afrokid: Thank u jare!OP:Its ur call as i said in my earlier post...God bless ur hustle Kid: I just wanted to show i have lived in the FCT n i knw these places...a room n parlour in lugbe FHA for example costs at least 400K P/a,in kubwa u shld get a good one for like 350-400...mararaba might be cheaper...but what does it profit a man to pay almost 5/12 of his salary on rent in abuja. Plus i have never been a politician...lets just say i have multiple sources of income and would gladly host u whenever u decide to grace my hangout wiv ur presence..nl is a faceless forum n i dont really have d time or d inclination to convince u via same... O/P:once again, God be wiv u in whatever u decide to do |
Money, money and more money...met a gal some years back who was posing and forming AJEBO n all...she dey chop my change but no gree do...one fateful day, i called her in d afternoon to hang out wiv me but she was all excuses...The thing pain my spirit na so i dey sip alomo dey para...a devilish thought came to my head and i called her arnd 5pm claiming my boss just gave us some money for the weekend..( i specifically mentioned 100k) and she became all sweet over the phone...suffice to say she spent the night in my hawz and it was worth the wait..(10 months) i still have this gnawing suspicion the 'weekend money' wey she wan chop aided in changing her mind... Moral of the story: money, money and more money wiv little or no swag gets a typical 9ja gal wiv d 9ja mentality... apologies to the REAL ladies in the house.. |
Quite an eye-opener...thanks @ OP |
EBK2: What is Lugbe like? I bought a piece of land for development but I haven't even been there.Lugbe is along aiport road and like 10mins drive from city gate..Make serious inquiries as to the exact location of your plot as most of the plots of land offered for sale in lugbe (apart from FHA, ACO and some select few estates) are not captured in the database of the FCT and developing same is very risky as it could be demolished without recourse/notice to you as you are deemed to be a tenant at will...estates sef wey dey worth billions, dem demolish...google 'minanuel estate' for reference..best of luck sir |
afrokid: I doubt if you've ever been to abuja because people with lesser salaries there still live fine and the only expensive thing, accommodation, has been taken care of.Well my dear KID, ur doubts are unfounded as i am currently residing in abuja and have been for almost seven years...i have lived in maitama, wuse 2, sauka (airport road) and lugbe as a corper earning peanuts and as a full time employee and still stand by my point which is a salary of 70k does nothing and when i mean nothing, i mean nothing...u need to work, earn money and survive on same before you air opinions here. I know quite a number of people who earn double of the OP's proposed salary who are willing to run out of the FCT at the slightest chance. OP...its still your call, however reason am well..no be only accommodation expensive for abuja, everything is! |
Please, please and please, dey lag jejely..forget the accommodation provided in abj, its expensive to survive but....(of course there ia always a but) if you have/ will have time for extra runs, u could consider abj...anything below 150-200k with no time for extra runs is manageable.. Just an opinion of a hustler.. |
Was in camp just shortly after law school...was gisting after lights out with hostel mates while charging my fone..before i know wassap, phone don miss...bearing in mind this was the only priced possession i had at the time especially after drinking the law school bursary away... na so i para go call soldiers, police and civil defence officials but for whr, the phone no show ooo...suspected a guy and after he was searched i almost resigned myself to fate....as per sharp lag boy, i told him i was gonna organise boys to tie him in the bush and possibly beat the fone outta him...he made the wise choice..i was contacted thru OBS to come for my fone as same was found by a 'good samaritan' who preferred to remain anonymous... |
Do people still buy land(s) without authenticating the veracity or otherwise of same especially in a fast-developing city like lagos? ...like seriously ...i give up... A dumb person will always remain a dumb person... |
Well, i served in abuja and so did many of my friends and colleagues and to be honest, 70% of us got retained and are actually thankful to God and NYSC...some didnt utilise what they had and are currently playing 'catch up'...i think its really a matter of opinion sha...P.S We were paid 9750 then oooo |
Prof. EGBEWOLE , the said factional leader of ASUU in UNILORIN was a well known philanderer back when i was in the university....he forced and or pressured girls into sex hence the reason for his non-confirmation as dean of faculty of law, university of ilorin then especially when his ways was exposed to the then Governing Council and by extension, the Ministry of Education by the victims...same Egbewole now rebranded as Prof. Egbewole and tackling Dr Oloruntoba-Oju, An erudite scholar who was unjustly sacked by Prof Abdulrahman oba for over 10yrs and recently reinstated...same Egbewole who never came for LLM (Masters in law) lectures and failed 60% for attendance (yours truly included)?.. God no go forgive u if u factionalise UNILORIN ASUU...we know you, your pedigree and your sponsors...by Gods grace, YOU SHALL BE DISGRACED!!! |
In as much as i dont like using cuss words and all, i think these bastards should frigging STFU and possibly take a dive in a dry lake..i havent had electricity supply in my house for a week and the generator is on constant overtime yet the bills never fail to come...walahi if i catch una dey protest for my area, na boys go break una legs...monkeys |
Went to law school and by the time i returned, she was already straffing one small university boy just cos he drove a mercedes benz 190...i carefully and painstakingly planned my revenge and mended fences...broke up with the monkey a day to my wedding while inviting her to same....heard she didnt eat for 3 days..(like say e concern me) abeg no time for nonsense |
Okija_juju: Rubbish!!Obviously you have an axe to grind with the NSCDC.. i recollect i once advised you read the NSCDC Act both establishment and amendment ( https://www.nairaland.com/1239317/policemen-claim-nscdc-officials-provoked/3#14975877) but you didnt and yet still post on the same subject matter without proper research.... I tire for you ooo bros..you sure say no be because them no give you job na hin make you dey vex so? |
As a matter of fact, this opinion/thread is the foolishest (pardon my french) one i've ever seen on nairaland....we understand you are an apologist but must you rub it in our face?..GEJ is going down and i sincerely pray and hope you see this thread in 2015 and see how insincere (apologies to insincere9jerian) your opinions were. Do have a rough night since you still belong to the camp of the bastards attempting to foist the clueless one on us. P.S I really have strong opinions as per who gets Nigeria out of the doldrums...no hard feelings |
yhemster: Am very happy you mentioned OPPORTUNITY, and an example on that is the riches man in African. Do you think Dangote will be as success as he is today if he never get the inheritance he received from his grandfather (Dantata). It always very sad when I see African think like a white man, for ur information we are not the same, we live in different part of the world with different problems. In the Western world, raising resources for business and investment is easier than it is in Africa. Leaving inheritance for the kids should not be done on the idea that they are entitled but it can be given as a gift to them to ease their future.Try to crosscheck your facts. Dangote claimed he got a loan to start his business. And dont try to be a smart a,s's by mentioning abraham. As common among people of old, children were brought into the family business at a very tender age and assumed so much responsibility in looking out for the family and its interest hence they mostly toed the family business line and were apprenticed under their father and when he fathers died, they carried on with thw business. yhemster: So what if by destiny you are to be the source of ur generational wealth and giving the little you are able to gather to the kids will transform their life and the generation after forever? Think deeper before regret ur decision in ur grave. In as much as i strongly believe in destiny, i also believe that hardwork, preparedness and makng good use of opportunities tears down the shackles of poverty hence i dont agree with your submission of anyone being destined to be rich just because he was born to rich parents. A man determined to be poor will die poor even if given all the gold in qatar. P.S the God i serve sends opportunities down my path and doesnt hinge my success or otherwise on anybody and or anyone. "If only Your faith (not your father or mother's faith) was/is as small as a mustard seed, you would say to this mountain .........." |
I once told my wife this particular statement and she was livid to say the least...not sure i subscribe to working so hard for money and same been passed on to someone who's only qualification is been my son/daughter. Of course we have peeps who's parents were rich and actually did somehing for themselves but a vast majority would fritter same away before the parents are confirmed dead at the morgue. As long as i can provide my children with the basic needs and opportunities in life, i will go to my grave a fulfilled man. Alagemo ti bi omo e tan, aimo jo wa ku si owo eee.. |
Bro...lovely story however i have some observations. At the beginning of this thread, you stated that it is a true story. HOWEVER, i sincerely doubt that. 1. You stated that you were promoted fron lieutenant to colonel, with all due respect, a lieutenant gets promoted to being a CAPTAIN after which he becomes a MAJOR, then a LIEUTENANT COLONEL and finally a COLONEL...not possible you go from being a lieutenant to being a colonel in the course of one single pomotion. 2. Lets say you mistakenly typed lieutenant instead of lieutenant colonel, this excuse still does not avail the thread of truth as ordinarily, no Major can give a direct order to a Lieutenant colonel. 3. In view of paragraphs 1 & 2 above, it is humbly opined that you put up a picture of you in a Colonel's uniform or edit the part that states this is a true story. Have a lovely day |
How in the world could that have been described as an accident? A rifle was issued to a person and he, knowing how dangerous that rifle is or could be ensures its loaded with live rounds and is not on safety and yet he handles the rifle in a way that makes it slip from him? Thats negligence of the highest order and at the least, he should b charged for manslaughter. P.S His 'mistake' might have just robbed a family of its breadwinner, a wife of her husband and innocent kids of their father. #enoughsaid# |
Here's one When ilorin was 'hot' around 2001,2002 i saw a guy being shot at and stabbed in front of faculty of arts n o boy, nurrin happened oooo...the boys who came for the kill were wearing boots and after a while, they stamped on him while another held him down. It was gruesome. Moral of the story: a person held down n fired on and stabbed by at least 2 persons pointblank wey no bleed,e fit be odeshi P.S dont ask if he died, OF COURSE HE DID! |
DANILSA: The pope is a disgrace to humanity if he does not know that Jesus is not God. just imagine after studies throughout his whole life cant differentiate Jesus and God.Dear bible student, The reason why catholics talk about holy trinity is because God is God the father, the creator of the world, God the son in the person and form of Jesus Christ and God the holy spirit upon the descent of the holy spirit on the disciples. P.S A foo.l is not regarded as a foo.l until he opens his mouth and spits out trash...*do have a knowledge-imparting day* |
When it smells like sh'it, looks like sh'it, feels like sh'it and tastes like sh'it, IT MUST BE SH'IT...abegiiii |
Obviously this thread is not for kids who are home by 5pm. I witnessed same all around wuse 2,mabushi bridge, lugbe after berger yard and even airport junction. There really must have been a security threat cos big men sef join us queue for screening ooo and not once did i hear the now tired 'do you know who i am'.... |

Longeria: Those supporting Amaechi has never set their foot in rivers state, and don't know the real Amaechi. This same man suspended eight (I would advise you register more accounts on nl to get the likes you so desire.... |

L. G. A Chairmen for coming late in a state function. In fact, that Was where the whole problems started, because after recalling the other seven Timothy Nsirim of Obio Akpor LGA was not. The prayers of victims of Amaechi is working, and I believe he will never come out of this still standing tall, let him ask justice Salami " how market ". Hit like if I make sense.
