TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by BabaIbada: 9:03am On Jun 01, 2010
@temmym3,
I found out from a friend who travelled to the UK as a student in January that the UKBA doesnt really bother about the source of the money in your account like it used to be in the past. All u need do is to ensure that the money span 28 dayz in ur personal account and have all ur documents genuine and ready. So entertain no fear about ur Dad's friend depositing money into ur account. I hope this helps a bit.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by BabaIbada: 10:52am On May 30, 2010
@justwise and nat138
Thanks for ur responses but "unfortunately" my certificates are all laminated and I'm not sure they will not get torn if i attempt to cut the lamination, so I'm a bit confused on this.
Secondly, I have only my First Degree Certificate stated on my CAS letter as the educational document required, can I still submit my O level cert too though not included. Thanks.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by BabaIbada: 12:42am On May 30, 2010
@ justwise,
Pls I need some clarification on Laminated Certicificate, is it applicabe to Birth Certificate alone or other certificates especially Degree and O level Certificate?
Secondly, my brother is the one to deposit the money I need for my studies into my account but due to the fact that he dosnot like moving huge some of money about, he has been transferring the money online from his acct to mine but based on his bank online system he can only transfer 400k per day with a maximum of 200k at a go. Do u think this will not raise any question or suspicion? Lastly, do I need to show my Birth certficate eventhough I'm not being sponsored by my parents. Waiting to read from u. God Bless
TravelRe: Urgent by BabaIbada: 12:08am On May 30, 2010
@Poster,
I understand how u feel but u should have taken it easy a bit. Well, I can say ur case is a replica of mine but my own sponsor bears the same name wif me and the money is right in my account. I've taken my time to explore various threads on UK Students Visa and I can tell u that if u had done the same, your fear would have been adequately wipped off. Based on my fidings, the current Point Based System being used for UK students Visa doesnt really bother about the source of the money but the completeness of the money (Your tution fee + Maintenance fee) and the whole money being in ur account for a minimum of 28 days.
The source of the money is immaterial, however your sponsor can still write letter regardless of the fact that you both bear differnt names. REMEMBER, the money must be complete and be in ur own personal account for a minimum period of 28 dayz. Explore the thread titled "UK VISA
; Ur QUESTIONED ANSWERED posted by Ell77) U'll get all the gist if u're patient enough to read through all the 18 pages. Be rest assured that u're on ur way to the UK so far u have the money in ur account and have all d document (s) indicated on ur CAS Letter intact. May God see u through. Drop a word of thanks not for me but for the likes of Ell77, Justwise, Sienna, The fellows are surely exceptional and will continue to receive exceptional blessings from the GOD Almighty.
TravelRe: Help! by BabaIbada: 12:58am On May 27, 2010
I would have outrightly asked you to shun oversea master degree program and opt for business as ur sister advised, but I'm not sure the business stuff would be a good idea considering the ups and downs of the Nigerian economy, the risks of robbery, fire outbreak and insincerity of the people we transact business with make setting up business a very difficult decision in Nigeria of today. A business of 5 million Naira will only thrive for a while but may collapse at the least expected time.
So my dear, go for the MSC program, this might afford u a lot of opportunities u may never have thought about, besides, u might just be so fortunate out there while there may be thousands suffering! Remember your sponsor's preference is M.Sc, who knows how God can still use him to do sth greater in ur life after u might have completed this first stage. Above all pray to God for guidance and think deeply about my view cos I wrote this reply immediately I finished praying! May God guide u aright my dear.

@akinses;
thanx for ur response, i thought of that idea of depositing the money in my dad's account but the dilema i'd face in explaining the source of the money will be the same for my dad too. I'm sure my account will be fatter than his ordinarily and besides he may not be able to convince the ukba that he's capable of financing me because the old man having tried in the past without education now depends on what chidren send across. In a nutshell i dont think my parents can adequately handle this even if i choose to drop the money into there account, I'd appericiate futher advice.
TravelUk Student Visa Application 2010 by BabaIbada(op): 11:35pm On May 26, 2010
Hello Nairalanders, pls I need some clarification on this issue:

I'm planning to apply for UK Student Visa next month having received my CAS from my school in the UK. Actually, I'm being sponsored by a blood brother who is a senior staff in Multinational Oil Comapany but owing to the fact that I can only use my account statement or that of my parents, he (My Brother) has deposited the money needed to cover my tution fee and all other expenses (about 4M) into my account. My worries are as follows:

1. My account is such a slim one that I the highest some of money ever paid into account is 100k and even as at the time the 4Million was deposited my balance stood at 59k. Can this not create some suspicion. Besides, how do I explain the source of the sudden "big deposit" in my account, then what role do u think my brother can play on this?

2. I finished my NYSC last year March (1yr 2mths ago) and since then I have been managing in a firm which pays me less than 40k a month. Even the arrangement in my place of work is so informal that I receive my Salary by hand with a hand written pay-slip (though with some printed format). In a nutshell I dont think I can say I've been in full time employment since I completed my NYSC cos I may not be able to produce convincing documents. So what do u suggest I do?

Plssss kindly give me your candid advice cos I have no doubt that your views here will help me cross this challenging stage with God on my side. Thanks

PoliticsTribute To The Late President by BabaIbada(op): 1:42am On May 06, 2010
Life is such a short adventure though full of events. For Mr Yar'adua, the end came rather untimely. Without mincing words, you made ur own landmarks, ur footpath will forever linger in the book of history, in spite of the series of controversies that surround ur purpoted and eventual death, I am of the opinion that u were a hero and now that u're gone, u'll be greatly missed by those who know the beauty of life and the agony of death, those who know ur real intention of transforming Nigeria, those who are aware that a poluted and corrupt political system takes time to be transformed, those who know the pains of a mother knowing the death day of his beloved son, those who know that someday day will also breath their last. As for those who are jubilant that u're gone, I tell them on ur behalf that a yet to be completed journey holds much greater danger.
My heart bleeds that u're gone sad, not for any special favour i received from ur excellency but for remembering that one day I too will leave all my achievements in life behind and embark on a lonely journey u just began. Rest in the bossom of Almighty Allah Umaru, ur life was indeed eventful and exemplary, may Allah have mercy on you!!!

PoliticsRe: Olubadan Denies Akala by BabaIbada: 10:44pm On May 04, 2010
Only a self-centered, narrow-minded, ignorant, and uncivilized fool will support Akala's second term bid. Even the so called top politicians in Oyo State who express their support for the cow (AKALA) are not only anti-masses but also greedy and myopic for doing so. The religious leaders who support AKA-OLEEEEE are agents of satan who should be rejected totally if the sanctity of religion they claim to represent will be preserved.
I repeat! only a fellow who is either out of his/her mind or who stands to reap a selfish benefit will wish AKA-WEREEEEE a second term return. You can prove me wrong by SINCERELY POINTING TO HIS ACHEIVEMENT vis-a-vis the well being of the entire people of Oyo State. angry

PoliticsRe: Religious Battle Looms In Ibadan by BabaIbada: 1:33am On Mar 10, 2010
well, I think we've got to be reasonable in the manner we post our views on this issue. Religion has always been a sensitive issue across the globe from a time immemorial therefore at this age we really need to be more tolerant and eschew any act that may ignite religious crisis. HOW ON EARTH WILL A CHRISTIAN DRAMA BE TITLED ALFA SULE? Without prejudice Sule (the short way of pronouncing Sulaiman) is an undiluted muslim name and besides Alfa Sule literary means Mallam Sule (which doesnt have any connection with christianity). There is a scene  in the drama where Angel Fatai was ridiculously mentioned too. Though Angel is an English word, Fatai (Abdul Fatai) is a pure muslim Name.
I so much appreciate the level of creativity displayed in the drama but the producer should have strictly limited himself to terms or names related to christians and ensured that  no attempt was made to ridicule any names especially those of other religion.
If the act of making use of Islamic terms derogatorily is not a delibrate attempt at causing religious conflict, the producer of Alfa Sule should publicly apologise to the muslims by creatively showing them that he meant no harm and make ammends where necessary afterall the producer of a Yoruba Film initially titled "Amina Eleha" had to change the title to AFOMO having realised the religious implication of the film's title. I strongly believe that this will bring a perpetual end to the rift and religious crisis will be totally avoided. Let's dont always cast blames on muslims cos if given chance they will give lucid explanations and justifications to their actions which every unbiased soul will uphold and respect.
Finally, let us always use our posts here to shed reasonable lights on issue based on unbiased opinion. This will show the world how resourceful we are in Nigeria in the area of conflict management and societal re-engineering. I RISE!

This is yet another national disaster. WALATA may not be wrong cos there a very many common nigerians who die untimely on daily basis courtsey of lackadisical attitude of our government. Nigeria is a perfect replica of Hobbesian state of nature where live is brutal, nasty, solitary and short. Rest in peace the departed naval officers and every other nigerian who has lost his soul.

This is terribbly unfortunate. The likes of Tinubu, Ladoja, Aregbeshola, and even Fashola should be much more careful cos they may be on the list too because of their political weight. I repeat, Ladoja should be careful of Akala and PDP at large. Dipo Dina (RIP)! lipsrsealed

I'm sure you are not in your right sense or perhaps some1 has already decreed that u'll meet your waterloo somwhere. Okay have this: You shall remain as u're for few months before your condition will gradually get deteriorated until you realise that Yoruba deserves no insult from a tribeless soul like you. Not even TB Joshua will heal you when your doom time comes, so Oduduwa asks me to tell you to WHATCH OUT SOONEST.

Yeah, but issues of ethnic concern can be better addressed than insulting one ethnic group or the other. This forum is viewed all over the world and we've got to be careful and mindful of our remarks on various ethic groups that make up nigeria (at least for the time being, ). As for willy*willy, he's got what he deserves and Olodumare has nodded in affirmative lipsrsealed

@willy*willy,
U must be the greatest of fools for your remark about Yoruba. Apart from being an idiot u've demonstrated to the whole nairalanders and the entire world how backward you are in thinking or could you tell me how the issue at stake warrants raining curse on the Yoruba Race? Well let me give u this blessing, you shall remain jobless as you are and lose the one you have got (if any) unless you publicly apologise for your stinking remark. Then it is never compulsory to reply to any posted issue considering your feeble-mindedness and backward thinking. You are a disgrace to ur race, ur educational institution(if any) and indeed the worst soul ever given birth to in Nigeria. Woe unto you Willy*Willy

I met her on phone mistakenly and we dated without sighting each other for 3 years until I saw her late last year (2009). I have a long time relationship with another babe which may lead to marriage but this my "phone girl" strongly believes I will lead her to the alter too. Since we saw each other she has always been trying to satisfy me including trying to force money on me and looking for job for me.
1. She is not my tribe but from my country
2. She is as pretty as my real babe
3. She hasnt disclosed her age to me but she appears as old as I am if not older,
4. She is not educated (unlike my real babe) but she speaks impeccable English
5. She threatens to commit suicide if I tell her it's over.
Pls what do I do?
