Right now, I find it very hard to call myself a Nigerian. What is the point of pledging loyalty to a country that cares not for the HND graduates?

As an HND holder, I graduated with distinction (Top of my class)from the top polytechnic in Nigeria. With high hopes, I applied for the ongoing shell graduate recruitment. The recruitment process involves an online registration and series of online aptitude tests prior to oral interview. What broke my heart during the registration was when I saw the column fo where to indicate your class of degree. First option was first class. Second was second class upper. Third was second class lower and the fourth was third class/HND.
This means that irrespective of your grade in the polytechnic, shell sees you as a third class graduate.
Well, I have moved on. Better things ahead. My advice to HND holders is to embrace entrepreneurship. That way, we can gain respect in the society. And for the country called Nigeria that have refused to stop this BSc/HND dichtonomy, what out for HND holders who will shape the economy soon!!!

@op, please don't regard all these suggestions of cv this and that. To be candid, THERE ARE NO JOBS!!!.... The little ones available has been saturated. Nepotism is d highest order of d day in nigeria.
My solution: for u to be a first class graduate means that u have good intellect and capacity to innovate. I am a youth corper, but fully self employed. I believe u must have undergone some training under d SAED programme during service year. Why not be self employed? Some jobs require small capital like 20k, why not try it out. Am into agriculture and am making my cool cash even while serving. Am currently writing a biz plan which will enable me obtain a loan from BOA. Don't let ur head swell because u are a first class graduate. Infact, I graduated with distinction from yabatech, top of my whole faculty. That is not a yard stick to be overconfident. So my good friend, BE SELF EMPLOYED!!!... Click like if u support joor!!!

@ jethro, am currently in NYSC camp @ iseyin, oyo state. I won't be able to attend tommorrow. Is there any other crop that can still be cultivated this year?

Hello fellow agropreneurs, I have just been posted to oyo state for my NYSC. But as an aspiring agropreneur, I intend to start egg distribution in oyo state with the little money I saved . I intend to distribute eggs in oyo and other neighbouring states like osun, ogun and lagos. Experts in the house please advice me on how to source for buyers in these areas. I thank God and seun osewa for creating this agric section. I have keen interest in quail farming, but I observed it is widely practised in d northern region. This biz is lucrative if only we can tap into it. Am a prospective corper and am hoping to serve in d south west. Agriculture has always been my childhood passion. I intend to start quail farming during my youth service, please practising farmers should show me d ropes. FARMERS!!!! (We feed d nation)

rent a piece of land, build a temporary poutry house and breed broiler chickens for next year easter celebration. with 200k, u will breed 300 broilers and sell each at an average price of 2500 naira. also, u can employ a youth in d area who will attend 2 d broilers in ur absence, u can pay him 5 - 10 k monthly. locate d nearest vet doctor in vicinity for vaccination of d birds. every oda info on broiler farming u will get online. cheers!!!

Hello friends, just stumbled upon this thread and i wish to place my own comment. Currently, im studying env. Biology at YCT. The world is concerned about its env. E.g: global warming, desertification, flooding, extinction of species, oil spillage( bonga oil spill), freezing weather in europe etc. As an env biologist, u can work in any of these : HSE of any company, LAWMA, LASEPA, WHO, ministry of env. And conservation to mention a few. Env. Biologists are on high demand cos d world, even lagos state is very concerned about the env. An example is the plant a tree campaign in lagos state. Currently, env. Biologist are responsible for cleaning the oil spills in bonga, bayelsa state. I am proud 2 be an env. Biologist.
