Phones / Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by BadMaster: 11:21pm On Feb 14
easyyoke:

What is the current speed you are getting. Starlink speed dropped globally because most satellites are now at full capacity(They now have millions of customers as opposed to when they first launched). Which is why they have been relentlessly launching satellites to space back to back. I was getting 250Mbps February last year when I first got the it, then it dropped to 50Mbps for some months, now it is up to 120Mbps. So far, your dish is not blocked by any obstacle or tree and you have clear line of sight, the large mast base station around you does not affect you. This is a satellite technology. It is not a Wifi/LTE technology. Starlink speed dropped globally but has been going back up. 120Mbps is still crazy fast for me
The emboldened statement is funny to me. Kindly read my initial comment again. You can't possibly know better than Starlink's technical support who checked on their system and informed me that I am experiencing high level interferance.

It's funny how you can make bold claim of something you know nothing about. One would think you work for Starlink or you helped in designing the Starlink system itself. Kindly refrain from making blanket statements on things you have zero direct knowledge of. No offense meant, by the way.

Like I said earlier, I am simply passing information.

Phones / Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by BadMaster: 10:44pm On Feb 14
So, I have been using Starlink since February last year, and it was excellent. I use to get speeds up to 300Mbps+. After moving to a new location, I observed that my speed really tanked. In fact, I have not seen 200Mbps. Initially, I thought my dishy or cable was faulty, so I asked Starlink support to carry out checks on my kits for confirmation. Starlink support reverted back to me after thorough checks(according to them), informing me that my dishy and cable are in excellent conditions, however, I am experiencing extremely high level interferance. They then asked me to capture my installation and my immediate surrounding. I did as advised.

The thing is, I live directly under a large mast/base station. According to Starlink, the base station is the culprit, and there's little to nothing I can do to improve Starlink service. Though I could try to move the dishy around my roof, but given the proximity, it would probably not change anything.

This is for your information only. In case anyone is experiencing similar challenges.

This is confusing, anyone know why some people can order from Lagos while others are being told the capacity is temporarily full in Lagos and stuck in pre order stage?
Like the poster above said, it depends on the location. Most of Lagos metropolis have reached capacity.

Go through the Starlink map for more clarity.

The kind of nonsense happening in Kano and no one is condemning it, is preposterous. It's ridiculous.

Celebrities / Re: Davido's Aide Slaps A Fan For Getting Too Close (Video) by BadMaster: 9:57pm On Feb 13
PHAYOL81:

OF course, CR7 allows autograph everytime but that's always with his consent. Go figure, the fan(s) usually ask for permission beforehand, not irrationally trying to invade their space. That's why these stars have the bouncers around them anywhere they go because they don't love intrusion into their space. You only get close when permitted (whether there's barricade or not).
IF they're not in the mood for autograph, press brief or whatever, you can't force yourself on them. The usual result is what happened to that fan. You'll be embarrassed.

I guess you don't even know what trespass entails. The moment he was forcing his way to close on Davido, he's already trespassed boundary and even transgressed. He wasn't permitted to come that far and the bouncer acted in defence (his job)to forestall unforeseen tragedy because he didn't know the intention of the said fan.
Another idiotic comment. So, the best and only way to forestall unforseen tragedy is to hit the fan on the face. In a saner society, Davido would pay through his nose to compensate that guy.

If you have anyone outside Lagos, try using their address to order, then you change to your own address, that's how I sub after canceling though. Just saying
Ibawon, this isn't a good advise. As far as I know, once your location or your Starlink hexagonal map reaches capacity, there's no way to change your service address to any address within that hexagonal map, unless outside of it, which doesn't always work.

In fact, the error below is what you will get if you try doing so.

I still sold Dollars at above N1400 today.

While the mumu are buying dollars, some are selling it off.

Those mumu will soon by handed N500 for the Dollars they are stockpiling at a conversion rate of over N1000, inside their Nigerian bank accounts.
Maybe there was a time you could deceive some people with this nonsense postulations. Well, not anymore. This government has proven to be useless, and nothing good can come from this government.

Before you call me ipob and sort of names, check my posts before and after the 2023 elections, I supported Tinubu because I thought he knew how to turn this country around. It's now obvious that he is very clueless.

Do you know what it means by a location reaching Capacity? It means you can't use your address as a service address with Starlink no matter where you get your Starlink from.

Same here. Looks like if it's pre order you might not be getting it soon. I messaged support and they couldn't help me since it's pre order.

I am now considering buying from black market
If your location has reached capacity and Starlink has rightly informed you so, why would you go ahead to buy from the Black market? How does that resolve your location challenge?

I see so many idiots defending this move by Dangote. What happened to all the crude oil we have been producing and still producing? Why isn't Dangote getting from our own crude oil? Why is he importing from far away US?

And some fools actually believed Dangote refinery would make petroleum products cheaper. Isn't it idiotic to think it would be cheaper when he is importing for refining? Moreover, this would further deplete our US dollar reserve.

This country is useless.
