banjicom:Not everyone does that...... Some still appreciate true affection. |
Date someone who makes you feel safe. Someone you can tell your deepest secrets to and they won’t judge you. Someone you trust not to give up on you when the going gets tough. Someone whose affection towards you never wavers whether things are going smoothly or when he’s facing a crisis. There is no malice in his words when he talks to you, no sarcasm in his remarks, and no intention to hurt you. He won’t belittle you in your abilities. He won’t insult your looks and body. He won’t use you for his selfish purposes. He strives to be the light in your life, the love in your heart, and the forever you believe in. He makes the effort when it comes to you. He isn’t afraid of going the extra mile and he is willing to move heaven and earth to be with you. Date someone you can trust your heart with and who you know you can always count on. He knows you are who he’s looking for and he’s certain of his feelings for you. There are no obstacles too big to be conquered, no wrong timing that needs to be right, and no unwavering of heart that deters both of you from getting together. There are no exes in the picture or in his life. There are no girls he wants to impress or at the sideline waiting to take your place. You are the only one he wants to know and the only girl in his heart. He kisses your tears away tenderly and encourages you to pick yourself up and try again. He heals the fragmented pieces of your heart by loving you with his whole heart. He becomes a permanent spot in your life and loves you to infinity and beyond. He talks to you from the crack of dawn to nightfall and never runs out of words to say. You can feel his presence with you from the moment you open your eyes until you fall asleep with a smile on your face, knowing he will still be there when you wake up. He wants to know what you are thinking and your opinion on everything. He adores your quirks and flaws, as they make you, you. Date someone who makes love easy. He doesn’t play mind games with you or deceive your feelings. He doesn’t switch into a completely different person every time you see him, so much so, that you won’t know which version of him is real. He makes you forget about all the insignificant things like who should text first and to refrain from appearing too interested. He makes you want to abandon all your misgivings and hesitation about love and believes in second chances. Date someone who makes you believe in love. Not the diluted, cheapened, half-love that modern dating has us believing to be true. The kind of big love that is every bit as magical as you believe it to be. The best friend type of love when you know each other as well as you know yourself. The soulmate love when you find and choose each other to fall in love with and be together against all obstacles. The love that comes once in a lifetime. Source: http://www.baesdiary.com.ng/2017/04/you-should-date-someone-who-makes-love.html#more

She looked at me with tears in her eyes. I knew she was in pains, pains from the words of her to-be mother-in-law. I was moved. she had always been the good girl, the good girl with a big heart. And oh! She is the definition a wife material. Her fiancé knows this, and I guess that is the reason he wants to fight it to the end. he has told his mom to let him be and marry the girl of his choice, but the woman has been a thorn in his flesh, a thorn in their flash. To-be mother-in-law have sworn never to be a part of that marriage. The thought of his son ending up with a woman from another tribe was nauseating to her. What the hell was wrong with him? There are beautiful women from his tribe, that surround her, but his son was just too blind to see them. Maybe he has been bewitched by the lady he claims to love, who knows? Fiance has tried all he could to make his mom love and accept his woman. Initially, his siblings loved the relationship, but before we knew it, mother has won them to her side. Okay, I get it, blood is thicker than water.... Babe has made up her mind to fight it through, this is a man that has given all of him for her to be a better person. In her words, "who would replace the sweetest man I ever know?". Babe doesn't care what the future holds with her future in-laws, as long as he wants her, she is ready to continue with the daily dose of phone calls of threats and insults from her future in-laws. Inter-tribal marriage dilemma! This brings us to these questions that beg some answers: 1. Should we go into an intertribal marriage that lacks the consent, approval or happiness of our parents? 2. Should a woman who has the love and support of her man do what it takes to marry him and ignore signs of all the impending-troubles? 3. Why do people kick against inter-tribal marriages? Are there disadvantages of inter-tribal marriages? This post first appeared on this blog - Bae's Diary! Source: http://www.baesdiary.com.ng/2017/04/how-do-i-deal-with-dilemma-of-inter.html#more

ToriBlue:You are right. Love isn't the only factor that hold a marriage together. But will you just let go of the man just like that? |

Tallesty1:In my opinion, Most gals have experienced this kind of abuse. However, some are victims (those who were assaulted), and some are victors (those who had a near-experience and escaped). |

He would call me his wife and give me this weird smile every time he comes visiting. He always has a way of scolding my younger brother when he did the tiniest wrong, but when i do same, he tells my mom I am just a little girl. Then, one day, he parked into our apartment. The reason wasn't disclosed, but from the gist I got, he was having financial issues. He helped my brother and I, with our homework, he scrubs the floor, washes the dishes and even makes meals for the family. He became a relief to my parents who come back home late from work. Many a time, I won't get to see my mom for 2 weeks, because she leaves home early before I am awake and gets home late, when I am already snoring in bed. I was my uncle's favorite, and he would add extra piece of meat for me. One afternoon, he sent my brother to help collect his disc player from his friend. Uncle drew me closer and asked me to sit close to him. I did and he started tickling me, I laughed and he started playing with me. We rolled over each other on his bed, I never knew my uncle was so much fun. The play ended when my brother came back with the cd player. The following day, while my brother was asleep, Uncle told me how beautiful I am, and reminded me how I am his wife. I felt good about this. Uncle was my husband. He asked me to sit on his laps, I did and before i knew it, my pants were off. Uncle pounced on me. The sharp pain was unbearable, and my innocence was taken at the age of 5! I screamed, but uncle quickly covered my mouth with his palms. he told me sorry and he cleaned me up. He warned me strictly never to tell anyone. If I did, he was not going to marry me and I would not look beautiful again, And no one would want to associate with me too. He also said, with what he did to me, I would understand mathematics (my weak subject) better in school and I would not be scolded by my parents anymore. Uncle continued to molest me for the rest of of the 8 years he stayed with us. It became a norm to me, How else does one satisfy one's husband? When I was 13, uncle moved out of our house. He later got married and he has 3 beautiful girls. He kept his distance from me, but still talks to my family, like he did not hurt a soul. I am 35 years old as I type, I have all it takes to be called a wealthy woman, but I am single. I have met men, but my past still haunt me, I just cant allow myself love or trust any man. Sometimes, I wished I was not a girl child, I wished my parents never left us in the arms of uncle. I wished uncle was aborted by her mother; I wished he was never allowed to come to this earth and ruin an innocent life. I wished I was never my Uncle's wife! Many of us despise our birthright profanely on a daily basis without knowing it. The story in the Holy book goes thus of the sons of Isaac, the twins - Esau and Jacob. The former, being the older and a skilled hunter, and the later naturally the younger and a farmer. Esau comes home from his adventures hungry and desperate for a meal, Jacob takes advantage and trades him a bowl of sumptious porridge for his BIRTHRIGHT.(a) BIRTHRIGHT: /'bəːθrʌɪt/ noun a particular right of possession or privilege a person has from birth, especially as an eldest son. Esau goes on to loose his spiritual inheritance as a result of his poor bargain in a manner he would least expect, though he still became rich, Esau's name would be forgotten in history to be replaced by that of his younger brother.(b) HOW DOES IT APPLY TO ME? Every time we bargain for instant gratification at the expense of commitment, discipline, patience and most importantly faith in and knowledge of God, we despise our heritage, inheritance as children of God. While Gods's grace is sufficient(c) and allows us back to His presence to carry up that BIRTHRIGHT when we repent and show remorse(d), it doesn't take rocket science to realize that its better to value it than to devalue it repeatedly(e). So before you settle for less than you've been promised by God and take that 5 minute pleasure, or that shortcut, remember that something greater lies ahead! NO MATTER HOW HUNGRY YOU ARE, NEVER EAT YOUR SEED OR YOU WILL BE IN NEED FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! a. Genesis 25:27-34: 27. When the boys grew up, Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field, while Jacob was a quiet man, rdwelling in tents. 28.Isaac loved Esau because she ate of his game, but Rebekah loved Jacob. 29. Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. 30. And Esau said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stew, for I am exhausted!” (Therefore his name was called Edom.5) 31. Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright now.” 32. Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” 33. Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and tsold his birthright to Jacob. 34. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright. b. Genesis 27:1-45 c. 2 Corinthians 12:9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, kthat the power of Christ may rest upon me. d. 1 John 1:9, Isaiah 1:18 1 John 1:9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and rto cleanse us from all unrighteousness. e. 1 Samuel 22:15, Romans 12:2 Romans 12:2 - Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. This post first appeared on this blog - Bae's Diary! The Lagos State Government has alerted members of the public on recorded cases of Cerebrospinal Meningitis (CSM) in some states in the country and the need to report suspected case to the nearest public health facility. The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris said the spread is caused by a new strain of CSM causative agent, known as Neisseria Meningitides type C, which is slightly different from the causative agent of the seasonal CSM and that the disease is a dangerous and a life threatening one because it affects the thin layers of the tissue around the brain and spinal cord of an infected person. He further explained that Cerebrospinal Meningitis is an epidemic-prone disease that spreads from person to person through contact with discharges or droplets from nose and throat of an infected person. It can also be transmitted through kissing, sneezing and coughing especially amongst people in close quarters, hotels, refugee camp, barracks, public transportation and areas with poor ventilation or overcrowded places. The Commissioner noted that though seasonal Meningitis outbreak usually affects mainly the Northern States that fall within the meningitis prone belt of the country, it is not impossible that outbreaks can occur in other parts of the country, Lagos inclusive, in view of the phenomenal climatic change as well as the high human migration. He, however, maintained that no case of CSM has been recorded in Lagos State contrary to what has been published, adding that, “But as a responsive government, we deem it fit to alert the public on the inherent danger of the disease”. Dr. Idris explained that the symptoms of the disease include high body temperature, pain and stiffness of the neck, headache, vomiting, restlessness and confusion, stressing that it may result in the death of the victim if not promptly and properly managed. The Commissioner, therefore, emphasized the need for the observance of high standards of personal and environmental hygiene as a preventive measure against the disease. He also noted that such measures should include washing of hands with soap and water frequently, avoiding direct contact with the discharges from an infected person and covering the mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing. “It is strongly advised for people to avoid overcrowding in living quarters, provide cross ventilation in sleeping and work-rooms and other places where many people come together and get vaccinated with CSM vaccine when traveling to areas where Meningitis outbreaks have been reported”, he added. Dr. Idris noted that health workers in the State, the State Epidemiology team and the Disease Surveillance and Notification Officers (DSNOs) in all the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas have been placed on high alert in order to intensify the disease surveillance and monitoring activities. He said the health workers are also advised to avoid close contact with suspected and probable cases of CSM based on the case description, ensure proper disposal of respiratory and throats secretions of cases, report suspected or probable cases, observe universal safety precautionary measures and make use of personal protective equipment when in contact with such cases as highlighted in the Fact-Sheets earlier forwarded to them. While urging residents to take responsibility for their health and report cases of the symptoms aforementioned to the nearest public health facility or the Ministry of Health, the Commissioner stated that the State Government had put in place all the necessary measures towards prevention of outbreak of CSM in Lagos State. Dr. Jide Idris, therefore, advised the general public to remain calm and report suspected cases to the nearest public health facility or contact Disease Surveillance Officers of the Ministry of Health on the following numbers 08037170614, 09087106072, 08023169485, 08052817243, 08026441681. Meanwhile, no fewer than 43,694 residents from five Local Government and eight Local Council Development Areas comprising Ojo, Oto-Awori, Iba, Badagry, Badagry-West, Olorunda, Oshodi, Isolo, Ejigbo, Amuwo-Odofin, Oriade, Ajeromi and Ifelodun have benefitted from the on-going Lagos Health Mission programme; a medical intervention sponsored by the State government to provide free healthcare services to residents of Lagos across the 20 Local Governments areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas of the State. The government of Bangladesh is planning to block popular social network Facebook for six hours, starting midnight. According to a report by a Bangladeshi daily, the government is considering the step for the 'betterment of students and youth'. As per a report by The Daily Star, the cabinet has forwarded a letter to Telecom Ministry, saying that Facebook is "affecting the students" and "dimming the working capabilities of the youths". The report further adds that the telecom division has asked Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission's opinion on the issue. Shyam Sunder Sikder, secretary of the telecom division, confirmed to The Daily Star that the telecom division has received the letter and will have to assess whether the decision will hamper the business communications. According to The Daily Star's report, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission has said that the ban should not be imposed. The regulatory body feels that instead of imposing ban on the social network, the government should try involving parents and educational institutions in this matter. BTRC has further stated that blocking of Facebook will be ineffective when other services like WhatsApp, Viber are there. Moreover, the blocking will hamper the businesses of people who rely on Facebook. As per the report, BTRC has recommended that parents should use parental control software, security software and privacy features to stop their children from accessing Facebook. This is not the first time that the Bangladesh government is thinking of banning a digital service. In 2012, the government had imposed a ban of 260 days on video-sharing platform YouTube. Ifeoma White-Thorpe is going places. Two years ago, the New Jersey teen won the grand prize in the National Liberty Museum Selma Speech and Essay Contest, she's aced all of her AP classes, she's president of her high school's student government, and now she's been accepted by all eight Ivy League colleges plus Stanford, reports the New York Daily News. Her parents say the decision is hers to make, but the 17-year-old says it'll likely come down to which school offers the most financial aid. Ifeoma says she plans to study biology and pursue a career in public health, but she has a hunch that it is her poetry that got her noticed in her applications. In part of her award-winning essay, which Mic.com reports was among 800 submitted, she talks about being motivated to explore the idea of freedom when her little brother no longer felt safe walking down the street as a black boy. "In order to advance my rights, I will continue to dismiss the stereotypes of the black female," she writes. "I will be outstanding. I will be ravishing in the way that I sew my words together to create a beautiful, unmitigated harmony." CNN reports that Ifeoma joins the ranks of only a handful of students to get into all eight Ivy League schools: Harvard, Yale, Columbia, UPenn, Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, and Princeton. There was this hot looking guy I had eyes for in my area. He buys recharge card from my mom every evening, on his way back from work. He came to patronize as usual, and I was so happy when he started talking to me. He asked if that was my mom's shop and all that. Initially, I pretended I wasn't really into him, but later, I had to let my guard down. So, he asked if I would accompany him to a friend's wedding, trust me I did not hesitate to say yes. On this fateful day, he came to pick me at home. We headed out to his friend's place to pick him, so we would all go to the reception from there. While he drove, he gisted me about his crazy colleagues who collect phone numbers from random girls in the banking hall, and they end up not calling them because of their busy work schedules and all that. He told me of how this particular girl came to the bank to harass his colleague for standing her up on their first date. Suddenly, from no where, my stomach started rumbling. I thought it wasn't serious until gas built up in my system. I had to adjust my bumbum, a bit to a side, and prayed that the fart would not make noise, neither should it smell. The fart cooperated , it came gently, and the moving wind quickly nullified the smell. Seconds later, my stomach rumbled again, and I felt like visiting the toilet. Beads of sweat already formed on my forehead, as I was really feeling pressed. I was no longer enjoying the conversation. My laughter was quickly replaced by a plastic smile. He noticed and asked if I was fine. I told him all was all good. I asked if we were close to his friend's house. Luckily for me, we got there five minutes later. By that time, the poo was already at the tip of my anus. Immediately we got to his friend's place, I asked if i could use the toilet. His friend asked if i wanted to pee or poo. I told him I wanted to pee and he showed me the rest room. I entered and released all the stored poo. After this, I felt comfortable. Then, I flushed the toilet, but my poo decided not to go down. That was the day I knew poop can defy gravity. The more I try to flush, the more the poo rose up. At a point, the poo from the WC begin to spill. I was like 'kuku kill me now'. Emmy came to knock and asked if I was fine. I was ashamed and dumbfounded. There was no rag or any piece of clothing in sight in the toilet to clean up the mess. And by that time, the poo had really spilled all over. I opened the toilet door, as Emmy won't stop knocking. His friend came around when he noticed the incessant knocking from him. I wished the ground opened up. His friend saw this and did not take it lightly. "But girl, I asked you if you wanted to pee or poo, and you said you wanted to pee," he said. "The toilet is not good for poop. The plumber is coming to fix it tomorrow. We have been using our neighbor's flat since last week." I was too ashamed to talk. See fine girl with all the fine dress and perfect make up embarrassed like this. Emmy and his friend got to work, see them packing my poo. We had to cancel going for the wedding reception. He drove me to my parents house in silence. Not only did we not get to be in a relationship, but my mom also suffered for my incident, as he stopped buying recharge cards from her. It wasn't his fault, I blame the evil vegetable soup I ate the previous night. Source: http://www.baesdiary.com.ng/2017/04/heres-how-plate-of-vegetable-soup-can.html#more
