Did u pay for the hotel lodge? did u need a UK VISA to stay in the lodge?

thank God for journey mercies

Yes o!
The hotel lodge was from private pocket o!

And they asked someone with an American green-card for his British visa...
He had none...

But she asked for out tickets to show we were indeed catching a flight the next morning...

But I answered this question in more details not more than 10 pages back, if you can read it up.

What you get is an automated mail, just reply the mail and tell the person that you got a mail from them and that they can get back to you on this email address, thats when they will reply you and to tell you why they want to get intouch with you

Ooh I see... It works by emailing one another, not a messenger per say.
Thank you...
So when I reply, do I have to type my email addy out in my reply?
Or the email address shows automatically with any reply?

Another thing about virgin Atlantic was the jollof rice and chicken they gave...The tiny rice did not taste like jollof,....
In conclusion I didn't enjoy the meal, the taste, the color, the size...lol.(chicken inclusive)

But I thank God for getting me to my destination.

Err I would say that if you have the money, use Emirates instead...

Hey guys please i bought virgin Atlantic would like to know if anyone has any advice for me?
i am a tall person, how is the leg room for economy seats etc?

From Nigeria to London it was tighter than the airplane that took us from London to Atlanta.

But you can buy seats with extra leg room...each leg roomed seats has different prices attached to them.

Hey guys please within Turkish airline and virgin Atlantic which is preferable also I'm traveling with my toddler, please those who have flown these airline I need review to make a decision, thank you .

Virgin Atlantic...No special treatment to pregnant women.

For seats with leg space, you pay extra on for them while in the air...They charge between £70- £ 120.

It was just a plain flight....
All I wanted was to reach my destination....

Went through London spent a night lodged in a hotel, left the next morning....

It was the sane type of service, nothing special.

If you say, I know 2 people who paid the hospital bills(I saw there receipts) and still went to collect WIC cos their host said its no biggie. Even though I discouraged them, they still went ahead.

But how could they Successfully register without Medicaid or proof of residency?

It is well with them, may they actually never suffer to become needy, since they decided to eat the food of the needy.

Hi @Ayotundesh
Wow...how did you pull off Grady? I called Grady a few months ago and we were told they officially stopped accepting international patients since Jan 27 this year o!

You are absolutely and 100% correct.
On arrival to one of their health centers, I was told that all their OBGYN are fully booked till January 2018.
I had my mouth opened and looked at my belly, because I know this baby is coming out way way before then.

And I know being short of cash.
I actually came to the U.S with $100, so my options were very very limited.
So whatever door that opened, I enetered it trusting God.

So I was like let me call my aunt, they gave me a phone, and then I called her & also Grady head office to complete my registration on the phone.
And they also confirmed its till January 2018.

The thing is they just took me in sha...
Hope no one gets in trouble.
I asked for them to please do something for me, I was really exhausted...

So they sqeezed me in, I don't know how...
But I thank God...
Did every test thinkable...accept why I want, decline what I wasn't sure of.
I've had my scan last week downtown...

Just moving on wheels.
Having a little more money than I got here with.
smiley

God is One who really supplies All our 'Needs' sha

Hopefully would pick a baby car seat by next week...

Trying not to over feed... smiley
Just rolling well sha.

Hello Ayotundesh,

Why Grady and not Emory please ?

No special reason.

My aunt choose it, clinic distance is 20 mins from her, Hospital distance which is downtown is about 22 mins from her

Clinic distance is 38 mins from me,
Hospital distance is 45-50 mins from me.

My choice would have been a birth center because I want to take my time, I didn't want any hospital pressuring me.

In fact I guess Grady came up because everyone was like, let a doctor just check you at a clinic or health center, instead of registering towards delivery only in a hospital since I didn't do antenatal here.
Then afterwards I can work on which hospital to use...
And after all the checks & tests, they automatically referred me to their hospital for delivery downtown.

please how is London entry like before joining connecting flight to US

The immigration-customs queue was very long...
The officer asked someone with an American green card if he had a British visa because, we were to lodge in a nearby hotel over night and connect the next morning.

Anyway he said, no, no visa, so they asked for the ticket to show the details that there is indeed a connecting flight the next day.

After it was shown to her, she let us pass through to lodge for the night.

Now I'm not saying it's a rule or a law, that one. should drag rights with them....
But if they say No one can go through because of you don't have a visa, just gently & clearly explain to them to study your ticket and you will indeed be connecting a flight in some hours and you need to rest.

I say this because some people are experts in converting one person's luck or favour in scaling through as a general law in entering another man's country.

But if you are connecting straight away, you don't need to go through immigrations or customs because you don't need to leave the airport.

Also let me say,
The possibility of being denied visa is there not because you did anything wrong, or they don't like your face, or something...

It's just that I'm sure they have limits on approvals they can give, maybe per week, per month, per day...

I'm not sure they can say yes to everyone...

But do your best & God will see you through nevertheless.

So guys arrived Atlanta a little over 2 weeks ago.

I've been busy with paper work & registrations...

All the contracts & monies I was expecting before this time did not pull through...so I didn't start off with money like you guys.

Just been depending of The Grace of God and everything is working out Good.
I dont expect less from serving A Great God, opening doors here and there.

So still quite busy, it took quite some time for me to catch up...

Though my original plan was to use a birth centre.
But I would be using a health centre/hospital.

Still have so much to do before I can say I'm relaxing waiting for baby... smiley

Congrats in Advance everyone!

Just my thoughts

When they say do not take discounts or any form of aid, some still go ahead to register for WIC. Collecting something that is not your right and expecting nothing to happen is just wrong. You gave your info when registering for the AID so when they run a search, it would easily come up.

Please dont collect what does not belong to you!!!

WIC is a rather long way to go na...please..

I think the length of mistake anyone here has made is Medicaid only Abeg.

The requirements for wic is Medicaid plus other stuff.

Thank you.

I flew Dana from PH to Lagos last year at 32 weeks and had no issues. I was asked for a letter from my Dr saying I was fit to fly, I had it and gave them. The airline staff was very nice and went to make copies for me because he said I had to give one to the FAs on board.

Waow!

I was 34 weeks plus 2 days and all the available airlines for the day kept telling me 30 weeks....

They will accept both for record purposes...

Hello people just in case you are traveling local flights to connect with your international flights...e.g from Abuja to Lagos.

The local air lines don't allow you fly over 30 weeks,
within the country....
While international air lines go as far as 36 weeks.

Our local flights average 1 hour... not up to a regular Nigerian movie some may sit to watch.

Do you think they are trying to reduce the number of persons that deliver outside the country...because if a pregnant woman is at risk to fly for 45 mins - 1hour at30 weeks, are they safer to go on a whole day's journey on rough, bumpy, dangerous roads to same destination?

Guys /please before we close part 5, I have a question...

I remember the 1st time I asked a question smiley nobody answered me, I posted again... na laugh they laught at me...lol & I had to search out answers I needed & beg the house to help me confirm if my findings were correct till date because I got it from part 2.

Na beg I beg o! All fingers are not equal, we are not all having it the same...
I got the response & answers I needed.

Anyway,my question is at what point do we request for a wheel chair?
Is it when we take off or when we land or the ticket stand?

And when they wheel us, how about the people that travel with us?
How do they catch up with us being wheeled ahead especially if they are elderly?
Or do they wheel us at the pace we want?

Please o help me first time mum, never needed a wheel chair before.

Thank you guys!

I ve read various transcripts recently without any underlying explanation of why they were denied.

But few points i believe maybe the issue:

1. Previous US visa denials. If you ve been denied b1/b2 visa b4 you applied for b2 alone, this maybe a reason for ur recent denial, not been able to satisfy the vo that u qualify, strong ties, migrant risk etc.

2. Preggy mamas travelling with their children, 2 or more. How do you intend to take care of urself and baby? Without hubby again. I think its a no no.

3. No strong career ties in naija and applying with hubby, may appear like u pple want to immigrate.

4. Travel history is not a must here, i ve read about alot of mamas without a single travel history, including myself. Rate urself and genuinely look at ur intentions.

5. Plan ur travel well in advance. Pregnancy takes 9 months and not 9 days. Its affords ur more time to reapply in casd of denial and make ur travel plans conviniently.

On a general note, part 5 is almost over and it saddens me that wat we still find around is mamas who re ready to spent over $10k on this journey and cant read, surf the internet or research, we re still asking abt VOA, Notarial services etc that ve been discussed times without number. Yet when we get this info, we disappear into thin air, no visa grant or POE transcripts, no breakdown of fees incurred, nothing.

It is well.

Honestly I was going to say people say they have read through from the beginning and have learnt but say they have one question though...
And the answer to their question is 4 pages behind... smiley

It's only right that I come to give back to the platform which gave me so much information about this Journey to birth.

I come here quietly to read other mums experiences and prepare for my own. I'm not a first time mum but my first time visiting US to birth.

I got a US visa last year with my family for a conference/vacation which we eventually didn't use because we had to travel to the UK for my hubby's graduation which incidentally coincided with the conference date. Family first they say.

Fast forward this year, we planned on using it for summer but then I fell pregnant before then. It was a very difficult one trying to get a hospital, Doctor , accommodation and co. But this platform helped me a lot.

I settled for Oak bend in Richmond Tx. And Dr. Ziworitin Dama. I paid my Doctors bill in full before leaving Nigeria. I did the series of tests required in Nigeria too. Got my fit to fly from my Dr in Lagoon hospital and left and 34weeks plus.

My flight was a long one cos I flew British airways from Lagos to London to Newyork to Charlotte to HOUSTON. From what I read here I decided to avoid the Houston POE and enter through Newyork. I don't have energy to speak grammar and be held for hours in the name on inspection.
.
I requested for a wheelchair all through the journey. And it really helped. As soon as I'm out of the airplane, the wheel chair was already waiting to take me to my next gate. Pls avoid hand luggage. Use a stroller instead. I made that mistake and didn't find it funny carrying my heavy hand luggage
.
My POE was stress free. I was wheeled to the immigration officer first while others where on a long queue. The wheel chair places you as priority.

Immigration officer: what are you her for?
Me: vacation and to have my baby?
Immigratuon officer: Who is financing?
Me: I am
Officer: How much do you have?
Me: I have paid my Doctors bill already and I have xyz dollars
Officer: place your four fingers and your right thumb, look into the camera. Stamped my passport and said welcome to America. Finish

In all I didn't spend upto 2mins with him. I think Newyork is the best POE lol!. I was prepared also. I was then directed to the customs where I declared all I came with and left. Nothing was taken out or seized.

I have gone for my first appointment with Dr Z. I want to ask mums here who used him if your antenatal drugs where given free. Cos I didn't get any. Anyway I will discuss that on my next visit. I was also sent for my level 2 scan which I have done. Luckily a secondary school mate offered me free accommodation with her family. I have settled in and looking forward to my baby's arrival

Thanks to this platform and all the best to mums coming to the US

Congratulation ooooo!

It's sad these days people just read without understanding, and rather than ask questions, you decide you know it all. They missed their interview, asked for an expedited date, which they were given, a person who reads to understand would know the interview date they were given is today, which they went for and were denied. Hope you grasp this now!!! Mschewww

Dear you are just as harsh as the harsh-ness you were trying to prevent.

Anyway, I was not clear about the same part too.

Hello all,
My husband, two kids and I went for our interview today in Abuja and was denied under section 214b. I am presently pregnant, and i want to have the baby in the US as it was discovered during my last CS that my uterus had ruptured. We can afford this trip but no single document was checked.
My question is can i reapply ASAP but without my family this time? Will dat give me a better chance?.
I answered my questions very well but i guess my husband was a bit nervous.

Ooh Waow! please reapply immediate & maybe alone or just you & ur hubby as your support...
Have family ties that you'll leave behind.

But we can't know how well you answered your questions unless you tell us your whole interview with questions & answers...
It may not be your whole family's application, it might not be your hubby's nervousness...

Hey guys!

Please I just think in as much as we have expectant mothers & fathers on this forrum, please let's note that nobody here is our spouse that will be pampering us and treating us like egg.

Yes I know I've told someone to please take it easy on a pregnant woman please here on this group...Pregnancy is not a small thing.

But please we can't come here to expect a pat on the back for certain things, not discriminating but having a teachable spirit and not feeling like a victim just because we get scolded or asked questions.

In the end we are here to help one another...
some of us meet up after helping ourselves, building friendships outside this forrum, some of us share accomodation...

So please no body here joined this forrum to make an enemy out of another person!

Someone should be able to say...aaah u no try, wetin u think go happen before?'
And then move ahead without people that are not a part of the event or that didn't read the post properly saying there is an attack.

We all learn from other's mistakes after all & we learn from other's success stories too....

Please let's be learners rather than victims...

Keep trying until you get what you need.

It bothers me that a lot of teachers have gone silent, I just hope all this victim-talk did not chase them into silent mode...

If the teachers don't talk, again, infomatiom stops..and this will just be a group for Eyah, sorry, try again and congratulations on you safe delivery & trip...

It's a little bit of criticism that helped this group find the answers to solve the VOs & POEs puzzles...if we were not critical we would not have found the answers that we are all making use of today!

Please lets be a good sport & appreciate that we even got responses from people interested in our posts...

It is well with us.

Why not read properly before attacking someone.

''because they missed their appointment last week due to heavy traffic and we requested for an expedite date which was granted''

Really?? What the person said was an attack??
SMH
Do we have people that are ready to learn here or people that are ready to fight & defend as if the people here are victimizing them.

Please let those that need to learn ask their questions, let the persons that care to respond answer them.
People that have no answers play victims here or defend whatever...

So can I not ask a person why he/she is contradicting themselves, even if I'm wrong people allow the person to correct me...

aaah na wa o!
