LaudableXX: Go back and read my post again with an open mind. Out of all the areas I mentioned, you decided to focus on Abule-Egba and you chose to compare it with Suleja. Is Abule-Egba the only area in Lagos? What about the rent in Badagry, Ijegun, Ketu, Okokomaiko, Lakowe and Epe? Or are those areas not part of Lagos? Oga, you people should stop comparing apples with oranges..... I mentioned abule egba because you used it in your comparison... Mr man, house rent in lakowe, badagry, ketu, okokomaiko etc are higher than that of suleja... You shouldn't have compared both at the first place. if you read my post with open mind, you will see where u said generally house rent is higher in Lagos than Niger state |
Travel › Re: The Cost Of Living In Suleja Vs That Of Lagos by BabaIbo: 8:13pm On Aug 19, 2018 |
LaudableXX: It depends on what part of Lagos, you are referring to. Lagos is a sprawling metropolis with 20 local governments, that stretches from Badagry, to Ikorodu, Shomolu, Ajao Estate, Maryland, Lekki, Itire Ikate, Kosofe, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ifelodun, Igando/Ikotun, to Surulere, Yaba, Ikeja, Magodo, Ogba, Agege, etc. So what part of Lagos, are you comparing with Suleja? Rents across these different districts in Lagos, are as different as night and day. Or do you want to compare the rent in Ikoyi to what is paid in Abule-egba? Mr man, Abule Egba rent will be more than that of Suleja... If you doubt it, check the rent price on Google for both towns and compare it, again the cost of living in Lagos is generally higher than that of suleja even that of Niger state as a whole |

bennynaza: Washington was an army general who was selected to lead the country after the war of independence. Since the Americans came from Britain, they offered to make him king. He refused and chose the title of president. America has never had a king and have never practiced monarchy. Dont distort history to back up ur wrong argument. You need education, I wish I can enlighten you but I have things to do. Is he the one that created America? No. probably he fought for their independence, so we should clear their history before independent right? Go and read about monarchies in America, Mr man. Check Barbados and other American colonies too. BTW I mentioned America like Nigeria because Nigeria never had a king that ruled it, we only had sectional or regional kings unlike UK and some other countries that have been led by kings and queen |

Politics › Re: Ganduje Conferred With Chieftaincy in Abia- Lion That Protect Igbo People (Pics) by BabaIbo: 10:42pm On Aug 17, 2018 |
bennynaza: why mention usa. Does the US have monarchs? In Nigeria, is it the governor that crowns the Obi of Onitsha? Is it the governor that crowns the Ooni of Ife, the Olubadan of Ibadan, the Emir of Kano, the sultan of sokoto etc? The traditional system has been in place long before Nigeria became a country, let alone start having governors. Yes America have/had monarchies. Go and read the history of America before Washington, Washington was a supporter of equality and that is why he didn't accept the offer of being a king, rather he chose to be a president. Again, no you are the one that present staff of office to the kings, including all the kings you mention their, check the meaning of staff of office and check who present it. Tradition has been in place long before Nigeria became a country but the fact is presently who is more powerful? Remember one or some of those you listed above have been remove at a point in time in history, check well |
Politics › Re: Ganduje Conferred With Chieftaincy in Abia- Lion That Protect Igbo People (Pics) by BabaIbo: 4:39pm On Aug 17, 2018 |
bennynaza: That is not the way it should be. Tradition has been existing long before secular govt was introduced. Govt authority must be separate from Traditional authority. Even the white men that brought secular govt to us still respect their thrones. The Prime Minister of Britain still bows and kisses the ring of the Queen of England. That's not the case here in Nigeria. what about U.S.A system? This is Nigeria not UK, here the governor is the one who gives the king his staff of office and that alone places the governor above the king |

bennynaza: I am from Mbaitoli in IMO state. And if you are truly grounded in the affairs of the state, you will understand why I mentioned Imo. The current Chieftancy saga in Mbaise, if you know what its about, should be ur case study.
Or did u not hear of the time a mere governor of Imo threatened to unseat "traditional rulers" if they dont collect taxes for him
My ward alone has 5 autonomous communities and "eze's". The whole of onitsha has just one, who is subsequently recognized globally and nationally and you tell me that we Imo and our Abia brothers dont make mockery of our traditional system. Mere governor? Even though I dont support that threat issue but you're wrong with that, in a state a governor is the most powerful according to Nigeria's type of government, it's everywhere, in Nigeria's type of government, the kings are on the payroll of the government, so such thing is bound to happen (power tussle), if you check well it has happened in every state at a point in time. Let me help with a similar case, go and read about Oyo state government and Olubadan saga. Moreover that is a different case entirely from this one or are they the same? |
