FashionRe: Here Are The 8 Things That Defined You As A Fashionista In The 90s by BaesDiary(op): 8:19pm On Jun 03, 2017
5. Bandana
This head piece was something we all fell in love with. EVERY Fashionista in the 90s had this. Its a rectangular or squared shape piece that came in a variety of colors. It is also worn on the neck or wrist. A Fashionista's wardrobe wasn't complete without a Bandana.

6. Kito Trekkers / Slippers

Let me say it this way - A Fashionista that doesn't own a pair of Kito, is that one a Fashionista? If you didn't own either a pair of Kito trekkers or slippers, you were not ready to join the fashion gang.

7. Number tops

Both male and female Fashionista rocked number tops in the 90s. Number tops looked real nice on flared jeans.

8. Dungarees
This apparel made a lot of sense in the 90s. Dungaree wasn't gender-specific, and usually worn over a top. Although it is not limited to a particular material, most fashionista rocked the jean dungaree the most.

Dear BAE'S DIARY Readers, did we miss out anything? Tell us in the comment box.

FashionHere Are The 8 Things That Defined You As A Fashionista In The 90s by BaesDiary(op): 8:09pm On Jun 03, 2017
Once upon a time in the 90s, when there were no slay Queens, or Instagram boys, there were only Fashionistas - people who just wanted to look real cool and good. I remember how the fashionista rocked their worlds. If you didn't have / do the following fashion items / styles, you were definitely not a 90s fashionista....

1. Flared Jeans

Flared jeans has been in existence in the fashion world from way back. However, people rocked this piece of clothing a lot in the 90s. How can you be a Fashionista without owning pairs of flared jeans. Flared jeans were the go-to jeans for that beautiful look. Both genders rocked this piece.

2. Mono-strap bags
If you didn't rock this bag in school, then you were not "big". My friends and I all bought this bag to show off. And trust me, this bag had a way of making people 'respect' your fashion sense.

3. Skin hair cut
Before then, the art of chopping all of a man's hair was something that looked so aweful. All of a sudden, the style became something unique. Ladies wanted men who had this 'gorimapa' hair cut, and the men in turn followed the trend.

4. Cat Walking
If you didn't know how to do the cat-walk in the 90s, you were not definitely not yet a lady. If you wanted to belong to the class of the fashionista, the way you carry yourself goes a long way.

TheeDetective:
Abi o; sometimes I wonder when some men say some women can be so annoying to warrant putting their hands on them and injuring them in the process. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS NOT THE WAY FORWARD. My questions to such men are;
If their boss or work colleague in their office were to be annoying would they put their hands on them?
If they run their own business and their business partner or employee were to be annoying would they put their hands on them?
If they were conversing with their male friends and they subsequently become annoying would they put their hands on them?

Rather than them to leave the environment and wait for things to calm down first, they use their fist as the talking tool and forget that fighting doesn't do any good to anyone and before a fight ensures, they should have removed themselves and wait for the brouhaha to calm down.
You are on point!
FamilyBroken Eye Socket And Knocked Teeth – Lady Shares Her Story Of Domestic Violence by BaesDiary(op):
Domestic violence is on the rise. We really don't understand the reason for this act. You physically assault the woman whom you vowed to love for the rest of your life, and think that's the best way to vent your anger or punish her. REAL MEN DON'T BEAT WOMEN, IRRESPECTIVE OF WHATEVER! It's sad that some women are still managing, still enduring this torture from their spouse.

An instagram user, @marea.cache shared on her page, how she was physically abused and how she managed to leave the relationship.

Here is what she wrote on Instagram,

"A year ago Today My life was Almost taken from me! This wouldn’t have been the first traumatic situation I’ve been through but by far the worst Because My actual life was up for question I was beat on for HOURS, Suffered 2 concussions! A broken eye socket, teeth knocked out ! And pistol whipped

2015/2016 Brought me to my lowest point in life! I completely gave up on myself and let a Relationship dictate my whole life, Separating me from friends and family! I was trapped, dealing with EVERYTHING by myself! Not letting anyone know what was going on because of the fear that I had over my life & the fear of judgement from others.

Every moment I got to leave (escape) I got caught and beaten. Everyday I woke up, I was mentally abused, arguments, fight after fight! It was so draining! But GOD! GOD works in mysterious ways … it took me a while but I faced it . Had God not allowed my eyes to be open to this point I would have probably eventually been dead.

it wouldn’t have takken another beating because a gun could have been next, one shot and I could have been gone. It has happened and I’m so thankful for his grace and mercy upon me!

I mean look at me, look at his healing power, look at the growth he has put in me! The strength! I’m still able to Love, I’m still able to Hold my head High!! I love me Again. I’m the most confident I’ve ever been. I’m in such a peaceful state of mind! And I’m using my talents and gifts that the lord has blessed me with!

And I’m choosing to be one of the voices for millions of women around the world facing the same situation who might not be as strong as me! I’m here to let them know you can get help, you can speak up, SOMEONE does care! You do matter, And you can And will get THROUGH ! Keep god first and anything is possible !  Thankyou lord #2017 thankful for LIFE  &New beginnings"

What are the steps needed to reduce the rate of domestic violence?

Yeah, flip the coin now, I've vowed never to hit my woman and she knows it.

And probably because of my vow I keep getting slaps from time to time when she gets angry.

Early this year I almost lost an eye, visited my eye doctor and took several drugs before things normalised.
shocked almost lost an eye? That's serious. Domestic violence isn't to be condoned irrespective of the sex. If you are not married to her yet and she does this, what will she do when you eventually walk the aisle.

It's best to walk away, she might provoke you one day and you end up hitting her. God forbid something bad happend to her, you'd still be the one to be blamed.

RomanceThe ‘endure It’ Syndrome: Women, Flee From This! by BaesDiary(op): 10:57am On May 01, 2017
Because the rate of women that die as a result of 'endure-it-and-hope-it-gets-better' is on the rise, I wrote this:

You both loved each other, yes, you were so much in love with him. He was the only one who makes your world go round. You were fond of each other, and you could not imagine life without him. You blessed the day you met him, he was not perfect, but awesome in his own…..

You got married. This was your dream come true. Yes, you are now married to your beau. You had vowed to be with him, come rain, come sunshine… come all that the world may throw at you….

But then, things changed. It started with a smack, it degenerated to tappings, he uses his belt. No, I am not talking ‘the 50 shades of grey', kinda beating, not the bedroom dominant-submissive# kinda thing…..

I am talking about real beating that ranges from slaps to punches, stamping, boxing and every form of abuse you have been receiving.

You kept quiet, he has apologized. He promised never to lay his hands on you anymore, except he wants to caress you…. He showed how remorseful he was…

Then, it happened again… this time you were the ‘cause’. He told you pushed him too far. He would not have done it again, if you had not called him names and if you had not…..

And just before you knew it, he violated you again, this time harder, you sustained bruises here and there. He was sorry, he did not know what came over him this time. He got you that thing you loved most, he appeased you with gifts, you let go. ‘He is human, isn’t he?’

You got to a point where you can no longer take it. You told his people, they apologized on his behalf, called him to reprimand him, and told you he would never try such again.

But then, it happened again and again and again, you reported to people… you have been told never to keep quiet on such issues. His people told you to endure, your parents told you to manage…they have given you out in marriage, you can’t bring shame to them by going back to their house. Your friends told you that you are even lucky, some girls would do anything to attain that married status you have. So, they advise you to stay for your kids. Your clergy told you to pray. The society expectation of you is to keep up with his ill treatment. You don’t want to be single mother, or separated mom, you dislike such label….

But you die every day, with his raging blows… You die daily from his consistent abuse….

Will you wait till you are beaten to death, before you realize you should have run?

Would you rather die from his constant beating, than live for your children?

Many have towed this path…. Many have endured it, till their last breath was taken. Do you know the percentage of women who die yearly as a result of domestic violence?

RUN SISTER, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, SAY NO TO THE “ENDURE IT SYNDROME”!

Romance5 Reasons Ladies Go Back To Bad Relationships by BaesDiary(op): 5:01pm On Apr 30, 2017
Ever wondered the reason a woman leaves a bad relationship only to go back to that same relationship, some months or weeks later? Some of them say they are over their exes, only for you to log into your Facebook page, and see that they have posted a picture of them hanging out with their exes (with the emoji kiss).

So, what are the reasons women go back to bad relationships? They include:

1. They fear what a new relationship holds.
They know that their ex had seen the worst of them, hence they feel he might still be able to understand them better, than that new person out there.

2. They are lonely.
Some ladies don't know how to stay single for a short period of time. Once they stay for weeks and no new bae comes forth, they become lonely and seek the comfort of their exes.

3. They can't forget the memories.
When they remember the good times they have had with their exes, some of them can't hold back, they quickly reach out to those men, not minding the bad side they had experienced in the relationship.

4. Some have low self esteem.
Some ladies just feel that for a man to let go of them, it means they are not really good enough. So, they think no other man would want them, hence they go back to their exes.

5. They are comfortable with their exes
Yes, their exes might treat them bad, some of them just prefer to be in that comfort zone where they know nothing new can come up again. They are used to their exes, and they would rather stick with them, irrespective of whatever. They can't step out of this dead-comfort-zone!

Romance10 Signs An Introvert Is In Love With You by BaesDiary(op): 8:29am On Apr 29, 2017
Introverts have been tagged names ranging from shy, secretive, proud to slow. Infact, people are of the opinion that introverts are people with low self esteem. Most think that introverts would rather stick to a corner of the room, interact with few or no person, than make themselves the center of attraction in a gathering. While the belief that introverts would rather keep to themselves is true, the notion that they suffer low self esteem is pure fallacy.

However, despite the quiet and calm nature of the introverts, there are situations where the recessive ability to act like an extrovert is turned on. One of such situation is when they fall in LOVE!

So, what are the signs an introvert is in love?

1. They let you into their fears and insecurities. Once they fall in love with you, you find them sharing their pains and secrets, which they might have not shared with any soul.

2. They become a chatterbox when they are with you . So, you think an introvert doesn't like talking? That's not true, they have not just met who they are comfortable with.

3. You see the lively side of them. If you think an introvert is boring, it's because you have not seen them with the person who they love. Once they fall in love with you,  the word 'boring' becomes a thing of the past.

4. They bare it all. Introverts may be secretive, but not with the person they love. Once they are in love, you become their human diary. And when there's any news, they talk to you about it first! This is simply because they are comfortable with you.

5. Yes, they are reserved, but they could get vocal in defending the person they are in love with.

6. They could go out of their comfort zones to prove a point. Imagine an introvert dancing with their lover, in the presence of people who have never seen them danced.

7. They could be hilarious. If you think introverts are 'dry' people with no sense of humour, you are probably wrong. When they are with their loved ones, they can be really hilarious, you'd wonder how they came about such comedy!

8. They can tell you the truth. They are honest with whosoever they fall in love with. If you want to know the truth about something, ask an introvert who is in love with you.

9. Yes, they love having their me-time, but they can still share it with that special someone.

10. They become more loving. As you two get deeper in the relationship, they love you more, they show more affection which is seen in the things they do for and with you. With time, you know they can be very romantic.
