Techpaded: Nowadays, only few people make international calls due to the presence of Over-the-top (OTT) plays like Whatsapp, Skype, Wechat, Facebook, Viber and IMO. This caused a global revenue loss of $386 billion, from 2012 to 2018 for the telecoms operators. Hence, MTN, Airtel, GLO and 9Mobile are lamenting, urging the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to intervene and stop OTT services .
In opposition to this, I suggest that OTT plays should be left alone, because we users buy data from the Telcos to access services like WhatsApp, Skype, etc. While they are lamenting losses from voice/video calls, they are, on the other hand, jubilating from excess gains they make from data.

Denko2721987: Going by the sudden increased awareness on DNA tests for paternity verification in Nigeria, many Nigerian men/husbands are now more willing than ever before to undertake a DNA paternity test not minding its high cost just to verify the exact perternity of their kids arising from the growing realization that promiscuity (cheating) in marriages or relationships today which used to be mostly a man's affair/indulgence has now been massively adopted/initiated (i dont know if thats the right word to use now sef, lolz) by the women folk especially those in marriages due to many persons reasons and societal factors one of which is the negative artificial changes and alterations that we've allowed to penetrate our value and moral system to pollute/corrupt our natural societal, family and cultural norms and heritage all in the name of totally accepting the Western way of life and modernization (which has had its positives though)..
For these reasons, men are constantly living with the fear, mistrust and perception that the rapid proliferation in women's unfaithfulness especially in Nigeria today (this is subject to debate even though there are other indices to support this) might just mean that there could always be that lingering possibility that their kids (most commen scenario) and even their parents (less common scenario) which they have always believed for years was the flesh of their flesh and bone of their bones, might just turn out to be in reality the flesh and flesh/bone of bones of another man or parent which could just be a horrendous nightmare..
Now, i want to ask the Nairaland community today. Would you take a DNA pertenity test if it was offered to you for FREE This includes a perternity test for your own biological parents and for your own kids (you can specify which test you would preferably go for in your comments) irrespective of your gender even though i feel its a situation that seems to affect the men more than the women (they seem to frown so much at this idea of DNA paternity testing and i wonder why)..
So, this is my question this afternoon folks..
Good afternoon everyone..
Every Woman must knows the truth father of is or /her /son
bamisepeters: Our intention most times determines the success of our relationship, not what anyone says.
Like we know that it is never possible for two people who are blood related to stay with each other for little period of time without offending each other.
So also, it is paramount that we know that two who are not related by blood nor gender can never be together in the name of love and expect an offense-free relationship.
Personally, i feel when your partner go wrong it makes you know more about them and how to handle them in the future.
I understand there are some offense that are hard to forgive, but love knows no offense as it even forgives before any offense is committed.
I have heard, read and witnessed some extremely bad situations whereby the partners of those involved still overlooked the sin and moved on happily.
One thing i used to tell those who care to listen to the sense making relationship nonsense that i say or write especially when they need to forgive their partner is that it can be anyone's turn, and it can be the other way round the next minute because we are humans and not spirit.
In a relationship, which other offense is greater than seeing your partner whom you have sacrificed all for moaning in confirmation of a great sexual experience under someone else?
For your information, I have seen couples who still moved on together after the above happened.
Believe me, it is never easy to forgive one's partner after such experience, in fact, many people will tell you to even run as far as possible from such partner.
Most times you take some decisions on your own when it comes to relationship because other are blind when it comes to what you see in your partner as they don't know your desires and the point of attraction.
This is not about the sacrifice or desperate measures you've taken to sustain the relationship, but the love making you to be as foolish enough to see reasons why you must forgive your partner.
This post is not just about cheating, it can be anything else apart from cheating.
The fact is that offense and forgiveness is what makes many relationship or marriage to be as strong as they are.
Remember, you are not a perfect man, neither is she a better woman, we are all striving to be the best to our partner.
And as your partner is trying all to be better for just you, you need to be ready to give room for mistakes.
I don't want to give some of the examples I have witnessed so as not to look as if I am on the side of one gender, because to me we are all the same, what is good for one goose is good for another goose.
As I am preaching forgiveness, it should make us to try harder at achieving great union free of scandal and divorce which is rampant this days.
This should make those that cheat see reasons why they must stop as it harms the partner emotionally.
Those that abuse their partner physically and mentally should also stop as the pain inflicted on your partner is more than your understanding, don't take the spirit of forgiveness which accompanied the love for granted.
In case you don't know; the day your partner stops forgiving you is when they stop loving you.
Don't abuse the spirit of forgiveness, don't do it to the point that your partner will see nothing attractive in you anymore.
Love is blind they say, you may not be the one to share the experience when the blindness receives healing.
Bluestreams: Profile: 10yrs old Nlander, Postgrad, 32yrs old, 2 yrs old in marriage with a 1yr old son.
Pls kindly read patiently and advice me if I am wrong and also what to do if my spouse is the problem. Thanks.
I got married as the first child out of two and my family (mother) really supported me financially. At this time, I didnt have any salary job neither do I have any contracts running as I do pest control and landscaping services and other small legal hustles. I met my wife who is a civil servant and we fell inlove and I never hid my financial or employment status from her. Shortly before my wedding (I was also job hunting for a better job) I got an interview in a top oil and gas firm in the country by insider recommendation, and being the only one invited I felt I've gotten it. My fiancé started telling her sibs that I'm already a staff which I frowned at because I've not received any appointment letter. This she was doing in "faith" anyway. Subsequently, I was never called for that job again and by this time we were already married. Prior to this time, I got a slightly less than 50k job in a bank and after a few months my fiancé pressed me to resign athough that job was stressful and in another state where I neither had family nor friends.
We got married then the issues began. I noticed my wife is the type of woman thats slow (I'll not use the word lazy). She cant keep up with my pace when we walk, she can't clean the house daily, she'll prefer I do the house chores while she watches tv and all. We were in honey moon so I didn't have a problem with that, and more over I enjoy such chores and I am a good cook. By this time her salary was dropping and we were living on it coupled with whatever income that comes from me from my business (my wife isn't stingy with her funds and neither am I).
Our problems started when she became pregnant just a months after wedding. She became super slow due to the preggy and I had to do like every every due to the initial sickness and all. Also, I noticed my wife doesn't know how to talk to people. She isnt rude or insolent but she can argue blindly and just keeps talking. She talks too much and doesn't know how to ignore things. She will say she likes speaking her mind, even though I adviced her that she will have lots of enemies by that lifestyle.
My parents live in the same town with me but hers are in the village. If things gets a bit rough I do visit the family shop and pick things on credit and pay later. This happens only when I'm low on budget.
After our honey moon, my wife refused to go back to work (her station is in another state) although she has been complaining that she doesn't like the job (her father helped secure it). Since she couldnt travel she kept calling the offixe and they were still paying her, only for some of her seniors whom she isn't in good terms with write against her and her salary stopped coming in. By this time I had to up my game and started husting harder. God another low paying job which didn't last and I continued with my biz. I lost the job because of lateness due to taking care of a pregnant wife and so on. In fact I lost 2 other jobs of same nature and wasn't bothered because they pay was very poor anyway.
When my wife put to birth, my mother (as hers is late) asked her to stay at our family house for a week,so she can look after her because I was still working at this time and my mother's business and other engagements is just around the house, my wife refused. Infact its not the refusal that touched me but the attitude she put up. Shortly after then I needed to relocate to a new aprtment and asked her to go over to the family house with the baby so I can move things which she did and the outcome of that visit was a heated quarrel with my mother. She accused her of telling my church members not to visit her after childbirth (my house is very far from the church) and even though it was a lie and I told her to shut up she kept on talking so many trash.
At home I cant talk to my wife and she keeps quiet. The will tell me to shut up to my face and one one occasion I landed her a small slap which left an eye bloodshot and this ended the shutup episode. Often times, if I talk she will raise her voice.
Four months after my wedding her father called me sounding angry and asking me why my wife is still with me, why she hadn't gone back to the state where she works, I overlooked. Some months back late last year, he repeated the same thing and even dropped the phone on me and just a week ago it happened again. My wife have refused to go back to work saying she will rather start a particular type of biz (which I'm trying to setup for her) but her family is talking behind my back all manner of absurd things.
My wife and I have been having our own bouts due to her attitude. I don't talk to neighbours again as she confided in one and laid bare exclusive family secrets and they had a quarrel and in front of my landlord, my neighbour spilled the beans and I felt so ashamed. My wife's salary has been stopped for over a year now and I have been solely the bread winner. I even got a car recently and uses it for transport to support other income.
My wife can nag about everything, she can wake me by 3am over petty things so I stopped sleeping in our bedroom and now sleeps in the guest room. If she's angry she'll not wash plates I eat with. This is someone I always wash her clothes and my with the machine since I married her. But she can hardly do same. If she cleans the house its favour and she'll keep murmuring. If we have an argument she'll start shouting, abusing my whole family and stuff.
This morning we had a quarrel and my wife told me I cant even take care of my family to provide for her, talking how she's leaving (she always tells me she'll leave and I've made it clear I'll gladly wait for that day).
I have been thinking about everything myself, since I married things have not really improved. Maybe I really made a wrong choice or rushed things (as I now believe), so I am planning on sending her away soon and them take me dad and kinsmen to her father (as is the culture in my place) for him to either caution his daughter or take her back because I might really injure her out of anger one day.
This is my last effort to save this marriage . I have only slapped her once in 2 yrs. I feel I should seek matured advice from experienced people here as I know I might be right in my own eyes. I really don't know what else to do.
PS: I'll answer any questions you might ask me. Forgive any typo. Thanks.
Thanks u are a very good man you have tried your best for her to protect the marriage. But that's lady is very lazy girl she didn't want progress for you. After all later if you are continue with her she will be wast every day. Later she we not want to see anybody with you see will not allow you to marry any wife again. This one that doesn't want to see your parents besides u just for a week. Leave her alone with her lazy she will not change I have wach it thesame issues like this. She will not change till you become old age.
In a petition to the Lower Chamber, Jonathan urged the Federal Government to call the agencies to order.
The petition was presented at the House’s plenary by the lawmaker representing Okrika Constituency of Rivers, Rep. Bright Tamuno.
Presenting the document, Tamuno urged the house to wade into the matter in consideration of the sacrifices her husband, former President Goodluck Jonathan, made for the country.
According to him, no former first lady has been harassed like this before, and in view of the sacrifices that her husband has made for the country, the house should consider and call the security agencies to order.
In the petition, Jonathan alleged that the harassment was being orchestrated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and other agencies of the Federal Government.
The Speaker, Mr Yakubu Dogara, referred the petition to the Committee on Public Petitions for further legislative action.
The former first lady had petitioned the House on a similar in December, 2016.

olokeded: MMM-Nigeria, a group for mutual financial aid and donations on Monday organised a green party show in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to celebrate Nigeria’s Democracy Day.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the party, which held at the Millennium Park, was opened to members of the group and non-members alike.
Mr Seyi Bello, the President of Abuja Guiders Forum of the MMM-Nigeria said the gesture was part of solidarity by the group for Nigeria’s 18-years of uninterrupted democracy.
“This party is put together to celebrate our Democracy Day and since Nigeria’s flag is green-white-green, we decided to call it ‘green party’ as a mark of solidarity.
“We invited everyone to be a part of this event because friendship and unity is what this community of mutual help represents.
“As a community, we do not only provide help to our members, we also extend that to the larger society as part of our social responsibility,” he said.
Musicians, comedians and other entertainers in the territory performed at the event.
Bello explained that over three million Nigerians were members of the group.
He explained that contrary to some people’s opinion about the scheme, its a community of people providing financial help to each other on the principle of reciprocity and benevolence.
“That is what defines us as a community of people providing financial help to each other on the principle of reciprocity and benevolence.
“In MMM, there are no lenders and no debtors. One participant asks for help, another one helps.’’
He therefore called on leaders at all levels to deliver basic dividends of democracy to Nigerians, adding that the current recession was affecting ordinary Nigerians.
“As we celebrate democracy, let our leaders remember that we need change in all aspects of our lives,” he said.
Mavrodi Mondial Movement (MMM) is a Ponzi scheme, which was revived early this year after freezing participants’ accounts for a month in December 2016.

obafemee80: Every Prophet sent by Allah was given miracles and signs. These miracles depended on which people that particular prophet was sent to, what they believed in and the sort of things they would understand.
Prophet Yunus was swallowed by a whale and he survived. Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) survived the blazing fire that his people threw him into. Prophet Musa (pbuh) had a walking stick that could turn into a serpent, and he used it to split the Red Sea in two. Prophet Jesus (pbuh) could raise the dead and cure the blind, and he also spoke from his cradle. Of course these miracles were done under the commandment of the Supreme Being, God. But did you know that the seal of Prophets, Muhammed (pbuh) also performed miracles? Here are some fascinating ones:
#1. Invisibility
When the Prophet (pbuh) planned to migrate to Medina, the tribes in Mecca conspired to assassinate him once and for all. Each tribe sent an assassin and they surrounded the house of the Prophet (pbuh) that night. But the Prophet (pbuh) walked out right in front of them and none of them saw him. They were blinded to him.
#2. The camel in the sand incident
The Prophet and Abu Bakr (peace be upon them) were on their way to Medina when they were being followed by an assassin named Suraqa. When Abu Bakr got worried, the Messenger (pbuh) told him, “Don’t be sad; Allah is certainly with us.” Then he (pbuh) cast a glance at Suraqa and his horse’s feet became stuck in the sand. Suraqa managed to get the feet of the horse but when he tried to follow the Prophet (pbuh), his horse’s legs got stuck again and smoke was coming from where the sand. Suraqa realized this was beyond him and had to go back. #3. Talking with the Jinn
In one narration, a jinni called “Hama” came in the form of an old man carrying a staff; he accepted Islam. The Noble Messenger (PBUH) instructed him in some of the short chapters of the Qur’an, which he listened to and then departed.” #4. Water flowed from his blessed hands
Once the Prophet was with his companions, about 300 of them in a place called Zawra. It was time to observe the afternoon prayer but the people could not find any water to make wudu. They Prophet ordered them to look for little water, when they did, he dipped him hands into it and water was flowing from his hands like a fountain. All three hundred people who were there made wudu and used it for other needs.
#5. The night journey (Isra) and ascension (Miraj)
This is one of the most amazing miracles of the Prophet (pbuh). It is called Al Isra wal Miraj. It was the night that the Prophet (pbuh), under the guidance of archangel Gibril (pbuh) travelled the Kaaba in Makkah to Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem and then to the sky, to the high realms and to the presence of God. On this journey, he met the Prophet before him including Musa (Moses), Isa (Jesus) and Ibrahim (Abraham). He led them in prayer. He reached a very high place where he could hear the pens writing people’s deeds. He saw heaven and hell. And he (pbuh) was elevated, and he met his Lord, the Magnificent, and the merciful. This incident is narrated in the holy Quran and hadith.
#6. The moon split
The polytheists at the time of the Prophet (pbuh) keep insisting that they wanted a miracle. They said they will believe if The Prophet (pbuh) could show them the splitting of the moon in half. When Allah granted the Prophet the ability, he called them all to witness, and the moon split in two. And indeed it was a clear manifestation. But in their arrogance, they still rejected the truth. This incident is also narrated in the Holy Quran.
#7. The lifeless objects and animals communicated with the Prophet (pbuh)
On several occasions, trees, stones, mountains and sand would greet the Prophet (pbuh) when he passed. Once, a Jew roasted a goat, filling it with a very strong poison. She then sent it to God’s Messenger (PBUH). But before the Prophet (pbuh) touched the food, the goat spoke to him and informed him of the poison. So he told everyone to abstain from the food.
#8. The dead affirmed the Prophet-hood of Muhammed (pbuh)
In one narration, one of the companions of the Prophet (pbuh) suddenly dropped down dead in the marketplace. The people took his body to his house. That evening between sunset and the night prayer, while the women were weeping all around him, the corpse exclaimed: ‘Silence! Silence!’ Then he said: ‘Muhammad is God’s Messenger! Peace be upon you, O Messenger of God!’ He spoke so eloquently for a while that the people had to uncover him to check. But he was really dead. #9. Food galore
The Messenger of Allah fed more than a hundred people from very small food. Whenever he placed his blessed hands on any food, he caused it to increase and everyone could eat to their fill and still have left over. In one narration, he (pbuh) fed more than a hundred men from one cup of milk. Each person would drink to his fill and pass to the next without refilling. And each of the men drank to their satisfaction, and the cup was still filed with milk as though it was never touched. #10. The Prophet could heal the sick
In one narration, one of the companions was hit by an arrow in his eye. The arrow was so deep it was sticking out at the back of his head. The Messenger (pbuh) placed his hands over the eye and it healed.
The greatest miracle of Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) is the Quran. But that is an entire discussion in its own and we will look into that some other time In Sha Allah.
ShoProperties: Protect Your Right to Your Land with a Deed As a landowner, you should have a deed to your property. A deed is a piece of paper which shows that you own your land.1 The deed gives you title to your property and title governs your legal right to your land. Every time property is sold, willed, or given to another person, a new deed must be written and registered. This should be done by a lawyer. In the deed, the person buying or inheriting the land is called the grantee and the person selling, willing, or giving the land is called the grantor. If you own land, make sure you have a deed for it.
A. FEATURES OF A DEED Every valid, legal deed must include the name of the grantor, the name of the grantee, and a description of the land and its boundaries. The deed must also state that the property is being passed to a new owner. For example, "I hereby convey my land to Mr. X to have and to hold...." In Nigeria a conveyance of land is legal when: (1) it is in writing (like a deed);
(2) the grantor signed the deed and fully understands what he/she is doing with the property; (3) the deed is accepted by the grantee or his/her agent; (4) the description of the property in the deed is specific enough that the property can be identified. (5) If you are buying a piece of property and you sign a contract for sale before you sign a deed, the seller might make several promises in the contract. For instance, the seller might say in the contract that he or she guarantees you will not have any boundary problems. You must make sure that these promises also appear in the deed. If they do not, then those promises will be lost. (6) In other words, the deed, not the contract, defines which legal rights you have. You should also make sure that the description of the land you are buying is the same in the contract as it is in the deed. A lawyer can help you with these matters.

donmayorgroup: Why You Should Know your Genotype Before Considering Getting Married
A lot of Medical doctors and marriage counselors advise that couples who are about to get married should go for specific medical tests before tying the knot. While this is very important, many couples don't heed this advice for fear of probably incompatible results, especially as regards their haemoglobin genotype, emerging to become a reason for not getting married after such a long and deep emotional investment into each other (it can be very heart-breaking and some people might go into depression that would require psychiatric care if they're compelled to cut off the relationship and marriage after such a long time of planning about their future together).
Instead of waiting till you meet that special half with whom you will spend your lifetime before realizing the importance of such specific medical tests, why not go for these medical tests now that you're probably single or have not met that special someone yet?
Whether you're a man or woman, you should undergo a haemoglobin genotype test now before you meet your lifetime partner when it might either be too late or the outcome of your incompatibility could drive you into a mental breakdown.
The Importance of knowing your Haemoglobin genotype
There are several disease variants of the haemoglobin gene, but the commonest ones are haemoglobin S and C. The normal haemoglobin gene present in adult humans is A which exist as AA.
However, some people have the A and S pairing as AS; some have the S and another S pairing as SS which is known as sickle cell disease; and a few people have S and C pairing to form SC which is also as bad as SS.
If your haemoglobin genotype test comes out as AS, SS or SC, it means you can give birth to a child with SS if you marry someone who is AS or SS. For instance, if a man with AS marries a woman with AS, one in every 4 children they have will be SS. But that's probability in theory. In reality that one child could be the first child; and that one child in every 4 children could manifest as 4 children in every 16 children, meaning the first 4 children can be SS and the couple has to give birth to more than 10 children to stand a chance of having a child who is either AA or AS!
Thats huge!!
Taking care of a child who is SS can be a nightmare especially for couples who don't have the financial capacity; and even for those with the financial resources, the child may still die from a crisis or complication that can occur when nobody expects it. Hence, knowing your haemoglobin genotype before entering a relationship that could lead to marriage will enable you talk about it with your partner, and if you're incompatible, the possibility of marriage can easily be ruled out at this early stage of the relationship, unlike when you're getting to know your haemoglobin genotype after proposal and the wedding is a few weeks away!
