Stereotyping a whole community based on interacting with a few is not exactly credible. All communities have good and bad people. But hey you are entitled to have your own opinion.
Well opinions are like 'fart'. Some are silent, some are noisy, some are smelly but they dont last long ; )

My tongue is not fit for dua

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

A man came and requested that dua be made for him.
Hazrat Thanwi (R.A.) said: “Brother! You too make dua and I will also make dua.”
The man said: “My tongue is not fit for dua.” (In other words, he did not consider himself worthy of making dua.)
Hazrat Thanwi replied: “Do you recite the Kalimah?”
The man said: “Yes.”
Hazrat Thanwi: “The Kalimah has greater blessings than dua. How come your tongue is worthy of reciting the Kalimah?
In fact, Shaitaan made dua at the very time when he as being cursed by Allah Ta’ala.
He supplicated: “Grant me respite(delay of punishment) until the day when people will be resurrected.”
Allah Ta’ala answered his dua: “You are among those who have been granted respite.”

When even Shaitaan was not deprived of acceptance of dua, how can we be deprived?
The fact of the matter is that Shaitaan has deceived us into believing that our tongues are not worthy of making dua. People consider this attitude to be humility (when in reality it is not).

“It is strange that a person may find it easy to protect himself from eating Haraam, oppression and injustice, adultery, theft, drinking Khamr, and from unlawful looking, but it is hard for him to restrain the movement of his tongue. How often do we see people who are very cautious about falling into shameful deeds or injustice, but their tongue lashes against the living and the dead and they don’t mind it?”
He further said: “Some people have the disease of criticizing all the time. They forget the good about others and only mention their faults. They are like flies that avoid the good and pure places and land on the bad places and on wounds. This is because of the evil within the self and the spoiled nature.”

Shaytaan’s endeavor is to mislead. He has asked Allah Ta’ala for life until the Day of Qiyaamah. The story of Shaytaan is
mentioned in the Qur`aan Sharief :
When Shaytaan was rejected, he said : “My Lord! Give me then respite till the day the (dead) are resurrected.”
(Surah Sawd 38 : 79)
On being granted life till the Day of Qiyaamah, he declared his open enmity for all of mankind :
“By Your Might, then I will surely mislead them all – except Your chosen slaves amongst them, sincere and purified (by Your Grace).”
(Surah Sawd 38 : 82/83)
In Surah A’raaf, Allah Ta’ala has warned and cautioned us :
“…Verily Shaytaan is an open enemy unto you.”
And again in Surah Fatir as well :“Surely Shaytaan is an enemy to you, so treat him as an enemy…”

Since Shaytaan is our open and declared enemy, he will then most definitely follow through with his promise … and what is his promise ?
He said : “Because You have sent me astray, surely I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your Straight Path.
Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them as
thankful ones (i.e. they will not be dutiful to You).”

(Surah A’raaf 7 : 16/17)

Allah Ta’ala in turn said : “Certainly you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the ‘ghaween’
(Mushrikeen, those who are astray, criminals, polytheists and evil doers, etc.).”

(Surah Al-Hijr 15 : 42)
Allah Ta’ala also says : “Verily, he has no power over those who believe and put their trust only in their Lord (Allah).”
(Surah An-Nahl 16 : 99)

Thus, Shaytaan will not have any power, any effect, any force or any control over those people who truly and sincerely believe in
Allah Ta’ala and place their complete trust in Allah Ta’ala. On such faith and reliance, Allah Ta’ala will not allow Shaytaan to
mislead them.  Shaytaan will only succeed in misleading those who have made him their friend, who follow and obey him. If we were to befriend
Shaytaan, then he would certainly mislead and misguide us and these whisperings would then manifest their profound, yet evil and
adverse effects.
Allah Ta’ala says in the Qur`aan Sharief : “His power is only over those who obey and follow him (Shaytaan)…”
(Surah An-Nahl 16 : 100)

Whisperings to the Righteous
Shaytaan, however, whispers into the hearts of the good just as he does to those who are indulging in evil. In a Tafseer (commentary)
of Surah Naas, it is mentioned that those who are making an effort towards piety, righteousness and gaining the closeness of Allah
Ta’ala and Rasulullah (saw) should also seek protection in AllahTa’ala from the whisperings of Shaytaan.

Shaytaan makes a greater effort to mislead the pious through pride, arrogance and riyaa (show). Just as pride and arrogance
destroyed Shaytaan, the same could result via his whisperings.

IslamRe: Symptoms Of Weak Faith & ways to increase Imaan by azharuddin(op): 2:56am On Feb 23, 2011
10.Having Trust in Allah

The best way for us to increase our Imaan is to completely submit our will to Allah and have full trust in him and we can do this by doing out utmost to follow every command in the Qur’an and Sunnah. We should live our life according to them and we will find success around every corner of our lives inshallah. If we turn to Allah in happy times then he will help us in times of distress and anguish. We should have patience in Allah's Decree and accept it that it is for the best and is meant to happen because he is the knower of all things and the almighty and always remember that no matter what trials or tribulations we do face in this World, one day we will be called to account for our deeds which were hopefully sent forth with much goodness and patience.I pray that inshallah on qiyamah we be given our good deeds in our right hands and Allah has mercy on us and gives us Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen

In Surah At-Tauba: 51, Allah (SWT) says "Say:
'Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us: He is our protector': And on Allah let the Believers put their trust."

In Surah Ash-Shu'araa:217 Allah (SWT) says
"And put thy trust on the exalted in Might, The Merciful."

In Surah Al-Imran:159, Allah (SWT) says
", Then, when thou hast taken a decision, put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him)."

"If Allah helps you, none can overcome you; If He forsakes you, who is there, after that, that can help you? In Allah, then, Let believers put their trust. "
[3:160]

It does not matter what you do, obey or disobey, the result will be that you will receive what Allah has ordained for you. You can not add to it or subtract from it. What you do is either benefit yourself with the blessings of obedience or harm yourself with the fruits of your disobedience. We have been told that what is for us can't miss us and what is not for us can't hit us.

We have to learn to trust that Allah will take care of us when we obey Him and that He wills withdrawal His Great Mercy when we disobey. Every morning the bird goes out to seek the provision Allah has given him, and every night he comes home with it. Allah has promised us our provision.

Umar Ibin Al Khattab narrated that he heard Allah's Messenger(saw) say, "If you were to trust in Allah genuinely, He would give you provision as He does for the birds which go out hungry in the morning and come back full in the evening."
Tirmidhi and Ibin Majah (sahih).

Trusting in Allah means that when we hear a command, we obey it. We recognize that we are limited and that Allah has no limits. He knows what we do not know. We do not try to explain away the commands of Allah by saying that it is for another time or another people. We do not say that what Allah has commanded for us is oppressive. We accept and obey. This is faith and trust.

There is much reward in trusting Allah, paradise. There is sin in distrusting Him. We need to stop relying on our desires our minds our version of logic and realize that Allah is the one who knows while we know not. Allah is the Wise, and His judgments are wise by default. Allah is the Just and His verdicts are Just by default. We can not see everything in every issue as Allah can, so why do we insist on believing that our minds can be trusted before or instead of Allah?

I pray to You, O Allah, to make us trust you and only you. May you make us of the Trusting and keep us from trusting or worshipping our minds before you. Ameen.

Finally let’s have full hope in Allah, for verily Allah the All Mighty says:
“Be not deceived by the [uninhibited] movement of the disbelievers throughout the land. [It is but] a small enjoyment; then their [final] refuge is Hell, and wretched is the resting place.”
[Aal-Imraan 196-197]

Nice read, good lessons.

But you see, some people are not good at answering questions spontenously.
The guy clearly had a purpose for the questions whereas the girl was caught unawares. Left to me, I wouldn't judge that girl as being bad based on the described scenario.
Ofcourse you cant get right answers to such personal questions in the first meeting.
This is just a story with a beautiful inner meaning. The story rightly stresses on the problems faced by us youth today. Most of us while searching for a spouse go after beauty, money and outward things. The moral of the story is rather than looking for such things we should look for good manners, love for Allah, willingness to compromise etc.

May Allah bless us with a good spouse.

IslamThe Marraige Proposal by azharuddin(op): 6:10am On Feb 20, 2011
A story i found in facebook.

The Marraige proposal
Dedicated to those especially who are waiting for their soul mate,

Once there was a very handsome, pious, well educated young man, whose parents emphasised for him to get married. they had seen so many marriage proposals, and he had turned them all down. The parents thought it was becoming a little ridiculous or suspected that he may have someone else in mind.

However every time the parents left the girls house, the young man would always say "she's not the one!" The young man only wanted a girl who was religious and practising, however one evening his mother arranged for him, to meet a girl, who was religious, and practicing.

On that evening, the young man, and girl, were left to talk, and ask each other questions. (As one would expect). The young man, being a gentleman that he was allowed, the lady to ask first.

The young girl asked the young man so many questions, she asked about his life, his education, his friends, his family, his habits, his hobbies, his lifestyle, his enjoyment, his pastime, his experiences, his shoe size.

The young man replied to all of her questions, without tiring, and politely, with a smile the young girl took up nearly all of the time, over an hour, and felt bad, and asked the young man do you have any questions?

The young man said, it's ok. "I only have 3 questions." The young girl thought, wow, only 3 questions okay, shoot.

The young man's first question was, "Who do you love the most in the world, someone who's love nothing would ever overcome?"
She said, "this is an easy question; my mother," he smiled

Second question, he asked, "you said that you read a lot of Qur'an, could you tell me which surahs you know the meaning of?"
Hearing this she went red and embarrassed and said, "I do not know the meaning of any yet, but I am hoping to soon insha'Allah I've just been a bit busy."

The third question the young man asked, was "I have been approached for my hand in marriage, by girls that are a lot more prettier than you, why should I marry you?"
Hearing this the young girl was outraged, she stormed off to her parents with fury, and said "I do not want to marry this man he is insulting my beauty, and intelligence." And the young man and his parents, were once again, left without an agreement of marriage.

This time, the young mans parents were really angry, and said "what did you do to anger that girl, the family were so nice, and pleasant, and they were religious like you wanted. What did you ask the girl?? Tell us!"

The young man said, "firstly I asked her, who do you love the most? she said, her mother," The parents said so, what is wrong with that??The young man said, "'no one, is Muslim, until he loves Allah, and his messenger (saw) more than anyone else in the world'
If a woman loves Allah and the Prophet (pbuh) more than anyone, she will love me and respect me, and stay faithful to me, because of that love, and fear for Allah (swt). and we can share this love, because this love is greater than lust for beauty."

The young man said, "'then I asked, you read a lot of Qur'an, can you tell me the meaning of any surah?' And she said no, because I haven't had time yet. so I thought of that hadith "ALL humans, are dead except for those who have knowledge" She has lived 20 years and not found ANY time, to seek knowledge, why would I marry a woman, who does not know her rights, and responsibilities, and what will she teach my children, except how to be negligent, because the woman IS the madressah (school) and the best of teachers. And a woman who has no time for Allah, will not have time for her husband."

"The third question I asked her was, that a lot of girls, more prettier than her, had approached me for marriage, why should I choose you? That is why she stormed off, getting angry." The young man's parents said" that is a horrible thing to say, why would you do such a thing, we are going back there to apologise." The young man said "I said this on purpose, to test whether she could control her anger." "The Prophet (saw) said do not get angry, do not get angry, do not get angry" when asked how to become pious; because anger is from Satan. If a woman cannot control her anger with a stranger she has just met. Do you think she will be able to control it with her husband??

So, the moral of this story is, a marriage is based on:
*knowledge - not looks,
*practice - not preaching,
*Forgiveness - not anger,
*spiritual love - not lust.
*and compromise

One should look for a person who :

1) Has love for Allah (swt) and the messenger (saw)
2) Has knowledge of the deen, and can act upon it.
3) can control their anger
4) and willing to compromise.

And it goes both ways, so women seeking a man, should look for the
same things.

Insha'allah, may Allah make every marriage a success, and let us create Love for Allah and his messenger(saw) so that Allah can bless us, and create love in our lives.

Ameen

Don’t ever underestimate Du’a. What is the value of du’a?
That you are transferring a situation from your power and ability to the power and ability of Allah.
You are moving obstacles from yourself to the One who has no obstacles.
