I think they can pull it off. All it takes is financing. You can bet that a bank like Bank PHB and Storm Nigeria would not put their foot out withut being sure of what they are about to do. Remember that The Apprentice is an international franchise which has standards that are met before the license is given. Remember the quality of Big Brother Nigeria? It was excellent. |
Hey All, Please do not be discouraged by what happened on Saturday. Every one of them was under the influence of alcohol. Big Brother is taking huge damage control steps. Shit happens! That is life. For those of us that are concerned that what happened will affect Ofunneka after she leaves the house - with the money, of course - I don't think it will. What did she do? Did she steal, kill, lie, backstab, sell her body for money or a promotion on the job, ruin another's reputation, practice witchcraft, and disrespect her elders? She did not do anything to indicate a character defect. 99% of adults have sex, so what is the big deal. People get nasty in bed. It happens everyday behind closed doors. What about people with clear judgment who jump into bed and have sex on international tv and still live their lives after that? E.g. Gaetano and Abbe of BBA 1, Ify and Katung of BBN (Ify is now married to her tv boyfriend, Mudiaga and they are living happily somewhere in Lekki.) I have found that stuff like this are not as serious and implications as far reaching as we first think they are. Ofunneka has a great life and career ahead of her. Some "15 minutes" display of bad judgment will not hamper her chances at happiness in any way. Ofunneka for the money! |

I was a bit surprised at the turn against Ofunneka because she did not comfort Maureen. But I was not entirely surprised; I have seen, in not to distance history on a reality show such as this, the fickleness of fans. Think about it, Ofunneka's hard work in the house and her strategy on the game should be wiped off because of one "mistake" or omission as it were? And such a comment coming at a crucial time, coming from an opinion leader (yes, Tampico that is what you are on this forum). Then, Tatiana who has nothing to offer except seductiveness, strange womanness, adulterousness (forgive me if the last two words do not exist in English language) is being touted as a winner over Ofunneka? Like I said, I have seen it all before, curiously, in the other reality show it came at Top 4. In BBA 2, it is coming at Top 4. ![]() Leads me to ask a question, is history repeating itself? If history is repeating itself, then Ofunneka's fans will stand strong with her and give her the prize. Period! Personally, I don't care about "threats". A winner is a winner. Ofunneka is a winner. Her fans should hang on to that and make her win. |
Hi All, I heard that this week, BB is changing the rules of the game. Specifically, the public will nominate who they want up for eviction, then the housemates will vote for who they want to leave. Not sure o! It's what I heard. |
Ofunneka has my total respect. She just sang both stanzas of the National Anthem. Many Nigerians can only remember the first stanza. There was a time I tried to find someone who could sing the second stanza without practicing. I went through 50 people, most people could not pass the second line. I don't really blame anyone though, the second stanza is hardly sang in pubic. I am proud of her. She makes me proud of our country. Up Ofunneka. |
"Harassment refers to a wide spectrum of offensive behavior. When the term is used in a legal sense it refers to behaviors that are found threatening or disturbing, and beyond those that are sanctioned by society. Sexual harassment refers to persistent and unwanted sexual advances, typically in the workplace, where the consequences of refusing are potentially very disadvantaging to the victim." "Sexual harassment is harassment or unwelcome attention of a sexual nature. It includes a range of behavior from mild transgressions and annoyances to serious abuses, which can even involve forced sexual activity." The underlining element here is "unwanted or unwelcome". The attention can only be termed harassment if the object of the attention considers it so. Moronic Kweku seemed to enjoy the attention from the ladies and did not seem to have any problems showing them his genitals. I would not say that Kweku was sexually harassed. I think they were all having fun and never gave their actions a second thought. If a lady on BBA was "hounded" by five guys who were trying to force her undies off and all she did was smile and giggle at their actions and eventually of her own volition stripped for them. We would be wondering how empty her value system is. So, the joke is on Mr. Woman Wrapper Kweku and not the ladies. I think Richard's experienced can be termed harassment. But if BB does not sweat it, then we shouldn't. I think the girls did not see it in that light. Besides it was the "weaker" sex against the "strong" sex. Everybody tends to look the other way when it is woman-on-man harassment. Interesting, most people find their behaviour cute. How do we explain the continental admiration Richiana is getting? An obvious adulterous affair! Beats me. About this kind of behaviour raising steam in the UK version of Big Brother, I would say that lots of things have been shown in the BBA 2 that would not be shown in the UK. If we are to start comparisons, how far back do we go? So much "un-African" behaviour has been manifested in the BBA House already. I think it is a little bit late in the game to talk about our values and how they are not being reflected in the house. This is a universal crisis and my conclusions are: If you are looking for the entertainment industry to teach you your values, then you are in for a very big disappointment. The industry is a business with the aim of making money. And they do this through ratings. And they know that deviant behaviour sales. And they are not changing this anytime soon. I have a question, would any of us still be watching BBA 2 if the house mates all went in there clutching their bibles and acting like monks and nuns? No backbiting, no romance, no cliques, no backstabbing, no shower hour, nothing. Let's loosen up a little bit and enjoy the show. |
@Lawyerchap I was beside myself when I read your post where you said your were beside yourself when you read from me. Yes, I was at Waterparks. I could not miss it for the world. Thank God He spared our lives for that day and He still shows mercy till this day. I give glory to Him and Him alone.@BBA 2 Forum This Kweku guy is the most disgusting person I have seen in a long time. What the hell is wrong with that dude? In the morning he has an American accent. By lunch time, he has a Ghanaian accent. In the evening, he is talking like a Lagos boy. All the while counting his words like a young version of our erstwhile Head of State, Olusegun Obasanjo. What a slowpoke that Kweku is. That guys is so irritating. I wish he were up for eviction. Woman wrapper! Such a fool. I expected him to read the handwriting on the wall by now and start disentangling himself from the losers and moving over to the winning side. Ofunneka stands a strong chance, more than anyone else, to win the money. She is looking so good. I am not voting now, but when the game changes and we start voting for the winner, I will vote like I did for Timi. ![]() |
Hey Guys, I had promised myself that I would not get involved on the discussions in BBA. Not after the emotional energy I expended on the Idols WA thread. So, I have been a silent ready from the very first day. Lawyerchap, you have my total respect. I have told you before. I have you in mind big time. You should consider doing this for a living. You will be in hot demand. I have some questions though. 1. Did Richard at any time sleep with Tatiana? I relayed Lawyerchap's submission on this subject, which I believe 100%, and some of my colleagues seem to feel differently. 2. Has Code actually slept with Maureen? 3. Did Maxwell really christen his group the untouchables or was the word untouchables coined by the fans of the show? Great job you guys are doing here. Very wise move to get rid of the troublemaker with despatch. The way we are going, we will surely bring home the money. Up Ofunneka. Up Nigeria |

@Seun: It's actually an abridged version of a joint press release from Bank PHB, Storm Vision, and the Executive Group presented at a press conference on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Bungalows in Victoria Island, Lagos. It's been all over the papers since last week. |
@Otuwe: I wish I were. I heard that Bank PHB pays big bucks. ![]() Truth is Bank PHB ought to be applauded for these initiatives. |

Bank PHB has recorded yet another milestone as the bank takes on the title sponsorship of The Apprentice Africa in conjunction with The Executive Group (TEG) and Storm Vision. The Bank’s vision remains an unflinching aspiration to leadership and the title sponsorship of The Apprentice proves once again the bank's commitment to leadership, innovation and capacity building. The Apprentice is one of the most globally recognized reality television franchises and the programme has, since it was launched in the US in 2004 by Donald Trump has been replicated in 23 countries of the world. The Apprentice is described as the ultimate, sixteen-week job interview, where contestants will compete in a series of rigorous business tasks, many of which include major companies and require street smarts and intelligence, in order to show the CEO, that they are the best candidate for the job. In each episode, the losing team is sent to the boardroom, where the CEO and his associates judge the job applicants on their performance in the task. One person is fired and sent home. Who will succeed? Who will fail? And who will be The Apprentice? As the most populous nation and arguably the most dynamic economy on the continent, Nigeria will be the host nation for The Apprentice Africa. The Apprentice Africa will attract educated, intelligent and highly talented young Africans from within Africa as well as amongst those in the Diaspora. The casting call will take place in five locations; Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, The UK and the US. Having done The Intern, which was a hit TV show, with The Apprentice, Bank PHB is upping the ante by identifying with a global brand and aligning with global best practices. With The Apprentice Africa, Bank PHB is telling the continuing story of the resilience and ingenuity of the African youth with Nigeria as the focal point. The bank is also playing a role in recreating Nigeria’s image by showing the quality of young leaders that Nigeria has. Bank PHB’s alliance with TEG and Storm Vision aims to broaden the bank’s continuing engagement with programmes and initiatives that aim to extend the frontiers of education, innovation and leadership. After the phenomenal success of The Intern which continues to receive plaudits months after it ended, Bank PHB has decided to expand the scope of its “Inspired Brilliance” outlook to encompass the African continent because of the bank’s new status as a global player and icon of banking excellence. |

Timi won for many reasons. 1. He worked the hardest in this competition. He entertained us the best. He showed the highest level of creativity. A cumulative review of performances showed Timi as the best. 2. He is for real. Not afraid to show his softer side. Not afraid to cry. Not afraid to pronounce words wrong. Not afraid of where he comes from. Not afraid to be himself. That is the stuff of greatness. 3. He connects with his audience and fans. The passion in his eyes. His body language on stage. All come together and created an unbeatable force. He grew bigger than the show. He became uncontrollable. Last minute attempts to discredit him, met stiff opposition from his fan base. 4. He is the best singer in the competition. Let's face it. His voice resonated in people. His voice his unique. When you hear his voice on radio, you stop and listen and ask, “Who is that?" He is just about the only person in the competition who has that gift. 5. He won the hearts of many people around the world with his voice. His fan base is made up of men and women, children of all ages, all over Africa. His fan base is fanatical. They made Timi’s matter their family matter. They were committed to seeing him win the competition. They put their resources, time, skills, effort, and integrity on the line for Timi. It is only a man favoured by God that can get the fan base that Timi has. Timi’s fan base knew what was important. Votes! And vote they did. They voted for Timi as if their very lives depended on it. 6. He acknowledged the Creator, every step of the way. 7. He is the only singer in the competition that defined himself. He is a soulful singer. He is a love song kind of singer. He loves his audience and his audience loves him. He made good song choices. Songs that connect him with the audience. Songs that need to be song. No drama, no theatrics. Just pure and raw talent. 8. Let's face it. Sweep all sentiments under the carpet. He was the best. Even if the like of Jodie, Uche, and Joan had made it to the finals, Timi would still win. I predict that Timi will sell the most records in Idol history and will go on to chart a path for himself as once of the greatest artistes that every came from these parts. Love him or leave him. It beats me when people declare that someone whom they have never met, tested, or sat in class with has IQ problems. If you ask me, Timi has shown the most wisdom in this competition. He chooses songs that suits his voice, songs that connects him with his audience, he is smart enough to define himself. That is more than I can say for Omawunmi. Timi is a soulful singer. Who the hell is Omawunmi (I don't hate her.) Timi is humble and respectful. He doesn't have "self esteem" issues. He is uncommonly humble and doesn't take himself seriously. How can a guy with self esteem issues render the powerful powerful performances that Timi has delivered in this competition? Eric is proud. Timi has self esteem issues. If Uche has made it to top 4, who knows what would be said about him. Give me a break! Some people just have to find something to use in running down a guy who is trying to make it in life. What is this diction issue? Abeg. Abeg. Diction? When Garou speaks you know he is French. When Seal speaks you know he is British. When Snoop Dog speaks you know he is from the hood. What is our problem as Nigerians with our accents? That fool, Nana, doesn't she have mother tongue interference when she talks. It's actually a shame the way we Nigerians carry on what accent issues like it's a deficiency. It speaks of a self-hate deeper than racism. I personally think that the different accents coming out of Nigeria makes us interesting and unique. I find the way Timi pronounces some words enjoyable. It should not be sweated. He can deal with it after winning Idols. Timi has a fading speaking voice. The type that makes him sound like he is whispering. If the guys working on sound cannot adjust the mics to make sure that we hear what Timi says in his interviews, then how is Timi to blame for that? Thabs says it all, Timi is well defined. His voice is unique. His voice connects with people. He moved you to be the best you can be. His is polite, humble, has a sensitive side. His stagemanship is excellent. He knows who he is as an artist. That my friend, is the stuff that stars are made up of. Timi is my Idol! |
BMO, please get in touch with passionate Timi fans. Send a mail to timifans-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Waiting , |
