EFCC won't handle this case because the money involved is below their benchmark. I personally approached them through a lawyer and that's what they told us. Again, since the guy signed an agreement to pay but defaulted, the EFCC can't come in.

Hmmm maybe EFCC for your area. ...as long as it is financial crime EFCC can come in, but if it is default, SARs and even Civil defence can handle it.

story....in every ward is a register of all the card carrying members of the party and other relevant info. So if he is truly the Governor of Edo ,and has been representing the people well shouldn't he and his handlers have the names of all party members now ; from all the wards in each local government through the ward chairman to the local government chairman and finally to the state party chairman? This is just within his party oooo not the general election ooooo. Despite Gej's war to rig Osun for PDP didn't the people vote Aregbe? It is all about the people. If APC doesn't give Obaseki ticket and he is damn sure he has performed, let him pick any party and run on its platform to show the degree of his political acceptance by the people. At the end of the day, both candidates are either getting imposed or imposing themselves on the masses.

So its abt who has more.. Obaseki is scared Oshiomole, can influence more people, can pay more people, promise more people FG gifts while he-obaseki can pay less people.

What's more important is that all thru the permutation and combinations, nobody is really considering the citizen they want to lead.

Equally, the citizenry don't even know their power, they can refuse to vote and illegitmize the whole process or even vote one random party to make a point like they voted for Oshiomole then who worn from NCP who literarily at that time outperform his predecessors although later joined the bandwagon.

Realistically the people are the major problem, not just the politicians.

It is not really true, and an example from our relatively recent political history is about to bear me witness.

His name is Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former governor of Lagos state ,and national leader of APC. He was the governor of Lagos and was going for reelection in 2003 when the epitome of political brigandage in the party called PDP held power in Nigeria.

Obasanjo's PDP including a supposed umpire were obviously biased in favour of the PDP against the opposition parties. And Lagos was the awesomely beautiful bride PDP had wanted to rape willy nilly. It is a long story of how Obasanjo encouraged a war against democracy in 2003 that swept away the AD governors who had had an unwritten gentleman's agreement with OBJ only for the old fox to renege and deny it - a trait his political son, Ebele Jonathan would display to his (OBJ) utter chagrin about a decade later.

So drunk was PDP in its obsession of taking Lagos at all cost that special budget,rigging strategies and other resources were made available for the political hawks in Lagos. Unperturbed, Tinubu was busy taking care of the people for the political deity understood that politics and governance means the people while the PDP marauders saw the two as conduit pipes to loot our national treasury.

When election came ,the political general unleashed the people against the military general and his soldiers of riggers and were defeated despite the huge federal might's arsenal of resources to take Lagos from Tinubu. Asiwaju was able to survive because he had worked for the people ,and they testified with their votes for Tinubu's reelection.

So if Obaseki is popular with the people,let him submit himself to the best Democratic examination- the direct primary.

Why is Obaseki afraid of direct primaries if he has really performed? The ingrate liar is about to know.

I'm currently reading The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. Its about life was in US for immigrants in the 1900s. Gruesome! Like Naija in the 2000s.

Two must reads are George Orwell's 1984, and his A Clergyman's Daughter, if you haven't read them already.

Give me an idea of what you read and I'll look for you.

Presently I'm reading 1984 too. With my wide sympathies, I m promiscuous when it comes to reading . From Maria Correli, Blavatsky, John Grisham, Archer, Ludlum, Chase, Denis Robins, Glenn Meade, Barbara Taylor, Daniel n Danielle Steele, " Acid Raine " , Thomas Akempis" , all AMORC writings, Achebe, Soyinka, Ancient history, Barrack Obama, Clinton, Bush, El Rufai, TB Joshua, etc I read all.
