iykezamani: yes they asked me to submit my passport but i didn't since i was to get married. i thought they should have asked for updated POF instead Well I guess you need to submit your passport then. Did they give any deadline for the ADR. |

iykezamani: I got married after PPR and included my wife. I got ADR to provide a Canadian Employment Letter and Education certificates. I never stated in our application that we have an Employment in Canada ..how do i handle this anybody? Hmmm wonder the reason. Maybe they want you to show you have employment to support your wife. Did they ask you to submit your passport? Try sending a CSE explaining you have extra funds to support your wife, since you are not yet in Canada. |

revlane: To those that got married after AOR. Please I have these questions. 1. If I want to upload additional funds for spouse, can I just fix it for three months since my application will be almost three months by then. 2. Am thinking of adding spouse after PPR mail, is that a good strategy? As anyone done this successfully. 3. Like how long will it take to finalise spouse application when added.
Thanks For people that added after AOR it has prolonged their application don't know if it will be better after PPR. If you are already married I think you need to inform them now. |

Dotcman: Hello everyone, i read somewhere that IQAS is good for lawyers, does that mean that if I have a masters I get LL.b as masters and my Masters as additional qualification...
My real question is will it change my score I'm currently on 409 with IELTS 7.5 but I want to redo accessment and use Iqas. Having a professional degree awards you points for education which is higher than points for 2 certificates. You won't get additional points |

Ovatuwazza: Hello everyone. I am new on this forum and I wish I had come here sooner. I have already submitted my application but I am a bit worried about finances. Does anyone know what exchange rate is used to calculate required amount. Is it the exchange rate on the day you submitted or that of the day your application was processed? For example, maybe on the day I submitted, the naira equivalent of the amount I needed was 4million and on the day the financial side of my account was being evaluated, the naira equivalent rose to 4.3million because of inflation. Would I get rejected because of this? They use official exchange rate. Oanda/XE.com I believe the rate at the time u submitted shd be valid. |

vcole: @babachi, you may wanna hold off on registering for any exams until you land. There is a possibility of a review which would reduce the exams to 2 instead of 3 starting from next year. Well, as I am sure you already know, no license means no doctor job. There are physician assistant/clinical assistant jobs but you need a certification for that which you would pay for and in the grand scheme of things you may not wanna do that. There are also medical assistant jobs....like office assistant for a clinic, pays well but you need certification too. Bottom line is to get any job that pays okay and then work on your licensing exams or going back to school, etc etc. Please bear in mind that it may take you anywhere between 12-24 months to get licensed.... Thanks vcole would keep in touch when I do land. From my search on carms I believe its only 2 exams for residency. Mccee and NAC. I don't even mind starting off as a physician assistant just that I read for Ontario you ll need to attend a 2yr program before you are eligible for certification. |
Travel › Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Babachi: 11:01am On Jun 22, 2017 |
Gymme: Most foreign doctors start with 'care jobs' which is closer to their profession while they write their MCC exams. If you've got atleast 2 years of independent practice and written MCCEE, you 'may' get a job in BC. There is currently a program for that.
You could also apply to be a Clinical Trainee being supervised by a physician but NO PAY just the clinical experience which will give you upper hand over other candidates, say, you want to apply for residency. Alright thanks guys. Wud start preparing for the Mccee |

trishachi: Congrats to everyone that has got PPR and medical passed and IELTS aced.
in anticipation for the PPR, please I have a couple of questions for the ppl that hav got their PPR. Medical passed on May 25th Additional Doc required - Schedule A - May 25th Submitted -" May 30th
So my questions are:
Was there any notification for IP1 and IP2. or does that just happen on your profile and you have to check to see it? No notification
What address in Ghana do u send the passports to when u get PPR, I didn't see any address on the PPR letter ppl hav shared.Google the address of canada high commission Ghana. you can also use vhs services as the prices are relatively the same
How much did it cost to send the passports to Ghana via DHL.It was abt 19000 just to send. vhs is cheaper
What do they mean by "the passport photos should be stamped".? I had the name and address of the photo studio I used written at the back of the passport photo but there is no stamp. If the studio cant stamp you ll write the name and address of the studio
Pls advice. will appreciate a quick response considering one has just 15 days to submit. so we can be prepared for it. Thanks.

zaraman: 2014 till june 2017 is a long time.i have read of people who waited almost or over a year to get PPR after medicals under the 2014 fsw stream.some had to redo their medicals.
2014 fsw is processed differently from the new EE.
since we hardly have folks from the 2014 fsw on this thread comment on thier timeline, such recent information would have guided one in my position to make an informed decision.
A lot of people in 2014 fsw ,who couldnt wait ,had to submit a new application in EE in 2016 and most got their PPR within a month to 3months.
all am saying i do not have the luxury of time to wait another year to PPR under the 2014 fsw.
If there are 2014 applicant who got any update from cic this year, could you guys kindly share your timeline.
Had to do 4 ielts this year before i got a 9. you can check canadavisa forum. they have a thread for Nigerian applicants who applied in 2014 |

dupyshoo: Congrats to you and Babachi on your PPR!!!
Since you are sending it to Ghana, I will advise you use DHL instead as I heard VFS takes ages. This might have changed sha. The decision is yours to make. Find below details I found out on how to send your passport to Accra Office. Please note that there might be recent changes that I am not aware of.
For DHL, you will visit their office to send your passports and all other required documents to Accra Visa Office. They will not allow you to add pre-paid envelope (to return your passports and COPR back to you) for business operational reasons. What they will do is to have your docs delivered to Accra VO and once your passport is ready, Accra VO will send you an email that your passport is ready for collection. You will then visit their office and give them a copy of the email and possibly a consent letter to pick up the Passport from the VO on your behalf. You will need to pay additional money for the pick up. They will now help you to collect it from Accra and send it to your address or for pick up at DHL office.
For VFS, you will visit their office with all your documents and they will provide the details of how they will send it to you. You will be given an option to either pick up your passports from their office or to have it delivered to your home address. For VFS, you will be able to track it all the way through. They will send your passports to VO and help you to collect it back. I have read somewhere that it might take up to 1-2 months for you to receive your passports and COPR.
I think it takes about 2 weeks to a month for Accra VO to send back your COPR
Google IMM8 form to get the form or check this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM0008ENU_2D.pdf. complete the form online, print it and include it with your passport and photos. Please note that you need the latest Acrobat Reader to be able to view it and complete the form. The latest version was issued in March 2017.
With regard to photographs, why don't you go to a professional photographer? I believe you will be able to find one around you. thanks dupyshoo for that detailed explanation. funny thing is they didnt mention which visa office to submit the passport |

crystalmar: Congrats @Babachi.
Good morning house.
Please quick question.
I got an email to send my passport saying my visa is ready.
I am confused as to where to send the passport! Is it VSF Global in Lagos? If yes, how do I go about their fees. The fees page on their website seems a little complicated.
Furthermore, my family status has not changed yet the letter says I have to submit updated family information using form IMM8. Where do I get this form and should I fill it manually and attach to envelop containing my passport?
Lastly, the passport photograph requires a professional photograph with stamp and address. For this Naija so, in PHC precisely, were can one get such services. I usually used the normal road side guys but I give them the specifications and make sure they follow it to the latter.
Thanks for your kind responses and TGIF! Lol. U just got PPR too I dont think you need to send the IMM8 if your family hasnt changed Am sure any passport taken in a studio with the reqd specs will suffice |
