Need your help. My 94 altima (auto transmission) initially would freeze when I brake in traffic and refuse to move. Occurs for a few secs. Need to rev it to make it move. Had the gearbox serviced, oil changed and filter cleaned. Only made it worse. The reverse gear became stiff.

Had the gearbox changed. Then it would take a long time to change from gear 1 to 2, and the car began consuming fuel. Another mechanic said there was a mismatch in the gearbox to the engine. Had to fix my old gearbox back. Now a new problem. When I start the car, the Overdrive light blinks 13-15 times, then I now experience a very hard shift from gear one to two, or is it skipping to three?

The last auto tech, says if he drops the gearbox to ascertain the problem, I will not be able to change gears at all anymore. What do I do?

when i observed the engine block jerks foward when i put it in drive
the mec says it may be connected to the raised idle rpm

my 2000 nissan maxima, stops when i am at a traffic stop
a mechanic had to raise the idling speed to just above 1,000 rpms
it stopped the switching off, but the engine is now noisy and consumes more fuel
also the change in gears on the auto transmission aint smooth
my battery is fine, as someone recommended i change it

what should i do

i am just wondering if the prformance of bolt and other jamaicans in the sprint does not remind one of the seoul olympics where the guy from canada was disgraced for doping. i mean i like ssing records broken but to brak two world records from relative obscurity makes one worried.

colud my battery be bad?
aside the stopping when it idles, i simply enjoy the car
i dont trust anyone in benin city to touch my brain box

i have fastened the battery connection at the terminal
how do i check the harness?
when my mechanic increased the idle speed firing the problem stopped
but when transiting between gears it is not smooth and it guzzles more fuel
one more observation is that the headlights and dashboardlights flicker as being powered by a bad generator

i use an old 94 nissan altima
and a 00 maxima
the altima works fine, and cheap to maintain
the maxima has the bad habit of going off when it idles, e.g at traffic stops
it makes my heart pant.
the maxima is a lovely car overall, but how do i solve that problem
help and advise needed pls!

6. telling a close friend to tell you to look him/her in the face when you talk helps
7. other lines of help will depend on what other complaints you might have

i have a 94 altima, and was having hard starting problems especially at petrol queues. my electrician said it was overheating, and rewired the circuit to make the fan come on at ignition. the hard starting stopped. so maybe if you are not having overheating problems, leave it alone.
