The problem of the north is a cultural problem. That girl is most likely married possibly with children sef and over there once she is married she will be considered as an adult
So do we start registering our children here in the south too since their age mates are already considered as adults in the north.

Yet Lagos is still peaceful.

I wonder what would be happening in Lagos now if Lagos was in the North and Igbos were claiming Hausa land as no man's land.
Nothing will happen. LAGOS was capital of Nigeria, Kano had never been. BTW, an Igbo man is contesting for governorship position in Kaduna. They have never threatened him or his followers. But in LAGOS both yorubas and IGBO support Jimi, you bigots will come out and threaten the igbos.

Well said........I've never seen any ethnic group that is as tribalistic as the yorubas.......in most companies where the yorubas are at the helm of affairs, they make life difficult for the igbos there....no yoruba man would ever want the igbo man to thrive, yet they talk about being kind and good to the igbos.....they can tell that to the trees
Don't mind the s1lly idiots that will die of envy. Igbos will continue to progress and no body can stop that, the Grace is from God, if Yorubas don't like it they can jump into the lagoon with their Oba, period.

DTaj:
My perspective on this Oba Akiolu saga is this:

Can an Igbo man try this nonsense in Kano, Sokoto, Minna, Dutse, Kaduna? Never!

I have Igbo and Yoruba friends who grew up in Sabon-Gari in these northern states; they can never aspire to be local government councilor let alone get voted as Federal House of Reps members as Igbos have just done in Lagos in 2015 elections 2 weeks ago!

Can Igbos try this nonsense talk about 'Lagos is no man's land' in the North? Can Igbos ever claim ‘Kaduna is no man’s land’, despite its very cosmopolitan status like Lagos?

I don't blame them- I blame Tinubu for opening up Lagos to them! When you sart appointing an Igbo man as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, why won't his brothers start dragging ownership of the state with original owners?

Can the Igbos ever vote the Hausas who have been living in Asaba, Onitsha, or Aba since the 19th century? Never!

Igbos are dishing out what they can never take from other people in their own states!!!

Truth be told. Oba Akiolu messed up big time and should never have made the hate speech but Igbos shouldn't extend their luck too far!

I insist- Lagos is the most accommodating state in the entire country! It is only in Lagos that one sees Commissioners and Special Advisers of very critical ministries being occupied by non-indigenes! I'm Yoruba; in my state, no other Yoruba man from another state can even aspire to be local council councilor let alone get elected as a House of Reps member as have been done in Lagos! Someone will mention the history of how the person's fore-fathers migrated to the state! The entire Lekki property axis is dominated by Igbos! Igbo developers constitute over 80% of developers in Lekki corridor...What do Igbos want again from Lagos indigenes?

This entitlement mentality from our Igbo brothers and sisters is becoming irritating. Can a Yoruba man have this huge leverage in any state in the South-East? I know a lot of Yoruba people who grew up in Onitsha and Aba. Some of them have only visited their Yoruba states twice in their lifetimes (some as old as 50-60 years ); yet they are 2nd-class citizens in those Igbo cities! Yet, Igbos come to Yoruba land and poke their noses at their host communities.
PDP is playing with fire just for political expediency. No one knows when this fire that is raging will stop! I hope PDP will not cry foul when this fire they have started catches up with them in any of the states they control in the South-West in the future! This is in context with the stupid comments from Obanikoro (a Lagos Island man) and Ogunlewe, who also insulted the Oba of Lagos!

This is becoming a mob action! The amount of insult hurled on the Lagos Royal Stool, no matter the provocation, is way too much! No sane Igbo can ever do that to Emir of Kano, or Sultan of Sokoto! He/she would have been roasted alive!

Getting irritating...
That pooh your wrote up there is totally smelly, pedestal and stew.pid. If you so think you are doing too much for Igbos then let's divide the fvking fraud called Nigeria. The Oba has no right to threaten the Igbos. You claim you no Yorubas ago had lives in Aba for so long, has anyone ever threatened them into voting any candidate?
FYI there is no first or second class citizen in Nigeria, if you mentality makes you think like a secondly person, that is your cup of coffee. We are all Nigerians an we all have equal rights under the law, the only difference is that we have the poor, middle class and the rich. So wake up and stop writing trash to justify your hate for Igbos.

Well said, I wouldn't worry about the 'IBO' problem. Plans are in the works to rid Lagos of these parasitic cockroaches..
I honestly agree with u. Tinubu caused all this insult. You simply cannot invite the IBO into ur land and extend courtesy without them taking advantage...the north has a very good way of dealing with them..culling the herd..Yoruba should endeavour to do the same...
Nowhere else in Nigeria are the ibos welcomed. Given land to trade and live... Freedom to move about voted for! Only in lagos and south west...
I believe the 'Israelites' have grown too much in egypt(lagos)and this modern day Pharaoh must do as his forebears did...throw them into the Nile (lagoon).
Thanks for vomiting the bitterness you all have for the Igbos, it's good because it would choked you to death.

For your information, Yorubas don't dash out lands to Igbos, igbos buy land and build. The ladipo you boast about is heavily taxed that Igbos would has been better of if they bought the land to do their business which I know they can. However because o much tax and constant harassment by touts Igbos started moving to trade fair complex which is under the federal government & where they can have peace of mind. Other markets are all planning to move down to trade fair just because if the greed of your godfather tinubu. So asserting that Lagos did this or did that for the Igbos as if it was not paid for and still being paid for is totally wrong and cynically divisive of you. As we speak today, the popular Mandillas market have moved to trade fair complex, they now pay their tax direct to federal government. As we speak an Igbo man is cones ting for a governorship position in Kaduna state under APGA, so stop the rants. If we all continue to think they way you think then we are never going to be united. If you can have 1million Yorubas in Aba, that is enough to win them a rep seat in Aba under APC and nobody will do anything, but the fact remains that you people don't like leaving your Yoruba land and it's sad because you learn little or nothing about other tribes. My sister bought a house in Ago palace for 30 million and for her to do a total renovation she had to go and pay 4 million to the Oba and omonile, now what do you call that? Even to roof a house in Lagos or deck your building to add another floor you'll have to pay between 200,000 to 300,000 & what do you call that? Please let's stop all this divisive behavior as if Lagos is giving out free money to the Igbos. Let's try more to preach unity, you can't do anything to Igbo in Lagos, this is Nigeria if you try it you'll have yourself to blame. Enough said.
Politics › Re: Oba Is Right, APC Can Make Life Unbearable For Igbos In Lagos - Okorocha by babestella: 4:01am On Apr 09, 2015
I guess Rochas doesn't know that Igbo people's life had been hell under Fashola.
1. Igbo will buy land, he'll be denied c of o
2. Igbos are harassed on a daily basis in their business places
3. Fashola imposed a Yoruba chairman (who doesn't have even the smallest shop) on ladipo market and when Igbos protested, he shut the market for several weeks despite the huge tax these marketers pay.
4. What happened to tejuosho market?
5. We know what happens in Alaba international.
6. We know how he deported Nigerians in their very own state.

So Igbos have already see more than enough. Nothing new under the sun, so it is natural& logical for Igbos & other non-indigenes not to vote for Ambode. God bless you.

Politics › Re: Impeachment: Deputy Gov, Others Block Ekiti Assembly Entrances by babestella: 10:22am On Apr 07, 2015
drtwist:
APC is kinda funny. Ok if u impeached Fayose is it not a PDP member that will still b the governor( his deputy). Expect most of this lawmaker to lose their seat on friday putting an end to this impeachment story.
Don't mind them, they will all lose their seat this Saturday. Ekiti is cut out for Fayose and PDP, APC should grow up and stop this irrelevant tantrum. BTW, someone said why did 7 people impeach a speaker. You have a scenario where 19 law makers deliberately abandoned legislative function and were lodged in a LAGOS hotel for several months abandoning their job and the people they are supposedly elected to represent. They can't hold Ekiti to ransom the rest had to move a motion to impeach the speaker who was also on AWOL with the rest of his colleagues on the orders of Tinubu. So looking at this from that perspective, 7 people impeaching the speaker is not really out of place because they had to elect a new speak to move the state forward.

So basically, APC acted childishly with their kind of political tantrum and I think they should cut Fayose some slack and allow peace to reign.

Finally, they will not succeed in impeaching the governor, the state house might remain under lock and key even if it has to take 6 weeks for them to leave. It's all about politics.

Igbos are so dogmatic and this is their problem.

I have done business with them and i know how they reason like zombies(not all of them)

Imagine, for the first time we will be aligning with the federal power and the great projects that PDP have been preventing Lagos from executing will come to be talking about 4th mainland bridge, the lekki airport and many more.

Look her my igbo brothers, you are not and will never be lagosians and if anything bad happens to Lagos you will leave at once to your respective hometowns so think and pursue your own interest.

JK does not give a damn about you so stop your foolishness that has made you irrelevant in Nigeria for years. Use your brain and please ask that leader of the igbo group who lacks regard for the OBA of Lagos to go and apologize for daring an OBA else it will affect your brothers doing business in Lagos and may mark mass exodus of Igbos from Lagos.

A word is enough for the wise.

Why is the Oba so worried about the IGBO vote? even if Jimi wins, federal projects will still come to LAGOS because you have Tinubu up there. So why are you guys so worried? BTW we've had enough federal projects here. If you LAGOS wants 4th mainland bridge, let them do private sector partnership as they did on Lekki toll gate axis and put a toll on the road, they've done it on lekki Ikoyi link bridge. There are other states that need federal projects too, LAGOS has gotten enough.

This is the kind of trouble you get when you put a tribal regional party in power, no national interest at heart. Now you all want to align with federal to get more project, this is how selfish you all could be. Pity Nigeria.

Oh really? War chants and drums! Better take it easy oo coz I don't believe the Oba will apologise. If any of these people have a first hand war experience, they won't be heating the polity like this!

Oba is the monarch of lagos, he has to protect the interest of lagos first. The very many projects that will make lagos the number 1 city in Africa are underway by the APC government and he feels the igbos do not like and want this coz they don't want the yoruba region to be way ahead of them should nigeria break up (God forbid). You can only understand his frustration at any attempt to scuttle the advancement that has been witnessed in Lagos state in the last 16years.

Anyways I blame the PDP solely for this!!! The same strategy of divide and conquer that cost GEJ the presidency is what is being deployed in lagos by JK. PDP will never learn.
Please blame the Oba and stop blaming the PDP. I don't know how you people think at times. Which LAGOS interest is the Oba protecting, is election now a business transaction?, it's a democratic process and people have a choice to freely chose who leads them so please stop this crap thing you typed here.

Very correct, the bunch of illiterates we have in Nigeria will never know reason why the exchange rate went up sharply. Sadly it was in APC's campaign point that dollar went up because of GEJ policies.
