Sir, possessing double masters degree (one from a reputable school in the UK) does not automatically pass as a qualification for the position of deputy CBN governor (in charge of monetary policies). That's obviously a position better suited to a seasoned, well-grounded and proven economist with years of experience in handling monetary policies.

The spate of apparent lopsidedness and nepotism that has followed government appointment in recent times leaves Nigeria facing more perilous times if nothing is said and more importantly, done to correct it.

Look around our government, square pegs in round holes everywhere, from top to bottom.

We must be awake to the bleak future that looms (for us and our children) if we don't quit allowing partisan politics and tribal prejudice to blind us to what is right.

TS hopefuls, let's start getting ready... Learnt FBN month literally starts from 19th... And that explains the TS mails for SEs coming in on 20th.

For those still awaiting AC, dont give up hope. Just keep your mind active and have a positive mentality.
AC is actually fun. From one stage to the next. Just use your time to prep for it properly.
You can also try applying other banks like Wema or Eco.
As for my fellow TS hopefuls, 1st week oct is done. With each passing week, we get closer to TS. God will see us through.
By the way, how many suits shuld sum1 take?

AC will still be held, no doubt...patience is key.
As for TS hopefuls, my instinct tells me mails will drop by the end of the month for resumption first week in November.

Suits? There is no restriction na. If you have ten suit pieces carry all of them come...if Na only one or two you get too no body go pursue you as long as you maintain the dress code.

I was taken aback when I saw that comment from her...and she probably had her reasons (personal I mean) for speaking that way. Probably trying to vent her frustration at the slow pace of events with the recruitment process...all the same her choice of words were not right in that they seemed targeted against other FB hopefuls who've been trying their best to keep the thread going for everyone. Let's all allow superior reasoning to prevail and forgive any perceived offense.

The truth is this thread has kept many of us prospective FB GTs hopeful and upbeat. Let's all keep encouraging one another and sharing any useful information.

Any of the SE guys in the training school I believe are in a good position to help awaiting GTs get any relevant information as regards resumption of training school for GTs.Staying at first academy should give privelege to obtaining few infos.

The truth is not many SEs are actively following this thread...many of them before now were very busy with work and now in TS the schedule doesn't really allow much room for extra side attractions (especially on week days). I spoke with someone in TS and he doesn't have information on when TS is likely to commence for GTs. Hopefully, it'll still start this year as expected.

Yooo!! So was waiting for word back from First Bank after my AC. Once I read that success mails were already flying out about 3 weeks ago for AC candidates I lost interest and decided to move forward with my life because I was not going to wait for several weeks/months just to get word back!

Long story short, I got an offer yesterday from a top international tech firm with presence here in Nigeria with a pay 3 times what we were speculating First Bank pays their GT. I was blindsided by this offer. Needless to say I accepted it!

Essentially from November I will be a dope boy with more money I have ever seen!

I hope me falling out of the GT process opens up room for another person to fill my spot!

Everybody will get a shot guys, everybody will. Just exercise some patience and play your position all the while.

AC will likely commence on Saturdays as usual, after the onset of the training school program for the first set of GTs who've had their medicals...#my opinion

Yea. They reported at the Academy today. They used the whole day doing registration and other stuffs. Accommodation is superb with two persons per room, and the SE guys total 91. A welcome party was also organized for them this night. They were told that their training is to last for 4/5 weeks depending on their level of assimilation but were also advised to be serious coz GT guys will be coming in after theirs.

I just finished speaking with one of the contact persons given to us at FBN. The TS starting on Monday is strictly for SE only. The GT shall be coming after theirs is done next month. So for now, keep doing what you're doing.

Thanks for the information. Mixed feelings for me, I really am tired of just waiting, quit my job about three weeks ago...yet I'm glad it gives me enough time to round up with my program.

We haven't spoken since the last time I asked...they're at work but I suppose they should have by now.

Yes, two SEs I know have gotten the mail for 26th September. The training is to run for four weeks according to them. They said the mails dropped late last night.

So my thought is that if the GT hopefuls don't get mails today then na till after their own four weeks o. Just speculating though.

Have you confirmed that mails have been sent to SEs for a fact because the ones I'm in contact with, none of them have gotten the mail. They've gone through documentation and medicals too.

My thoughts: this will likely mean two scenarios
1. We will not be having training school for fresh graduate trainees until after the four weeks training for SEs
OR
2. We should start expecting more mails to come between now and weekend and start packing our bags for training school.

I'm anxious for training school but at the same time I still have three courses to write and don't really want to abandon it now, after all the wahala.

I am serious. I haven't received too. He said TS commences on Monday 25th September and to last for four weeks.

I suppose that's for service executives...I just spoke with one of them now, a friend, and he confirmed that their own training will likely be for four weeks while that of fresh grad trainees will run between 4-6months.

Then let them go and resubject themselves to the recognised NLC or TUC and strike with one voice rather than being Tinubu's political tool. I can never support Ajaero and his group cos they killed NLC, the last hope of the common Nigerian by refusing to go on strike when we needed them most. They will not get the support of most Nigerians, I bet you. Already, some unions have already started pulling out of the ULC strike because they now see Ajaero for what he is; a bloody fraud!

I sincerely do hope the labour unions sheave their swords and sort out their differences in the interest of the nation. The problem we have in that regard however is that power intoxicates (especially so for the black man, forgive my stereotyping) and it may be difficult for them to display the humility required for peace to reign.

The crux of the matter still remains the fact that Nigeria is dying for good leadership across board.

Coming from ULC, this is absolute thrash! They just want to be recognised after being used and dumped by the APC led Federal govt. They lost an election to comrade Ayuba Wabba and decided to go set up their own union, but the GEJ led FG at the time denounced them so they partnered with APC and went on an illegal strike just before elections when even MTN and GLO were shutting down due to nupeng strike. The Buhari won and they thought they would be given a place of relevance. When Buhari increased fuel price from 87 to 145, NLC went on a legal strike which was greatly weakened because ULC refused to join them after a private meeting between Ajaero and Tinubu. Na now dem come realise say dem need strike? What for? ASUU is already on strike what do they need ULC backup for? Or is this strike politically motivated because Tinubu and Buhari are no longer in good terms? Abeg Ajaero should find somewhere to go and sleep joor. Nonsense!

Their intentions may be wrong, we cannot exactly say for sure. However, we also cannot deny the congency of the points they raised, which of course does not only include the ongoing ASUU strike.
Nigeria as a nation and Nigerians as a people, need to begin to hold our leaders accountable, we need to learn to demand responsibility from them.

Your questions are not at all in correlation with the comment you quoted. As a matter of fact you're probably justifying the statement with your questions and remarks.
Asking for a change in ideology doesn't equal to calling for anyone to take up arms or embark on endless cycles of strike action. We need a change in the way we think, our value system, which will eventually affect what we do. That's my point.
As for the leadership crisis we are facing, every honest Nigerian knows that we have a dearth of good leadership at all levels of government and public service.
Strike, unfortunately, has been identified as the only language Nigerian leaders seem to understand and only good and responsible leadership can bring about a change in that ideology. Cheers!

The federal government claims not to recognize them. However they have groups like NUPENG, bankers and insurance employee association, electrical workers association and others under the United Labour Congress.

Nigeria's democracy is not advanced mate.

Even in the US, an independent candidate would almost certainly not win candidates from the big two parties.

Same case in Nigeria, the folks sponsoring the independent candidate would have their own agenda. And nothing stops the independent candidate from joining or creating a party after clinching the position.

We need to revamp our electoral law no doubt, but we need to have a rethink of the party system. Parties should be based on ideologies. Unfortunately, that is not the case in Nigeria. The ease with which candidates can cross-carpet between parties while retaining the same convictions is appalling.

Independent candidates would not solve this, but there's no harming in trying anyway.

I agree with most of your points. Clearly what Nigeria and Nigerians need is an ideological revamp. We're still too held back by the umbilical cords of tribal, religious and political sentiments. While these at some points were useful in giving us our sense of identity and uniqueness, they have currently become instruments of manipulation hindering our progress.

I believe we can have political parties with clearly defined ideologies.
I also believe we can have a restructured political landscape where independents can run on the mettle of their credentials and not on the basis of who is "godfathering" them.
All of these however must begin with a change in the mindset of the populace.
We are the ones to demand the positive change we need.
Reading through your comment and those of some others on different threads and platforms, gives me hope that Nigeria has men who can shape the future positively.
