That said, what should Africans hold on to?
IFA or Sango worship?
What bad in IFA n Sango worship
Christianity EtcWhy Do Africans Hold Christianity And Islam So Fervently by babasolution(op): 12:13pm On Mar 17, 2024
Throughout the world it seems as if Africans especially Nigerians hold on to these 2 foreign religions so intensely and fervently, these two religions are placed above every consideration, every one and everything in Africa especially Nigeria.

Personally I don't see what is so attractive about these religions.
Am also still confused how Africans were so quick to dump their original practices for Christianity and Islam and still hold on tight to it like their lives depend on it.
PoliticsRe: Ibos Have No Right To Claim They Are The Japan Of Africa by babasolution: 12:06am On Mar 17, 2024
EbinPawaGovt:
This post is not about fighting the British but why the Ibos didn't utilize their high intelligence and tech savviness to arm themselves against the colonialist since they were the best black Africans with the high IQ to have been able to do that and not be colonized like the rest of we blacks. Imagine having an advanced Ibo country that was not colonized by the British being a pathfinder for the rest of African tribes. Someone even wrote a book "In Biafra, Africa Died" Imagine what could have been without a colonized Igbo country.
This is because in all sincerity, the ibos are not the best blacks or high IQ blacks, the igbos were the most enslaved blacks in history, enslaved by all their neighbours north to south.

The igbos only gained prominence in the later British Nigeria because they wholeheartedly accepted British Christianity, this made them favorite's of the British who elevated the igbo status, same for the Yoruba
PoliticsRe: Ibos Have No Right To Claim They Are The Japan Of Africa by babasolution: 11:40pm On Mar 16, 2024
It was the Zulus that gave the British real fight in Africa not the igbos, the Zulus killed not less than a thousand troops of the British in one day.

The igbos are no were,it was the anioma who are mixed blood with igala and Edo that gave the British tough fight not the core igbos, the Anglo aro war was an easy win for the British, the easiest fight n victory they had in African.
The ijaws of brass did better

It's not about we waz kings shit, I was like you before until I read a first hand history of my hometown written by an indigene who did proper painstaking research, I was marvelled by the accomplishment of my ancestors in the book,It was really eye opening and I had a change of mindset.

Note: the author was not Western educated,he only learned to read, speak and write English by himself, he did a comprehensive, detailed research to the depths of our village, it was so astounding ,I was so surprised

Our ancestors were actually the problem. They thought the white man was superior. They sold their brothers and sisters to the Arabs and Europeans in exchange for rabble ( beads, knives, gin, clothes, gunpowder, etc)

The same mentality continues today across Africa.
Not all black kingdoms engaged in slavery, many didn't,but my point is the ancestors did their best with the limited knowledge and experience they had,but today's with open knowledge, today's Blackman still depend on whites for everything, eg building common roads

It's still part of what we are saying.. the North is boiling, so their youths are fleeing to the Southern parts to escape insecurity. The South East is undeveloped, so no jobs, reason all of them want to run to Lagos, Ogun, Ibadan and likes in search of well paying jobs.

I thought their Obi transformed Anambra into Dubai with his leadership qualities.. yet they are running to Tinubu Lagos morning, afternoon and night every blessed day.
There are many southwesterners in other parts of the country like everybody else,Lagos is a neutral ground for everyone including southwesterners

Without being accused of cynicism, please where did you get that information from? The only way I think of it being accurate is that south south as a geopolitical region has so many ethnic groups, unlike the homogenous Southeast. But numbers are important since you stated it as a categorical fact.

To be fair though, the southwest receives a lot of people from other regions because it is Nigeria's most prosperous region. However, other regions, including Kogi which is mocked here, rightfully so anyway, can equally be prosperous.
Southwesterners are in other regions too incase you don't know

Honestly speaking, you must be new to Lagos State, or you are just playing the Hypocrite?

How old are you by the way?
You the one new to Lagos, any honest person will attest to the fact that the mainland is irreparable, there's been massive infrastructure over the years but it still very very messy

It's the effect of overpopulation and unchecked influx of migrants especially from South East into South West that we are seeing.. soon the entire South West will be a complete mess as our people have refused to be wise.

The same allocation Lagos State collects is same allocation that goes to each of the 5 South East States, so what are their people looking for flocking into South West en masse?. there should be a form of tax imposed on such exodus from one region into another. It's injustice in my own perspective.
Omo,Hausa pass southeasterners for Lagos oo,forget

Na lie you talk so… Go to Ikeja and see things for yourself.
Ikeja has barely improved if we are to be honest, it's the reason why I specifically mentioned Lagos mainland, the island is decent enough,a lot of work is being done but it hardly makes a difference.

Take for example, the terminal built in oshodi has become an eyesore now.
That is what am talking about, many things are being done to improve the aesthetics of the mainland but it always comes to nought at the end of the day.

If time travel is possible I would take you back in time to see Lagos of 70s and 80s.

Homelessness and overpopulation is to see able bodied people making under bridges their homes. Is it demarcating roads with waste or making side walks refuse dump you want to wake up daily to see?

Though it fall short of expectations but it is way better than the past
The mainland as only marginally improved, that's the truth,if you want to be honest

The truth is Lagos mainland cannot be resuscitated or beautified again. The whole area is a complete mess.

I have been seeing many beautification efforts, efforts to clean up,beautify, restore bad areas but it never works ,soon as an area is restored a bit it breaks down almost immediately, I don't think there's any effort that can reshape and reorganise the mainland. It's a lost cause.

Infact a new ECONOMIC planned city as to be built for Nigeria like Abuja.

LAGOS is gone

It is quite remarkable. Sunday Igboho's house was invaded by the authorities, people were killed. Yet, hardly anyone in the South Wesrmt could speak up against that injustice. Some of them even mocked Igboho for running for his life

PoliticsAs Sunday Igboho Enters Nigeria by babasolution(op): 4:26pm On Feb 23, 2024
Sunday igboho was chased away from his hometown by the Fulani authority, the Fulani sent Yoruba, led by a Yoruba woman to kill their own brothers.

He escaped and hid away from the Fulani authority, now that his kindred is in authority he believes he is safe and has confidently entered Nigeria.

Who will account for the innocent lives that were lost during that raid.

How come those lives were swept under the carpet.

That incident forever changed my perception of the Yoruba.

Then the Tiv people were brave when facing equally footed foes..they weren't fighting the Army or military forces..

One on one the Tiv will decimate and destroy any fulani in their midst without blinking an eye but they know due to experience..
Any reprisal by the indigenous people would result in the Army coming in to kill them.
This has happened several times in the past so they know the repercussions of reprisal.
Not that they're cowards .
Why has then there been successful reprisals by the bachama in Adamawa, and irigwe and tarok in plateau without army invasion, what's the deal with the tivs

You remind me of when I was small, our father will tell us stories of how powerful the Tor Tiv people are. How they can attack their enemies without you seeing them but goes in breeze to kill who they want.

My father when he was alive, made us to fear this Tiv people because he experienced their cruelty when he live in Borno. But fast forward to present year and time, they are now like vegetables, always crying and wailing.

My question now is, Who are those through Tiv people that lived during the time of my father's that scared him that he also has to put that Tiv phobia in us?
Exactly, I was told these same stories too, that's what I don't understand seeing what is going on today
