good day everyone, please i need clarification. is there a different from doctor appointment and doctor correspondence. will appreciate response please.

Doctors appointment is a document showing that you have a booked appointment with the Dr at such & such a date at such & such a time. It could form part of your Dr's correspondence, but not limited to it.
Dr's correspondence on the other hand is the email trail that has gone back and forth between you and your US Dr. It is suppose to include an acceptance by the Dr,his price etc

Hi good morning,

1-Please if you and your DW were denied Visa the First Time( we applied together before and went for the interview), is it advisable to let her go alone the second time coz of my work?

2- We intend applying again but found an accommodation closer to the Hospital, do we change that or leave it to were we filled in the previous form

Thanks as i await your responsesssssssssssssssssssss

Yes,she can go alone this time around,so that you'll be her tie to home country
Yes,you can change accommodation ,i don't think it's a big deal.
All the best.

Hi everyone. So I and my wife got denied Visa in Abuja. We stay in Abuja. This is our first interview and intent to travel out of the country. We were wondering how to apply again- this transpired between us and the VO.

VO- why are you travelling to the US
US- for vacation and to have our first baby
VO- Why the US
DH.- for better medical services
VO- but there are good Hospitals here
DH- the hospitals we currently use have issues
So we left their. We are thinking of reapplying and using the Hospital and doctor as contacts and get an apartment as where we would stay while in the Us. Also the option of DW applying first and go with her mum since her mum has a tourist Visa. Then DH can apply after. Please advice if we should also change the contact as against what we used before.

The only issue I see here is your reply to the question 'why are travelling to the us' why not just tell them the truth that it's for the dual citizenship, they know the answer already, they just want to know if you are sincere about it. I don't think you should change your contact,I don't think it has anything to do with your rejection.
Try and reapply soonest. Wish you all the best.

Hello good people of Nairaland.
Its been very rewarding following this thrend.

Pls, I got into Houston on saturday the 17th of this month and there was enough drilling at the POE as almost all the officers wanted to interrogate me followed by one who was practically threatening me with the fact that I borrowed the $10k dollars I had with me,, saying it is common with you Nigerians.

Please, now that I am here I have a question which I would sincerely appreciate if someone who had gone through same would assist with, my visa wasnt stamped in for any months or time. Please what do I do?

Please someone pls help as I am worried over this.

Thanks
Most likely you were stamped in for 6months. To be on the safe side you can check it here https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home

Please I need your suggestions. DH stays in another country and doesn't use his bank account here. I own a business here but usually I have nothing much to do with bank here, when I make sales, I deposit directly to my suppliers. So most times, I make no personal payments into my account but DH does send lump sums into my account and most times because I have a business, I don't touch them for a long time and he also pays lump sums in for his brother in the east(a contractor) for his building projects tho (I stay in Lag). So from what I have in my account, what his bro has and our assets, we can comfortably afford having our kids in the US.

I am just confused because most of what I see here are from mums whose husbands are sponsoring or who are sponsoring themselves but have salary and employment letters to show they earn well and also strong ties. My own is different, hubby doesn't stay here. So no bank statement, no steady salary for me, I am only a business woman here o. I sell beverages wholesales. So my business is not registered.
Please help me, I don't know how to go about that strong financial backing o.

Your husband can be your sponsor,he doesn't have to live in Nigeria for him to do that,he should send you his bank statement for the last six months. I hope he is not living in the us? Since you don't have any proof of your business, you can say you're a home maker in other not to complicate issues.

To go outside you would need a UK visa or a transit visa. I guess

Not necessarily true,UK customs can stamp you in if you are transiting with a us visa. It's at the discretion of the officer you meet.

You shouldn't have any problem in so far as you have been keeping your own end of the bargain ( paying the agreed amount on and as at when due) I know people who are on payment plan and still had their visas renewed

No, I don't think it's too much, infact I think the more the better. Just make sure you have funds in your account to match your budget.

hi everyone I just want to make an enquiry, I had my baby in chicago last year and before I left the hospital is paid all my bills and got a zero balance. two months after I got to Nigeria I received a call from the people I stayed with that I had another bill that was for my baby.
I quickly transfered money to pay for that to my aunt and kept on calling to confirm, but the hospital claimed to never have sent it.
I called again today and was told that the bill had gone to a debt recovery company.
I just called them and they say I can pay with my card. I am making the payment tomorrow.

I want to know if this will pose as a problem for me in my next visit this year and how do I handle it. thanks

Just make sure that you are given a receipt and if possible a letter to back it up

Yes dear thats exactly where I clicked yes

VO kept emphasising on what I said at POE. She said even if she gives me visa CBP will not let me in with this obviously showing pregnancy tummy because of the previous lie

Sorry about your refusal, personally I don't think you should click yes to that particular question when next you are applying, like someone else mentioned,I think you are being too hard on yourself. You can explain to the visa officer that you didn't state your true intentions when you went to birth your 1st child.
I also think you stand a better chance applying from naija. That amount you mentioned that you guys have is more than enough to birth a child if you are applying from naigeria. From which country did you apply from?

Please I have a question from a friend, he returned in June with his wife from vacation in US, now the wife is pregnant, she want to go back to the US for child birth,

Do they have to send Letter of Intent to the Embassy and is the letter going to be handwritten or by mail to the embassy if need be?

The change of intent letter has lost its value from what has been said here. But I'll still advice they send the letter because it seems to calm cbp officers down at poe. The letter is usually sent by email

Can one mention organizations insurance if one has one that covers childbirth expenses in addition to bank statements? Just curious.
Yes if it covers your giving birth in the US,and make sure you go with evidence to support your claim.

Thank God you found this thread and you are well informed now.lying or concealing the pregnancy is not an option, Come clean at your interview even though your original application was for visiting tell the VO that you are pregnant and would like to birth in the US.Go with all the necessary documents eg Dr and hospital correspondence, statement of account etc. Read up here,it will help you a great deal.

Some states don't accept just any notary public, for those states it must be done at the US embassy.

I still don't have any intention of birthing there but someone advised me to have a contact with a doctor over there, as they may not believe me seeing my big stomach. That's why I need your advice as per doctor I can contact in case they ask. Thanks

If that's the case,I don't think you need to bother with Dr correspondence since you don't plan to give birth there, after all it's not all pregnant women that travelling to America that plan to birth there. Just tell them the truth that you are pregnant and you are going on vacation and that you don't plan to give birth there. Once you make your intentions known,I don't think that they would ask for Drs correspondence, cause it won't serve any purpose then.I think you'll be fine.

happy new year to you all. Please i need help, i was planning to go for US Tourism visa application interview last year but was changed to this year January, fortunately pregnancy came in and its now very obvious. please what do i do because i don't have any obs/gyn doctor there that can help me out even if they ask or better still if anybody can help me with any doctor's contact even though it wasn't part of my initial plan. The place am going is New York, Park South Hotel. Thanks.

Are you saying that you originally applied for a tourism visa and decided to use it for birthing now? If that's the case, you have plenty work o. Since this is a do it yourself forum,I'll advice you to get a jotter and start reading, taking notes and making calls. Come clean at the interview by telling them your original intention,go prepared with Dr&hospital correspondence, budget sheet, bank statement to cover cost etc.
Worse case scenario, you can go the Elapse route and pay dresparatti and get correspondence from them since you don't have much time left.
Good Luck!

THANKS SO MUCH ONCE AGAIN. PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ME WITH THESE VITAL INFO
Am actually going for medical with my husband for gynea case but am having problem with the link provided in this great forum to have access to list of medical doctors and state to visit.1)PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ME WITH THE LINK? so that I can contact the DOC and get neccessary info and documents from him before applying
I have a good job and properties which can serve as a strong tie.
2) I will also need a link for the form to apply for.
3) Hope it will also be a plus and wise if a get a referral letter from a gynea in naija.

PLEASE ADVICE

By gynea case I'm assuming you meant some other gynea case apart from giving birth. Go to www.healthgrades.com you'll find doctor's and hospitals that are available to you in the US,you can then limit your search to a particular state.
Yes, i think it will be a plus to get a referral from your nigerian doctor

Hello everyone,
Please I'm new here, though i have followed this thread for some time now. My wife is pregnant and its our first child. I have done quite a bit of research about having a baby in the US, of which this thread has been of some help. I do have a number of relatives in the States but my preferred city of choice is Raleigh, NC. However, i seem to be having some problem finding hospitals within that area. I have only seen three hospitals and they all seem to be very big and expensive hospitals; Duke university Hospital, Wakemed and UNC Rex. Please before i give up i don't know if anyone has any information that might help me with regards to finding a cheaper hospital or even getting a cheaper service at the aforementioned hospitals. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

North Carolina is not a cheap state for birth tourism. A friend had her baby in Raleigh to be precise because that was where she had family and she ended up geting a bill of about $18,000 which she's still paying on payment plan. So i will advice you to look at some other states.

Please help a sister. Hubby and i were denied visa last week. I want to reapply alone as he isn't really interested in travelling. I was to go to New York and i stated it that i have a family friend there. I also filled his contact in the form but there was no correspondence from the doctor and hospital before i went for my interview. I've been able to get correspondence from a doctor and hospital in Chicago. I also have a friend in Chicago she' s willing to accommodate but can't give me an invitation letter I have appointment for 26th of this month but yet to submit the form and I need to travel before the end of November. Please, i need advice on what to do. Plus i'm repeating the interview in abuja.

I don't see any big deal in changing your location to Chicago. Is the friend that wants to accommodate you in Chicago and can't give you invitation letter in the US legally? If no,i would advice you to forget filling her address on the form cause the VO & the Poe officer might also want to know if she is there legally. You can go to booking.com and book a hotel accommodation that you don't have to pay for till you get to the US. You can now use the hotel address and reservation for your visa application and poe. After clearing poe,you can then cancel the hotel reservation and go to your friends place..

I don't know if this is exactly true.

I got my visa Sept 2015 for a conference. Went for the conference in October 2015 and stayed for just 5days. Got pregnant March 2016, travelled Oct 2016 to give birth. Sent notifications of intent AND declared at POE.

Applied for renewal as I need to attend a meeting in the US but was called for follow up interview.

Na where I dey now be that.

Point is, no one can predict who they will call and who they won't

At time they call people for interview if you stayed long in the US,just to confirm if you had a baby there and also if you paid your bills.

Hello all,
My husband, two kids and I went for our interview today in Abuja and was denied under section 214b. I am presently pregnant, and i want to have the baby in the US as it was discovered during my last CS that my uterus had ruptured. We can afford this trip but no single document was checked.
My question is can i reapply ASAP but without my family this time? Will dat give me a better chance?.
I answered my questions very well but i guess my husband was a bit nervous.

I will advice you to reapply alone as you mentioned,so that your husband and children can act as your ties to home country. It's possible that maybe the VO thought you guys were planning not to return ie not enough home.ties

Can't say if applying with hubby is an advantage or a disadvantage, because i have seen a lot of people in both categories getting visas,so do what comes natural to you.
Telling the Vo that he'll be joining you latter sounds great.
I don't think the pictures have to be the same
