So is a Nigerian Actress. They all have to share the name in google.

Genevieve (Film) 9,100,000 results

Genevieve Nnaji 3,590,000 results

Common bro... give up

Thandie Newton has 4,210,000 results while Genevieve has 3,740,000 and that's because a lot of Nigerians and Africans are not on the internet like Americans and europeans else Genevieve's google results will rank higher than Thandie's. Another thing is that, a lot of people on the WWW simply refer to Genevieve Nnaji as "Genevieve". So, if we were to add the results of "genevieve" in Nigeria's webosphere, the results combined with that of "Genevieve Nnaji" will dwarf that of Thandie Newton.

One of the best British movie ever is called Genevieve

Call it scrap metal if you wish, there are tons of metro authorities using (constantly maintaining) such types of "scrap metal" including the famous U.S. known Amtrak. Other then the NE corridor line, all other line representing more than 70% traffic uses that "scrap metal". NY subway used the same good ole "scrap metal", their aged flee was more than 40 years old until few years ago when they replaced a good portion of it. I can go on and on, but you're welcome to call it any name you wish, if it moves people and goods, and makes revenue, it may not be the best, but it's affordable for the poor.

You want to compare other countries maintenance culture to Nigeria's Look the London Underground before they were upgraded recently they were using fleets from the late 60s to early 70s. Arik that was commissioned in 2008/09 have you seen their planes? I would ask again with our maintenance culture how many years do we expect to get out of those scrap metals?

Wasn't there a derailment in Spain last week? Were they using 100 years old trains? Do you honestly believe that NRC trains are 100 years old? Do you know what is at Ebute-Metta? Did you see the J5 train?

That train was over speeding

Rail condition can cause derailment, look i work in a train depot... Am sorry a crack on a rail at a bend could cause a derailment

naptu2: The journey of a thousand miles begins with a first step. When you take that first step, others will see that you are serious and they will come and assist you.

Yes, NRC is using locomotives, but the trains are no longer dormant. . .they are working and guess what

General Electric has set up shop in Cross River State to build train engines and coaches. We will get modern trains and coaches that are built in Nigeria. They did this because they can see that the government is serious about reviving the railway services.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a first step.

I believe the Nigerian Railway Corp is 100 years old.

If you have seen a derailment before you wont be talking like this...

When the government said cars over 8 years should not be shipped to Nigerian didnt Nigerian adapt to it

half of a yellow sun movie targets hollywood audience. chimamanda would have given the story to zeb ejiro if she wanted it to be a nollywood movie starting genevieve and nkiru sylvanus. in the global stage, genevieve cannot compete with thandie newton - that is not to say genevieve is not relevant but thandie would fetch more dollars for the producers than genevieve!

And she is a far better actress!

This a case of doing with what u have, 90% Nigerians can't pay the fare if modern trains are deployed on those tracks or do u expect to ride in it for free?.

So you accept mediocre?

Perfect case of someone been brainwashed by our leaders! Just like cloths been donated for Charity. Igbo boys would bring them to Nigeria and sell it (boss-corner) or Bend down boutique! The fact here is that the Government could afford it but since People like you accept mediocre things it gives our leader the option to bring home scrap metals.

Common men, its bad enough Dana Air killed 150+ people in a plane over 30 years old now a train fleet that's meant to be consigned to the scrap yard!

Why do black people always accept and rejoice to mediocre or average things! Its true when they say we get the leaders we deserve! I bet the trains were due to be recycled before our leader showed up and asked for them! our people would kiss our butt if we shine this in their faces....

Am sorry Nigeria makes enough money to buy brand new train fleet

How many people know Thandie Newton in Africa? The only thing that you can tell me is that Thandie Newton has more global appeal though not that popular. She's not Angelina Jolie for crying out loud.

Please tell me when Nollywood got a grip of Africa? 3yrs 4yrs or 6yrs am talk when they started export Nollywood movies out to the rest of Africa?

Yes she is not Anegina Jolie, where as Genevieve is Gabrielle Union

Genevieve is bigger than Thandie Newton in terms of popularity even though Genevieve's popularity is limited to Africa and Africans in the diaspora. A lot of people except Hollywood buffs don't know Thandie Newton. She's not a Halle Berry for crying out loud. She's just one of those Actors that have had a few lead roles but their names are not household.

Am Laughing in Swahili! Tell me today is not 1st of April?

Thandie is more popular than Genevieve ON EVERY CONTINENT!!!! Common men the whole of the South African region region Both Thandie and Theron as ICONS, The Cricket world cup in Zimbabwe, come and see her popularity. Am sorry but just because someone churns out movies on a daily basis wouldnt make them popular. Crash, Mission Impossible, 2012, beloved, for coloured women, run baby run etc these are BLOCK BUSTER movies..

The main fact that you said black people know of Genevieve more than Thandie punches a hole into all of your comments you have placed here!!! Comparing Genevieve to Thandie is like comparing Mikel Obi to Iniesta, they are not in the same league.

Do you know what it takes to go from an English Cockney accent to a southern American 16Th century accent? Lets see Genevieve speak in an Ibadan accent

I know - but she had other commitments. However, is there any other naija actress on Thandie's level in Hollywood? Bear in mind that people sponsored the movie and they're looking to make profits as well - hence why they went for the big names.

Sophie isn't Tutsi but Rwandans never complained about her role in Hotel Rwanda.

Thank you NO ONE (including the Rwandans) didnt complain

Morgan Freeman sounds nothing like an Afrikaan in Invictus, Matt Damion sound nothing like an Afrikaan and looked nothing like Francios Pienaar but the South African didnt complain

Ben Kingsley playing Ghandi

Madonna playing Evita

Checks and balance indeed! Was Wole Soyinka not in the country wen President Obasanjo's administartion was on? The wife of OBJ did same too, as to wat Mrs. Jonathan, why was WS so mute, why was he not granting/ abusing the late Stella? @ as den, or was he playing politics of region, as he is always known for. Or are u going to tell me that OBJ's administation too was a military regime.

Comparing the Late Stella to UMBLELLA (PEJ) is like Comparing Barcelona to Enugu Rangers

You and I know wen you throw words at woman, wat do you expect the woman to do @ first, lets say it is a real life suitation! Offcourse, she will definately lash back @ you, and dat was exactly wat Mrs. Johathan hv done, ( you can take dat away frm a woman) due to the fact that she is a public figure, and surrounded by special advisers, she has to follow protocols, by listen to her advisers,
Mr. Wole Soyinka too the first shot, she replied, then follows WS, she never replied, thirdly, WS replied again...... She never replied, haba! Wat does that tell u?

Tell me what are the duties of a special adviser? Are they the once to advise on road closure? Dats is her own personal decision to make, perhaps as a result of security reasons, perhaps other wives of presidents hv done dis in the past, same goes for Obama's wife wen she visited Dubai, Spain name it, security reasons somtime warrant such to happen who knows.....

They called Margaret Thatcher all the horrible names on the earth because she imposed some serious laws! she didnt flinch she carried on and ignored the jibes coming at her, she didnt lash out like a banshee! She was thick skinned.

The Abacha regime was a military regime, enforced by the power of the gun, no freedom of speech no right to liberty! guess what happen to Ken Saro Wiwa when he spoke out! But this is a democratic government that requires check and balance..
