So you claim to be critiquing religion in general, but chose the church as the title of your hopelessly deranged tirade.

The Church that doesn't and has never run Nigeria is responsible for the incompetence of Nigerian leaders even under a Muslim Muslim administration.

There are many things I can say, but all I will say is that it is hard to navigate life as a fool.

It's weird how much obsessed these atheists and their MUDSLIME allies are with Christian money in the form of tithes. As if they think it will go to them if Christians stop paying tithes😂

Stop lying. Younger generation are building nothing. They are lazy greedy fools without any control whatsoever over themselves.
If they are serious and intelligent as you claim, they would have taken power by now and change things because they do have a path to power. I hope I don't have to explain that to you.
They are dunces following an Agulu miscreant. They are not very intelligent. I had to report one of them to efcc as he was trying to crash the economy because he did not like the naira gaining. I wanted to make the fool a scapegoat but unfortunately the thread was deleted by the time people from ogun state governors office could see it. Compare educated British youths and Nigerian youths, you will weep.
The churches built schools and hospitals. They also had a civilizing influence on the people. It is not intelligent to throw out the baby with the bath water .
Bello was youthful when he became governor: he is now being pursued by efcc. The northern senator that took dollar bribe from Otedola is a youth. In Nigeria the children are worse than their fathers.
How can children not be worse than their fathers when their fathers where bad in the first place, bad parenting bad children, the older generation destroyed the Nigeria and the youths.

The youths were born into a destroyed Nigeria, the older generation were born into a Nigeria set right by the colonialist and founding fathers, but what did they do with it?

They destroyed it

Am not just talking about politicians, across board, the only stand out thing about the colonial GENERATION like you even pointed out is religious bodies and institutions.

That's the only sector working with the older generation, they are mediocre in every other sector

Well the above comment is a comment I respectfully disagree with

The USSR was an atheist society which collapsed in 1991, while the USA has had too much religion, and yet it is strong.

The simple reason why the USA has outlasted the USSR is simple. Free markets . Things are sold at a profit in the USA meaning there is more than enough money for innovations.

Here in Nigeria we try to live as if we are the USSR.

For examples we sell electricity power at a loss in the name of helping the poor or providing equity or something like the USSR did. That's nice but at the end the power companies cannot make a profit and thus cannot fund things like

1. Power for industrial development and production

2. Money for local inventions and innovations that would improve our power supply

Unlike the USA where you have power companies that make a profit and use it to buy from local electronic companies which funds their growth

That's how Edison and Alex Bell founded companies that revolutionized the USA.

Here in Nigeria , at independence, we had two choices. Run a free market and industrialization project which means like south Korea and china a lot of suffering for a generation or two before benefits come in, or run welfarist projects at subsidise rate, with a lot of loan taking when local revenues are poor. Because at independence we had a large poor population and a tiny rich population. We chose the welfare route

And that has led to massive loans and debts and corruption. Like the old USSR.it tends to happen with money sharing for equity economies. And it breeds poverty and economic ruin and leads to people falling vicitim to get rich quick schekmes of the secular (MMM) and religious variety

( And if not for religion a lot of us won't have gotten educated or even had the tools we have for industrial development. Even in atheist countries)

The best way for Nigeria to run well is to allow the free market do it's thing. And also enforce tax collection. Alongside accountability and freedom form corrupt rule. That way we would eventually have a society that we can be proud of.

Blaming religion is just lazy really.
You lack comprehension,

The colonial GENERATION is who I called out not religions per se,

A generation that knows nothing but religion

Nigeria is not USA, stop making such comparisons.

Whiteman get sense, not the childish blackmen

We keep making excuses for them for the older generation

They are a ruinous bunch

They have simply failed in their era.
They built nothing

Why didn't they switch to the so called free market when things were getting bad?

They didn't want to suffer the pains but now they want young people to suffer the pains of free market.

Very useless GENERATION
If you not part of that generation
Stop making excuses for them

They simply don't deserve it

You mean that the Church that has no constitutional roles or power in Nigeria is the one killing Nigeria?
Is it the Church that make your country not to be able to generate, transmit or distribute sufficient power for more than a century, whereas Churches are enjoying 24/7 power they generate themselves in their various camp grounds/cities.
Is it the Church that is handling or padding your national budget?
The best run schools, hospitals, rehabs, motherless homes etc in Nigeria today are owned by the Church or Christian individuals.
FYI, many people usually run to Church as their last hope for treatment/healing, accommodation, feeding and all sorts of help.

Actually my post isn't about the church but about the colonial GENERATION who destroyed Nigeria.

There's a common denominator about them
All they know and understand is religion.

For the Christians their ultimate focus is church church ,Bible ,God etc.

The Muslims is the same.

They are the generation that killed all thriving industries and created the current booming religion industry in NIG.

That has been their legacy has they bow out,
Religion.

They have built nothing
They have left nothing

Younger generation are building Nigeria from the ground up.

The only thing the colonial GENERATION have built successfully in Nigeria is the religious industry with thriving booming churches worldwide and Islamist fundamentalism.

No technology, no innovation, no economic progress, no infrastructure, no political advancement, no industries, only few businesses,no rule of law,no educational advancements etc .

Religion, only religion

Attacked where launched and roundly defeated at the igala state boundaries which stretch upto Abaji..!!

Again I say, the fulani would have never ever conquered the igalas and ebiras...!!

Nobody ever pay any tribute to the fulanis...the it was the jukuns the igalas were paying tribute to and at a time refused and it resulted into war which
Bassa nge who were running away from Fulani defeated the igalas, is it Fulani that would not have been able?

Mind you,at that time, the igalas were severely weakened by internal strife.

The igalas at completely lost all their power by 1800, just like Benin.

Igbirra were help by their hilly terrain, and unity

The Okun Yorubas still have Obas not Emirs.
Even the Ilorin emirate exists only because the British forcefully allowed that to stand even though the Oyos won back Ilorin. All towns outside Ilorin like Omupo, Offa, Ajase Ipo, Jebba etc have their Obas till today.
Go check the records, okun Yoruba did not have any significant town worth ruling, they were a source of tributes and slaves.

Same for the igbomina areas, they were raided for tribute and slaves

The records are there don't take my word for it.

The Fulani after they took over Hausa kingdoms were no more interested in emirship, they just wanted tribute, even the Nupe kingdom that they took over, the ruler is called etsu and not emir.
Forget about this emir thing.

Emirship was not a must for the Fulani.

They were more interested in tribute n slaves

Even the northern Edo kingdoms were they took over they never imposed emirship,

Auchi in Edo were Islamised but they don't have emir but otaru title.

Infact the igalas defeated all the fulani soldiers that came close to their borders upto Abaji area cos they the igalas where controlling those territories...!! The igalas even have watch towers and fobs around koto karfe zone that alerts the kingdom anytime the fulani tries to make any incursion...!!!

Apart from the ebira and igalas the fulani didn't succeed in conquering other minority tribes in the Middle Belt...infact in those days it is suicide for any fulani to step feet around the Plateau area..!!

The only people the fulani succeeded with are the hausas in Nigeria and right now they are beginningto also wake up and take their rightfull place...!!!
Ordinary bassa nge,who were running from enslavement by the Fulani defeated the igalas, it's only the igalas that were protected by the royal Niger company stationed at lokoja not the igbirra, the Fulani raided and destroyed the abaji, nasarawa zone and set up two kingdoms in keffi and nasarawa toto,.

Thank you for educating the OP. The jaba, Kagoro, Maria TRI es of Southern Kaduna were never under Fulani domination. They always had their first class chiefs who were never under the Emir of Zaria. OP the north is broader than you think!
They forced these tribes to pay tribute, they were raided for SLAVES, these tribes didn't have central administration like the Hausa's,that is why the Fulani didn't impose their rule but instead exerted tribute and slaves

The fulanis had a good administrative and well organized army 💯. The British attested to this and that's why indirect rule worked in northern Nigeria off course after the bloody fall of sokoto caliphate battle.
N.B: Fulanis never conquered kanuris, kanuris are tough warlords too. Kanem Borno empire was a no go area and still a no go area for fulanis.
The Fulani actually did, check the records, though the kanuri later re launched against them and won,but the Fulani had already inflicted serious damage to the kanem borno

Going by records of the British, unless you are claiming it is false, the royal Niger company actually prevented the Fulani from launching attacks on igalaland, cos the British were based at lokoja then, the Fulani had already overtaken the Nupe( who are not Hausa's) so you are wrong that they took only the Hausa's.
They destroyed the okun Yoruba, destroyed the ebira koto in koto karfe, they only could not destroy the igbirra Tao and ogori( helped by hilly terrain), they destroyed the gwari, who fled leading to influx of refugees to the igala zone ,that's why there are bassa komo and bassa nge in the igala zone, they forced the jukun to pay tribute, they forced plateau tribes to pay tribute.

PoliticsNo One Has Answered This Question About The Fulani by babasolution(op): 6:19pm On Mar 25, 2024
In the study of the archives of Nigerian history written by the British colonial officers,it is clear that the Fulani were on the ascendancy in Nigeria till the British put a stop to their ascendancy.

The Fulani were winning all their wars coming down south, they had virtually the whole north in their hands safe for the igbirra zone and the igala zone( who were shielded by the royal Niger company).

Could they have conquered the zones of the south say Benin or the igbos zones, they terrorised the Yoruba severely but we're unable to capture beyond Ilorin.

The question which no one has answered till date is,what made the Fulani so successful in their wars in the Nigerian territory, they took over all Hausa kingdoms ( every single one of them),took over the Nupe, gwari, destroyed panda, igu of the ebira kwoto, destroyed the jukuns, and harid and enslaved numerous tribes in the north, they destroyed kanuri kingdoms.

Why were the Fulani so successful in warfare.
Only the igbirra and ogori did not fall to the Fulani in the whole north were they attacked.

I think SLAVERY cudnt have been evitable, I saw a thread were a guy probably a majority tribe man working in south Korea carrying cement up the third floor.

It's an example of the deep disposition of these majority tribe folks to slavery.

I would answer you this way: The single most consistent test of IQ in Nigeria today is the standardized tests for university entrance and others like it in Nigeria. Why do Igbo states have higher cut-off marks than other non-Igbo states?
Answer this first.

You have no idea how much damage forced unity had done to the igbo in Nigeria.
Someone said earlier that Nigeria exists solely to stop Igbo from exercising FULL SELF DETERMINATION, hence self actualization - maximizing self expression (of intelligence).
Imagine a country that contains Israel, Jordan, Iran, Lebanon etc. And in that country, all that non-Israel nations (who obviously have more population when combined) obsess about is how to make sure that Israel never emerges, or Jews never fully express their God-given potential.
That is exactly what is happening to the Igbo in Nigeria.
For a very brief moment when Igbo enjoyed full sovereignty and autonomy, didn't you see what they produced?
In fact what they produced frightened some guys in Europe who they said that they don't want "another Japan in Africa".
That is the point.
Majority of Nigerians don't care about the Igbo and have never hindered the Igbo in any way, limit your labeling to the specific groups that are hindering the Igbo, am from a small minority tribe in kogi,we have never done anything against the Igbo, the Igbo have had it way better than us in Nigeria,we have never benefitted anything from NIG, all we have is through our tears ,sweat and blood, don't categorise us with people who you think are hindering your igbo
PoliticsRe: Ibos Have No Right To Claim They Are The Japan Of Africa by babasolution: 9:32am On Mar 18, 2024
Oriental4:
Let me answer:
1) Igbos are fighting on many fronts: The Europeans, Americans, and fellow black tribes being used to keep the great tribe dragged back.
2) Igbo are too individualistic and have united only once during Biafra. I think they do not know their full potential and that the West doesn't want them to herald the African renaissance. If only Igbo could realise how much the black races depend on their unity, they'd not wait for only calamity such as Biafra to unite them. Igbo clans and families are more interested in pursuing money than pursuing nationhood - which is what Africa needs from them. Even our less endowed African tribes are not aware they're mere tools in the hands of the colonialists. That's why they allowed the British to teleguide them ...
This is the problem with the igbos which attract hate, this faux superiority mindset, igbos are not better blacks, they haven't shown any reason to be regarded as better blacks, igbos were lucky to be given almost monopoly of trade in NIG, which gave them success,if other tribes go in to trade, igbos are done

This is insightful. Let me paraphrase: Nigeria's most important accomplishment in its 109 years of existence obviously is keeping down the Ibo nation for the West (Europe and America). Have you noticed the unity among Nigerian when the adversary seems to be Ibo? Even on Nairaland, you'll see everyone having an opinion if the topic vilifies the Ibo. I mean from Maiduguri to Brass, Kebbi to Epe, there seems to be a consensus that Nigeria is making progress as long as the Ibos remain a part of the country albeit a peripheral part.

The divide and rule inculcated in the system by the British sure had as its agenda to keep this black race down among less progressive tribes within this contraption. I can go further to hypotize that this same principle was behind the 2023 election heist. If you think it's all about bribe money, you've got another think coming.
No one is against the ibos,it's all in your head, all minority states (middlebelt n south south) supported Peter Obi,the igbos have occupied top positions in government during Obasanjo, Jonathan etc.ibos live freely everywere in the country,no one cares about the igbos, but you igbos like drawing attention to yourselves putting yourselves in harm's way
