isn't Olusegun Obasanjo one of them? |

lanaVello:IBB knew what he was doing by paving way for Abacha. Don't forget Abacha wouldn't have been so emboldened if IBB had done the right thing. IBB worked tirelessly to make sure Abacha finished what he had started by frustrating the June 12 mandate. But posterity is now using the same Abacha energy which revived a dying Muhammadu Buhari earlier destabilized by the same IBB to right the wrongs of the annulment. It is funny how MKO some years before the picture had saved the life of Abacha . Legend has it that Sani Abacha had been referred overseas to treat a life threatening ailment but no money until the news got to MKO who large heartedly paid for the trip sparing the life of a would be future tormentor. ...hmmm life, person no dey know finish. |
lanaVello:Yes and No. Yes because he started the psychological torment by annulling the election in the first place and tactically paved way for the bull into the Nigerian China shop in the person of Abacha after deliberatly compromising the elite class including kings except a few like the then Oba of Benin and the Awujale of Ijebu whom MKO himself publicly eulogized for disagreeing to join IBB in his ignoble venture. Abacha later took over and put Abiola in jail for declaring himself President. So many lost their lives ,health ,freedom and resources while engaging Abacha. But Abacha kept MKO alive until Abacha died in 1997 for IBB cousin or whatever Abdusalami to take over and finished the last phase of IBB's mess - the annihilation of MKO with the intention of killing June 12 and its spirit - a culture which subsequent PDP government has tried to sustain until the PMB declaration few days ago which has woken the spirit nationally no matter how belated. Caught in between IBB and Abacha - under whom he found his voice as PTF chairman after several years of being incarcerated literarily and physically by the same anti June 12 forces in the person of Ibrahim badamosi Babangida who never forgave Mamman Vatsa, ironically his best man, for casting the decisive vote for PMB to emerge as the C in C after the coup that oust Shagari- is Muhammadu Buhari. Soyinka and other human rights activists including Bola Tinubu had narrowly escaped overseas from Abacha's onslaught to launch the long fight for the reclamation of the June 12 mandate. It is a difficult situation for a Muhammadu Buhari who might have voted for MKO for I can tell you he wouldn't have voted for IBB in the person of Bashir Tofa. It is pertinent to point out here that Soyinka must not throw away the baby with the bathwater of Buhari's indiscretion of praising Sani Abacha publicly. Soyinka was once in this difficult position PMB presently found himself - a position of being in between two evils and where you just have to choose one: the lesser one. While celebrating his Nobel laureate in 1985, Dele Giwa was 'silenced 'by drug barons in power who had overthrown Buhari and Idiagbon who were planning to deal with the drugs lords in the then military who later annulled June 12 several years later. Dele Giwa's death was so painful that it left ' ashes in our mouths' according to Kongi himself who later served under IBB to birth a beautiful baby now a lovely Lady - The FRSC. Who would have thought that a Soyinka- Fela's cousin would have served under IBB after the Dele Giwa experience? But Soyinka chose to serve Nigerians rather than the emperor from Minna- at least we believe him. And I m giving PMB that benefit tonight. |
dealslip:I was busy. I am quite aware of Morocco's historical, geographical and socioeconomic status that can attract a bilateral hug from a darling like Nigeria which Clueless tactlessly bungled while he was in office . Of course I am also aware of Morroco hitching quest to join the AU. I had thrown you a bait earlier yesterday which you had refused to bait before I became busy. So when I saw that piece of info last night , I thought it nice to help upgrade a sister. don't you think? |
PrecisionFx:you are absolutely right sir. He knew Abacha had no patience when he has his eyes on power and would muddle up everything which easily divert attention from IBB misgovernance most especially the perfidy he perpetuated in NNPC which an MKO would have brought him to book no matter what.....and even after Abacha's death Major Almustapha protected MKO by planting a decoy ADC Zadok to Abiola but IBB through his cousin Abdusalami refused to free MKO after freeing all political detainees only for MKO to be ' dispatched' in the presence of the international community ( UN koffi Anan, US under Bill Clinton- condoleza Susan Rice ,Thomas Pickering and Madeleine Albright). MKO refused to renounce the mandate until he sees Nigerians who gave him the mandate. Question is why persuade Abiola to renounce the Nigerian mandate by the international conspiracy? |
Okorocha is APC in IMO and numero uno political south East. We won't allow any opportunist come from nowhere to reap what Owelle has sown. It won't ever happen. Never. Allow them waste their money first ,then we sweep them away with Oyegun. Okorocha we know. |

weyreypey:Eleka is Fayose and the two are worse vagabonds in power compared to an urbane, resourceful, and educated Fayemi who raised Ekiti IGR to N150m monthly that Fayose Eleka is presently stealing. |
weyreypey:dream on while Fayose sweats profusely on the fear of Fayemi's robust winning and the possibilities of thugnor going to jail by the end of this year or thereabout. |
let obj deny it. |
dealslip:The Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Kingdom of Morocco on Monday in Rabat, Morocco, signed 3 agreements, which, include a regional gas pipeline that will see Nigeria providing gas to countries in West Africa sub-region that extend to Morocco and Europe. The signing of the agreements, witnessed by President Buhari and King of Morocco, HM King Mohammed VI, followed a meeting between the two leaders that focused on strengthening economic relations in gas resource development, global investments and agricultural training and management. The feasibility study of the agreement on the pipeline, which was signed by the Group General Manager NNPC, Group, Mr Farouq Said Garba, and Mrs Amina Benkhadra, Director General of the National Office of Hydrocarbon and Mines, will be concluded by July 2018. The construction of the pipeline will be phased and based on increasing needs of the countries crossed, and Europe, for the period of 25 years. The Nigeria Morocco Gas Pipeline (NMGP), designed to be 5,660km long, will reduce gas flaring in Nigeria and encourage diversification of energy resources in the country, while cutting down poverty through the creation of more job opportunities. The Nigeria Morocco Gas Pipeline (NMGP) will further encourage utilisation of gas in the sub- region for domestic needs (cooking, etc) and discourage desertification. The MD/CEO, NSIA Nigeria, Mr Uche Orji and the CEO of the Office of the Management of Phosphate in Morocco, Mr Mostafa Terrab signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the development of a chemical plant in Nigeria for producing ammonia and its derivatives. The Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh and his Moroccan counterpart, Mr Aziz Akhannouch, signed a cooperation agreement on vocational training and technical supervision, which will enhance skills on better management of agricultural outfits in Nigeria. Earlier, Buhari, who was received by a large crowd from the airport to the Rabat Royal Palace, assured King Mohammed VI of Nigeria’s full commitment to the actualisation of all the agreements signed. SamuelAnyawu:because nairalanders ain't Nigerians ,and if they are Nigerians do you know them offline? una logic ehn. |
dealslip:are you really ready to learn? |
aycorporat:hmmm , if not a Buhari security would have been worse off. think from Niger Delta to NE is there any improvement ? Yes there is. |
SalamRushdie:while I won't agree less, don't make it look like an exclusively Buhari thing... it started before then and Buhari has changed and better than his accusers. |
ashjay001:tell her please. |

SalamRushdie:When supposedly elected officials threaten democracy ,patriots won't sit by and watch ask Zimbabweans. What are your statistics ? Won't you research before you go public ? So if truly had performed woefully in his first stint aborted by the same gang of thieves hovering presently around ,why would Nigerians beg for pmb's return after 30 years? How would those that told us to prepare for recession in 2014 at $65/ barrel would have been able to manage at $30/barrel? Buhari is just a Godsent. |
SalamRushdie:the military vow was loyalty to Nigeria which he had demonstrated severally e.g the overcoming of maitasene sects but no sane patriot would sit by and watch while Shagari unleashed deliberate poverty on the nation caused by official brazen and unbridled stealing like the Umaru dikkos while the ordinary citizens are forced to bear the brunt of such recklessness in the name of austerity - an old word for recession. In few months, PMB stabilized the economy until drug barons who weren't happy about the orderliness PMB was bringing took over and plunged us to hell which reached a crescendo in 2014 when another recession visited us hence our plea for Dr Buhari to return to cure us of the recession maladies after 30 years of our first encounter with him. Like every good physician, though with some natural flaws unexpected of mortals ,PMB has been busy tackling the causes of these maladies . If Buhari had not intervened ,shagari would have destroyed this nation and we would have been worse than Somalia. So we need to thank PMB . |
you guys should just leave for we are tired of you lots. Either you leave gently or we push you out so that you can go and use your electoral influence to win elections and let us see. PDP will always be PDP. |
undisputednesta:hmmm bros, even up till days ago ,Ras kimono still put smile on our faces. Somewhere in Lekki, last time i encountered him ,One American babe rap into one of his songs while he did his Rumba style while audiences sipped fresh palmy in calabash with suya and nkworbi- . We shall appreciate him and his mild activism using music to draw attention to African plights. He created a unique reggae style that is truly different from the rest. May his soul go back to God. |
Wao! Fayemi ,what a wonderful way to send a warning to Fayose that his days and antics are numbered! The best revenge and worst nightmare is to have the man you had wanted dead to lead a campaign against you . Fayose is in deep shiiit. |
Wike can only fool stupid people like himself with this kind of Wike cooked stories and criminal propaganda! Wike is really jittery about 2019. |
thesicilian:El rufai doesn't give a hoot about any religious inclination. He behaves more like a catholic sef. |
the chief killer himself is afraid of his own shadow. cop killer. |
tuniski:No sir, the bulk stopped at his table. He wanted to be a life president until Yardua begged Abiola to save the nation from the Gap toothed monster. |
Painful . May your soul go back to God, amen. Your music raised our consciousness about the plight of Africans; your unique reggae style fed our souls with nice organic tunes which are still soothing to our hearts, and which peal forth rhythm we easily swing to. You have lived well Ras Kimono. Adieu. |
Good. Kaduna is historical to Oshiobaba. Welcome Mr Chairman sir. |
Tell me it is a joke. So I won't watch Raskimono live again ? Please remove this lil sugar from me tea. |
joker, PDP by another name. |
