Please guys lets take it easy on @felicity. We learn everyday.
We take some decisions in a matter of seconds out of annoyance. Like me now, due to the fact that I'm in the comfort of my home, I can reason it well and I have decided that if I found my self in that position, I will just ask one of them to sit in the front or I will drop them off at the nearest bus stop.

Some riders can even penetrate under your elephant skin. Na so one enter my car the other day, the first thing wey come out from him mouth nah, "Hope this your car charger is fast because my battery is very low" I bin wan parra, but I just hold myself and did not even answer him.
If we as drivers decides to move mad every time a rider provokes us or talks anyhow, it’s not going to end well.

Last Thursday I got a request around Brassas place at admiralty. When I got there, I placed a call through to him to inform him of my arrival.

Me: Hello.......with the usual talk.

Him: .........what car are you driving and the color

Me: Honda Accord, Silver.

Him: Haa Honda keee that use to.....

Me: I dropped the call before he could complete whatever he was about to say.

When He came, he sat in the front. Brothers the first thing this man said was increase the ac, then went on rambling that he would have canceled the ride if he had noticed earlier that I had a Honda, there AC is useless, anytime he sees Honda car he sees nothing but bad luck, and he kept on talking, I did not even know whether to scream, tell him to shut up, tell him to geddifok.. This is someone I thought had sense, a man in his forties.

I just ignored him, he wanted to turn it into a conversation which was very annoying to me.

I put the AC in AUTO and continued driving totally ignoring him. When he saw that I wasn’t interested in whatever he has to say, he kept quiet. The same man that was shouting AC this Ac that had to close the vents on his side before we got to his destination.

Sometimes one just have to look from these riders and their madness.

Last Friday I ask 2riders out if my car.

Picked these two, I really dint know weather to call them couple or bf n gf but from d look they're married couple. From Farm city admiralty way lekki heading to ojodu... To cut it short.

Along Osborn way I started hearing noises if kisses and smutches from behind...shuu!!! Inside my carhuh I called them to order... On the 3rd mainland bridge they started again and this time it was even louder. Me! What nonsense! I just pulled over, unlocked my doors, opened my butt.

Me: Please get down of my car since you guys can behave yourselves like the adult that you're.
The guy was trying to apologies.
The stupid woman was trying to claim right by saying some words because she made the req on bolt...i just ignored her
Me: I said get down!!! This time with a more loud voice.
Rider: how do you expect us to get a ride by this time... Please na bro...
Me: I careless, get down!
I went straight to my butt while trying to pull out my wheel spiner as they hear me doing that na so them rush out thinking maybe I'm bringing a cutlass or something.

Seeing they've highlighted I just entered my car, locked goes then zoomed.

Stupid taxify riders inside this corona one nine era. That you're paying for a rider doesn't mean you should mess up my ride which is my holy temple that I depend on to feed my family.

Useless things.
Bros try as much as possible to handle situation like this professionally and maturely. What you did to them is totally wrong.

The guy even reasoned with you, you should have just ignored the girl and drive them to safety.

If I was your rider, there’s no way you are dropping me and my girl there, can never happen. We go wrestle am out man to man. Aje!

5% Commission or 5% Commission bonus?

Have you observed after meeting up with the trip requirement to activate the commission, your subsequent trips gets bonus that would be added to your earnings.
What does that bonus mean to you?

This people are scamming us with confused grammar.

Literally, what they mean with 5% commission bonus is, you get 5% commission on every trip fare you embark which to be added to your earnings while they remove their own normal 20% commission so meaning you are paying 15% commission on your trips after meeting up with their requirements....

If you are doubting, try to do calculations when you hit the number of trips required to activate it then note your 1st subsequent trip after meeting up and calculate 5% of that trip, you will notice its that amount that is added as bonus to your earnings and also calculate the 20% of that same trip and you will notice the 20% is what is added to their outstanding commission....
huh

I'm still trying to figure out why drivers still prefer driving with bolt even when they have an active uber account.
Driving on Bolt is flexible, yes their App is annoying but it’s still the best platform to drive on in Lagos imho.

Uber is trying to maintain international standards, they have forgotten that this is Nigeria where there are no good roads, safety and security of life is almost zero.

On bolt I can cancel at will. On Uber it’s a different ball game entirely.

I am trying everything possible to stay out of trouble, so in other to achieve this I decided to stop driving on the Mainland. (It’s like they have their head wired differently there) I only take trip to the Airport, immediately I drop the rider I’m setting destination back to Island whether I get a trip or not I’m less concerned, I’m driving straight to VI or Ikoyi to continue my work.

I’m very sure if I drive on Uber, I won’t last two weeks before they booth me out tongue

Two more trips to complete, and I’ll be on 5% commission.

The husband is filled with wisdom to b able to handle his wife with easy words. Once riders keep telling me, join dis lane, join that lane, I don't stress myself to switch lane again on my discretion, I just let him or her take the wheel, I won't use my discretion again. I noticed, at a point they get tired of d whole tin.
I don’t answer them. Since you are not the one driving you can’t tell me on which lane to drive on.

One man last year, I picked him from Admiralty heading towards Cooperative villa Badore, the moment I joined Lekki-Epe exp from freedom way, Baba started saying join this lane join that lane. Stay on the left, why are you in the middle. You are too slow.

I got tired of his talk. Before I gave him a piece of my mind I turned off the radio first so that he can me hear me very well because I don they vex already.

I said, Sir I am the one driving, I am in control here, I know when to switch lanes and when to drive fast. You are sitting at the back so you don’t have access to the information I currently have driving this car. There are three different mirrors that’s guiding my decision on when to go left or right.

The man said but ‘but I drive too’.

Told him yes I know you do sir, more reason why you should understand that there’s little you can do when you are not the one driving.

Baba just kept quiet.

....and it was on a Sunday morning, road was free, I just balance well for my seat come begin they drive am like I they race track. I they look am from the rear mirror, he just low key they read newspaper.

When we got to Cooperative villa, he said don’t end the trip, give me 5 minutes I’ll be out so we can proceed to Ikoyi church of assumption.

He came out in time. When he entered he said pls can you go faster this time around I’m running late for service.

Me that I’ve been looking for opportunity to fire my car as I don they get bored of this slow driving. I use the man refresh my skills grin

Bros a good number of these riders don’t know how the Client app works. That’s why they will keep asking for what car you are driving, your name etc.

Some riders don’t know that they can update destination from their own end.

I picked a girl from Megamound Avenue on a 2.1 surge to northwest filling station vgc, I knew it was a round trip because she was going to get diesel.

As we were approaching vgc she said if you end trip will I still be able to get you if I request again so that you can take me back.

I told her I don’t have to end the trip, she can just change the destination from her phone, she was surprised, I showed her how it’s done and she thanked me.

Another one this night at silverbird VI, took her and her friend to marina, when we got there she said I should end trip because her friend is stopping at the marina address that she’s going to book me again so I can take her to her house (Ikoyi).

I still taught her how to do it. She told me that she doesn’t know it’s possible even her elder sister use to end trip and request again.

Moat of these girls can be so annoying.

Got a uber req few minutes back somewhere around jibowu yaba area. Drove down to PU. Placed a call through rider since she's not reading her app message.

Rider: where r u
Me: Im outside
Rider: ok I'm coming out.

She called back after about 2min.
Rider: where r u na I can't see you, didn't you use you map.
Me: I've been here since, ok look your left and to ghost ht if you can see me my hazard light is on now.
Rider: I can't see still, you map is supposed to bring you to No 31 na aee you sure you're here?
Me: No number on your req just your street name or isn't it shoyinka street?
Yes she affirmed.
Rider: ok ask someone of No31 or ahould I cancel?

Me in my mind I just smile, b like dis one no mnow say her 5min grace don ellaps abi she think say na bolt?.

I started my engine, asked some guys around even though I hate doing that. They directed me. Turned and on my hazard light than called her this time.

She hugged her bf then opens the back door and entered.

Rider: you just arrived self and you said you've been here.

Me: what do you mean?
Rider:...still talking
Me: do you want to continue on this ride?
Rider: I should cancel?
Me: i wouldnt mind:
Rider: then you'll give me my N400

At this time her bf then came in,
Whats happening any issue?
Gf: ahe said he wants to cancel, but he will give me my N400.

As they where discussing me don cancel already.
Me: you can come down now, I just canceled.

The bf resounded it to her, he has cancel.

They closed my door I just zoomed off.

I no get time for bad riders that will end up rating me low at all it better I cancel.

Rubbish things
You could have handled this better though but I understand that some of these girls can be annoying and need schooling when necessary.

I usually find it annoying when I call a rider to confirm pick up address and they tell me ‘oga use your map’. I do not have any issue using my map but 5/10 of these times it’s always wrong. I don’t understand why there will be five estates inside ONE estate...like wtf!

So on Sunday I was on freedom way cruising when I got a request. Rider address was showing Idado Street, which means I have to go through the Idado market to get to her but my mind told me it’s not right. Correct location is inside the Idado Estate.

Just to confirm I called her, asked if it’s Idado Street, that will I pass through the mfm church, next thing I heard was oga use your map. sad

I followed Bolts navigation through the market then I saw plenty water. Had to call her again to tell her I have followed the map and I am in the market, she was now saying No No No you shouldn’t have passed through the market yen yen yen.

Well I found my way back to the right place.

Got to her place, she was already waiting outside, I didn’t waste time before I start the trip. After all I’m all about the money.

.....same girl that was forming for me on phone now told me to make sure I save her number and she’s hoping that I’m not one of those guys that used to form loyal boyfriend oooo. I just laughed and continued moving Lagos tongue

No. I changed the fuel pump to a Tokunbo one. Before you start spending on the car, let your mechanic carry out a fuel pressure test. I got same code as yours when I scanned. Bought a replacement CKP sensor, code went away but symptoms still persist.

That thing really worry me through out December last year. I didn’t get a fix until second week of January

My Honda civic 03 trips off most times while on motion, sometimes before it goes off the car will jerk and then goes off or it won't go off but the next thing engine check light check light comes on. This happens like 2-3 times daily.

Some times when I switch off the engine maybe on traffic engine does hard start before it starts.

I carried out a scan on the car and the code within came up.

Changed the camshaft sensor but this code keeps coming up
Bros this issue you are currently experiencing was my nightmare last year December. I don even they reason to change the engine before I found a solution.

Fuel Pump! I bought fuel pump (new) twice on this issue, changed CKP sensor, still no solution.

Fix: Toks Fuel pump complete Assy

I will have to park and wait till 4/5pm before I continue working. Those times een I they avoid traffic like anything.

too many cancellations bro
Let me give you a tip on how to avoid getting blocked due to too many cancellations.

At the end of every working day, check your activity score before you close for the day. If you see that you have exceeded 48% of cancellations, do this: stay online, accept any trip that enters, turn off network for the phone number your rider will call, slide on arriving now and wait. Some riders will cancel but if the rider did not cancel wait for 5 minutes then cancel.

If you want it to be faster, increase your radar/coverage to 20km. Sometimes I will be on my bed in Ajah and accept requests from Ikorodu

The screenshot below is from this evening, my cancellation rate was at 56% when I closed. I have balanced it! cool

P.s Do this at your own discretion

Hi guys hope your week is starting in a good note.

Guys how do you handle riders who always want to eat in the car, I'm finding it very difficult to handle most riders in this. Most of them feel it's normal to eat in the car and most say I'm the first uber driver to call their attention on that.

One among the 3guys I carried last night around 2am says "after all its my right, I'm paying so I can do anything I like..." I just ended trip then asked them to come down of my vehicle, "i wont pay you".
Me: no problem about that
"I'll rate you low"
Me: i dont give a Bleep about rating. please come down I've close for the day this is a destination trip thats y I on my bolt app.

Las las his other friend who was cool headed was now trying to calm the situation and was begging I drop them. They knew it will be diffixult for them to get a ride home they now calm down. Yet the most stubborn one among them still did eat quietly behind.

I need clue in how beat to handle such riders please.
....because I don’t have time for argument. Below is what I show them. Chloe of BBnaija once tried the “you are the first driver to tell me not to eat” line with me. She called me all sorts of name that day but I don’t care, I ended the trip at toll gate. No time!

Let’s be careful and security conscious when driving at night.

Few minutes ago I was coming from Lamgbasa, as I was approaching the roundabout very close the UBA bank, I sighted a guy from afar standing on the road at my side of the lane, I was driving at a cruising speed with windows down, initially I thought he wanted to cross the road so I didn’t increase my speed. The moment I got close to he jumped into the front my car shouting park x3, immediately I floored the accelerator and swerved away from him and didn’t stop, I saw two other guys come out from the UBA side through the side mirror.

Whatever their intentions is, I know it is not a good one.

Meanwhile I saw this accident around Thomas Estate. Drive carefully, don’t fall asleep behind the wheels. If you can’t control your speed make use of the cruise control.

God no go shame us.
