Now you are talking.
Chamber2, what exactly is the problem though? The fact that people type "Ibo" or the fact that people pronounce it as "ibo"? Because if it's the latter, then the whole of Nigeria is guilty as charged. So, why attacking Yorubas then?

Babe! Yoruba women are beautiful, you have to hook me up with some, do alot of people tell you you are beautiful

Igwe H.S.O.F.N
Nah--- not really. People tell me I'm cute or pretty. I don't really hear "beautiful".

Yes, We are beautiful, even with the tribal marks. wink

You're Igbo right?

And you will think you are smart.Yorooobas always complicate issues. What is wrong in saying,''i used to be wrongly called Ibo,I am Igbo instead?''
lol--- Yh' I'm smart! It's ok if you want a national change darling. I've already given you a solution.

Seriously though, I personally, don't write/type "Ibo" instead of "Igbo" (maybe I have, a few times on this thread-- but I was just tryna pass a point across).  I pronounce is at ibo, though (like everyone else).

So technically, I'm not guilty of "the crime". And I don't have a problem with Igbo people. My ex-boyfriend is igbo, so-- smiley

The problem I have with this thread is --It's a waste of time! Nobody is gonna listen to you guyz, Trust me! So, why bother. And the unfortunate thing is that in the process, tribal insults and all that are being thrown around.

What is the issue about all these rant and blablabla spelling and mispelling saga to heat up the house again for goodness sake?

Why cant guys just for once stay out of all this stuffs of unecessary verbal confrontation on this site?

I cant really understand what is the problem of so many people are if Yoruba called "Igbo" as "Ibo" this to me is not sign of disrespect in anyway my parent are from the East based in South west many of my family and friends still pronounce "Yoruba" as "Yoruba" and the Yorubas are not angry or complaning about it or see it as sign of disrespect I dont know why my fellow Igbo man picking offence in this issue.

@ Justwise, Chamber2 and everybody supporting the change: I have a fast and effective solution for you guys's problem.

Start by writing a letter(s) to WAEC, NECO, JAMB---e.t.c, that a national correction needs to be made! Tell them to start deducting huge marks from students that write "IBO" instead of "IGBO" in their exams!  cheesy

Trust me, from there, the news will spread. NTA and AIT will "carry" the news about the new development. wink

Enough of this bullshit about "respect". Respect is not demanded, it is earned.  These divide amongst the Yorubas and ibos is why we have Nollywood and Yorobawood, running movies in Nigeria.

This was meant to be an educative/corrective post by our brother/sister JustCash, but has unfortunately turned out in large to be a showing of our innate tribal antagonisms.
It is rather disheartening and shameful that at this level (i want to believe that for we NLers that post/comment regularly) we condescend to shallow places and we say we're One Nigeria.
These inherent tribal friction is the major reason why this great nation is struggling and can't develop at the rate it's supposed to.  angry  embarassed  cry  sad
