I like the way Nigeria is being rejected on global rankings, its only a sign of greater things to come It makes us eat the humble pie and work harder.,Nigeria is a rough diamond country.only those who know will know
Power generation is such a good business to go into. The government stole $16 Billion for darkness.
Meanwhile a group of traders in say Alaba could pool $16 Million Dollars Easy and provide 25 MegaWatts of power. Whats wrong with that?! Have private groups create electricity or wait for our thieving idiot leaders?
Only small countries with populations of 1million,2million , even 5million should be dependent on government for electricity.
Countries with populations of 10 million , 25 million ,50 Million , 100 million , 200 million should not be waiting on government for electricity.
They do that to a small extent by providing power through big generators that everyone uses they do not power plants as it's a market not a manufacturing hub,
Very,PDP wasted lots of resources and set Nigeria on the corrupt path that it took, obasanjo, yaradua,Jonathan were all big failures, they should be stoned to death instead these useless hungry youths praise them
Blackmiserable: Excuse me sir, it is no honor for an adult to be in baby's clothes anymore than it is to lag in any aspects among your peers. Sons of the same mother, Eve, your White mates are advancing in the sciences, circumnavigating the earth, travelling to space, advancing in medicine, trying to make the world a better place not just for themselves but for everyone as a whole, but are talking of the rising of the black race in the 21st century. For how long do we delude ourselves with baseless hopes? Did we somehow come into existence just recently? If you lag behind among your peers, isn't that enough reasons to be introspective? The black man cannot point to one thing that gives him an edge over his peers except voodoo, witchcraft, chronic corruption, vice and more vice. No black nation has or can hold an organized society, not even in Carribean black nations?
And the painful thing is that you don't seem to see that your optimism instead of being honest to yourself and reason is actually pretty useless.
It is highly debatable about China's development in 1927. Are Chinese whites? In a sense yes a
Oga,there are many and myriad reasons why Africa lacked behind, there are organized black countries, keep letting the media/YouTube into deceiving you that there are no organized black countries, what do you even mean by organised? Black societies are picking up,it doesn't take so long to scale into a developed society,Nigeria can scale into first world status in 10years with just the right leader, the black race will rise,we are not cursed, blacks will also contribute to worlds development yes we aren't there yet but will get there, contribute your own quota to make the black race better, instead of cursing the black race.
This nigerians that post these things are bastards, get out of Nigeria go and live in your fucking London, keep comparing yourselves to the whites like fools, how was China in the same 1927 and now, civilation is a gradual process some get in first come later,Africa will rise the black man will rise,if you like keep thinking you under a curse, when Africa rises black traitors like you will be killed.fools
You are very much on top of the issue. However, I must say you are too academic with the facts. The unalloyed and elementary aspect of the entire African issue remains that most Africans are perfidiously naive, sentimental to a fault and intellectually lazy. Most Africans are only group who had god formal education yet believed on the craps of yesteryears and could bet their lives on the junk without finding what actually is the fact. Have Africans ever challenge the stupid idea of equating ‘Black” to Africa? For better part, Africans cannot think for themselves. How can a group of people who cannot possibly thought-out a nice way to commit suicide engage in “Organized Capitalism”? These are junks who do not know when they have been used as token granted their tribe’s members were used for the gamble.
The way people on nairaland mock Africans is just amazingly shocking, which type of Africans do you people relate with, you just make sick blanket statements about Africans,Africa is a growing continent,we were essentially the last race to be civilized so it might take us longer to get to glory, but I see it coming faster than expected,Africans are not all entirely poor ,the problem of poverty in Africa is that the poor out breeds the average and rich, which fuels the perceived poverty of Africa
They have been doing that for ages now,the thing is that people don't care, for whatever reason people don't care, for southern nigerians anything that doesn't bring money into their pockets directly they do not care about
I think because the Fulani herdsmen mostly attack remote villages were the poorest of the poor are, there's no economic incentive to fight the herdsmen, southern Nigerians mostly only fight for economic incentives,
MrBrownJay1: lol bro, its not their fault.... they have never left Nigeria but will be quick to believe that everywhere that isnt the US/EUROPE etc is as bad as Nigeria. SK has been one of the fastest rising economy and developped nation of this world.... and is top 12 economy in the world by GDP, well ahead of countries like Spain, Australia etc
Probably the person wanted to mention north Korea actually
I suspected something like this,I once watched on aljazeera news how some Africans were crossing to the us via from Africa via Brazil on local boats. It was a strange news,I then thought that probably the distance BTW Africa and the south American continent might not be has far as portrayed in contemporary geography
The op is saying bull crap,h e probably not based in Africa given the what he wrote,he is not on ground here to see things for himself,he is saying Africans don't build private stuff for the selves what a joke,in Nigeria everything functioning is private built,no government institution is functioning, there are a lot of private hospitals millions spread across the country, lots of private schools, private farms,in fact everything is private, what about the private dangote refinery, the op doesn't know Africa at all especially Nigeria,
Wow,I know about this road, this road a been in such a deplorable condition for over 20years now,no government presence at all the the area, even though many people live there including quite a number of big business men.The area is totally neglected, they were building the abuleoshun end in 2017 under ambode but they later abandoned it even though it reached about 80% completion, they wasted funds almost completing one end of the road, now that same end is even worse than before,I swear Lagos is absolutely corrupt, the Yoruba people are terribly greedy and corrupt, they can't even develop their own region but they will claim they are the owners of Lagos,is it these mess they are proud of?the yoruba people are enslaved by their own leaders, mind you I am yoruba
All other tribes/ethnic groups in the north, including Hausas have been subdued by these Fulanis
Any sign of resistance results in the massacres you see from time to time in certain communities in the North (for those you hear of in the news)
The Southern part of Nigeria, as one, would be a force to reckon with, a unifying entity and hope for hundreds of minority tribes in the North. But seeds of discord have been planted with manipulations (politically) for over generations while they penetrate and plant themselves in key positions and positions of authority within the South.
If you go through history, you would notice certain parts of the South (eg South East) may appear favored by or in agreement with the Fulanis over other parts. Over time, the scheme changes pattern to favor the other major part eg the South West as we see today, with the Easterners regarded as the 5%ers.
In the next few years, there would be a change of pattern.
There are already attempts to take over traditional institutions in the South. Do you think the recurrent attacks you hear of in remote communities are really because of cows? Why are the village/community heads and their families wiped out in such attacks?
the fulani do not have two heads, pay them with the violence they pay you, that is the only language they understand, the hausas are paying for their cowardice, the hausa people also betray the south, they do not align with the south, they love the fulanis no matter what the fulanis do to them, they do not want to reach out to the south,so let them continue paying for their cowardice in servitude
BigBashiru: the bottom line is that the black race seems useless because they have depended and continue to depend on white man and his inventions. Just thank the whiteman for inventing the keyboard and computer you are using to view and type while you were still in your mud huts and the university students are busy forming cults.
Another sign of low IQ people is confrontation and getting personal e.g. "bleep off"
Of all the races of people in the world, the black man is the most wicked and self centered.
Bleep off,am tired of you,all you know is to mock the black race.i dont think you are based in nigeria though cos you have a reasoning of nigeria stuck in the 90s
[quote author=BigBashiru post=91138519]You can't say bleep western countries. Nigeria's electricity is being done by Germany. Defence is being done by a foreign country. Rail is being provided by China. State Governments are contracting with foreign firms. You use white invented electricity and fly on their airplanes. [/quofte]
So fucking what, are those things being done for free,is it only blacks that contract foreign firms,Bleep off with this ur inferior mentality, its just a matter of time, bad leadership reduced us to this level we find ourselves but we will surely rise
YEBOmadiba: Therein lies your answer. Discrimination is state sanctioned in Nigeria whereas in SA people cannot be denied unfair entry or participation anywhere. So your country has granted the Chinese permission to ill-treat you in your own country? No wonder Mr Price sells you fake goods and dstv raises tariffs during lockdown. It's state sanctioned so long as you pay taxes.
See how you embarrassing yourself - I thought u said white man can't try this in Nigeria. They already are and your government allows it.
The Chinese do worse in SA,Chinese are not I'll treating anyone in naija, they cant, maybe only teenagers that work for them in factories,we don't give a damn about Chinese here, how many times do you hear about any Chinese I'll treatment from Nigeria, its rare,we don't give a damn about them, they can't try shit with any mature person
Yes we need to fix our country but not because we want to gain respect of western countries,Bleep western countries,Bleep them,we need to fix our countries for ourselves
Minxie: thanks for clearing things up. I guess to me it just seems odd because Nigeria has been independent and working for much longer than SA so it's always strange when they look for expertise elsewhere. One would assume that Nigeria would be the country providing the expertise to others. But thank you for telling me more about that situation. I'm glad that they are regulated carefully. I wish it was something we could do too.
But you should know that Nigeria was under dictators that were corrupt and didn't help its citizens for quite a long time,
Minxie: Okay I understand what you are saying and as you may have noticed, i told the person that it isn't fair to call Nigerians lazy when we don't know their circumstances. Also, i think the comment about laziness was made because Nigerians on this forum usually call South Africans lazy so it was kinda like an ironic type of joke. At least, that's how I took it.
We weren't saying that Chinese and Lebanese are taking over the Nigerian market. We were simply saying that the fact that Chinese etc are the ones employed in massive projects like construction and factories is problematic for its citizens because these citizens should be used and not foreign labour. We aren't saying that Nigerians are incapable of doing these things. Actually I was advocating for Nigerians by saying that there are so many Nigerians who are everywhere doing things but their own government would rather use Chinese etc for such projects.
I am proud that Nigeria is producing more because it means that its citizens will benefit. It's a situation of putting Nigeria first (something that South Africans are also campaigning for themselves).
In fact, if more countries got their acts together, there wouldn't be such a huge refugee and displacement crisis. Nobody is against Nigeria becoming great. I have no idea where you (and many others) get this notion that South Africans don't want you to develop. In fact, if you develop, we would be able to reap more benefits such as more trade and investment and, obviously, job creation.
The Chinese in my opinion are engaged for such projects because of their supposed expertise and experience ,Nigerians are used for the general work of those projects most times you just have a few Chinese directing things with hundreds of Nigerians doing the actual work, also nigeria has local content laws, there is a maximum number of foreigners that can be employed in such situations, its not free for all, although sometimes the foreigners might want to bribe officials to bring more of their people but it is generally followed
Minxie: I don't understand... Can you elaborate please?
Someone mentioned that Nigerians are lazy and our economy is being bouyed by Chinese and lebanese.Truth is its false, the Chinese aren't into business in Nigeria so much, they are mainly into road construction and Lebanese also do not have any business in Nigeria that is not rivaled or even bettered by a local Nigerian owned business,Nigeria produces so many things now, gone are the days of so called importing pencils and toothpick, its just that due to massive population local production might not be able to meet demand so we might still need to augment with imports ,but going forward Nigeria is even going more and more local, almost all sectors of Nigerian economy is in the hands of Nigerians, the mainstay of oil is 70% local, only road construction and and probably factories have probably more foreign dominance for now.many people don't know but Nigeria is only going to get better,we have seen our worst times, that's what you guys don't understand .The way Nigeria is going to develop in the coming years will shock Africa
Minxie: I won't call them lazy because I don't know their circumstances. It is unfortunate that their government uses labour from China and Lebanon and wherever because I know many Nigerians are qualified to do those jobs. They must stand up to their government and demand answers to that problem. I think it's very disgusting that there are so many high paid expats when Nigeria has it's own citizens who are qualified in those fields.
What I mean with my business idea is that I have many small businesses ideas that have the potential to develop into bigger things. Especially in the tourism industry in Nigeria but I can't just access their market like a Nigerian can save money to open a small shop in SA. So our government needs to address this imbalance by either negotiating more access to their market or closing off access to our informal sector. It's only fair because an average South African doesn't have the means to open a business in Nigeria because it isn't legally allowed. Yet an average Nigerian can open an informal business in SA. So what I'm saying is that if Africa wants to unite, they can't expect unity to only come from one side. It takes an agreement that favors all parties and not just a few.
PS before people attack me for being xenophobic, i was pointing out situations on the ground by using Nigeria and South Africa as an example.
You people can keep deceiving yourselves, you don't know anything, how many Chinese businesses or even Lebanese owned businesses in Nigeria, you just trying to provoke Nigerians, well Nigerians are going to live you guys behind, the way it will hit you people in SA ehn will be so shocking
Dasuks: Nigeria has everything to not only eradicate poverty, but also to engender prosperity. Look at what we earn every year from the sale of oil.. An amount that is double the entirety of global nickel and cocoa industry sales for example. Just one country. No real organizing principle. Very undisciplined institutions and straight up parochial officials and leaders.
What stops Naija from creating village and township industries scattered all over the country in different areas of expertise. People make do with what is around them, get educated to better harness their physical surroundings and receive subventions from govt for activities which would ofc attract private funds, once proven to be profitable. The cities are already major service centers and concentrated markets. They will see more activity as growth happens. More jobs for those leaving school of any kind (HND, BSc, SSCE etc )
Actual real sector growth (manufacturing of all kinds, food processing ) for once in forty years. But no, the ogas at the top no gree. And ofc most ppl can't really start worrying about such macro scale visions when they have to solve immediate hunger and shelter problems. Naija leaders no try at all.
Its state capture my man they know all these things but wouldnt do it .its a system of keeping majority of the people poor
