Nice... I'd even like it slightly darker. |
dyydxx:alright then. Let's agree to both agree not to spend too much time disagreeing over opinions concerning which we'd never agree. ![]() It's a good thing no one signs as a minor or under duress. Whoever doesn't like the terms of contract is totally free to dust his shoulders, hold his head high and walk away...like a boss ![]() |
gentletalkaktiv:hehehe... Beht I fit be church guy na? You know? |
DACK1:lol. I was just kidding around with the info though. Relax. It's true that qualified.io has those features, but it doesn't mean Andela would use all the features at the moment. Your being called likely depends on how you performed against the general average. However as more and more people learn how to code on their own, and application becomes even more competitive, they may have to employ stricter screening measures. |
Pretty much the same thing every other set of Nigerian university or polytechnic undergraduates are doing in school - getting a degree in a country that focuses on degrees instead of ability. Don't pretend there's any part of the Nigerian education system that isn't a joke. |
Wait... He died in Australia and afterwards was flown to India for a heart transplant. You wanted to do heart transplant for the dead? I hate stupid lies jare ![]() |
gentletalkaktiv:nice... Thanks for stating the 'facts' and enlightening both the qualified.io developers who erroneously thought they added playback and other features, and the persons who took a free trial to test their claims before saying it. |
We should have stricter laws against sexual harassment of any kind, regardless of the gender of the victims and perpetrators. Are you guys proud of Nigeria the way it is? ![]() |
dyydxx:tied down? Strong words. I find it odd that one would start thinking of leaving even before he gets the chance to join. Anyway, what do I know? A person who knows next to nothing about development struggles to get an invite from Andela, and manages to scale through the selection process because he is a good learner. He goes through an intensive 6-month training, during which period he is given tools and resources for free, and is rapidly shaped into a fine developer with nice collaborative soft skills and technical skills. After that, he is assigned to work with real clients, and soaks up all the experience. All the while, Andela pays him steady. ![]() Then as soon as he has become that good, he realizes he should have been elsewhere raking in more money with what he has learnt, somewhere he couldn't have dreamt of joining before being trianed. Then he wants to leave - without paying back with quality service. Honestly, that's ingratitude at its worst. ![]() I don't even think anyone should leave his 'decent pay' to join Andela. He should use the money to train himself, and he'd never worry about being 'tied down'. There are many places where one can learn nice stuff for the right price. |
phililp:there is no owner. There are co-founders that all worked together to make Andela possible. There's Iyin (E), Jeremy, Christina, Ian.... Even Nadayar. Jeremy is currently the CEO though. |
dyydxx:hmmm... Why are people so interested in the pay anyway. I've seen a copy of the contract, and it's very much fair to me, considering the experience you get to gain. It's not a charity organization. |
jaymichael:yeah, you are right. |
PrinceCEE:em... No, not /laiberi/. In BrE, t's either /laibri/ or /laibreri/ (with the weak e - vowel 12). |
dyydxx:no idea bro. I'm not a fellow ![]() |
The girl with the dyed hair for no just wear bra at all ![]() |
kayoph:you're welcome bro. Yeah, your quiz accuracy matters. In the proctor days, it was what usually made the difference, since everyone who completes their test managed to write code that passed. I admire your spirit. All the best. |
Another nonsense attempt at trying to generalize with a large group of persons inherently different from one another, just because they share one thing in common. 1) They hardly talk nor share their feelings, but they like to be the centre of meetings. How can you be at the centre of meetings when you hardly talk? 2) She has a big heart but she is bossy and has a terrible temper. How manage? How did you manage to reconcile these contradictions in your 'research'? |
chygoz3:- Savings account ($5,000 USD upon completion of Fellowship). - Graduates become a part of an exclusive alumni network and have access to career support, advice and opportunities. Source: https://andela.com/apply |
Adex001:congrats. Go blow their minds ![]() |
chygoz3:the entire four years? No you don't have to, but you'd forfeit your benefits if you leave before the end of the four years. Plus there's a minimum period you must stay, after which you wouldn't be breaching any contract if you decide to leave. You'd learn more towards the end of bootcamp. I don't think anyone would want to leave anyway. Andela is a whole different kind of awesome. |
aliuyusuf003:awww... Cheer up bro. Just study some more, practice writing code and try again. Many fellows had to try multiple times before they finally made it in. |
r4blessing:like minutes ago. |
r4blessing:I think the invites are out. Check your email. |
The dude is dirty and shamelessly miserly if he packed it, and if your story is true, you are a typical conceited girl who thinks the world owes her a favour for being a girl, and who has no problem wasting money she doesn't earn. It's wrong to waste food while people around the world go to bed hungry. If you didn't want anything, you could have insisted you don't want anything instead of accepting and then wasting it. In his shoes, I wouldn't even come close to your filthy leftover, and you wouldn't be hearing from me again either. |
gentletalkaktiv:says me, and the qualified.io homepage you didn't bother to check out. If you still doubt it, start a free trial like I did. |
Lol. You just need your wife to understand that at times it's okay to let the baby cry. But she likely wouldn't understand, don't bother. Nursing mothers usually transfer all their love and attention to their baby. It's part of the perks of being a father. Just wait a bit. When he starts crawling, get him lots of toys and maybe even a tv in his room. |
MaziOmenuko:nah... It's not that deep. Memes aren't picture puzzles. Dude is counting, gets to 69, tries to suppress a naughty grin, continues counting. That's not cum face. That's a 'dirty-thoughts' face. The idea is that many people's minds travel to bad places when they see/hear/think of the number 69 anywhere, even if doing something as innocent as counting numbers. |
You only got 3, 6, 7, 8 correct, despite the fact that you don't know how to transcribe. You were describing the sounds. 1) you made ma-She-ti sound like ma-She-teh. 2) K isn't silent in the word 'ask' in any version of English. 4) /lai-bri/ is also correct in British English. You are wrong to say it's wrong. 5) the snack gala is different from the event gala. 9) en-ji-near is even the more common pronunciation both in American and British English. You should always check your dictionary before posting stuff like this. There isn't only one correct way to pronounce a word. |
Danny287:Nigeria has always been a lawless country. It's only getting worse. |
Battery and OS? |
QueenOfNepal:Just because I can spell 'miracle' doesn't mean I can perform one. Developing software is infinitely easier. Try next door, and all the best. |
Lol. I love these! The kind of pics I'd enjoy taking. We don't have much public sculpture one can pose with here. The few presentable ones are almost always fenced. Plus which ground you wan try yourself lie down for public for naija? |

. For others that make decent pay, probably not so much. Also being tied down for 4 years or having to pay those egregious fees just to leave raises eyebrows, in any case as it stands staying for 2 years before leaving is fair in my own opinion considering their investments. At the end of the day, it boils down to your current circumstances.
