Felicity0001: True because with bolt your set destination expires the moment the trip ends but with Uber it continues till your must have arrived at your destination.
Talking about set destination.
I'm presently in VI with a rider with 3.0rating, I brought him here from Allen, Ikeja and he wants me to wait for about 2hrs and take him back because I made the ETA 15min earlier of whi I he was already late for a meeting.
Now, would I just wait for this man for 2hrs doing nothing? I suggested I hang around but he said he would pay me 1k per hr for waiting. So right now I'm kinda confused because 1. I've not collected miney for the trip yet 2. I've not made any reasonable amount of money since 7am that I left the house, just 3k since morning. 3. There's surge presently.
So I'm thinking if I set destination around this LGA if it will make sense I work b4 he's done.
Suggest guys.
Thanks
c.f.: izzuo, deedee, Vision2045, pope191, plus all my ogas If I were you, I’d wait. |

donfortune48: I set out from my house (off brown road surulere) around 5:30am aiming to clinch bolt's morning bonus. 1st 3trips that came in are over 10mins pick up time, while their destinations are showing as surulere. I rejected.
4th trip was going to Fadeyi, with 13mins pick up time. I decided to go cos I've rejected many. Called rider to tell him how long it'll take me to get to him, he said he can't wait and cancelled.
5th trip came with no destination, called rider and he was going to diamond estate isheri. Egbeda was my base before I relocated to surulere Feb, and I know how difficult it is to get ride to better places from their, coupled with the traffic, coming out of Egbeda in the morning. I decided to go offline. Told rider that I can only go for 3k. He agreed and we proceed.
Dropped him off in less than 40mins, turned on my app. 1st two trips that came in were going to abule-egba and somewhere after abule-egba respectively. I humbly declinned.
I went and packed close to good luck Jonathan estate.
8th trip came in, showing Ajeromi ifelodun as destination. I cancelled before it could ring half, but it came back again, I accepted. Called rider, he was going to satellite town. ...told him I can't go beyond alakija; he cancelled. The trip came back again, he cancelled. I turned off my app for 2mins, turn it on and it came back again, I cancelled. It came back again, he cancelled. It came back again, he cancelled. Turned off my app and started driving towards Gowon estate, half way towards Egbeda bus stop, I turned on my app again, same trip came in, he cancelled it came again like 3 times; he cancelled Before another one came in from Jemade estate to Lagos island.
Dropped off rider and took another trip to Ikoyi, then went home from there. That's how my morning was spoilt oh!
I'm in my room now cooling my mind, body and spirit wirh Vodka.
..."ll continue by 3pm. The bolded part is funny. Seems like you are the only driver around that area that’s why his request kept coming to you. I can see you only managed to complete 2/18 rides, |

IMO I think it’s the wrong business strategy to employ for someone who needs to pass information in a very limited time, viewers/subscribers need to look forward to your videos, it must be concise and straight to the point. |

igwedehxy: Will surely check it out Careful sir. Before you go about looking for what’s not missing, #5000 fuel is about 35 litres. MMA to Bodija is about 125km, Bodija to Ojota is about 132km. Ojota to Ikorodu around 18km....do the maths. Factor in traffic and AC. |

Felicity0001: It is what It is. I've warn us about using the ikoyi link bridge b4 and how using the etag or any of the toll gates don't count, reason I stopped using that link bridge and using my tag as well because you won't be issued a receipt.
Dont be disappointed with the response from uber it's a normal thing and due process to take.
You don't expect your office to pay for any expenses that has no receipt.
Another thing is, the lekki-epe toll gate charges N230 or there about while the Ikoyi link toll charges N335 or so where as the rider pays N200 and N300 respectively. Meaning you're looking 2-3 toll pass in every N5000 recharge you do.
What then is the need for using an etag or ecard when one is paying commission from his pocket. Wrong! Let’s get our facts right please. E-Tag at Admiralty Circle plaza is 180, at Ikoyi Link Bridge is 270.

igwedehxy: Bro I wanted to pick up people on the road o but something happened. I parked to pick up 3 elderly men who flagged me that they were going to Lagos. Turned out those guys were their union leaders who were agitated that private cars should stop picking people. they almost held me bound sef. Until I told them i am a Health worker with my Covid pass . I later gave them 200naira to buy gin they started giving advice on how people picked up armed robbers on the road. I should be careful bla bla bla . I just vex blow my off comot jare. to avoid stories that touch Understandable. One more question: where in Ibadan did you take the rider to? |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Babadee1900(m): 10:16pm On Jul 17, 2020 |
igwedehxy: So I staryed my day off at MM2 airport as directed by uber, paid toll #200 and parking #750. While waiting, a trip came in, I accepted, Rider said she is in Abuja but she is requesting for her business partner who is on his was to Lagos.
She asked if Uber goes to Ibadan. I said yes. I thought of it, doing an online trip won't pay me. So I negotiated offline and later agreed 15k. I waited for another hour before my rider's flight arrived. Unfortunately I was at the wrong place. Had to drive back to MM1 domestic wing and kept going round in circle so as to avoid those guys that toll vehicles. I eventually opted to use their car park #400 (so I can better search for my rider). I eventually found him 6secs after parking.
Spent 3k fueling my car on my way to Ibadan. I had to fuel 2k on my way back to Lagos (blew empty).
Now let's do the math.
750+200+200+400+3000+2,500 = #7,050
15,000 - 7,050=# 7,950
I cried when I did this calculation. I suffered today sha. Bolded part.......WHY? |

Maintenance is key, #400 Trip no fix break the car it will do it again and again and again and again. If he like make he return the car, body go tell am. Agreed the fares are low but at all at all, we they pay our bills. What’s even special about a 2009 Corolla sef? The car is clean, so what? Which brand is the best to buy? For those that have it. You are nice. I don’t allow riders connect to my car Bluetooth except I don profile you say you suppose get sense. Rider: Oga do you have Bluetooth? Me: No Rider: Not even AUX cable? I took the below screenshot for you. I am not sure if I’ve ever used client asked to cancel. It’s either ‘did not show or phone number is unavailable’ Times when I don’t want to waste five minutes of my time waiting on a trip I know I want to cancel, I accept, slide arriving now, wait for one minute and select ‘client no unavailable’. No time. Just do whatever you need to do to keep your account active, if you loose it and go to UBER, you will not last a week there, no vex.
