PoliticsRe: Houses Burnt In Naka, Benue By Men In Military Camouflage (Photos) by bakaredc: 6:29pm On Apr 19, 2018
The truth is the President has been lukewarm in his usual habit in handling key issues and managing conflicts, but to say that the military will cause such havoc, i do not buy into it. The truth is some politicians are playing games with human lives just to score whatever point they want to score.
I wish the youths will rise up and show the political class that they can not be taking us for a ride and playing on our intelligence.
I wish we all will be able to stand and spoil and bring to nought the caprices of these sons of perdition.
I wish we would take a common stand against PDP and APC in 2019.

PoliticsRe: Nigerians Criticize Buhari After French President Was Spotted Doing This. Photos by bakaredc: 3:45pm On Mar 30, 2018
Every new day, new criticism, dats politics anyway, but i think more than the ranting "with due respect" majority of us make on this platform, go get ur PVC and speak with it come 2019. I think Nigeria will be better if we all find the faults in our lives like the way we minute by minute find fault in buhari and make necessary adjustment. The man has his many faults but the truth is i have mine too, but rather than just giving myself headache on how to criticise buhari today, i will put dat energy on positive thinking and show my displeasure by using my PVC come 2019.
Leave the everyday criticism to Fani Kayode and others who have taken politics as a job. Focus on ur own job and how to grow in it.

CSTR1002:
But they are not delivering commensurate value with the amount of money available to Lagos.
There is a difference between work and WORK.

And these guys are making life difficult for ordinary lagosians with their many taxation.

That is why I asked if ambode and fashola are better agbaje and Williams

Are you sure Lagos would not have experienced better growth and development under agbaje and Williams?

Jakande the best governor of Lagos was not a member of the tinubu cartel.
Well u do ave ur points and it just may be valid..we just never know..but then it is contestable.

CSTR1002:
Are you telling me that ambode is more intelligent than Jimi agbaje or fashola is a better governor than Funsho Williams?

Lagos has money, of course it is easy to work if you want to.
My line of argument is formed from the very last statement u made there sir,"it is easy to work if you want to"..their willingness and resolve to work is what u cant take away from those guys.
PoliticsRe: Why Were Saraki, Oyegun, Dogara Absent At Tinubu's Colloquium? by bakaredc: 12:54pm On Mar 30, 2018
Sadly i find it hard to believe that some of you think Tinubu has cornered Lagos State, Lagosians voting for only one party in governorship elections is about performance and not sentiments, Be sincere with urself, look at the "work rate" and intelligence of all lagos state governors since 1999. Lagosians vote for performance. So if one party can provide that, then why look outside like a promiscuos wife or husband who wont appreciate the Gift at her/his disposal
CSTR1002:
You want me to open threads where prominent igbo personalities like ekweremadu was being attacked unjustly by Yoruba low -lives on nairaland ?
Okay, let me ignore that.

Fashola is nationally prominent. I have no problem with him.

Osibanjo is the VP, he is a slowpoke, but he is harmless.

Tinubu on the other hand is a criminal. Just look at how he has conered Lagos into his personal estate.

I don't think any patriot would like to see him in a position of national prominence

In fact, Yorubas should be at the forefront of that given how he has swallowed your commonwealth.
Unless you want to tell me that tinubu installing his crooked boys at the federal level will put money in your pocket.
SportsRe: No Nigerian Referees As FIFA Select 16 African Officials For 2018 World Cup by bakaredc: 7:09am On Mar 30, 2018
Its simple, the reason why England has no referee is due to the on going diplomatic uproar with Russia(the skripal issue) The British govt had said no member of the Royal family, no govt official is permitted to go to the world cup in russia, there is even still a debate going on in Britain whether they should allow their three lions go to Russia.
Then for Nigerian referees not making it, i wonder why some people here are attaching it with buhari as if we had 10 referees in the last world cup. If u must criticise, do it intellectually.

I understand his point though, but then the security aides have to do their job, their principals are 'political' office holders, the security details trump had when he was just a 'normal' rich elite is different from now as a political leader. So the Bill Gates debate shouldnt come in. I believe alot of things could be the reason for dat, perhaps the event planners didnt envisaged having their security details having their own seats behind their principals.

PoliticsWe Have Learnt Our Lessons!!! PDP Apologises To Nigerians by bakaredc(op): 5:21pm On Mar 26, 2018
We have made mistakes, learnt our lessons, PDP apologises to Nigerians

The Peoples Democratic Party on Monday in Abuja, apologised to Nigerians for the mistakes the party made while in power.

National Chairman of the party, Mr Uche Secondus, made the apology at a public national discourse on “Contemporary Governance in Nigeria.”

He assured that under his watch, there would be no imposition of candidates or any form of impunity.

“I hereby, as the National Chairman, do admit that the PDP made a lot of mistakes; we are humans, not spirits and the ability to admit is key in moving forward.

“We admit that we have made several mistakes; we have passed through all our challenges and have acquired the experience no other party can boast of.

“We were sanctioned by Nigerians at the polls in 2015; let me use this opportunity to apologise for our past mistakes.

“It is the honest thing to do, a legacy to transfer to our children; we cannot continue like that.

“When we make mistakes, we should come out boldly to the people and apologise.

“It is important to do so because we have learnt from our mistakes unlike the All Progressive Congress (APC) that will make mistakes and lie to cover it.

“We apologise to Nigerians that we have made mistakes, we have learnt our lessons and we are ready to begin on a new agenda; experience is the best teacher, no other party has it,” he said.

According to Secondus, when things are not positive and the mindset is negative, it is time to reset it.

He said that the public discourse was an ample opportunity for the party members to collectively “press the reset button’’ and set a new agenda for the nation.

According to him, there was too much power at the party’s National Headquarters, and going forward, power will be devolved to the wards, states and zones.

In his contribution, a chieftain of the party, Chief George Bode, said that the position of the party leadership rekindled his loyalty.

Bode called on members of PDP who left the party as a result of its past mistakes to return home from the “wilderness’’.

According to him, to err is human and forgive is divine, it was time to walk the talk for the repositioning of the country.

One of the panelists at the event, Ms Toyosi Ogunshiji, commended the party for toeing the line of honour.

She said that Nigeria must move from praying to taking more serious actions for the progress of the country.

Ogunshiji said that the country needed statesmen “who think about the people and not politicians who think about the next elections’’.

According to her, Nigerians only voted against President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 and did not necessarily vote for President Muhammadu Buhari.

She said that the electorate who would be seen in the 2019 general elections would be different from those politicians had seen in the past.

PoliticsRe: Why FG Could Not Negotiate With Boko Haram To Put End To Terrorism? by bakaredc: 11:26am On Mar 22, 2018
Let me quote an intellectual mind, let me just add, that terrorism is not something u can negotiate to end, they are not militants, there is a sharp contrast btw militants and terrorists, terrorism is an ideology and u cant just smooth talk them out of it.
In principle USA doesnt negotiate with terrorists but in reality they do, how do u explain exchange of prisoners. . So the nigerian government negotiating with Boko Haram to save innocent lives should not be over flogged and talking them to surrender their arms will only be an exercise in futility unless they are totally decimated.
Alexk2:
When you understand terrorism deeply and their module operadi all over the world, you won't even ask any of those questions....rather you'll commend fg for getting this one right. It is never a conventional warfare that you can just go with your arsenals and And like that. All over the world, negotiations are made with terrorists for reasons similar to this one. It is ignorant and too much Hollywood that makes people believe USA don't negotiate with terrorist; they do wella. Though this kidnap shouldn't have happened to start with but we should all be happy that they're back wihin the shortest possible time. Trust me, it was irresponsibility and insentivity to human lives on the part of the govt of the day that makes chibok own linger on for this long.

According to official reports, the news of their release has been in the headlines as early as 7:30 am, report has it that the girls were dropped at dapchi around 3 am this morning,if that is true then the video has nothing to do with the dapchi girls released today. Unless they visited the town later in the morning or this afternoon. As much as we want to quickly cast aspersions, let apply some intellectual reasoning.....

It is safe to say that Rex Tillerson already knew he was going to be relieved while here in Africa, he was suppose to hold some high level meetings in Kenya but it was postponed, and then he was suppose to meet with Us consulate in Nigeria yesterday night, sleep over and depart for the US this morning, but the trip was cut short and he left immediately after meeting buhari.
Pls lets try to engage in some intellectual perception to issues and not sentiments.
Moreover, for those who follow happenings in US politics, you can attest to it that Tillerson was going to be sacked or resign sooner or later.
