profile:

Early last year I gained admission into cenetennial college, program: Food science technology Fast-Track (It is a 2year program) In May 2018, I applied for student visa and I was denied June 4th 2018. Reason for denial; Purpose of Visit, Current employment status and Personal assets and financial Status. As at then I was a corper and therefore was serving as a teacher in a government school. I showed evidence that I was serving so I guess it was a red flag cos getting the visa meant I will ignore my Nysc and travel.

Anyways I decided to complete my NySC before applying. So in November I completed my Nysc, I traveled to London, returned in November, traveled to France in January, returned in Feburary. However after my service, I decided to work in my Dad's company as a project manager since I couldnt seem to secure a job as a food technologist in Nigeria, whilst working with him, i realised I actually liked working as a project manager and I will like to be certified in Management and I can even take over from him when he retires.

And so I wrote to the school and Change my program from Food science to Global business management(Please bear in mind that My BSC is in Genetics and Biotech which is related to food science but not related to Global business management). Now I want to reapply for the visa,
do you me changing my course will negatively affect the outcome?,
also I have heard that the embassy dose not regard admission from colleges how true is this? Because my course is a PostGraduate Certificate program.
ALso in reapplying , what do I say in response to the VO's conclusion? do I reply the denial letter and also submit a statment of purpose letter? or are they one and the same?
Thanks awaiting your response
