Actually the 2003 / 04 season Eto was at a small club (Captained) Real Majorca leading them to Copa del Rey final and won it, summer of 2004 he joined Barcelona and he was Barca's main striker, his last season for Majorca in 04 he scored 21 goals. |

emmasege: Was Eto'o better than Okocha in 2004 when the former won Africa's best?. Okocha far outplayed him and was better than Eto'o as at 2004 when Eto'o had not yet peaked. But at the end of the day, it went the way of the Camerounian. In 2004 Eto was Barcelona player, Okocha was a Bolton Wanderer player in the EPL, even lost the league cup final to Middlesboro. The Confederation Cup Nigeria won one game against the worst team, look forgive me but I dont celebrate Average or mediocre performance. Yaya Toure has been a monster since January to Date. So because Yaya Toure was absent from a tournament automatically disqualifies him from an award. Just like messi was present at Euro 2012 |

Moses won the fair play award and finals man of the match he didnt win player of the tournament Jonathan Pitroipa the Burkinabé footballer won it But Toure is light years ahead of Mikel, even if you listen to how Jose Mourinho describe Yaya Toure on saturday, its like calling Yaya a monster of player and current captain of City in the absence of Kompany, Mikel has been on the bench for Lampard and Ramires. He lacks the X-factor Yaya Toure could hit a 30 yard screamer out of the blue, or a 70 yards power run with the ball... |

A-40: Vettel victory in Italian GP back in 2008 it has an explanation. First of all Vettel was very talented but I think that he still had a few weaknesses back then, which by now he had managed to resolve. It was a wet race, including qualifying and we know that on these conditions we can see many surprising results, Perez nearly won last year Malaysian GP, only Alonso's driving skill negated him. Kovalainen could had beaten Vettel at Monza but you can't rely on him when you need to put something special. If I remember well all the STR and RBR cars managed to qualify in the top five-sixth, so they were pretty much suited to the conditions but neither of their drivers were as good as Vettel. I have to add that prior to 2010 the STR's were designed by Newey as well and back then (2008) he lamented about the deficiencies of the Renault engine, compared to the Ferrari on the back of the STR's. After that Renault asked the FIA for a temporary unfreeze rule for the Renault engine in order to recover some of their deficit for 2009 and onwards. I remember Newey saying that his chassis has a lot of potential and if tailored around the Ferrari engine, they can fight with the teams ahead of them. By half season he concentrated on the development of STR and they managed to beat RBR at the end of the season and to win in Italy. Vettel drove very well (especially compared to Bourdais) that season, it was clear that he was a mercurial talent. I posted that to explain how STR managed to beat RBR that year, and it wasn't all about Vettel's talent. But in the rain Coulthard(RBR) and Vettel(STR) managed to get a podium once in 2008. But for most of the season the midfield was pretty much close, but some way behind Ferrari, McLaren and BMW Sauber, until Renault managed to join them at the end of the season. In 2008, all the teams got into the podium except FI, even Barrichello in the poor Honda RA108 got a podium in a rain soaked race, or Piquet Jr finished 2nd in the semi-chaotic german GP, or Glock in the Hungarian GP. That season opened many chances for all the drivers and Vettel was one of the drivers which delivered. This one isn't like 2008. Whatever a driver does is impossible to get a podium unless you are driving one of the top four teams. As I said Vettel performed very well in 2008, finishing 8th on the standings after the drivers of the top three teams and Alonso. To add something about 2008, Hamilton, Massa and Raikkonen were the only drivers which won races that year without neccesitating special conditions(like rain) or benefiting from rivals bad luck and capitalising on it(it doesn't mean that they didn't deserved their victories). Kubica won in Canada because the SC was deployed(remember SC rules at the time) and Hamilton crashed on Raikkonen at the pitlane. Kovalainen won because Hamilton's tyre and Massa's engine blew. Vettel won because of the rain and the bad luck of Hamilton in qualifying. Alonso won because of the crashgate in Singapore and because Hamilton messed up the field at the first corner in Japan. As for the topic, Hamilton didn't had necessarily the best car in 2008. I think that Ferrari was stronger. But Massa wasn't consistent in the first half of the season, and Raikkonen form dropped badly in the second half. Lewis did a better job than them so he won the title. But I still congrat Vettel because he drove a flawless drive. 17/03 Grand Prix of Australia YOU 24/03 Grand Prix of Malaysia YOU (if it rains Friend) Right 14/04 Grand Prix of China FRIEND 21/04 Grand Prix of Bahrain YOU Right 12/05 Grand Prix of Spain (Barcelona) FRIEND 26/05 Grand Prix of Monaco YOU 09/06 Grand Prix of Canada YOU Right 16/06 Grand Prix of Jersey (New York) * TBA 30/06 Grand Prix of Great Britain YOU 14/07 Grand Prix of Germany FRIEND 28/07 Grand Prix of Hungary YOU Right 25/08 Grand Prix of Belgium FRIEND 08/09 Grand Prix of Italy FRIEND 22/09 Grand Prix of Singapore YOU Right 06/10 Grand Prix of Korea YOU Right 13/10 Grand Prix of Japan YOU Right 27/10 Grand Prix of India YOU Right 03/11 Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi FRIEND 17/11 Grand Prix of USA (Austin) FRIEND McLaren should have been in the mix up only for McLaren to change the drive rod from push to pull (rumour Jenson Button's advice) because last years Macca was one of the fastest cars |

laidthrice: That's so not true, a merc keep its forms @ all times, but you see a honda car and toyota car wrinkle and loose body shape, you can neva compare a merc to a toyota! Its like comparing a concorde jet to a sesna aircraft. Mercedes Benz suffer from rust or corrosion I'm not proud to have to post this but over the past few years I've noticed many MB cars here in the Northeast US with rust which I consider unacceptable. The W202, 203, 210 and 220 seem to be particularly rust prone. I really love Mercedes cars as I was practically born into them. I've driven nothing else all my life except for a BMW during my college years. I've put over 500,000 miles on Mercedes automobiles. I'm particularly proud of an 800,000 mile 220D which I successfully drove cross country and back with no breakdowns. I'm also proud of a 450SEL which was driven to 330,000 miles with absolutely no engine work except for a timing chain replacement. I still have a 1971 220 bought new by my parents. This car is in pristine shape. I am still the proud owner of mostly older cars: 1958 300d, 1963 220SEb coupe, 1971 220, 1971 280SL, 1973 220D, 1982 240D and a 2005 G500. I am however very hesitant to purchase anything new or newer from Mercedes based upon what I consider a pretty bad rust track record. It's too early to tell what the W204, 212, 221 etc models will do and honestly I'm not sure I want to find out. I would really like to continue to buy Mercedes cars but some reassurance would be necessary. Where I would get the reassurance I don't know!! Here are some pictures I've taken over the past few months to illustrate my point. These are not what I would consider fluke occurrences as I've seen many, many more such cars which I did not photograph. These cars have rust everywhere - not just one isolated panel which could be attributed to poorly done bodywork. All these photos were taken in Massachusetts

addictiv: german cars are stronger, meaner, more efficient , and timeless when compared to Japanese cars Japanese car industry uses less raw materials to make a car, thats why you hardly see a Japanese car that rust, you are more likely to see rust on a Merc than a Honda 1 Like |

omonnakoda: Thank you!!! I mentioned yesterday that the highest selling Volkswagen car is the Golf, this shows where the company targets, the small car industry. VW is way bigger that Merc and BMW. The VW Golf still struggles to compete in the small car industry against what Nissan, Toyota or Honda has to produce over the last 30 years. |

omoeso: Enough said... Now you guys should ask yourself this simple question, why do so many multi-millionaires/billionaires use german cars. Also, notice most presidents and head of states prefer german cars as official cars. Very simple....absolutely un-comparable! The luxury car market is dominated by the German car industry The Sport car / 2 door / Coupe market is dominated by Japan |

Siena: Am not saying they had a joint collaboration, BMW didnt want to develop their own technology, buying Rover Group PLC was a short cut into the 4x4 and small car industry! Honda owned, 20% stake in Rover, but felt betrayed by BAe by selling Rover to BMW instead of Honda, that's when Honda pulled out of Rover. And thats when BMW changed the Rover 600 series with the Rover 75 model BMW buying Rover Group PLC gave them a huge advantage the X5 is built from Land Rovers technology |
