Hello Nairalanders, I am scheduled to leave for Houston next week so I thought today was a good day to see my doctor before my departure and to request for a 'fit to fly certificate'. The doctor was like 'hope you are fully prepared'. That he had 2 of his patients whom he had given such certificates within the last 2/3 weeks denied entry and returned. He said he didn't ask them for details of why but one of them had already had 2 babies in the US.
Now I'm worried and scared as it appears this Trump motivated rigidity may have made things tougher.
No need to panic, you don't know the kind of issues the women that were sent back had and how prepared they were. guess you have read and digested this thread, just pray, follow the recommendations here and go prepared. All the best!

You can use your business so far as it is well established and worth coming back to. You can actually use anything that you have that is worth coming back home to as tie to home country.

Applied for 4K but guy that helped me already said he wasn't sure I'd get all 4K. I can't complain.
If you are still intrested, will advice you to try another bank for the remaining $2k. Meanwhile was wondering why you were advicced to apply for only $2k. I am sure you would have gotten the whole $4k if you had applied for it. Pta don turn purewater now o.

Hello Mums!!!
I want to birth my baby in the US. My interview date is in March. Please what do i need to know. I am using oakbend, houston. Dr F. My hubby and I are going to going for interview together. I hv travelled to 3countries; hubby: UK. We r both entrepreneurs. Hus company acc is wat we r using (my friend used her hubby company acc before). I am just wandering why everyone is saying go alone... or they went alone. I am scared. Please is there any advantage of going alone?
They advice you to apply alone so that your husband will act as your tie to home, that being said husband and wife have been known to apply together and were both given,so flow with your mind.

Hi nairalanders, please what's ur opinion about being denied a visa in abuja and going to Lagos for the next interview? Please help a sister
In my humble opinion i don't see anything wrong with it. Some people have tried it here in times past and it worked for them,so why not you try it.

Hello house.

With what I have read today on this thread of denials at Abuja, I am scared to reapply.

So I have a meeting to attend with my boss first week in April in America (that is if I get the visa or I will have to chose someone else in my team to attend)

My options are to reapply for vacation or reapply based on the meeting(as suggested by my boss as they will be sponsoring my trip in April since it is official).

My questions are;
1. should I reapply and say purpose of trip is for meeting but that I will still go on vacation later in the year or just reapply for vacation.
2. should I apply in Lagos this time since my last denial was in Abuja.

Please experts in the house help me answer these questions.
I would advice you reapply and say you are going for a meeting and go with evidence to support this eg invitation letter for the meeting etc. The important thing here is that you use the visa for that meeting, any other purpose you decide to use it for after that is left to you.
For your own peace of mind you can try lagos

Amen! I have decided to have my baby in Nigeria and apply for a visiting Visa later, so many regrets in my head sha, I should have asked more questions, I would ve refused the offer from day one, I was only being careful with my inlaws. The experience in her house is story for another day. My husband wants us to sue her or call family meeting for her to refund the money, but that won't give me the visa, so I told him to leave her to God.
How did i know. I was just thinking that this kind person will be a major drama queen o,i have not even finished and i saw your post. Make God help us from all these shifty inlaws o.

My sis I just tire, it's not like we didn't have the money o, why are we buying pple gifts when we can pay, if I had gone to El Paso I won't spend as much as 10k but I didn't want to be a rebel. Now look where it has landed me.

I ll advise you do your thing by yourself since your husband is paying, let your friend help you with only accommodation, don't let her cajole you into using her account for anything, it might put you in trouble at the long run. I am having issues renewing my visa now cos of something similar, my husband's aunt works in a hospital and she gave us a quote of 7500 for VD, we gave her the money. She said it includes everything, but alas we kept getting bills for lab which was up to an additional 1500, finally she gave us a receipt of 5500 citing that she had to buy gifts for some pple at the hospital to get the discount. Now my zero bal statement shows I paid 5500 and got a discount of about 8000. The VOs at abuja think it's impossible for to get that kind of a discount no matter who she is at the hospital. The hospital has written and all but my visa was still denied. You can imagine how I feel after spending close to 10k. So please get a doctor and hospital yourself to avoid stories that touch.
I don't think your husbands aunt was being totally honest with you guys, you get discounts in American hospitals because you are paying cash,na which one be buying gifts for some people again? That one na naija style na. Na which kind gifts she buy with a whole $2,000 na motor abi na 6o inch Lcd Tv? I'm so,so upset with this your aunt inlaw jist.

It not a must except your US Dr request for it. I guess the content should be a detailed history of your pregnancy and all the text you've done

Gud afternoon to u all @ dere5 I hail oo am here again person wai the ask questions no the miss road ooo abi na. My dd is June i'll be travelling by may 2017 DH is not going with me as he will be in UK then, a close friend is offering me a helping hand by accommodating me, getting a child birth center for me which she says will be cheaper as she is going to use her account to get more discount for me base on sister level, my issue now is, she said they will accept me to have my baby there fine but they cannot not send me doctor's approval letter until am there
1. If am bn call for f 2 f interview at the embassy what will I say? (I.e after sending letter of intent since my initial visa was based on visitation )
2. What will I tell or present at poe if I v bn asked if I v contacted a doctor (she is the one making every arrangement for me)
3. Can I use her as my sponsor since everything is going to be through her act? Can I also get her account details to show I can afford all my bills? How much cash can I have on me (Tho DH is going to send money tru her account)
4. Will they ask me why my sponsor is not DH? (We both have same visa also my son and now I will be going alone) if they ask me watin I go tok?
5. At 37 weeks will Nigeria immigration allow me to fly

PLEASE OOOOO AM CLUELESS HELP ME!! Thanks.
@olaboss this is dere5, i couldn't sign into my dere5 account ,so I'm using another account .
i will strongly advice you to get a Dr & hospital correspondence for poe purpose before you travel, even if you are not going to use it.
Will also advice you to carry your cash or print out a bank statement from YOUR ACCOUNT that reflects you've adequate finance to cover your bills, forget all this talk of putting your money in someone else's account and using their bank statement at poe
I have also heard that people that used birth centers have issues with renewing their visas ( i stand corrected)
To me,Saying that your sponsor is someone else raises a red flag
Check the pregnancy policy of the airline you intend to use to know if they will fly you at 37wks

No story with K leg here at all.
This would be my 3rd missionary journey having completed 2 successful previous journeys plus other shopping/vacation trips. The first was every first timers nightmare - detained at POE etc. Story for another day.

I used my current visa for holiday last year, wrote to the Consulate (this year) about intention to have baby in the states etc so no wahala there.

All bills paid although I don't have zero balance receipts from hospital (amounts paid by me matches amount quoted by the hospital and doctor etc). Hospital receipts reads "Pending Final Bill". Funny thing is - I didn't know about zero balance receipts till this forum and I've never been asked at POE.

Now I have this information, I'm concerned that this may be a problem.
Then you don't have a problem, but in the interim you can call or email the hospitals and ask if they can send you an email to say you are not owing them any money.
But if they refuse to do that, just print out your hospital and doctors quotes,so that you can match it with your receipt in case the need arises. God luck

Secondly, has anyone ( pregnant non US citizen) ever travelled with their LO (US citizen) but was denied at POE?
Cheers
The main thing here is if you are truthful during your interview and you use your visa for the purpose for which it was issued and most importantly you paid all your bill during your last missionary journeys and you carry your receipts with you.
Having a US citizen baby is not a guarantee that you will be allowed to enter Yankee if your story get K leg.

Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum but I almost read each and every part, I am a Filipino national currently residing in Dubai, I have B1/B2 visa and travelled to US in 2015, I am preggy now and I want to deliver to US and will definetly pay for all the expenses, however I am so confused and scared as I do not have any relatives in there, I will be flying to US in march and planning to deliver in Tx elpaso, hope I won't face any trouble at POE I will tell them that I will delivery my baby,,,, but I haven't send any notice to US embassy here in Dubai (Is it still necessary?) as I already travelled in 2015 as Tourist B2 which was also mentioned in the entry stamp. I really need advise to clear out my mind, as I know everyone is advising to send an email to embassy... but I still want to confirm if I really need to do that. sad sad sad TIA... smiley smiley smiley smiley
A lot of women have gone on this trip without having anybody in the US,so that shouldn't be an issue for you.
I don't think it's absolutely necessary for you to notify the embassy since you have travelled with the visa,
The important thing here is to be prepared for poe, with all the necessary documents eg Dr and hospital correspondence, evidence to show that you can pay your bills, evidence of accommodation etc

thank you so much for your reply. during my interview in the vo asked if i will like seek medical attention at any point in the us and i said yes, we went on a family vacation and then i later used it in 2015 for child birth i have all my reciepts of payment. i am heavy now and will be letting them know during the interview that i am going for the sole purpose of having my baby.i pray it will end in praise and i will come and testify.
In that case, just go prepared as earlier advised. From your reply your issue is not complicated, you did all you were suppose to do.maybe they just want to sight your receipts. most people that had similar scenarios like yours were issued the renewal.Best of luck!

hello house.. good day.i had my son in the US in 2015 and i applied for the drop box renewal to renew my visa for another missionary journey but after 2 weeks i was sent an email to pick up my passport at dhl and come for an interview. i was issued a form which stated 221(g). i have scheduled for an appointment. has anyone has this kind of issue before and how did it end ? please i need answers or ideas.. thanks
This in particular did not happen to me,but i have read of several people it happened to on this forum. Was your 2015 visa a medical visa, did you tell them during the interview that it was for child birth? If no, did you use it for the purpose for which it was issued before using it for child birth? If you are going to the US to give birth again just prepare as if you are going for normal fresh medical visa interview i.e. with Dr & hospital correspondent, budget sheet, bank statement etc and most importantly go with your receipts of 2015 .
And if you are going for just a visit,go with the normal things that accompany a b1/b2 visa interview eg bank statement, letter of invitation etc and again go with your 2015 receipt,it's importance cannot be over emphasised.
just be prepared ,it will end in praise.

Hello house,

Please I need clarification on a few things.

I had my first child in the US in the year 2015, I am now pregnant and will like to go on my second missionary journey. The issue is my visa will expire in July and I am due in September, my passport will also be expiring in September of this year as well.

Please house, what do I do in order not to have any issues.
You can handle it 2 ways.
1. You can renew your passport and travel with the visa in your old passport in July before the visa expires, but if you don't want to travel that early, you can explore the 2nd option
2. You can renew your passport and apply for a dropbox visa renewal and travel with the new passport and new visa

Hello all

Am a first time mum, and i want to go have my baby in USA, can any one provide advise on how to go about with the Visa process, does the fact that am pregnant and showing hinder my chances of obtaining a visa.
The 1st question is do you have enough money to sponsor this trip?,do you have evidence to show that you can afford this trip? Eg a good job,a bank balance that covers the amount on your budget sheet.
If yes, then you are good to go. It doesn't matter that your pregnancy is showing.
What matters is read this thread, take notes and prepare adequately and you'll be fine.

IT IS NOT A CRIME TO GIVE BIRTH IN THE US IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO PAY YOUR BILLS

Pls help a desperate pregalnant woman o. Biko
No it's not compulsory to pay your bills before you leave naija. If most of your money is in card, carry with you a print out of your account.
I don't know about an airline carrying a single mama with 2 LO's o,i don't think it's possible.
