Abu Huraira (RA) narrated that Rasool Allah (SAW) said, “Allah Tabaraka wa Ta’ala says when a person moves his lips for Zikr of Allah, I am with him. “ [Bukhari] |
Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah (Saw) said, "No man, who wept out of fear of Allah, will enter the Fire until the milk returns to the bosom. Dust raised in the way of Allah and the smoke of Jahannam will never be joined together." [at-Tirmidhi] |
Umar (ra) said: "You should look for sincere companions, they will be a source of pleasure at times of ease & a support at times of calamity. Think positively of your brother until he does something that justifies ur keeping away from him, there is no one who is trustworthy except one who fears Allah. Do not keep company with an evildoer lest u be influenced by his evil & do not tell him ur secrets. Consult those who fear Allaah about ur affairs" |
Troublesome thoughts A lady called, saying that whilst reading Salaah, the images of idols come in front of her and there is a whispering in her heart : “You are not a Muslim. You are a Mushrik (one who associates partners with Allah Ta’ala), so prostrate (or make sajda) to this idol.” Surely if an image like that comes before a person in Salaah, the person will become terribly worried. And she repeatedly hears this: “You have become a Mushrik. You have become a Mushrik.” As a result she was very, very anxious and worried, saying that due to this worry, she hadn’t slept. Due to the frequency of these whisperings, she was becoming a nervous wreck. She did not know as to whether she would die as a Muslim or not. In fact, she believed that she had lost her Imaan. Nevertheless, I asked this lady a simple question : “Are you comfortable with this thought, that you have turned away from Islam and that you are worshipping this idol, which you see in front of you ?” She said : “No, I am very worried. I am a Muslim and wish to die a Muslim.” To this reply, I said : “That is the sign of Imaan. If you did not have Imaan, then you would have been extremely comfortable with that thought.” The person who is a Christian, Jew, Hindu or Atheist, does not find discomfort in believing what his respective faith asks him to believe. The person is not uncomfortable with these ideologies, doctrines and credences, be it of Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Atheism, etc. On the other hand, those Muslims who are tormented with such thoughts, images or whisperings are most uncomfortable with them. |
Lets revive a Sunnah today: It is reported that, Whenever the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W.) went to bed, he used to recite Surat-al-Ikhlas, Surat-al-Falaq and Surat-an-Nas and then blow on his palms and pass them over his face and those parts of his body that his hands could reach. And when he fell ill, he used to order me to do like that for him [narrated Aisha in Bukhari] Lets start reciting the last 3 surahs before we sleep and do as our Prophet (saw) did. A very small effort with a big reward InshAllah. |
Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: Allah's Apostle (S.A.W) said, "It is one of the greatest sins is that a man should curse his parents." It was asked (by the people), "O Allah's Apostle (S.A.W)! How does a man curse his parents?" The Prophet (S.A.W) said, "'The man abuses the father of another man and the latter abuses the father of the former and abuses his mother." [Bukhari] |
Weekly reminder: Do not forget to recite Suratul Dhukhan today, remember we will get the prayer of 70,000 angels. The following recitation is only 7mins. 7min is a small time considering the fact we will get the prayer of 70,000 angels. May Allah give us the blessing to do more Ibadah. Ameen. “A learned man who doesn’t restrain his passions is like a blind man holding a torch, he guides others but not himself.” [ Shaykh Sa’di ] |
It is reported that, the Prophet (saw) said : "The dua of a Muslim for his brother (in Islam) in his absence is readily accepted, an angel is appointed to his side, whenever he makes a beneficial dua for his brother the appointed angel says "aameen and may you also be blessed with the same". [Sahih Muslim] |
Abu Hurayra (RA) reports that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) was asked, “What prayer is most virtuous, after the obligatory prayers (Fard salath)?” He said, “Prayer in the depths of the night (Tahajjud).” [Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Nasa’i, Ibn Majah] |
"I saw a pious man on the seashore wounded by a tiger. No medicine could relieve his pain; He suffered much, but he nevertheless constantly thanked Allah, the most high, saying,“Praise be to Allah that I have fallen into a calamity and not into sin." [Abu Abdullah Adhami] |
"No fatigue, disease, sorrow, sadness, hurt or distress befalls a Muslim - not even the prick he receives from a thorn - except that Allah expiates some of his sins because of it. " (Sahih al-Bukhari) |
"There is nothing more difficult for me to correct than my intentions, for it continually attempts to change." ( Sufyān al-Thawrī ) |
"Allah forbid [that] men should be jealous of knowledge as they are jealous of women." -Umar Ibn al-Khattab (r.a.) |
It is reported that, The Prophet (saw) advised Ibn Abbaas (ra): "Remember that there is much good in bearing with patience that which you dislike, and that victory comes with patience, and that with hardship comes a way out and with difficulty comes ease." (Ahmad) |
Shaytan:The Rejected Dog Mullah Ali Qaari (Rahmatullah ‘alaih), in his commentary of Mishkaat Sharief, which is entitled Mirqaat, states that "Shaytaan is like a dog, outside at the door, having been chased out by its owner." Hazrat Maulana Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Saheb(Daamat Barakaatuhum), had explained in one of his talks that some people who own palatial homes, keep huge dogs from foreign countries. What are these dogs kept for ? …To bark at people when they come. In doing so, these people are kept at bay and are thus unable to enter that house. What would happen if a person, wanting to enter the house, begins to fight that dog ? When that dog barks viciously and threateningly, the person challenges the dog : “I’m going to fight you.”. The dog barks, so he also barks at the dog … and the bark of some dogs is like the roar of a lion. If this person engages the dog in a barking contest, he is not going to enter that house. All he has to simply do is ring the bell. The master of the dog will come out and he will address the dog in some code language. The dog will then drop its tail and sit down, or it will then move away. Is not this the sensible thing to do ? …Just summon the master of the dog. Therefore, when this Shaytaan barks (whispers), then don’t argue with him. Don’t bark back. His knowledge is extensive . He has got the knowledge of all the Shariats. At such times, read ‘Ta’awwuz’… “A’oozu billahi minash shaytaanir rajeem.” Seek protection in Allah Ta’ala from the mischief of this rejected dog, Shaytaan. Allah Ta’ala did not direct us to challenge and fight Shaytaan. He did not also say that we punch, kick, boot and shoot him. Allah Ta’ala says : ‘You turn towards Me.’ It is mentioned in the Qur`aan Sharief : “And if an evil whisper comes to you from Shaytaan then seek refuge with Allah. Verily, He is All-Hearer, All Knower.” (Surah Al-A’raf 7 : 200) |

It is reported that Rasullallah (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said: "Do not express joy at the misfortune of your brother, for Allah may have mercy on him and involve you in misfortune." (Tirmidhi). |
"Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is moved away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception." Quran[3:185] |
It is reported that, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “I guarantee a house in Jannah (Paradise) for one who gives up arguing, even if he is in the right; and I guarantee a house in the middle of Jannah for one who abandons lying even for the sake of fun; and I guarantee a house in the highest part of Jannah for one who has good manners” [ reported by Imam Abu Dawud] I feel like posting this hadith again and again. The above mentioned 3 characters seems easy to achieve but in reality it is quite rare among us. May Allah include us in the group of people with Good manners. Ameen. |

It is reported that, The Prophet (saw) said: "Jibreel came to me and said: ‘O Muhammad, live as long as you want, for you will die. Love whomever you want, for you will leave him. Do whatever you want, for you will be held accountable for it. Remember that the believer’s honor is his praying at night, and his pride is his being independent of people.’ " — Sahih al-Jaami |
9.Making much dua(supplication) Dua is defined as any invocation or prayer addressed to Allah (SWT). In our times, we find many reasons why people do not make Dua; we forget, don't know how, or just do not think it will be answered. Fundamental to this is the loss of dependence and trust upon Allah. As Muslims there is something very wrong when we believe our Duas won't be answered. We do not turn to Allah in our times of need and instead put our trust, dependence and hopes on worldly things that we think willhelp us. Although these temporal things are the means through which our Duas can be answered, the root of our being should be trained automatically to turn to Allah and not anything or anyone else. Through Dua, we strengthen our Imaan and our relationship with Allah, as well as heighten our awareness of cause and effect that can help inspire and motivate us to be closer to Islam in our lives. We find many reassurances throughout the Quran for those who make Dua. Allah the Exalted, has said: "And your Lord says: Pray unto me: and I will hear your prayer" (Quran 40:60), "Call upon your Lord Humbly and in secret" (Quran 7:55), "When My servants question thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me" (Quran 2:186), "Is not He (best) who listens to the (soul) distressed when it calls on Him, and who relieves its suffering." (Quran 27:62) Aisha radhiallaahu anha said, "No believer makes Dua and it is wasted. Either it is granted here in this world or deposited for him in the Hereafter as long as he does not get frustrated." In fact, it is even wrong to never make Dua, "Whosoever does not supplicate to Allah, He will be angry with Him." [Saheeh Jaami`as-Sagheer #2414] We can and should make Dua in every condition, i.e. in hardship and in prosperity. There are also some special times to make Dua where it is more likely to be accepted: When one is oppressed Between the time of Athan and Iqama At the time of the call for prayer At the time of fighting when warriors are engaged with each other When it is raining When one is sick The last third of the night Ramadan (especially Lailatul Qadr) After the Fard part of prayer When traveling When breaking fast Fridays, some say on Friday after Asr prayer While drinking the water from the well of Zamzam While one recites al-Fatiha (which is a Dua) When Ameen is said in the prayer (also relating to Fatiha) At the end of Wudu On the day of Arafah On waking up from sleep At times of adversity Prayer after the death of a person Dua when someone's heart is filled with sincerity and when it is focused on Allah Dua of the parent against or for his children When the sun moves from its meridian but before the Dhuhr prayer The Dua of a Muslim for his/her brother/sister without the latter's knowledge At the time the army advances to fight in the way of Allah. Dua can be beautified and perfected by certain actions: 1. Have Wudu, face Qibla, be neat and clean 2. Raise both hands up to the shoulder with palms open facing up 3. Use words of Allah and Muhammad (SAW)-i.e. Duas found in Quran and Hadith 4. Ask by Asma alHusna- Allah's Beautiful Names 5. Ask Allah by your good deeds 6. Be insistent-repeat (i.e. 3x's) 7. Glorify Allah and recite Durud for the Prophet (SAW) at both the beginning and end 8. Show humility, entreaty, desire and fear while making Dua 9. Repent and try to make amends where one has wronged 10. Confess mistakes, shortcomings, and sins 11. Keep voice between a whisper and speaking aloud 12. Show the need for Allah's help and implore Him for release from weakness, hardship and tribulation. 13. Seize the opportunity of time, situation and circumstance in which prayers are answered 14. Avoid rhymed prose to keep concentration 15. Crying when making Dua 16. The Dua of Prophet Yunus (as) by which he invoked Allah from within the belly of the whale was: "LAa ilaha illa Anta, Subhanaka innee kuntu min aDH-DHaalimeen." 17. End with "Alhamdulillah rabbil alameen" No Muslim ever makes Dua with it but Allah answers it." [at tirmidhi in his sunan, ahmad and hakim reported it and hakim declared it authentic and adh dhahabee agreed] Allah Almighty says in the Qur'an: "When my servants ask you concerning me, (tell them) I am indeed close (to them). I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls on me." [2:186] The place of duaa is so high to Allah, that the Prophet had said: "Nothing is more honourable to Allah the Most High than du`a." [Sahih al-Jami` no.5268]. He also said: "The most excellent worship is du`a." [Sahih Al-Jami` no. 1133]; In order to warn those who are arogant, or careless in making duaa, the Prophet said: "The most incapable person is the one who does not make du`a, and the most miserly person is the one who does not give salaam." [Sahih Al-Jami` no. 1055], And let not there be anyone who says: ", my Lord won't answer my prayer, because of this and that, or because of so and so, ". No! Indeed Allah is the Most Generous King. Is there anyone who met a king, and praised and glorified him, and then asked, yet the request was not granted? So what about Allah, the King of the Heavens and the Earth - who has total control over your life, your wealth and your future. Why would He not grant you your request? Indeed, our beloved Prophet had said: "Verily your Lord is the One modest and Generous, and when His servant raises his hands to Him in supplication, He is diffident (in some wordings, shy or hesitant) from returning them empty." [Ahmad, Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi - Hasan] |
"People with goals succeed because they know where they are going. And when the ultimate goal is Allah, everything else will fall into place almost immediately. It’s as simple as that." [ Ustadzah Sharifah Maimunah Alhabshi] |
"Whosoever causes his heart to settle with his Lord shall be in a state, calm and tranquil, and whosoever sends it amongst the people shall be excessively perturbed." ( Ibnu Al Qayyim) |

It is reported that, the Prophet (Saw) said : "If the son of Adam possessed a valley full of gold he would want to have two valleys, yet his mouth will only be filled by earth. Allah turns towards those who turn in repentance." [Shaheeh Al Jamee'] |
Abu Bakr (r.a.) said: " He who aspires to paradise should learn to deal with people with kindness. " |

A really really good Quote. "Do not become proud merely because you worship often, for consider what happened to Iblees after he spent a great deal of time worshipping." -Hasan Al-Basri (rahmatullahi alahi) |
The Prophet (SAW) said: ''If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day, would you notice any dirt on him?'', They said, ''Not a trace of dirt would be left. '' The Prophet said: ''That is the example of the five prayers with which Allah blots out evil deeds.'' (Bukhari and Muslim) |
''You place into great scrutiny the faults of others but conveniently disregard your own. With such a state of affairs, how do you expect your prayers to be answered when you yourself have shut its doors? Be pious, rectify your deeds & enjoin the good & forbid the evil so that your prayers are answered." [Ibn Qayyim] |
