Franknerd: Please permit me to derail this thread a bit.
I bought a car at an auction site in USA nd was shipped to Nigeria through Grimaldi. When d car arrived here, the car keys were missing meanwhile the keys were there at the auction site and the driver dat took the car to the port in the States confirmed that the keys were there.
Surprisingly, I am getting this kind of trash from Grimaldi dat I hav always believed is reliable.
How do I go about this to recover the car keys? Any suggestions, pls! Thanks This is so,so disheartning,i don't see Grimaldi doing anything about this, definitely the key got lost while the car was in their possession,if not,how did the car get to them. I just hope it's not one of these new model cars that might cost you a fortune to replace. what i usually do is i get them to courier me the spare keys with my Bill of Lading |

michnib: Hi House, My wife and I wanted to use Chicago hospital for out second baby but we later change our decision to use DelSol Medical Centre where we had our first child, since it's not so feasible that I'll travel due to work schedule. I have initiated communication with the hospital and awaiting my await my wife appointment letter from the hospital. Do I send a letter of change of intent to the embassy? (if yes what mail address please?).
Please what document do you suggest she need to take along with her for her POE. No you don't have to write a change of intent letter to the embassy My advice is for you to hold your statement of zero balance plus all your old receipts from your 1st missionary journey Using a different Dr from what you a mentioned during interview shouldn't be an issue, just hold Dr and hospital correspondence for this new Dr you plan to use. |

bestbuyer: Hello House, Has anyone flew ETHIOPIAN AIRLINE recently to US and especially to the West Coast- Phoenix Arizona. What was the experience? Any difficulty on the way? How cool is Ethiopian Airline? Any worries at POE or concern to be noted? I found them to be fair in pricing compared to the Europe, UK and Golf airlines. Do they provide accommodation for long lay over- 13hrs to 20hrs. Travel is for August with 2 kids...
Secondly, anyone with Hospital and doctor info that is cheaper than 8k for CS at Phoenix? Pls post or pm.
Pls i need help with the info before ticket hold expires on friday.
Thank you all. I have not flown Ethiopian airline, but have read reviews here of people that flew them, from what i can remember, they saId it was fair. With this long layover ,i guess your transit point is Addis and not Lome? |

Senatornuella: Re: Give birth in the US. Hello everyone I am new here but have found so many useful tips here. I gave birth to my son in the US April 2016, and I am pregnant again. My medical visa is still valid and I intend to use it again to travel to have my baby. Will I need to write the embassy again or just travel with it? This POE thing got me frightened even though I was allowed in the last time but delayed i can't help but ask if there might be any hassle entering from Houston. Again I intend to change my doctor and hospital will that also be a problem at poe? I don't think you have anything to fear since you have a medical visa. Houston poe got nothing on you. No,you don't have to write to the embassy for you to travel with your old visa, you're good to go. My only advice is for you to hold your statement of zero balance plus all your old receipts for 2016 missionary journey Using a different Dr this time around shouldn't be an issue, just hold Dr and hospital correspondence for this new Dr you plan to use. |

My question is, with a valid Canada visitor Visa this multi city itinenary shouldn't be a problem at either POE right? You dint mention anything about having a US visa,i hope you have one? I don't see why it will be a problem If you do. |

freshdad: From what I understand, birthing centre are very cheap and from my little understanding, no VO would grant you a visa for using one as they expect you to come spend good money in their country and a birth centre is the opposite of that.
Lets now assume you got the visa and you use the birthing center, should there be any complications you would be taken to the affiliate hospital where you would treated as an emergency patient and you'd have to pay from your nose as that wont come cheap.
And during dropbox-a process of renewing your visa when it expires, you may be lucky not to be asked for the receipt of payment at your child's' birthing. When you present a birthing center receipt, they'd just refuse you.
My explanation may not be clear enough as i hope veterans here would have cleared it out for you. Gbam! You have said it all, nothing to add. To further test the waters, those interested in using birthing centers can apply for medical visa and tell VO during interview that they plans to use birthing centre, lets see if they will get the visa. |

alabizzzz: Hello House,
Is there anyone that has applied for medical visa to give birth in US before from the UK?
Please i need advise because i reside here with my wife for now and i have a feeling the VO might ask my wife that why are you going to the US to give birth when you can give birth here in the UK with good health service.
And the reason why i am doing this now is because if i give birth here, my child cannot get British passport straight away as i am still under work permit visa.
I am very confused please i need your advise based on people experience. If i were you,I'll just go ahead and tell the vo the truth,ie to give the child a better opportunity in life. Do you really think that most vo's believe the hog wash of "to get better health care" of cause they know it's all for the Amee kpali |

I just paid my doctor's bill of 2200$ with houston north west medical center and after all the scan done my planned Cs is for 17 of july and my husband interview is for 24th of july have already told doc xydas to send my receipt to my hubby so dat he can use it to defend himsef my questions now are: 1)is deir a place in d ds160 form dat will identified is one has paid for bills or not? 2)if asked at the embessy why he's going to the us,what do u think d answer shld be? pls house help me I want him to elaborate dat aspect very well so dat the payment for the bills will show.
don't forget dat I would have given birth before the interview.
thanks in anticipation. 1) I don't think there is anywhere in the ds160 form where he has to indicate if he has paid bills or not,but he can take the receipt with him when going for interview as part of his supporting documents,in addition to your Dr & hospital correspondence, photo copy of your data and visa page etc 2) If asked why he is going to the US,the answer is simple " to bring my wife and baby home" |

doreese: Now to my question.
For someone without family in the US Elpaso seemed my safest bet using dotoresparati cos of accommodation and proximity. However the current prices of tickets to Elpaso is almost 1m. A friends wife just recommended a hospital in Dallas to me and the fee is about $1,000 cheaper than what I'll be paying in El Paso. Also flight ticket is about 300k cheaper if am going to Dallas. So my question is will this pose a problem for me seeing as I stated Elpaso as final destination during my interview.
Please veterans in the house kindly assist No,this shouldn't pose a problem, just make sure you have doctor and hospital correspondence for whereever you are going, also be sure you have put everything into consideration i.e. factored in all possibilities because one of the reasons people choose Dresparati is their up front and transparent billing. |

Austine2020: You dont need it since u have used your visa for the purpose it was issued to you,.But some people still prefer to send it and receive the normal response for formality sake, should incase the question of "did u inform the embassy" arises at the POE,then u can have something to show, to avoid stories that touches the Heart.,Because all these people speaking long grammar here cannot save u at the POE,.better be prepared than to be taken unawares. Your budget should depend on the Hospital, doctor u are using and other things u might need during your birthing period, like house accommodation, etc U can budget 10kusd,u might have a big change from this or u might need more USD in case if there is extra charge which might came up as a result of any complication during your childbirth which no one prays for. Gbam!!! You have said it all |

I'm just wondering if the change of state will not affect me at POE, if such question comes up what do I say?

My visa wI'll be expiring in end of mid-September & my EDD date is last week of August.
Which date ll be safe to use as return date for ticket to avoid POE issues? You can chose any return date that pleases you. The important thing here is that you enter America before you visa expires. It's the duration you are stamped at poe that matters and determines your duration of stay. For example,if your visa expires tomorrow and you enter America today and they stamp you in for 6 months, this means you are entittled to stay in America for 6 months. |

temmyo: @kamee,
You should go to the hospital asap and ask for the fee for delivery for self pay patients. Sign whatever document you need to sign so you know you are covered and they can't bring any funny bills afterwards. If possible pay upfront.
Inquire as to the doctor that will take your delivery, how much they will bill you, if it's covered in the package, etc. Same for paediatrician, anaesthesia, etc.
Call the clinic and ask them to explain the bills. Since you said you've paid, albeit less than what was quoted in the mail you got, it might be a simple issue of reconciliation from the billings dept. You may not have to pay anything else. They just have to confirm your zero balance. Ensure you get a zero balance letter from them.
Finally, don't leave everything in the hands of your SIL. Most of our people there don't understand how birth tourism works. You are the one who knows what needs to be done and achieved with regards to your bills, especially for the purpose of visa renewal.
Good luck. Gbam ! You have hit the nail on the head and said it all. Good advice . If i were you Kamee ,I'll follow this advice to the later. Shine your eye o,naija no dey carry last,no let oyinbo do yo abrakadabra o. |
